A Korean War Marine Veteran and former employee of Smith Brothers Hardware. Survived by wife of 32 years, Ruth (Current) Scott, Columbus; daughter, Julie B. (Kevin) Carter, Columbus; step-daughter, Jane Stephens, Wilmington; brothers, Russell (Jaimie) Scott of Robstown, Tex., Charles D. Scott of Corpus Christi, Tex. and Jack Scott of Maine; sister, Grace (Harold) Butler of Nordheim, Tex.; 2 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by brothers Leland, William and Marvin and sisters Betty and Dixie. Visitation will be held Saturday from 1-3 p.m. at RODMAN FUNERAL SERVICE, 5464 N. High St., Columbus, where funeral service will begin at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Edgewood Manor Care, 140 N. State St., Westerville, Oh. or Heartland Hospice of Columbus, 6500 Busch Blvd., Suite 210, Columbus, Oh. 43229.

SEIF Dale Seif, age 80, of Oak Ave., Waverly, died Wednesday evening at his residence. He was born on March 27, 1921 in Lexington, Oh. to the late Irvin D. and Mary Catherine Walker Seif. Surviving are his wife, Patricia Patterson Seif; 2 sons, M. Todd Seif and wife, Annabelle of Indianapolis, Ind., David Seif and wife, Elizabeth of Waverly; 2 grandsons, Dale and Kelly Seif of Waverly; sister, Joyce Dittmar of Zanesville. He was a businessman, a farmer, and a teacher. A member of Rotary Club of Pike County, American Legion of Waverly, Pike County Chamber of Commerce and The Ohio State University Alumni Association. Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Sunday at BOTKIN FUNERAL HOME, Waverly, where friends may call on Saturday from 2-6 p.m. and Sunday from 12noon-1 p.m. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. WILLIAMS Charles L. Williams, age 100, died Thursday, April 19, 2001 at Kobacker House. He was a farmer in Guernsey County who enjoyed nature and was active in the Timber Run Grange in Muskingum County. Preceded in death by wife Florence Ruth. Survived by sons, James R. (Elaine) Williams of Zanesville and G. Thomas (Marilyn) Williams of Zanesville; daughter, Jane Ann (Tom) Gebhardt of Columbus; grandchildren, Alan and Lynn Williams, Cathy Stemm, Tom Williams and Brandt Williams-Gebhardt; 6 great-grandchildren; niece, Barbara Sue Kreynus of Va. Memorial service 4 p.m. Saturday, April 21, 2001 at Dillon State Park beach pavilion in Zanesville. BACHELDER Ora L. Bachelder, age 78, of Columbus, died Friday, April 20, 2001 at Riverside Hospital. Preceded in death by parents Clarence and Mazie (Linn) Bachelder, brother Everett, sister Sylvia and grandson Larry James Bachelder. Survived by wife of 56 years, Ruth; son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Darlene Bachelder of Marengo; daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Bill Bates; 4 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren. Veteran U.S. Navy, WW II and retired from the 3-C Trucking Co. Member of Teamsters 413. BANKS Virginia A. Banks, 84, Wednesday, April 18, 2001 at the Grant Medical Center. Preceded in death by parents Wyman Castleberry, Sr. and Pearl Harmon, husband Charles W. Banks, brothers Rev. Wade Castleberry and Wayne Castleberry, Jr. Survived by brother, Robert (Edith) Castleberry; sister-in-law, Mattie Castleberry; devoted cousin and caregiver, Margaret Fields; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. BOCOOK Margaret Mae Bocook, age 89, passed away Friday, April 20, 2001 at Riverside Hospital. Preceded in death by husband Paul and son Bruce Buckley. Survived by grandson, Bruce Buckley; daughter-in-law, Mona Buckley. Friends may call at the O.R. WOODYARD CO. CHAPEL, 1346 S. High St., Sunday 1 p.m. until the time of the service at 3 p.m. Private burial will take place Monday at Green Lawn Cemetery.

CARLISLE Louise (Eyerman) Carlisle, age 91, Wednesday, April 18, 2001 at St. Raphael's Home for the Aged. She was born August 16, 1909 in Columbus, Oh. and married Harold Walter Carlisle, who preceded her in death. Louise was a retired a secretary for the Columbus Dispatch Printing Co. and from the Columbus AAA. She was a member of St. Agatha's Women's Club, Wolfe Quarter Century Club, St. Leo's Young at Heart Club and recently resided at St. Raphael's. She is preceded in death by 4 sisters. Survived by daughter, Eugenia L. Ketterl of Denver, Colo.; grandchildren, Andrew Caldwell and Mary Caldwell of Colo.; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Friends received Sunday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., at the MAEDER-QUINT-TIBERI FUNERAL HOME, 1068 S. High St. Mass of Christian Burial Monday 10:30 a.m., Our Mother of Sorrows Chapel, 6440 S. High St. Msgr. CARPENTER (VanDeWalle) Robert Wayne VanDeWalle Carpenter, age 65, of New Straitsville, Wednesday, April 18, 2001 at Riverside Hospital. Self employed Master Carpenter/Contractor. Active and devoted member AA. Survived by daughter, Cathy (Robert) Fair, Columbus; sons, Bob VanDeWalle, Groveport, Michael (Esther) VanDeWalle, Calif.; grandchildren, Amanda and Joshua VanDeWalle; sister, Susan Taylor, Worthington; brother, Lynn VanDeWalle, Westerville; half-brother, Rex Shirley, Calif.; special friend, "Bear"; nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents Katherine and A.O. VanDeWalle and Wayne Shirley. CLAY Jack Raymond Clay, 75, went home to be with his Lord surrounded by his loving family, Friday, April 20, 2001. A veteran of WW II having served with the U.S. Navy. He retired from Herman Falter Packing Co. as a salesman. A member of Karl Road Baptist Church where he belonged to "Primetimers". Also a member of the Scioto Model A Club and "Still Going Strong". He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Barbara; children, Jack Roger (Henrietta) Clay and Pamela D. McGlone; son-in-law, Mark McGlone; grandsons, Douglas (Alissa) and Brett McGlone; the light of his life, great-granddaughter, Kaelyn Marie McGlone. Family will receive friends Sunday 3-6 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Road. The funeral service will be held on Monday, April 23, 2001, 11 a.m. at Karl Road Baptist Church, 5750 Karl Road. Dr. William Bowser officiating. CRANDALL Rita M. Crandall, age 71, of Powell, died Thursday, April 19, 2001 at Mt. Carmel West Hospital. Preceded in death by husband Louis E. Crandall. Survived by children, Louis E. Crandall III of San Juan, Puerto Rico, Diane L. (Fred) McMullen of Westerville, William S. Crandall of Fla.; grandchildren, Sharon, Mark, Kelly, Drew McMullen; sisters, Hilda (Chas) Smiley of Mo., Ginny (Ed) Krebs of Mo., Dorothy Brenner of Calif. DYE Celebrating the life of Mary Kennedy Russell Dye, born in Pomeroy, Oh., April 4, 1915, Easter Day to parents Helen Brown Lindsay and Ralston Russell. Graduated from Pomeroy High School and The Ohio State University, cum laude, a member of Phi Beta Kappa and Pi Beta Phi. She received an Amy Burnham Award from the Beta Province, President of Pi Beta Phi, 1936-37. Mary was an active member of the Episcopal Church, chairman of the United Thank Offering of Southwest Florida, Daughters of the King, lay order of the Episcopal Church, ECW, Lay Eucharist Minister, an active member of the Southwest Diocese, member of the Vestry, Lay Reader and member of the board, and an active member of the Cruisillo Community. She was the beloved wife of William H.H. "Tippy" Dye for 63 years; loving mother, grandmother and mother-in-law of Stephanie D. Carnegie, William H.H. "Tippy" Dye III, Mary L. Haase, son-in-law, Karl C. Haase, Laura D. Carnegie, Mary K. Dye, Jody L. Dye, Roger A. Carnegie, Sally Blatchford Dye; loving aunt of Mike and Caroline Dye and family, Betsy Dye, Lindsey and Bob Ein and families, Andrea and Doug MacDaid and family, Susie and Steve Roby and families, Matt and Mia Mitchell and family, Cindy and Emerson Brown and family, and all her baseball boys and families all over the country. Preceded in death by her husband Charles Richard Eichhorn, sisters Gloria Dishman and Frances Sparks, granddaughter Kellee Michele. Survived by her sister, Phyllis "Corkey" Hull; children, Katherine Marie Stewart, Joyce Rae Eichhorn, Debra Sue Johnston, Laura Lee Carmany, Joseph Carl Eichhorn and Alice Lynn Hall; 11 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild. Member of St. Johns Evangelical Protestant Church, 59 E. Mound St. Lifetime member of Southway Post #144. Preceded in death by husband of 51 years Paul M. Fisher. Survived by daughters, Janet (John) Cahill and Jane (Paul) Blackburn; grandchildren, John II (Heather) and Scott (Jennifer) Fisher, Jennifer (Shawn) Thornton and Joey Blackburn; great-grandchildren, Katie and Jeremy Fisher, Cheyenne and Shawn Thornton and baby Cahill - due in the fall of 2001; many special friends and relatives. HANRAHAN Loma J. Hanrahan, 89, formerly of Delaware, Tuesday, April 17, 2001 in Santa Barbara, Calif. Born April 15, 1912 in Sunbury to the late Perle and Winona Whitney Stanforth. She had worked at Ohio Wesleyan University in the alumni records office. An active member of St. Mary Church, past president of the Altar and Rosary Society. Volunteered with a number of local organizations including Meals on Wheels, American Red Cross, past president of the Sarah Moore Home Service Board and the Jane M. Case Hospital Auxiliary. Enjoyed sewing, playing bridge, gardening and especially tending to her roses. Survived by daughter, Mary Sue Marks of Livermore, Calif.; son, Bill Hanrahan of Santa Barbara, Calif.; grandson, John Patrick Marks of Pleasanton, Calif. Preceded in death by her husband in 1978, John P. Hanrahan, who operated the former Hanrahan-Pletcher Funeral Home in Delaware and sister Angeline Baker.
