Van VORCE George J. Van Vorce, 61, of Warrington, Pa., died Thursday, April 19, 2001 at his residence. Born in Binghamton, N.Y., son of the late Elmer and Anna (Feja) Van Vorce. Police Officer from January 1969 to February 1989 with the City of Ithaca Police Department, N.Y. U.S. Air Force Veteran. Active with the Boy Scouts of America in Lrumansburg, N.Y. Founder of the Police Explorers Post of the City of Ithaca. Member of Retired Police Association, State of N.Y., Ithaca Police Benevolent Association, Police Conference of New York. PBA member; Union of Police Officers, Elks, Ithaca NY Lodge #636 (since 1988), Amvets-life member since 1996. Survived by wife, Elizabeth (Simpson) Van Vorce; his children, Paul W. Van Vorce of Aurora, N.Y. and Wendy A. Juenger of Mountainville, N.Y.; brother, Thomas G. Van Vorce of Harpersville; sisters, Florence Wells of Baldwinsville, N.Y. and Elizabeth Corey of Sloan, N.Y.; 3 grandchildren. WARD Mildred Ward, age 81, of Hebron, passed away Friday, April 20, 2001 at her home. She was a waitress at Willards Restaurant in Bexley for 12 years. She is preceded in death by 4 brothers and 2 sisters. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Earl B. Ward; sons, Thomas "Pete" Owens, Don (Joetta) Ward and Larry Ward; daughter, Janis (Kenny) Cline; 8 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren. Her family will receive friends Sunday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the COTNER FUNREAL HOME, 7369 E. Main St., Reynoldsburg, where her funeral will be Monday at 11 a.m. Interment Glen Rest Memorial Estate.

WEST Mrs. Mamie West, age 66. Service of Memory Wednesday 10 a.m., chapel of DIEHL-WHITTAKER FUNERAL SERVICE, 720 E. Long St. Mrs. West will lie in state Tuesday after 2 p.m. at the mortuary, where the family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m.

WOOLUM Kaylee Rae Woolum, born February 2, 2001 and passed away Thursday April 19, 2001 at Children's Hospital. The daughter of Billy Ray Woolum Jr. and Tonya Faye Short, and also survived by grandparents, Billy Woolum Sr. and Shirley Woolum, Donald and Bonnie Short, Delighla Waters; brother, Keaton Ray Woolum; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Kaylee will be greatly missed. Our little angel touched many hearts. Goodbye baby angel. Love forever and always, Mommy and Daddy. ALEXANDER Ermalene Akers Alexander, age 65, of Upper Arlington, died Friday, April 20, 2001 at her residence after a courageous battle with cancer. She attended Ohio University and The University of Mississippi. Erma was a member of the Columbus Board of Realtors. She was preceded in death by her parents Earl and Susan Akers; sisters Bettie Allman and Sharon Akers; brothers Ed Akers and David Akers; and son Jeffrey D. Alexander. Erma is survived by her daughters, Audrey L. Alexander, of Columbus, and Elizabeth (Travis) Alexander Bedwell, of New York; sisters, Mary Hannon, Emma Grow, and Lana Adams; brothers, Richard Akers, Roger Akers and Danny Akers; former husband, Donald V. Alexander, of Columbus; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends 2-5 p.m. Sunday at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Rd., Columbus, where the funeral service will be held 11:30 a.m. Monday, April 23, 2001. BERGMAN Sue Bergman, 52, of Columbus died Thursday, April 19, 2001 at home. Preceded in death by husband Robert and parents Delmar and Drutha Sexton. CARLISLE Louise (Eyerman) Carlisle, age 91, Wednesday, April 18, 2001 at St. Raphael's Home for the Aged. She was born August 16, 1909 in Columbus, Oh. and married Harold Walter Carlisle, who preceded her in death. Louise was a retired a secretary for the Columbus Dispatch Printing Co. and from the Columbus AAA. She was a member of St. Agatha's Women's Club, Wolfe Quarter Century Club, St. Leo's Young at Heart Club and recently resided at St. Raphael's. She is preceded in death by 4 sisters. Survived by daughter, Eugenia L. Ketterl of Denver, Colo.; grandchildren, Andrew Caldwell and Mary Caldwell of Colo.; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. CLAY Jack Raymond Clay, 75, went home to be with his Lord surrounded by his loving family, Friday, April 20, 2001. A veteran of WW II having served with the U.S. Navy. He retired from Herman Falter Packing Co. as a salesman. A member of Karl Road Baptist Church where he belonged to "Primetimers". Also a member of the Scioto Model A Club and "Still Going Strong". He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Barbara; children, Jack Roger (Henrietta) Clay and Pamela D. McGlone; son-in-law, Mark McGlone; grandsons, Douglas (Alissa) and Brett McGlone; the light of his life, great-granddaughter, Kaelyn Marie McGlone; brother, Dwight Clay; beloved nieces and nephews. DAVIS Basil E. (Benny) Davis, age 90, passed away Saturday, April 21, 2001 at Monterey Care Center. He was born in Pickaway Co. Retired from Columbus and Southern Ohio Electric Co. with 40 years of service. A 50 year member of the following organizations: Westgate Lodge # 623 F&AM, Scottish Rite, and the Grove City OES Chapter #502. Preceded in death by his parents Jesse and Hazel (Malone) Davis. Survived by his wife of nearly 65 years, Helen (Roese) Davis; sons and daughters-in-law Donald J. DEVANEY James M. Devaney, age 73, died Friday April 20, 2001. Preceded in death by his parents John E. and Helen Devaney. Survived by his children, Kathy (Tom) Athey, Patti (Jim) Hoffman, John (Sally) Devaney, Terri (David) Aeling; 14 grandchildren; sister Mary Lou (Frank) Kreber; special friend Nancy Meige; adopted children from a former marriage Mindy and Kenny. Former milkman with Bordens and a retired store owner. Navy veteran of WW II and an Army veteran of Korea. Member of the Knights of Columbus and the VFW of Whitehall. DUNN Harry C. Dunn, age 80, died Friday, April 20, 2001 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. Born August 1, 1920 in McKinney, Ky. Preceded in death by parents Elmer Brown Dunn and Della Mae (Hoagland) Dunn; brother Elmer Brown Dunn, Jr; and sister Marie Simon. He was honorably discharged from The United States Air Force in 1945 having earned a Bronze Star with the 91st Troop Carrier Squadron for service above and beyond the call of duty. Retired from Smith Brothers Hardware following thirty-eight years of service. He was a member of Indianola Presbyterian Church. He is survived by his wife, Ruth of fifty-four years; daughter, Susan (Tom) Bell; son, Robert (Mary Beth) Dunn; grandchildren, Cham and Brooke Bell, Andrew and Michael Dunn; sister, Frances Bradford of Galesburg, Ill.; and brother Charles Dunn of Centerberg, Oh. Family will receive friends at the RUTHERFORD-CORBIN FUNERAL HOME, WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, Worthington on Monday, April 23, 2001 from 7-9 p.m. Private family burial will be held later. Born in Grosse Pointe, Mich., attended Michigan State University and moved to Tarpon Springs from Columbus in 1981. Receptionist/Secretary at Innisbrook Resort, Tarpon Springs for 10 years.
