Graduate Rio Grande College, Class of 1935. Taught school in Carroll and Columbiana Counties. Entered the U.S. Army in 1943. Graduated O.C.S. Ft. Benning, Ga., 1944. Served as an Infantry Officer, 1944 to 1946. Awarded the Purple Heart with Cluster, 1945. Graduated from The Ohio State University with a BS in 1947 and a Masters in 1948. Retired from Bexley Schools in 1976 with over 41 years in education and 31 years in Bexley Schools. Life member DAV and NEA. Member OSU Touchdown Club. Survived by wife of 63 years, Mary Evelyn (Murray) Ahlborn; daughters, Mary (Harold) Snyder of N.C., Debbie (Daniel) Gray of Bexley; grandchildren, Michael and Mark Snyder of NC, Matthew and Katie Schmidt; sister, Thelma Walter; special friend, Aimee Cox; numerous nieces, nephews and friends. ANDREWS John Striker Andrews, on Sunday, February 25, 2001 at Adamstown, Md., formerly of Bethesda, Md. Beloved husband of Ann Carney Andrews; father of Richard Andrews, Christine Houghtlin and Sally Moore; brother of Burton R. Andrews, Jr. Mr. Andrews is also survived by several grandchildren. Friends will be received at COYLE FUNERAL HOME, 1770 S. Reynolds Rd., Toledo, Oh. on Saturday, March 3, 2001 from 10-11 a.m., where service will be held at 11 a.m. Interment private. BARRETT Anne K. Barrett, age 82, Tuesday, February 27, 2001 at Mt. Carmel East Hospital. Graduate of St. Francis School of Nursing and retired Registered Nurse after 25 years of service in the Emergency Room of Mercy Hospital. Longtime member of St. Leo's Parish and member of the St. Leo Young at Heart Club. Preceded in death by husband Richard Barrett. BIDDLE Ronald Edmund Biddle, 71, of Mansfield, died Wednesday, February 28, 2001 in Samaritan Hospital, Ashland, following a short illness. He was born January 6, 1930 in Uhrichsville to Ronald W. and Edith F. Bennett Biddle. He earned his BA in Architecture from The Ohio State University, had worked with the Army Corps of Engineers, several architectural firms in Lima and Columbus, as well as the Columbus City Architects Office. He retired from The Ohio State University where he served as an adjunct instructor and in the Architects Office. He was a member of the American Institute of Architects. He attended Crossroads Community Church, enjoyed sailing and traveling, and was an accomplished sketch and pencil artist. Surviving are a daughter, Anne (Sam) Seifert of Lexington; 2 sons, Ron W. (Lori) Biddle of Mansfield and Thomas F. (fiancee', Rosa Alor) Biddle of Berkeley, Calif.; 4 grandchildren, Matthew Potts, Eric Biddle, Jocelyn Biddle and Nicholas Seifert; former wife, Colleen Gatton of Mansfield; brother, Rick (Jo) Biddle of Miami, Fla.; 2 sisters, Anne (Dr. James) Baker of Lima and Mary Lee (Elmer "Skip") McClave of Uhrichsville. Visitation Saturday, March 3, 2001, 1-3 p.m. in SNYDER FUNERAL HOME, 2553 Lexington Ave., Mansfield, where the funeral will follow at 3 p.m. The Rev. Timothy N. Armstrong will officiate. BOEHM Joseph Scott Boehm, age 45, of Delaware, Oh., died at Mount Carmel Medical Center on Monday, February 26, 2001. He is survived by his wife, Jackie Marie (Pope) Boehm and his loving dogs, Josie, Louie, Beeper, Kato, Cosmo and cats. He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph L. and Mary Ann (Moffitt) Boehm of Upper Arlington. He was a graduate of Upper Arlington High School in 1974 and attended O.S.U. and Columbus State majoring in computer programming and science. He was employed at PCS (Proficient Computing Solutions) in Columbus for the past 20 years. He is also survived by brother, Michael L. Boehm and wife, Bonnie, of Columbia, MD; sisters, Sharon A. Vause and husband, Jim of El Paso, TX, Diane M. Dalton and husband, Louis of Hilliard, OH, Debby S. Boehm and husband, Norm Freeman of Phoenix, AZ; nieces, Kristin Vause, Heather Vause Lopez, Stacey Vause, Andrea Boehm and Meghan Boehm; nephews, Todd J. Vause, Christopher and Russell Dalton. He was a former member of St. Agatha Church. A Memorial Mass will be held 10 a.m. Friday, March 2, 2001 at St. Agatha Catholic Church, 1860 Northam Road, Upper Arlington. Msgr. David Funk, Celebrant. BRINSTON Oscar "Jack" Lee Brinston, age 84, February 25, 2001 at Mt. Carmel East Hospital. Retired employee of ASARCO Co. Member of Trinity Baptist Church. Preceded in death by parents Pearl and Settie Brinston; brother Rufus Brinston and sister Dorothy Polk. Survived by brothers, Robert (Ethel), Hilda (Mahilla) and Carl Brinston and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Friends may call at the CROSBY FUNERAL HOME, 2323 E. BROOMHALL Kenneth E. Broomhall, age 78, Sunday, February 25, 2001. member of Gahanna Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. Preceded in death by parents, sister, 4 brothers and 1 granddaughter. CARLSON Paul J. Carlson, age 65, of Canal Winchester, went to be with the Lord February 27, 2001 at his residence. Paul was born April 4, 1935 and raised in Lovington, Ill., son of the late Arvied John and Irene (Coon) Carlson. In 1953, he joined the U.S. Air Force and served his country for 20 years as a aircraft mechanic/crew chief. Retired Senior M/Sgt., Vietnam Veteran serving 2 tours of duty in South East Asia. He was retired from Core Materials Corp. Also preceded in death by brothers Harold "Rabbit" Carlson and Herman Carlson and father-in-law Othel "Curly" Friesner. Paul will be greatly missed by his loving family. Survived by wife of 45 years, Shirley; sons, John (Vivian) Carlson, Grove City, Jim (Patricia) Carlson, Pataskala and Scott (Jodi) Carlson, Pickerington; granddaughters, Shelbi and Kelsi Carlson; brothers, Robert (Shirley) Carlson, Panama City, Fla. and Richard (Nancy) Carlson, Decatur, Ill.; mother-in-law, Lorraine Friesner, Little Elm, Tex.; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Glenn and Dolores (Friesner) Woodard, Frisco, Tex.; several nieces, nephews and a host of dear friends. CARPENTER Mr. Errett LaRue Carpenter, Jr., age 81, of Columbus, died Tuesday February 27, 2001 at O.S.U. Hospital East. He was a retired long established Tax Attorney in Columbus. He taught evening classes at Capital Law School. Prior to moving to Columbus he worked for the I.R.S. in Washington, D.C. He is a veteran of the U.S. Army and a Kentucky Colonel. Preceded in death by wife Marilyn "Dutch" Carpenter. Survived by sons, Errett L. "Fred" (Susan Furste) Carpenter, III of Boston, Mass. and James C. (Mary Jane) Carpenter of New Albany; daughters, Sue A. Carpenter of Columbus and Lisa K. (Mohammed Karoon) Carpenter of Columbus; grandchildren, Amy Beth Carpenter, Wendy Hope (Michael) Levine, Jodi Lynn (Ryan) O'Sullivan, Katy (Michael) Theune, Elizabeth Carpenter, Caroline Carpenter and Abigail Carpenter; great-granddaughter, Rachael Levine; sister, Mary Virginia Gilluly; nephew, John Gilluly; nieces, Sandra (Paul) Dagdigian and Marlene (Guy) Burleson. Preceded in death by husband Isaac Cole, parents Samuel and Elvira Thompson and brothers Limuel and Clyde Thompson. Survived by loving son, David Lee (Brenda) Cole; sisters, Margaret Beatty, Jannie Craig, Ettie Hames, Sarah (James Henry) Wilkes and Delphfenia Sanders; brother, Walter (Willie) Thompson; brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Minnie Thomas, Donna Stearwell of W.Va., John Cole and Carrie Cole; very special nieces, Flora (James) Ross, Peggy (Jerry) Collins, Sadie Blackwell, Vivian Mores and Shante' Tiller; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. COLLINS Jack G. Collins, age 73, of Westerville, Oh., died Tuesday morning, February 27, 2001 at St. Ann's Hospital in Westerville, Oh. following an extended illness. He was born May 8, 1927 in Bucyrus, Oh., the son of the late Gilbert and Marie (Harrison) Collins. On November 30, 1947 he married Sylvia Kiess Collins, who survives. Also surviving are 2 sons, Thomas M. Collins of Sanders, Ariz. and J. Steven and Diane Collins of Worthington, Oh.; sister, Jane and David Peppard of Marion, Oh.; sister, Jane and David Peppard of Marion, Oh.; 3 sisters-in-law, Mrs. Noel (Vivian) Bogan, Carol and Butch Kimerline and Mrs. Gene (Mary) Kiess, all of Bucyrus, Oh.; many nieces and nephews. He was a graduate of Bucyrus High School. A Navy Veteran of WW II. He worked for Rockwell International for 5 years and was Manager of Production & Inventory Control at Jeffrey Manufacturing retiring after 35 years. He was a life member of Col. Crawford Post 181, American Legion of Bucyrus, Oh. and a life member of Amvets Post 89, Columbus, Oh. Past president of Westerville Kiwanis Club, past President of Bucyrus, Jaycee's, Charter President of Apics International of Columbus. Visitation will be held at WISE FUNERAL SERVICE, Bucyrus, on Saturday, March 3, 2001, 1 hour prior to a Memorial Service at 3 p.m. The Rev. Dr. David C. Hogg will be officiating. Memorials to Church of the Master United Methodist Church, Westerville, American Legion, Col. Crawford Post 181, and the following childrens funds: CATRA, Capital Area Therapeutic Riding Association, Four Diamonds Association throught the Wise Funeral Service.
