Liverpool, daughter of the late Eber D. and Minnie Ringwald Cooper. Lived most of her life in E. Liverpool, moving to Columbus in 1995. Member First United Methodist Church in East Liverpool, Susanna Wesley Circle and Esther Bible Club, Miriam Circle of Penn. Ave. Methodist Church. Member Crystal Chapter, Eastern Star Chapter #18. Graduate of E. Liverpool High School, Class of 1936. Member of E. Liverpool High School Alumni Association. Preceded in death by her husband whom she married April 21, 1946, Allen F. Goodman, April 18. 1988 and 2 brothers Bill Cooper and Eber Cooper Jr. Survived by daughters, Mrs. Gregory (Lynne) Talbott of Columbus, Oh. and Mrs. George (Dianne) Stokes of Sarasota, Fla.; sisters, Mrs. Thelma Clarke of Toronto, Oh. and Mrs. Evelyn Bruce of Talmadge, Oh.; 4 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild. Services were held Wednesday, April 18 with burial in Riverview Cemetery. Arrangements by DAWSON FUNERAL HOME, E. Liverpool, Oh. Family requests contributions be made to First United Methodist Church, 200 W. 5th St., E. Liverpool, Oh.

GOULKER Isabell Goulker, age 89, died Tuesday April 17, 2001 at her residence for the past 7 years, Broadview Health Care Center, Columbus, Oh. She was preceded in death by her husband Carl E. Goulker of Tiffin, Oh. and her sisters Alice Lovell and Violet Kedersha of New Jersey. She is survived by her only son, Paul E. (Cindy) Goulker of Gahanna, Oh.; her brother, Dr. Henry Kedersha and sister, Rose Kedersha of New Jersey; many friends from churches, work places and at Broadview Health Center. Isabell was amongst the millions of immigrants that entered the United States in the early 1900's via Ellis Island in New York City along with her parents, Jacob and Almast from Diabekir, Turkey. She was a dedicated and valued employee of the Prudential Insurance Co. of Newark, N.J. and the Irvington, N.J. Board of Education for many years. After retirement she moved to Columbus, OH with her husband Carl in 1980. She was a wonderful mother and dedicated loving wife and throughout the years had an amazing ability to make many friends wherever she went. Isabell will be missed by many, especially her son Paul, who was never more proud of the courage she exhibited in her final days. Public viewing and family will receive friends at SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Rd., Columbus, Oh., Friday, April 20, 2001 from 6-9 p.m. Funeral Service and burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday April 21, 2001 at the Fairmont Cemetery in Tiffin, Oh.

GRIGGS Norman "Patrick" Griggs, age 65, passed away Tuesday, April 17, 2001 at University Hospitals East. Past employee of the U.S. Postal Service. U.S. Marine Veteran with 13 years service. Life time member of the VFW. Survived by wife, Deborah L. Griggs; special companion and caregiver, Polly Bowers; sons, Tony (Betty) Griggs, Norman (Catherine) Griggs, James Bowers, Jack E. Griggs and Tim Griggs; daughters, Edith Griggs and Lorna C. (James) Russell; step-daughters, Erma (Mike) Hurt and Patricia Griggs; 11 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 6 brothers and their families; many nieces and nephews. GUGGENBILLER Alex Joseph Guggenbiller, 23 days old, of Columbus, Oh., died 5:10 p.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2001 at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus, Oh. Born March 25, 2001 in Columbus, Oh. Survived by parents, Carla (Dirksen) and Dwain Guggenbiller of Columbus, Oh.; sister and brother, Holly Guggenbiller, age 3* and Matthew Guggenbiller, age 2; maternal grandparents, Margie (Post) and Richard Dirksen of Maria Stein; paternal grandparents, Connie (Hoying) and Ralph Guggenbiller of Ft. Recovery, Oh.; great-grandfather, Herman J. Hoying of St. Henry, Oh.; numerous relatives and friends of the family. Member St. Margaret of Cortona Catholic Church, Columbus, Oh. HEISE Robert E. Heise, age 81, of Columbus, died Tuesday, April 17, 2001 at St. Ann's Hospital. He was a U.S. Navy veteran having served in the Pacific during WW II. He retired from the City of Columbus. Preceded in death by his parents Earl and Lilly Heise, brothers Nelson and Jim Heise and sister Anna Simonds. Survived by his wife of nearly 55 years, Jacqueline Heise; daughters, Earlene, Arlene and Jeneanne Heise; grandchildren, Kimberly (Dan) Sparks, Tim  Johnson and Howard Heise; great-grandchildren, Brandy, Justin and Jordan Sparks; sister, Edna Robinson. Visitation Thursday, April 19 from 5-8 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER EAST CHAPEL, 5360 E. Livingston Ave. Service of committal 12Noon Saturday in the Forest Lawn Mausoleum Chapel. KENNEDY Jack K. Kennedy, 76, of Columbus, died Monday, April 16, 2001 at St. Ann's Hospital after a courageous battle for life. He retired from The Ohio State University Electric Department after 30 years of service. Preceded in death by father Daniel and mother Mary Rodgers Kennedy, brothers Daniel, Robert and sister Frances Dunlap, granddaugher Breanne Amber Kennedy. Survived by his wife of 53 years, Imogene Robson; children, Kenneth (Karen), Sandra (Harry) Lyons, Rick (Kay), Frances (David) Kennedy-Cornelius, Jacqueline (Edward) Brofford; 11 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. He was a member of Neoacacia Lodge #595 F&AM, York Temple Council #115 R&SM, Columbus Commandery #69 Knights Templar Lodge Council Chapter Consistory A.A.S.R., Valley of Columbus, Aladdin Temple Shrine, Linden Shrine Club, Achbar Grotto of Columbus, Franklin County Memorial Lodge F&AM, and Registrar Unit of Aladdin Temple. He was a 46 year member of the Boy Scouts of America, positions included: Cub ScoutMaster, and Assistant District Commissioner-Arrowhead District, member of the Order of the Arrow and Wood Badge recipient. Served in WW II in the USN, aboard the U.S.S. Kennebago and the U.S.S. Sepulga. Member of Linden Lutheran Church. 25 year member of the O.S.U. Scarlet Golf League. Funeral Service will be held 10 a.m. Friday, April 20, 2001 at SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Road, where friends will be received Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Rev. Darryl D. Larson officiating. Commandery service 7 p.m. and Masonic Service 7:30 p.m. Thursday. Interment Union Cemetery. LAFLIN "Ella" Birdene Laflin, age 67, passed away Tuesday, April 17, 2001. Preceded in death by husband Carl. Survived by son, Charles (Amy) Laflin; daughter, Margaret (Paul) Engelman; grandchildren, Kayla, Christy, Daniel and Philip; 3 sisters; 2 brothers. Friends may call at the O.R. WOODYARD CO. CHAPEL, 1346 S. High St., Thursday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., where the service will be held Friday 3 p.m. Pastor Dale George officiating. Interment Obetz Cemetery.

LEIGH Catherine A. Leigh, age 79, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister, passed away after an heroic and lengthy struggle with chronic illnesses on Good Friday, April 13, 2001. She was preceded in death by her husband William F. Leigh Sr., daughter Catherine T. Curington, sons Williams F. Leigh Jr. and Thomas E. Leigh. She is survived by her daughter, Gloria L. Leigh; son, Major General Ret. Fredric H. Leigh (Karyn); daughter, Alice Peoples (Gregory); 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sisters, Henrietta Hairston, Marguerite Walker and Vanessa Rush; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was a graduate of Capital University in Columbus. She was a member of Eta Phi Beta Sorority and Corpus Christi Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 200 Homewood Ave. at Forest Ave. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. LLOYD Joseph W. Lloyd, born February 28, 1918, died Monday, April 16, 2001 in Logan, Oh. Lt. USMC, Veteran WW II. Retired from Penn Salt Corp. in Wyandotte, Mich. Active member of Reynoldsburg VFW Post #9473. Survived by daughter, Loletta Sue (Art) Williams of Logan, Oh.; 4 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by wife of 20 years Rosalie. LOCKE Mrs. Elenora Carroll Locke, age 59, passed Sunday, April 15, 2001 at her residence. Member of Chruch of Christ of the Apostolic Faith. Survived by husband, Robert Locke; children, Tammie Moore, Kim Locke and Lewis Locke; grandchildren, Tanika Johnson, Stacy Hall, Tajuan Locke; great-grandchildren, Ashley and Domique. Service of memory Thursday 2 p.m., Chapel of DIEHL-WHITTAKER FUNERAL CHAPEL, 720 E. Long St. Dr. Eugene Lundy officiating. LOHMAN Shirley Mae Lohman, age 76, died Wednesday, April 18, 2001. She was born February 22, 1925 in Lyons, N.Y. to Gilbert and Harriet Edwards. She attended Alfred University in Lyons and retired from Ohio Bell. She is preceded in death by Frank Lohman, to whom she was married for 40 years and grandson Willie Calderone. Also preceded in death by her parents, brother Gilbert Edwards and sister Ellen Wunder of Newark, N.Y. She is survived by 9 children, Fran (Chuck) Reed, London, Oh., Barry, Chicago, Ill., Sherry Livingston, Tampa, Fla., Laurie (Pat) Sheridan, Hilliard, Oh., Cindy, Clearwater, Fla., Marcia (Jim) Bocook, Columbus, Oh., Nina (Mike) Graham, Cold Springs, Ky., Rick (Cathy), Columbus, Oh., Eric (Anita), Belle Isle, Fla.; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. LONGEST John C. Longest, age 79, of Canal Winchester, formerly of Columbus, Wednesday, April 18, 2001 at his residence. Born June 7, 1921 in English, Indiana to the late John and Allison Longest. Retired from Westfield Insurance Co. Member of Maple Grove Methodist Church in Columbus and was attending Hope United Methodist Church in Canal Winchester. He was a WWII U.S. Navy veteran. Survived by his wife of 54 years, Bernice "Bee" Longest; children, Dianne (Mike) Mosbacher, Bainbridge, John (Becky) Longest, Canal Winchester, Robert Longest, Hilliard; grandchildren, Wendy (Daniel) Harder, Erin (Joe) Dembinski, Mindy (Mark) Hill, Kara (Adam) Winship, Jay, Tim, Matthew and Michael Longest; 9 great-grandchildren; brother, James (Maxine) Longest; sister, Katherine Richwine, both of Indiana; nieces and nephews. MAGNUSON Robert H. Magnuson, M.D., age 84, of Upper Arlington, died April 17, 2001 at his home. Dr. Magnuson was a graduate of Bexley High School, Class of 1934 and The Ohio State University College of Medicine, Class of 1941. He was a member of Beta Theta Pi Fraternity and Phi Chi Medical Honorary. He served his internship at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA. He was a Captain in the Army Medical Corps in the South Pacific during WW II, where he was Commanding Officer of the 424th Medical Collecting Company. Upon returning, he completed his residency in Ophthalmology at St. Luke's Hospital, Cleveland, and The Ohio State University. In 1949, he set up his practice on East Broad Street and later moved it to Zollinger Road, retiring in 1996. He served as Ophthalmologist to the Ohio State Penitentiary, The Ohio State University Athletic Teams, and Columbus State School for many years. He was also Professor Emeritus of the Ohio State University, College of Medicine. He was a member of numerous professional organizations and was the longtime secretary of the Ohio Opthalmological Society. He was an avid sportsman, fisherman and athlete. He was a member of Scioto Country Club, Zanesfield Trout Club and St. Timothy Catholic Church. He was a former member of Columbus Athletic Club, Downtown Rotary Club, the O.S.U. Faculty Club, and Columbus Maennerchor. He was preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Clara Magnuson, and brother, William Magnuson. Survived by his wife, Elizabeth; children, Cynthia (Dr.James) Apostolakis, James (Toni) Magnuson, Ellen (Dan) Huyett, and Tighe (Margaret) Magnuson; grandchildren, Dr. Louis (Ellen) and Robert Apostolakis, Erin, James, and Kelley Magnuson, Pat and Lisa Huyett, Emily, Will, and Bess Magnuson; sister, Betsy (Ted) Williams; brothers, Arthur (Ann) and Ted Magnuson. A prayer service will be held at 3:45 p.m. Thursday, April 19, 2001 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Road, where friends may call following the service, from 4-7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial, 10 a.m. Friday, April 20, 2001 at St. Timothy Catholic Church, 1088 Thomas Lane, Columbus, Oh. 43214. Interment Union Cemetery. METZ Everett A. Metz, age 92, of Westerville, Oh., April 18, 2001 at Kobacker House. Retired from Kauffman-Latimer Company after 38 years of service. Preceded in death by beloved wife of 60 years Nellie N.; brother John B. Metz. Survived by loving daughters, Ruth (Larry) Gwin of Westerville, Mary Ann (Len) Calhoun of Mansfield; 6 grandchildren, Steven (Lisa) Gwin, Jennifer (Andrew) Lewis, Suzanne Gwin and fiance, Paul Schmidt, Scott (Garilyn) Calhoun, Jennifer Calhoun and Eric Calhoun; 4 great-grandchildren, Grant and Brandon Gwin, Connor Lewis and Madeline Calhoun. MICHEL Ruth (Dickendesher) Michel, age 96, passed away Wednesday morning, April 18, 2001 at the New Albany Care Center. Long time member of St. John Lutheran Evangelical Church. Preceded in death by husband George Michel; brothers Henry, Albert, and Fred Dickendesher; sisters Freda Walpole-Mohr and Lillian Metzger. Survived by sister, Clara Dickendasher; several nieces and nephews. Friends may call JERRY SPEARS FUNERAL HOME, 2693 W. Broad St., Friday from 4-8 p.m. Funeral service 2 p.m. Saturday at St. John's Lutheran Evangelical Church, 2745 W. Broad St. Rev. Thomas Phillips officiating. Interment Sunset Cemetery.
