JARVIS Lawrence Ray Jarvis, age 68, passed on to be with our Lord, Monday, April 9, 2001 at O.S.U. Hospital. Born May 27, 1932 to the late Orlo and Marie Jarvis. Preceded in death by brother William Gail Jarvis, grandson Nathanial Lawrence Stout and daughter-in-law Tracey Jarvis. Survived by his wife of 44 years, Carole Marlene Jarvis of Mt. Vernon; daughter and son-in-law, Tambra Lawrene and Michael Stout of Granville; son, Steven S. Jarvis and fiancé Twila Wheeler of Mt. Vernon; grandchildren, Rachel Stout, Ashley and Séance Jarvis; sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Pete McConnell. Larry retired from Ohio Operating Engineers, Local Eighteen and Caretree Systems with combined 45 years of service. He served with the Navy during the Korean War. He was a kind man and a loving husband and father. The family wishes to thank the entire staff of the Surgical Intensive Care Unit at O.S.U. for the care they gave. KEITH William R. Keith, Jr., age 72, of Amlin, Oh., formerly of Glouster and Murray City, died April 11, 2001 at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus, Oh. Born in Glouster, Oh. on December 3, 1927, son of the late William R. Keith Sr. and Opal Carpenter Keith. Retired from Conrail. Army Veteran. Member of American Legion in Hilliard and Moose Lodge in Hilliard. Survived by son and daughter-in-law, Marc D. and Paula M. Keith of Belmont, N.H.; brothers, Richard Keith of Glouster, Oh., Larry (Sam) Keith of Newark, Oh., Danny Keith of Hilliard, Oh.; sisters, Betty Rees of Hilliard, Oh., Ann Lemoine of Glouster, Oh., Alice Noon of Caldwell, Oh. and Connie Stahl of Franklin, Oh. Preceded in death by parents, wife Bonnie L. Shuttleworth Keith, who died March 10, 1998, sisters Mary Helen Funk and Bertine Stevens and brothers Chester Keith and Jack Keith. Visitation Friday 7-9 p.m. at BROWN FUNERAL HOME, Murray City, Oh., where service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 14, 2001. Burial Maplewood Cemetery, Glouster, Oh. military graveside service will be conducted by the Combined Color Guard Unit.

KULKA Marcelle A. Kulka, 71, formerly of Mansfield, passed away Tuesday evening, April 10, 2001 in Columbus at Westminster Thurber Center following an extended illness. Marcelle was born in Mansfield on January 23, 1930 to Joseph and Mary Stash Chelsky. She worked for the YMCA Daycare Program and enjoyed traveling, cooking and swimming. Marcelle was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church where she was active in the St. Peter's Mother's Club. She was also a member of the National Association of Accountants Wives and the Ka-Cetts. Marcelle is survived by her husband, Robert J. Kulka of Erie, Pa.; 3 sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas and Trisha Kulka of Columbus, Edward and Barbara Kulka of Mansfield, Kenneth and Becky Kulka of Columbus; 1 daughter and son-in-law, Andrea and Jeff Gotschall of Columbus; mother, Mary Chelsky; sister, Mary Ellen Chelsky, both of Mansfield; 7 grandchildren; father-in-law, John Kulka of Mansfield; brother-in-law, Richard (Joyce) Kulka; sister-in-law, Pat Chelsky. She was preceded in death by her father Joseph and brother Thomas Chelsky. Friends may call at GEIGER-HERLIHY FUNERAL HOME, 173 Park Ave. West, Mansfield on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., where vigil prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday at St. Peter's Catholic Church at 1 p.m. Burial will be in Mansfields Catholic Cemetery. KYLE (ROWLAND) A. Jane (Rowland) Kyle, age 95, a longtime resident of Clintonville and most recently a resident of Wesley Glen, died Thursday, April 12, 2001 at Kobacker House, Hospice at Riverside. MARTIN Hattie Martin, 76, Tuesday, April 10, 2001, Eastland Care Center. Preceded in death by husband Thomas Martin, Jr., sons Jessie J. and Frank J. Martin, grandson "Big Wayne" Murphy. Survived by sons, Thomas, Willie, Fred and Sentell Martin; daughters, Gloria Morris, Lola and Vickie Martin; 21 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends. Visitation and viewing will be held on Saturday, April 14 from 11 a.m.-12noon, at WAYNE T. LEE FUNERAL SERVICE, 1370 E. Main St. Funeral Service and Interment will take place in Montgomery, AL.

PATRICK Phillip Patrick, Sr., 72, of Columbus, Oh., passed away on Thursday, April 5, 2001 in OSU East Medical Center. Private services were held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements by the PORTER-QUALLS FUNERAL HOME, Springfield Chapel.

PAULEY Howard Pauley, 74, April 8, 2001, Mt. Carmel Medical Center. Retired Regional Manager for Western Union. Member of Brookshire United Methodist Church. U.S. Army Veteran, Korean War. PELTON Helen D. Pelton, age 82, a long-time resident of Clintonville, died Tuesday, April 10, 2001 at the Convalarium at Indian Run. Retired teacher from Columbus Public Schools and taught in the New Holland School System. Preceded in death by parents George and Edna Smith Dusler; sister Betty Winning and granddaughter Tamara Joan Pelton. Survived by husband of 61 years, John Z. Pelton; son, John D. (Beverly) Pelton, Dublin; daughter, Sally (Truman) Heicher, Grays Lake, Ill.; grandchildren, Laurie (Michael) Coon, Davenport, Iowa, John (Lori) Heicher, Hilliard, Julie (Darrell) Fletcher, Dublin, Jennifer (Richard) Wagner, Royal Oak, Mich. and Stacie Pelton, Dublin; great-grandchildren, Thomas and Michael Coon, Rebecca Heicher, J.D. and Will Fletcher and Joseph Wagner; several nieces and nephews. Member of Crestview Presbyterian Church where she was an organist and Deaconess. She co-founded the Crestview Presbyterian Church Couples Club. Member of Clintonville Woman's Club. PHILPOT Zelpha Philpot, age 85, of Hilliard, formerly of Indianapolis, Ind., went home to be with her Lord Wednesday, April 11, 2001 at Doctors West Hospital. Preceded in death by her husband Elhanon, son Denver and parents Joseph and Anna Morgan. Member of Mounts Runn Baptist Church of Zionsville, Ind. Attended Dublin Baptist Church. Survived by her loving daughter and son-in-law, Virgilla "Vi" and Tim Sellers of Hilliard; daughter-in-law, Debbie Philpot; grandchildren, Rachel (Dave) Ratliff, Tim (Julie) Sellers, Danny (Christina) Sellers, Shannon (Steve) Callahan and Angela Philpot; great-grandchildren, Joshua, Jacob, Kari, Gianmarco, Tyler and Joseph; sisters, Nancy Reed and Opal (Earl) Williams; brothers, Junior (Sharon) Morgan, Fred (Rosie) Morgan, Lee (Ruth) Morgan and Dale (Loretta) Morgan; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends. POSTON Warren A. Poston, age 89, of Whitehall, passed away April 12, 2001 at the Pataskala Oaks Care Center. Retired from 7-Up Bottling Co. after 51 years in the beverage business. Life member of Loyal Order of Moose #11, Columbus Merchants Representatives Association, Eagles Lodge. Member Gender Road Christian Church formerly Southeast Christian Church. Survived by wife of 70 years, Kathryn; son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Sally Poston; daughter and son-in-law, Joan and Dick Larkins; grandchildren, Rick (Debbie), Carol (Rich), Steve (Kelly), Scott (Susan) and Melissa; 13 great-grandchildren. STORY Kitty M. Story, age 100, passed away, April 11, 2001 at Worthington Christian Village. She retired from Columbus Public Schools and a 60 year member of Glenwood United Methodist Church. Kitty and Clarence were very active in the Hilltop Community over the years. Preceded in death by husband Clarence B. and son Donald Story. Survived by daughter, Marilyn (Eric) Holt; grandchildren, Derek (Kathy) and Laura Brainard; great grandson, Matthew; niece, Jennifer Boutselis. SWARTZ Ann Elizabeth (Richards) Swartz, age 50, the strongest, most courageous person in the world, left to be with her beloved grandmother on Tuesday, April 10, 2001. She fought the good fight and was strong to the end. For those who knew her, she will always be remembered for her forthrightness, passion and love of the important things in life- people, simple pleasures, time spent with her best friend and soul mate. She is survived by her loving husband, Christopher Swartz; her son, John Haller; her mother, Lucy Richards; sisters, Kathryn Richards, Sarah (Bill) Koch; brother, John (Carol) Richards; niece, Christine Richards; nephews, John Adam Richards, Matthew and Andrew Koch; numerous cousins. Ann worked at Worldcom, was a successful, competitive rower with the Greater Columbus Rowing Association, with medals from the Canadian Henley to the U.S. Masters Nationals. She loved the ocean, the rocky coast of Maine, and lobster rolls. She laughed with her husband over silly things- the Three Stooges, Monty Python, and the Marx Brothers. She was a joy to all that knew her because she was honest, open, and unforgettable. She will be sorely missed every day. She and her husband, Chris, appreciated all the support, cards, flowers, etc. from family and friends during the past 3 years. WEEKLY Earl Eugene Weekly, Sr., age 83, of Lake Choctaw, died Tuesday, April 10, 2001 at Arbors East. Retired in 1984 as a Building Inspector at The Ohio State University. Veteran U.S. Army in WW II, he participated in the Invasion of Normandy. He also served in the Rhineland, the Ardennes, Central Europe and Northern France. He was awarded the European and African Medals and the Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with 5 Bronze Stars. He attended Grace Lutheran Church and was a member of the West  Jefferson VFW Post #7005 and the Eagles Aerie #950 in London, Ohio. Preceded in death by sons George Kearns and Michael Keerns and a sister Leona Price. He is survived by Imogene Weekly; sons, Earl Weekly II and wife, Mary Weekly of Columbus, Joseph Kearns of Columbus; daughters and sons-in-law, Mary (Dennis) Nielsen of New Albany and Nancy (Frank) Duff of Columbus; 9 grandchildren, 1 great-grandson, and 1 great granddaughter; a nephew, Ronald Price of Reynoldsburg.
