Visitation Friday 3-5 p.m. at MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 2697 Columbus St., Grove City, where funeral will be Saturday 10 a.m. Pastor Ken Kirk officiating. Interment Concord Cemetery. BURCHWELL Epsie Burchwell, 91, of Orient, passed away April 4, 2001 at Monterey Care Center. Born July 5, 1909 in Redbush, KY. Survived by son, Orban (Margaret) Burchwell; daughter, Cora Ann (Andrew) Paul; grandchildren, Randall (Kellianne) Burchwell, Gregory (Valerie) Burchwell, Tamara (James) Ahlstrom, Julie (John) Hanshaw, Coreen (Jeffrey) Poffenberger; 11 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by husband Olga K. in 1966, 4 sisters and 4 brothers. Friends may call Friday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the SCHOEDINGER-NORRIS CHAPEL, 3920 Broadway, Grove City, where service will be held Saturday 9:30a.m. Rev. John Cooper officiating. CARNEY Ernest "Tom" Carney, 78 of Columbus died Wednesday, April 4, 2001 in Mt. Carmel Hospital. Retired from Smitty's Body Shop. Survived by loving wife, Bernice; children, Dennis Carney, Terry Carney and girlfriend, Lori, Jeffrey (Tammy) Carney, Timothy (Angel) Carney; grandchildren, Annie, Melanie, Jabe, Kara, Chris, Casey, Angela, Ashley and Lee; great-grandchildren, Emily and Mary; brother, Stillman Carney; sisters, Nina Arledge, Blanche (Jack) Hettinger and Francis Ott; sister-in-law, Helen Carney. Friends may call Friday 6-9 p.m. at the SCHOEDINGER-NORRIS CHAPEL, 3920 Broadway, Grove City, where service will be held Saturday 11:30 a.m. Interment Oak Thorp Cemetery.

COMANITA Doris A. Comanita, 79, of New Philadelphia, Oh., passed away Tuesday, April 3, 2001 at Aultman Hospital in Canton following a short illness. Survivors include Mrs. Robert (Cheri) Eckert of New Philadelphia, Carol Comanita of Pickerington, Mrs. Christie Comanita and her husband, Robert Steinmetz of Chandler, Ariz. and Mrs. Scott (Jonni) Holdsworth of Warsaw, Ind.; 5 grandchildren; 2 granddogs, Max and Ally. A funeral mass will be held Saturday, April 7 at 11 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church in New Philadelphia, Oh. with Msgr. George J. Schlegel officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Burial Park at New Philadelphia where military rites will be conducted by the New Philadelphia Post of the V.F.W. A reception in the Geib Family Center will follow the committal. CURRY Evelyn B. Curry, age 92, Tuesday, April 3, 2001 at Arbors West Nursing Home. Member of Trinity Assembly of God Church. Evelyn was a volunteer at Doctors West Hospital for many years. Member of the Virginia Wrights Mothers Guild. Preceded in death by husband Ernest W. Survived by son, Timothy (Joan), Grove City; daughter, Linda (Roger) Corbin, Columbus; grandchildren, Rick, Rhawn, Corbin, Renee Buchanan, Erin Siemer, Kevin, Christopher Curry; great-grandchildren, Rachael Corbin, Riley Corbin and Collin Siemer; sister, Kathleen Weidinger, Washington C.H. Family will receive friends 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday, April 6, 2001 at JERRY SPEARS FUNERAL HOME, 2693 W. DIXON Robert E. Dixon, 79, of Columbus, died Sunday, April 1, 2001 at Ohio Veterans Home in Sandusky. Born August 26, 1921 in Wellston, Oh. He was a retired Manager for Rockwell after 30 years of service and a Navy Veteran of WW II. A member of the American Legion Post #371. Rob was extremely active in the community with youth activities, an avid card player, golfer and artist. He is preceded in death by his parents Erve Dixon and Tessie (Copas) Fry, brother Roger Dixon, sisters Regina Fry, Helen Burroughs, Phyllis Dixon, aunt Garnet Kerr, uncle Leslie Copas, sister-in-law Glenna Dixon, brother-in-law Jim Midlick. He is survived by loving wife of 48 years, Alice (Midlick); daughter, Kellie J. (Vincent B.) Donohoe; son, Kerry J. (Lana S.) Dixon, both of Marengo; grandchildren, Amber L. Dixon and Galie M. Donohoe; brother, Roy "Porky" Dixon of Arkansas; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Rudy and Eleanor Midlick, Ray and Rosie Midlick; sister-in-law, Helen Midlick; many friends, nieces, nephews; special friends and neighbors, James and Lucy Pack. Friends will be received 2-4 and 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday and 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Friday at SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Road. 1 p.m. Graveside service will follow Friday, April 6, 2001 at Northlawn Memory Gardens, 7060 State Route 3, Westerville, Oh.

FORDYCE LaRue Fordyce, 74, of Columbus, and formerly Lebanon, died Tuesday, April 3, 2001. Visitation Friday, April 6, 6-8 p.m. and Funeral Saturday, April 7, 10 a.m., all at the OSWALD-HOSKINS FUNERAL HOME, Lebanon.

GADDIS Mr. Cleo Gaddis, age 68, Saturday, March 31, 2001 at his residence. Born in Hattiesburg, MS. Preceded in death by parents, 4 brothers, 5 sisters, son Lee Earl Gaddis and granddaughter Andrea R. Gaddis. Survived by children, Patricia Gaddis, John (Ella) Gaddis, Allen (Ora Mae) Jordan; 7 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; mother of children, Dorothy Lee Gaddis; former wife, Lu Ella Gaddis; sister, Mary "Mae" Ella (Saint Elmo) Smith; niece, Ada R. Fowler; special friends, Tom Jones, Mr. Brown, Jeanie McClendon, Virginia Jones, Mrs. Nancy, Mrs. Thelma and Mr. James; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and close friends. GASTON Rev. Theodore R. Gaston, age 75, March 31, 2001 at the residence. He was the retired Pastor of Morningstar Baptist Church. Prior to his entering the ministry, he was employed at Franklin County Human Services. A Veteran of the U.S. Army. Preceded in death by his parents George and Bessie  Taylor Gaston and 3 sisters. Survived by his loving and devoted wife of 56 years, Beulah Gray Gaston; daughters, Gwendolyn (Herbert) Minneyfield, Marianne Banks, Cassandra (Ron) Lewis, Sylvia (Michael) Singer, Charmaine Dandridge; sons, Ronald (Sharon), Melvin (Odessa) and Kenneth (Quanita) Gaston; 25 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; Godchild, Jackie Peters; special children, Sharon, Tim, David and Mike Wollam; many other relatives and friends. HAINES Owen R. Haines, II, age 54, of Pataskala, passed away on Tuesday April 3, 2001. Beloved husband, father, brother and friend. Thirty one year employee of AT&T Long Lines/ Lucent Technologies. Veteran, U.S. Army, Vietnam. Preceded in death by his father Owen R. Haines, Sr., in 1986. Survived by his wife, Harriet Haines; sons, Owen R. Haines, III and Zachary H. Haines; mother, Lorna Haines; sisters, Andrea Sapon and Amalia Haines; relatives and dear friends. Funeral Service 1 p.m. Friday, April 6, 2001 at SCHOEDINGER EAST CHAPEL, 5360 E. HIGGS Rev. Otis Higgs, age 76, died March 24, 2001 in Ocala, Fla. U.S. Air Force veteran and POW. Survived by wife of 51 years, Emma Lou; daughter, Martha Ann (Bill) Godby and granddaughter, Chris Godby; son, Joe Higgs. Memorial Service Saturday 1 p.m. at Fourth Ave. Christian Church, Fourth and Neil Aves., from which Rev. Higgs retired in 1987.

HOLBERT Edward Lee Holbert, age 58, passed away Monday, April 2, 2001 at Wright Patterson Medical Center, Dayton, Oh. after a long illness. Retired from U.S. Army and veteran of Vietnam Conflict. Preceded in death by parents William and Gertie Holbert of Zanesville. Survived by wife, Phyllis; sons, Wesley Holbert of Columbus and Brandon Holbert of Wright State University, Dayton, Oh.; brother, Harold (Henrietta) Holbert; sisters, Rachel (Lee) Russell and Thelma (James) Williams; numerous nieces and nephews; host of friends. Friends may call at the O.R. WOODYARD CO. CHAPEL, 1346 S. High St., Thursday from 5:30 p.m. until the time of the service at 7:30 p.m. Rev. Terry Newman officiating. HOTCHKISS Lillian Eileen Hotchkiss, age 77, of Westerville, Tuesday, April 3, 2001 at O.S.U. Hospital East. Member of the Gahanna Community Congregational Church, Ida McKinley Chapter OES, Niles, Oh.; Bronwyn Welsh Club of Niles. She was a 1941 graduate of Niles McKinley High School; 1944 graduate of Baldwin Wallace College; Member of Phi Mu Sorority. Lillian taught Math and History for 24 years at Howland High School. She is also past President of the Columbus Women's Club. She is survived by husband of 48 years, Rev. Joe V. Hotchkiss; sister, Leah Schisler; nephews and nieces, Robert (Stacy) Hotchkiss, Sam Schisler, Tom (Susie) Schisler, Nancy Schisler and Lanet (David) Kubena; great-nephews and nieces, Andrew and Danielle Kubena, Laurin Schisler and Lee Schisler. Memorial Service 1 p.m. Saturday, April 7, 2001 at the Gahanna Community Congregational Church, 470 Havens Corners Road, Gahanna, Oh., where the family will receive friends from 12noon Saturday until Service. Pastor John Deuble and Dr. Roger Wagner officiating. Private family interment. HOUGLAND Louise Alice Hougland, age 87, of Westerville, died April 3, 2001 at Wesley Glen. She was the daughter of Ernest and Mary Hamann of Mattoon, IL. She was preceded in death by her husband James Hougland, parents, brothers and sisters. She is survived by sister, Loraine Meyer of Mattoon, IL; and nephews, Don Bariether and Charles Hamann; nieces, Lillian Parker, Eileen Hood, Irene Purcell, Barbara Osborne and Mary Louise Garretson. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Dublin, Oh. Funeral service will be at the Schilling Funeral Home in Mattoon, IL. Interment at Dodge Grove Cemetery, Mattoon, IL. Local arrangements by the HILL FUNERAL HOME, Westerville. Memorial contributions may be to the American Diabetes. Association, 937 High St. Worthington, OH 43085.
