Charles A. 'Chuck' Lindsey

MARION -- Charles A. "Chuck" Lindsey, 63, 3200 Smeltzer Road, died Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2003, at Marion General Hospital.

Born Nov. 22, 1940, in Marion, he was the son of the late Alton and Lucille (Hogan) Lindsey.

He was employed by Todco as purchasing manager. He was an avid softball player and fisherman, member of MARCA Industries Board of Directors, member of Knights of Columbus Council 671, Elks Lodge and Moose Lodge.

He is survived by three sons, Michael (Sara) Lindsey, Marion, Rick Lindsey, Marion, David (Linda) Lindsey, Marion; a daughter, Sue (Tom) Endsley, Marion; a brother, Ralph (Evelyn) Lindsey, Massillon; a sister, Marilyn (Bill) Vanderhoff, Marion; the mother of his children, Barbara Lindsey; and grandchildren, Mason Lindsey, Lauren Lindsey, Trent Endsley,  Taylor Lindsey, Paxton Lindsey, Ty Endsley, Ashleigh Lindsey and Regan Endsley. He was preceded in death by a sister, Genoa Richie.

The funeral is 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Mary Church with the Rev. Father Rod Damico officiating., Burial is in St. Mary's Cemetery. Friends may call 2-5 p.m. Sunday at Gunder/Hall & Folk Funeral Directors.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary Church or MARCA Industries.

Mary A. Armstrong

MARION -- Mary A. Armstrong, 87, 385 Latourette St., died at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 19, 2003, at her residence.

The daughter of the late Royal and Birde (Stillwell) Davis, she was born May 7, 1916, in Mackinaw, Mich.

On March 11, 1938, in Marion, she married Earl L. Armstrong, who preceded her in death in 1975 in Marion.

A homemaker, she was a Marion resident for 69 years.

She is survived by two sons, Rolly H. (Christine) Armstrong of Marion and Roger S. (Jean) Armstrong of Haines City, Fla.; two daughters, Peg Chesser and Joan Grubbs, both of Marion; a brother, Ora Davis of Michigan; 13 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.

Graveside services will be held at a later date in Chapel Heights Memory Gardens.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

Boyd Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Robert E. Lee

MOUNT VICTORY -- Robert E. Lee, 53, Mount Victory, died at 11:15 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 18, 2003, at his residence.

Born Jan. 12, 1950, in Kenton, he was the son of William N. and Avonelle (Seiler) Lee. His mother survives in Mount Victory.

A quality engineer for 35 years at Whirlpool Corp. in Marion, he loved to hunt and fish.

He also is survived by a daughter, Tara Lee (Charles) Crew of Mount Victory, and a nephew, Shane Wood of Marion. He was preceded in death by his father and a sister, Linda Wood.

Friends may call 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 21, 2003, at Price Funeral Home in Mount Victory, where services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 22, 2003, by the Revs. Scott  Johnson and Charles Zweizig. Burial will be in Wolfcreek Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hardin Hospice Care.

Jean E. Daso

MARION -- Jean E. Daso, 49, 881 E. Church St., passed away at 5:58 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 18, 2003, at Ohio State University Medical Center.

Born June 11, 1954, in Columbus, she was the daughter of Guy O. and Ruth W. (Cramer) Varner.

On. Sept. 28, 1972, in Marion, she married G. Eugene Daso; he survives in Marion.

She was a mail handler for Fulfillment Corp., attended Mount Vernon Avenue Church of Christ and member of Army Navy Reunion.

In addition to her husband, she is also survived by three sons, Eric G. (Tabitha) Daso, Marion, Christopher L. (Tiffani) Daso, Tallahassee, Fla., James A. (Hilda) Daso, Marion; six grandchildren, Shane, Ostyn, Autumn, Ty, Ryan, James Jr.; a brother, Michael J. Varner, Marion; four sisters, Sharon (Burnett) King, Clarksville, Ark., Gaye (Keith) Rasey, Marion, Sheila (Herb) Minor, Marion, and Rebecca Varner, Marion. She was preceded in death by a son, Robert, and three sisters, Phyllis L. Moore, Carolyn and Beverly.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Denzer-Farison-Hottinger Funeral Home with Phil Williams and Robert Quick, ministers, officiating. Burial is in Chapel Heights Memory Gardens. Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.

Marlene Mitchell

LARUE -- Marlene Mitchell, age 70, died Friday, Dec. 19, 2003, at 2:48 p.m. at Morning View Care Center of Marion.

She was born March 22, 1933, in Marion to the late Clyde C. and Doris (Teeters) Mitchell.

She is survived by one sister, Pearl  Johnson of Ashland, Ohio; three half sisters, Barbara (Fred) Price of Marion, Joyce (Earl) Murphy of LaRue and Carolyn (John) Goodin of LaRue; one stepsister, June Welch of Bakersfield, Calif.; sister-in-law, Mary Mitchell of Marion; 14 nephews; and nine nieces.

She was preceded in death by a stepfather, Lonnie E. Wygle; two sisters, Amy Wygle and Leota Mitchell; two brothers, Bobby and Joe Mitchell; four stepsisters, Violet Price, Katherine, Margaret and Maxine Wygle; and two stepbrothers, James and Howard Wygle.

She worked at MARCA Industries.

Private graveside services will be held at Chapel Heights Memory Gardens. Minister will be Pastor Harry Simmons. There will be no calling hours. Those who wish may make contributions to either the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or the American Cancer Society.

Arrangements are in charge of the Stofcheck Funeral Home in LaRue.

David Baird

RICHWOOD -- David Baird of rural Richwood died Saturday morning, Dec. 20, 2003, at his home. Arrangements are pending with Stofcheck Funeral Home in Richwood.

Helen M. Stockdale

FINDLAY -- Helen M. Stockdale, age 80, of Jenera, died at 3:48 p.m. Dec. 19, 2003, at Birchaven.

She was born Jan. 26, 1923, to Grover and Alice (Ewing) Pummell in Columbus, Ohio.

Helen married John Harvey Stockdale on May 3, 1947, and he died July 28, 2000.

She is survived by her children, John R. Stockdale and Mrs. Jack (Fran) Butler, both of Findlay, Mrs. Mike (Jan S.) Repine of Marion, Mrs. Norm (Candy) Duffman of Vanlue and Sue Armbrecht of Toledo; 18 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Rachel of Sebring, Fla. She was preceded in death by her brother Bob Pummell and her sister Letheda Aldrich.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2003, at Coldren-Crates Funeral Home, the Rev. Michael Thompson officiating. Interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Findlay, Ohio. Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday, Dec. 22, at the funeral home.
