ABEGGLEN Hiram E. "Hi" Abegglen, of Worthington, age 83, died Thursday, March 29, 2001 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. A graduate of Findlay College and a Navy veteran of WW II. Retired from 37 years in the insurance and pension trust business. He was active in Masonry, a member of University Lodge, Scottish Rite and Aladdin Temple Shrine. Preceded in death by 2 sisters and a grandson Nathan Garrett. Survived by loving wife of 60 years, Helen; son, John (Laura) of Cincinnati; daughters, Anne McCarthy of Worthington and Jane (Don) Towle of Toledo; 8 grandchildren; 2 great-grandsons. A Memorial Service will be held 11 a.m. Friday at Worthington Presbyterian Church, where Hi was active for many years. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Aladdin Temple Shrine Children's Fund or the Worthington Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund. Arrangements by COOK & SON-PALLAY FUNERAL HOME.

BAKER John (Jack) Milton Baker, died March 30, 2001. He was the son of Stanley M. and Anna Joyce Baker. Former General Manager of Columbus Motor Car Co. He graduated from Castle Heights military Academy, Tennessee and attended the University of Notre Dame. Served in the U.S. Army as a 2nd Lieutenant during World War II. Member of the Columbus Country Club. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Joyce Baker Guthrie. He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Cole Baker and children, Ellen (Robert) Peterson, Columbus, John (Christiane) Baker, Jr., Philadelphia, Pa., Donna (John) Mahon, Columbus, and Marjorie (Scott) McCray, Cary, N.C.; 6 grandchildren, J.D. and Michael Mahon, Allison Emily and Maggie McCray, Caroline Baker; sister Ann B. Cuenin, Chevy Chase, Md.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may call Monday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at EGAN-RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 403 E. Broad St. Prayer Service Monday 3:30 p.m. Mass of the Christian Burial Tuesday 10:30 a.m. at the St. Catharine Church, 500 S. Gould Rd. Private burial St. Joseph Cemetery. BARNES Myrtie Walton Barnes, 94, formerly of Wellston, died in Delaware Friday. Survived by son, Dale (Darlene) Barnes of Delaware; daughter, Virginia Barnes Galle of Cincinnati. Visitation Sunday 5-8 p.m. at ROBINSON FUNERAL HOME, Delaware, where funeral service will follow at 8 p.m. Visitation Monday 5-9 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home, Wellston, where services will be Tuesday 10:30 a.m. Burial Ridgewood Cemetery.

BAUMANN (CULP) Nancy A. Baumann, age 53, Thursday, March 29, 2001 at Grant Hospital after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer. Member of St. Andrews Women's Club, St. Charles Mother's Club and volunteer for numerous charitable activities. Preceded in death by father Robert M. Culp. Survived by husband, Michael J.; daughter, Carrie (Andrew) Reis; sons, Patrick (Meredith), Christopher "C.J."; grandchildren, Jacob, Bess and Michael Reis; mother, Bertha E. Culp; brothers, Robert and Joseph Culp; sister, Joan Hoye; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins; and special friend, Mary Lee Damron. Family will receive friends Sunday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and Monday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the MAEDER-QUINT-TIBERI FUNERAL HOME, 1068 S. High St. Prayer service 7 p.m. Monday. Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Andrew Church, 1899 McCoy Rd. Fr. Michael Watson, Celebrant. Entombment St. Joseph Cemetery. BEAVERS H.V. Beavers, DVM, of Upper Arlington, died Wednesday March 28, 2001 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. He was a graduate of OSU Veterinary College and maintained his private practice in Grove City, Ohio until December 1, 1994. In addition to his private veterinary practice, he was the Racing Commission veterinarian at Scioto Downs and either the Racing Commission or Track Veterinarian at Beulah Park for over 30 years. He was a member of the Columbus Academy of Veterinary Medicine, the OVMA and the AV MA. He was a member and a past master of the Mt. Sterling Masonic Lodge #269, a member of the Scottish Rite, Shrine and the York Golf Club. He is survived by his wife, Janet; daughters, Brenda Hendricks, Lorna (Duke) Littlejohn; grandchildren, Nicholas and Matthew Miller, Alarah Littlejohn, Elizabeth Hendricks; brother, William E. (Mary) Beavers, DVM; sister, Helen Beavers; brothers-in-law, Robert (Betty) Tracy and Lee (Jean Ann) Tracy. There will be no visiting hours and Graveside Service and interment will be Monday April 2, 2001 at Pleasant Cemetery at 3 p.m. Arrangements by SCHOEDINGER NORRIS CHAPEL, 3920 Broadway, Grove City.

BOBB Barbara Jean Fancher Bobb, age 67, of Columbus, passed away quietly Wednesday March 28, 2001 at Pataskala Oaks Health Care Center. Barbara was born April 28, 1933 in Montrose, Pa. She is preceded in death by daughter Linda Sue Bobb. Survived by husband of 45 years, Emerson Bobb; daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Mark McIntyre of Pataskala; grandchildren, Molly Michelle and Michael Mark McIntyre; sister, Ruth (Ola) Dodson of Bradenton, Fla.; brother-in-law, Dick (Betty) Bobb of San Francisco; sister-in-law, Peggy Bobb of Las Vegas; many nieces, nephews and friends; many special friends, including Ginny, Phyllis and Betty. Member of Reynoldsburg United Methodist Church, Columbus Country Club, 20 year volunteer at Mt. Carmel East Hospital. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd., Gahanna. Funeral service 11 a.m. Monday, April 2, 2001 at Reynoldsburg United Methodist Church, 1636 Graham Rd. Dr. H. Douglas Shriner officiating. Private family interment. BROUSE Jon D. Brouse Sr., 69 years, passed away March 31, 2001, in Delaware, Oh. Born in Akron, he was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the Army in the First Cavalry. He belonged to Local # 894 and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Mr. Brouse is survived by His wife, Dorothy of Delaware, Ohio; son, John Jr. of Akron; daughters, Martha Vance of Magnetic Springs, Cynthia Nelson of Hartville, and Kathleen Carlson of Columbus; 10 grandchildren; 4 great-grand children; brother, Michael Brouse and sister, Margaret Stricklen. Funeral services Wednesday 11 a.m. at the Eckard Baldwin Sanctuary Chapel, 760 East Market Street, Father Raymond J. Smith officiating. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. Survived by children, Brenda (John) Barker of Gahanna, Donna (Mark) Smith, Rita (Grant) DeVones of Grand Rapids, Mich. and Douglas R. Carter Sarah Lucille Rust Carter, age 93, of Columbus, died Thursday, March 29, 2001 at The Ohio State University Hospital. Born December 9, 1907 in Ironton, Oh. to the late John Henry and Maude S. Christian Rust. She is preceded in death by her husband Phillip L. Carter, brothers George Rust and John Rust, sisters Helen Casey Elam and Eileen Higgins and son-in-law Jesse Williams. Lucille is survived by her daughter and best friend, Nancy A. Stewart Williams of Columbus; grandson, T/Sgt. Kenneth J. (Sharon) Williams of Colorado Springs, Colo.; great-grandchildren, Sarah Elizabeth Williams and Emily Frances Williams; sister, Betty Seagraves of Ravenswood, W.Va.; brother-in-law, Rueben L. Higgins of Coal Grove, Oh.; several nieces and nephews and many friends. Lucille was a member of Crestview Presbyterian Church where she belonged to several church groups. She was also very involved in the many activities at St. George on the Commons. Survived by husband, Tony Castle; life-long friend, Charles Holtz; special grandson, Bruce Von Wert; dear friends, Shelley and Larry Thompson, Bobby Warner and Debbie Stearns. A Service of Memory will be held 7 p.m. Tuesday at COOK & SON-PALLAY FUNERAL HOME, 1631 Parsons Ave.

CHRISTOPHER Rev. Claude Allen Christopher, age 71, of Lockville, Wednesday, March 28, 2001 at Grant Hospital as a result of a auto accident in Fairfield County. Retired Plumber, Rockwell International. Pastor, Holy Hands Church, Lockville. Survived by wife, Wilda "Pete"; daughter, Nita (Steve) Leonard, Lockville; son Jack Christopher, Lockville; 5 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; sisters, Viola Queener, Columbus, Eula (Thurston) Smith, Gahanna; brother, Buford (Bessie) Christopher, Pataskala; nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Preceded in death by parents Marion Chestly and Stella Anderson Christopher, son Bruce Christopher, granddaughter Nicole Leonard and 2 sisters. CHRYSLER Barbara Chrysler, age 72 of Xenia, passed away Friday, March 30, 2001. She was preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Neva Chapman; as well as two brothers Ward and Lowell Chapman and a sister Ila Chapman. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Dick; two daughters, Betty Hosta and Susan Chrysler, both of Xenia; sons, Jack and his wife Janice Chrysler of Columbus, and William and Rick Chrysler, both of Xenia; seven grandchildren, Corey, Ryan, Brandon, Jordan, and Kelly Chrysler and Tara and Cody Hosta; and sister-in-law, Anna Bahnsen of Palmetto, Fl. Barbara was a loving and caring mother and grandmother. She and Dick operated Kil-Kare Dragway for 27 years; she lived and loved auto racing and the people who worked and raced there. They were recently awarded the NASCAR Regional Promoters of the Year for 2000 and were honored for their racing promotions work from RPM (Racing Promotions Monthly). A funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Wednesday, April 4, 2001 at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME BEAVERCREEK CHAPEL, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Rd., at Grange Hall Rd. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-9 p.m. on Tuesday, April 3, 2001 and also from 11 a.m. until the time of services on Wednesday. Interment will be in Woodland Cemetery in Xenia, Oh., immediately following the service on Wednesday.

CLARKSON Michael R. Clarkson, age 51, passed away on Saturday, March 24, 2001 at Kobacker House. He was a 1967 graduate of Watterson High School and also graduated from Franklin University. Mike was an employee for many years of Long's Book Store and most recently of Bank One. He was preceded in death by his parents Thomas P. and Mario Clarkson and his brother Thomas "Pat" Clarkson. Mike is survived by his sister, Kevin Ann Ford, Columbus; nephew, Mike Ford (and son, Mick), Delaware; niece, Kim (Danny) Fackler, New Carlisle; aunt, Sr. Margaret Michael, SND, Cincinnati; and also many special and dear friends. Arrangements by SOUTHWICK-GOOD FUNERAL CHAPEL. Interment at a later date. Contributions may be made to Hospice at Riverside or to the Bishop Watterson High School Development Office. A memorial service will be held for "Reader Mike" at his favorite place, Dodridge Crossing, on Saturday April 7, 2001 at 4 p.m.

COLE Vanarah Shull Cole, age 95, formerly of Gahanna, passed away Friday, March 30, 2001 at Lutheran Village of Columbus. Born September 11, 1905 to Roll and Susan Shull of Gahanna. Formerly employed in the accounting department of Standard Oil of Ohio, Lorain Coal & Dock, and A.E. Cole Die & Engraving Co. Former active member of Mifflin Presbyterian Church. Preceded in death by brother Russell Shull and husband Albert E. Cole. Survived by stepsons she nurtured as her own, Roger Cole of Columbus and Ronald (Ann) Cole of Blacklick; step-grandchildren, Catherine Cole of Lakewood, Oh., and Andrew Cole of Blacklick. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday at the SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd. (on US Route 62, * mile northeast of Hamilton Rd.), Gahanna. Graveside service and interment 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 3, 2001 at Mifflin Township Cemetery, Gahanna, with Pastor John J. Manos officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mifflin Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund, 123 Granville St., Gahanna, Ohio 43230 in her memory.
