Raymond Klebahn, Cincinnati Bell manager
Raymond E. Klebahn, a retired accounting department manager with Cincinnati Bell Telephone, died Wednesday at his home. The Fort Thomas, Ky., resident was 77.

He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and a Navy veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Klebahn; a son, Paul Klebahn of Cold Spring, Ky.; and a sister, Dorothy Wanstrath of Cincinnati.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Thomas Church, Fort Thomas.

Memorials are suggested to American Cancer Society in Florence or St. Thomas Church in Fort Thomas.

Bruce Brownfield, led band on Dixon show

From the 1950s through the 1970s, Bruce O. Brownfield Sr. was one of the most recognizable figures in the Midwest.
"We would walk down the sidewalk and people would say, 'Oh, there's Bruce from the Paul Dixon show,' " said Mr. Brownfield's wife of 59 years, Millie Brownfield. "It seemed like everybody knew him."

Mr. Brownfield was, from 1955-72, the band leader and musical director on the popular Paul Dixon Show, which originated at the WLWT television studios in Cincinnati.

Mr. Brownfield, 82, of Fort Wright, Ky., died Tuesday at Brighton Gardens Care Center in Edgewood.

In addition to his stint on the Paul Dixon show, Mr. Brownfield played piano and the accordion throughout Greater Cincinnati. He was a winner on the Arthur Godfrey Talent Scouts television program playing the accordion. He was also a former public relations director for Covington schools, a former member of the Northern Kentucky University faculty and a Navy veteran of World War II.

Other survivors include a daughter, Dinah Martin of Lakeside Park; sons, Bruce O. Brownfield, Jr., of Symmes Township, and Steve A. Brownfield of Crescent Springs; and seven grandchildren.

Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Agnes Church, Fort Wright. Visitation will begin there at 9:30 a.m. Saturday. Allison and Rose Funeral Home, Covington, is handling arrangements.

Lawrence T. Acomb, Yellow Springs
Some knew Lawrence T. Acomb from his proprietorship of the Village Variety store in Yellow Springs. Others knew him because of his charitable works.

Mr. Acomb, who died Sunday at his Yellow Springs home, was born to a large family in Pleasant Ridge. He attended Withrow High School and continued his education at the University of Cincinnati.

He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.

He was a founding member of the United Methodist Church of Our Savior in Montgomery. As a member of the Kiwanis and Lions clubs, his charitable works included providing eyewear for the poor.

He organized fund-raisers that provided tractors and farm aid to African countries during the droughts and famines of the 1960s. A strong believer in public education, he worked to increase funding for public schools, and hosted international students from Kenya, Uganda, South Africa and Japan.

An avid golfer, he spent many mornings on the links. He spent many evenings dancing with his friends in several square dance associations.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Luella.

He is survived by his children, Patricia Ryther, Sam Sellers and Lawrence, Robert, James and Jack Acomb; brothers, Donald and Jerry Acomb; sisters, Marjorie and Jane Acomb; and eight grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the United Methodist Church, 202 S. Winter St., Yellow Springs. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the United Methodist Children's Fund or to the Yellow Springs Glen Helen Association.
