Charles W. Eha, an avid camper

A job as a sales trainee led to a 34-year career in plastics for Charles W. "Jerry" Eha, 70, who died Tuesday from complications of Alzheimer's disease.

After a two-year hitch in the U.S. Army and attending the Dartmouth College Graduate School of Business, Eha took a job as a sales trainee in 1956 with Littleford Brothers Inc. He eventually rose to become that company's vice president of sales.

Before he began his career, though, he maintained an active interest - that he held into adulthood - in camps, attending Michigan's Camp Fairwood and Minnesota's Camp Kooch-I-Ching.

The Hyde Park native graduated from Withrow High and Denison University and joined Sigma Chi fraternity, where he later served as vice president, the beginning of a lengthy list of organizations for which he held office.

He also served as president of the Cincinnati Gyro Club, vice president of the Society of the Plastics Industry, on the board of trustees of the Camping and Education Foundation and the board of governors of the University Club.

He is survived by his wife, Stephanie, sons Steven of Cincinnati and William of Las Vegas, and daughter Cynthia Flynn of Glen Ellyn, Ill.

An 11 a.m. Saturday memorial service will be at the Indian Hill Church.

Memorials may be made to the Camping and Education Foundation, Suite 206, Cincinnati 45246, or the Indian Hill Church, 6000 Drake Road, Cincinnati 45243.
