RICHARD R. WEISENBACH, 68, of Batesville, Ind., died Wednesday. He was a retried superviser in the H50 electronics division of the Hill-Rom Co. Mass: 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Louis Catholic Church, Batesville, Ind. Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Weigel Funeral Home, 200 S. Walnut St., Batesville. Memorials: Leukemia Foundation, Batesville Rescue 10 or Batesville Fire Department.

Mary Ann Wind, nurse, minister
With a husband, seven children and six brothers and sisters, Mary Ann Berling Wind had plenty of people in need of her care and love.

Yet the Covington woman not only pursued a career in nursing, but also served as a minister and volunteered at St. Vincent de Paul and Be Concerned.

'She had an innate need to care for people,' said her granddaughter, Angie Yockie.

'It was who she was and what she did. She was like a whirlwind of surprises and gifts and stories.'

Mrs. Wind, a certified nurse's assistant at St. Elizabeth Medical Center for more than 35 years, died at the St. Elizabeth Hospice Unit on Thursday. She was 69.

Her husband, Stanley Wind Sr., died in 1993.

Survivors include sons, Michael S. Wind of Erlanger, Stan Wind Jr. of  Taylor Mill, Ky., Joseph Wind of Fort Thomas, Ky., and Theodore Bernard Wind of Independence, Ky.; daughters, Kathleen Clifton of Georgetown, Ohio, Sandra Chadderton of Florence, Ky., and Therese Robke of Independence; brothers, Ralph Berling of Pensacola, Fla., Richard Berling and James Berling, both of Erlanger, Ky.; sisters, Grace Dillon of Fort Mitchell, Ky., and Margaret Shepherd of Florence; 18 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Holy Cross Church, Covington. Visitation will be from 8:30 to 10:15 a.m. Saturday at Swindler and Currin Funeral Home, Covington. Memorials are suggested to St. Elizabeth Hospice Unit, 401 E. 20th St., Covington, Ky. 41014; or Holy Cross Church, 3612 Church St., Covington, Ky. 41015.

SISTER MAGDALEN DOLORES HARRINGTON, 92, of the Motherhouse at the College of Mount St. Joseph, died Tuesday. She was a teacher and principal for 41 years, including two years as principal at Marian High School, six years as a primary grade teacher and 15 years as principal and superior in Dayton, Ohio. She also served at schools in Cleveland, Denver and Trinidad, Colo., Royal Oak, Mich. and South Hol land, Ill. Services: 11 a.m. Saturday in the Immaculate Conception chapel at the Sisters of Charity Motherhouse, 5900 Delhi Road. Visitation: 9:30 a.m. Saturday in the Heritage Room at the Motherhouse. ROBERT LEWIS, 73, of Felicity, Ohio, died Wednesday. He was a retired maintenance worker for Cincinnati Paperboard and a U.S. Navy veteran. Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Kennedy-Stevens Funeral Home, Bethel. Visitation: 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

PAUL C. MORRIS, 61, of Downtown, died Monday. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War. Graveside services at 11 a.m. today at Tate Township Cemetery, Bethel. Kennedy-Stevens funeral home is in charge of the arrangements.

VASSAR LEE NAPIER SR., 66, of North College Hill, died Tuesday. He was a chef. Services: 11 a.m. Saturday at Good News Church of God in Christ, 1063 North Bend Road. Visitation: 10 a.m. Saturday at the church. Thompson, Hall and Jordan Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Roy Wilson, 87, market owner
Roy Wilson, longtime butcher and former owner of Koenig & Wilson Market in Erlanger, Ky., die d Friday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center North Hospice Unit in Covington. He was 87.

Mr. Wilson, of Erlanger, started working at Koenig Market when he was 16 and learned the meat cutting trade on the job, the same way he learned to cook, said his wife, Mary Wilson. "He always said, when you have six children, you learn to cook," she said.

Roy Wilson was a master in the kitchen. "He did Christmas dinner, Thanksgiving dinner. There isn't anything he couldn't fix," said Mrs. Wilson.

"Young brides would come in who didn't know how to cook. He'd tell them how they could fix different cuts of meat. People would always come up to him and say 'You taught me how to cook.' " she said.

He was a member of St. Henry Church, Elsmere, Ky. He enjoyed gardening, painting and working with wood.

A daughter, Mary Wilson Sampsell, preceded him in death.

Survivors in addition to his wife include sons, David Wilson of Dunellon, Fla., William Wilso n of Florence and Richard Wilson of Hebron, Ky.; daughters, Carol Haven of Petersburg, Ky., and Darlene Moon of Miami, Fla.; stepsons, William Mullins of Richmond, Ky., and George Loze of Somerset, Ky.; stepdaughters, Karen Kelly of Hebron and Susan Pittman of Verona, Ky.; a brother, Robert Wilson of Deltona, Fla.; 22 grandchildren, 10 step-grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, six step-great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Henry Church, Elsmere. Burial wi ll be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Erlanger. There will be a reception in the undercroft of the church following the burial.

Memorials are suggested to American Heart Association, 1885 Dixie Highway, Suite 250, Fort Wright, Ky. 41011; St. Elizabeth Hospice, 401 E. 20th St., Covington, Ky. 41014; or the charity of donor's choice. Linnemann Funeral Home, Erlanger, is handling arrangements.

Mary Ann Dedden, 67, loved Christmas

Mary Ann Dedden loved having her family around her at Christmas.

"Christmas was the highlight of the year because it brought all of the children, grandchildren, family and friends together, and this Christmas will be dedicated to her memory," said a daughter, Connie Snipes of Covington.

Mrs. Dedden, 67, of Independence, died Friday afternoon at St. Luke Hospital West in Florence.

She was a former comptometer with Western Southern Life Insurance Co. in Cincinnati, a secretary with Brophy-Maynard Insurance Co. in Erlanger and a bookkeeper with her husband's business, Charlie Dedden's Auto Repair in Erlanger.

She was also a customer service asso ciate with Hess Department Store and J.C. Penney at the Florence Mall, where she sold furniture and jewelry.

"Mom was an avid euchre player, and she belonged to the same euchre club for over 35 years," said Ms. Snipes.

"She enjoyed spending time with her many friends, but caring and providing for her children was the main focus of her life."

Other survivors in clude her husband of 47 years, Charles F. Dedden Sr.; daughters, Debbie Shackleford, Pam  Jones and Charlotte Wayman, all of Independence; sons, Donald Dedden of  Taylor Mill and Charles F. Dedden Jr. of Independence; a brother, Charles Parris of Erlanger; a sister, Elizabeth McDougall of Edgewood; 16 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Linnemann Funeral Home in Erlanger.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to Fairhaven Rescue Mission, 260 Pike St., Covington, Ky. 41011.

Judy Auton, 59, of Ludlow, died at 11:23 p.m. Sunday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Ronald G. Auton; a sister, Opal Iles of Ryland Heights; and brothers, Ronnie Smith and Donnie Smith, both of Ryland Heights.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. John Cemetery Chapel, Fort Mitchell. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery. Catchen Funeral Home, Covington, is handling arrangements.

Sister Mary Gerard Cheng, 83, of Delhi Township, died Saturday at Mother Margaret Hall Nursing Home, Delhi Township. She was a teacher and foreign missionary. She taught mentally disabled children at Springer Institute and was a volunteer to open missions in South America. She started a Chinese-Peruvian school named Juan XXIII, teaching English to students. In 1973-85, she taught art and ceramics at St. Gabriel School, Glendale. In 1985, she moved back to the Motherhouse and worked in the congregation's finance office, as a receptionist.

Survivors include a sisters, Betty Cheng of Delhi, Antonia Cheng of Belgium and Agnes Cheng of China; a brother, Paul Cheng of Michigan; nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the Immaculate Conception Chapel at the Motherhouse. Visitation will be at 9 a.m. Thursday in the Heritage Room at the Sisters of Charity Motherhouse. Burial will be in the Motherhouse cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Sisters of Charity Retirement Fund, 5900 Delhi Road, Mount St. Joseph, Ohio 45051, in her name.

Jackie Carol Clifton, 45, of Carrollton, died Sunday at Norton Hospital, Louisville. She was a homemaker and attended Carrollton Wesleyan Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Yogi Kelley of Carrollton; her mother, Shirley Mae Snow Clifton of Carrollton; sisters, Shirley Richmond of Bedford, Marsha Bradshaw of Milton, Jennie Mauser of Ghent, Mary Gollaer of Gibsonton, Fla., Wanda Hewitt and Terry Hunter, both of Carrollton; brothers, Russell Clifton of Bedford, Danny Clifton of Lancaster, Ben Clifton of LaGrange, Leslie J. Clifton and Perry Clifton, both of Carrollton, Dennis Clifton of Union and Charles Clifton of Acworth, Ga.; and two grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home, Carrollton. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery, Carrollton.

Asbery T. Courtney, 85, of Alexandria, died Monday at his son's home in Alexandria. He was a machinist with  Taylor and Wharton Iron and Steel, Norwood, and a member of Boyd United Methodist Church, Harrison County. He was a member of Wilmington Lodge F&AM in Kenton County, was a musician and an Army veteran of World War II. His wife, Zadah Pike Courtney, died in 1994.

Survivors include sons, Jerry Courtney of Alexandria, Bobby Courtney of Las Vegas, Harold Courtney of Covington and Kenny Courtney of  Taylor Mill; daughters, Jo Ann Prew itt of Latonia and Sandy Morgenthal of Cincinnati; 17 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Woodhead Funeral Home, Falmouth. Visitation will begin there at noon Thursday. Burial will be in Pythian Grove Cemetery, Harrison County.

Betty Ann Wallace Day, 51, of Indianapolis, formerly of Falmouth, died Saturday at her home.

Survivors include a son, Matthew Wallace of Indianapolis; a daughter, Christie Breeden of Indianapolis; brothers, Roy Burlew and Jimmy Wallace, both of Las Vegas; sisters, Judith Marksberry of Covington, Penny Skirvin of Florence, Nancy Simpson of Las Vegas and Susan French of Mount Olivet; and five grandchildren.

Services will be private. Burial will be in Butler Cemetery. Peoples Funeral Home, Falmouth, is handling arrangements.
