CARPENTER Mr. Errett LaRue Carpenter, Jr., age 81, of Columbus, died Tuesday February 27, 2001 at O.S.U. Hospital East. He was a retired long established Tax Attorney in Columbus. He taught evening classes at Capital Law School. Prior to moving to Columbus he worked for the I.R.S. in Washington, D.C. He is a veteran of the U.S. Army and a Kentucky Colonel. Preceded in death by wife Marilyn "Dutch" Carpenter. Survived by sons, Errett L. "Fred" (Susan Furste) Carpenter, III of Boston, Mass. and James C. (Mary Jane) Carpenter of New Albany; daughters, Sue A. Carpenter of Columbus and Lisa K. (Mohammed Karoon) Carpenter of Columbus; grandchildren, Amy Beth Carpenter, Wendy Hope (Michael) Levine, Jodi Lynn (Ryan) O'Sullivan, Katy (Michael) Theune, Elizabeth Carpenter, Caroline Carpenter and Abigail Carpenter; great-granddaughter, Rachel Levine; sister, Mary Virginia Gilluly; nephew, John Gilluly; nieces, Sandra (Paul) Dagdigian and Marene (Guy) Burleson. Memorial Service 11 a.m. Friday, March 2, 2001 at the SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd., Gahanna, where family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until service. Charter member of American Italian Golf Association and American Italian Club of Ft. Myers, Fla. Survived by beloved wife, Garnette R. DAVIS John A. (Jack) Davis, age 79, Tuesday, Kobacker House. Graduated from the St. Joseph Academy Grade School and in 1939 from the Aquinas High School. He is also a graduate of the University of  Oklahoma. Served in the U.S. Air Force, WW II. He was a Civil Service employee at the Wright Patterson Air Force Base in the Logistics Command. Awarded in 1989 as an Outstanding School Partner at the St. Peters School in Huber Heights, Oh. for introducing computers and establishing a library. Son of the late Lewis and Margaret Davis. Survived by wife of 53 years, Carmella (Millie); sister, Gloria (Ed) Eldridge; mother-in-law, Ann Albanese; brothers-in-law, Anthony (Frances) Fudoli, Peter (Ann) Albanese; many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends Friday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the JOHN QUINT & SONS FUNERAL HOME, 1177 West Fifth Ave. Prayer service 3:30 p.m. Friday. DAVIS Stephen Ray Davis, age 49, Wednesday, February 28, 2001 at Arbor's at Hilliard. Member Maranatha Baptist Church. Veteran U.S. Army. Preceded in death by father Ralph Davis. Survived by wife, Patty; sons, Stephen II (Jennifer) and Michael James; grandsons, Nicholas, Joel and Alex; mother, Norma (Tom) Runyon; mother- and father-in-law, James and Carol Henry; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. EDWARDS Sarah "Nell" Edwards, age 53, born December 20, 1947, passed away February 27, 2001 at Grant Hospital. She was preceded in death by her mother Sarah Jones, father J.D. McCauley, sisters Lula Douglas and Peggy McCauley. Surviving are her husband, Henderson Edwards; sons, Kevin (Kim) Edwards and Brian Edwards; daughters, Johnna (Michael) Graham, Monica (Randall) De Jarnett and Tina (Danny) Blackwell; sisters, Linda (Sherman) Daniels and Helen Winton (Paul); brothers, J.D. (Betty) McCauley, Jr. and William McCauley; 9 grandchildren; special longtime friend, Kim Johnson; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Sarah was a dedicated Witness of Jehovah for 26 years. She attended Southview Congregation at the Kingdom Hall at 2505 Lockbourne Rd., where memorial service will be held on Saturday March 3, 2001 at 2 p.m. There, friends, relatives and flowers will be received, with Robert Owen White, Sr. officiating. FENNEMAN Michael E. Fenneman, Sr., age 52, of Westerville, Tuesday, February 27, 2001 at St. Ann's Hospital. Member of BCA, Local 200 Carpenters Union, Little Turtle Country Club. Michael was an avid golfer and family man. Preceded in death by parents Donald and Joyce Fenneman. Survived by loving wife of 21 years, Wendy E.; sons, Jeffrey Fenneman and Craig (Becky) Kukay, both of Westerville; sister, Linda Kline of Bexley; nephews, James and Bobby Kline; loving friends, Jim and Linda Peters, Jerry Frost, Jane Shaw, Ted and Doreen Sergakis, Phil and Joann Bentley; many other special friends. A Memorial Service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, March 2, 2001 at the MORELAND FUNERAL HOME, 55 E. Schrock Rd., Westerville, with visitation 1 hour prior to service. Pastor Ralph Gordon officiating. FRICK Willard B. Frick, Ph.D., age 72, on Wednesday, February 28, 2001 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. Dr. Frick was active in humanistic psychology for more than 30 years. He published numerous articles in the Journal of Humanistic Psychology reflecting his interest in psychotherapy and personality theory. In addition, he served as associate editor of JHP since 1984. Before his retirement in 1993, Willard was professor psychology at Albion College in Mich., where he taught courses in humanistic psychology, counseling and personality theory. Dr. Frick was also on the staff of Oaklawn Counseling Services in Marshall, Mich. and was Adjunct Professor at Otterbein College. Willard is survived by wife, Patricia; sons, Thomas (Janice Margolis) Frick and Ian (Leslie) Frick; daughter, Cristina Rodgers Frick; grandchildren, Kayla, Kristen and Andrew. The family will receive friends Friday 6-8 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 N. High St., (* mile south of I-270), where funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 3, 2001. Rev. Sandra Goode Bricker presiding. Interment will take place in Tenn. at a later date.

GARLINGER Sherry L. (Pack) Garlinger, age 51, passed away February 27, 2001. Survived by husband of 35 years, William; daughters, Tammy (James) Molter of Grove City and Ginger (Robert) Gibson of Columbus; 4 grandchildren, William, Tracy, Jr., Tabatha and Bryanna; brothers, Larry Pack and Carl (Cathy) Pack; sisters, Susan (Robert) DeMint, Sandra Pack and Carol Pack; special son, Gene Griffith; son-in-law, Tracy Molter; many nieces, nephews and close friends and her pet, Sheba. HAWKINS O. Evelyn Hawkins, age 74, Tuesday, Mt. Carmel East Hospital. Born and raised in Tyler Co., W.Va. Employed with Big Bear at Town & Country for many years. Retired from State of Ohio Bureau of Employment Services. Employed at Bank One Service Center in Westerville for several years. Survived by daughters, Nancy (Wade) Sherfey and Diane Hawkins of Baltimore, Md.; grandchildren, Chad and Brandy Sherfey; brother, Kenneth Ralph Hadley; dear friends, Paul Mauller; many other loving relatives and friends. JENKINS Mary Gabay Jenkins, 83, of Powell, Oh., Wednesday, February 28, 2001 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. Widow of Alex G. (Funk) Jenkins. Survived by son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Scottie Jenkins of Powell; grandchildren, Michael Jenkins of Chicago, Lori Jenkins of Powell; 3 sisters, Bertha Hastings of Titusville, Fla., Irene Deshefy of Ft. Lauderdale Lakes, Fla. and Lilian Fulde of Cherry Hill, N.J.; several nieces and nephews. Member of St. Joan of Arc Church.  Jones Betty Hamelberg Jones, age 73, of Columbus, formerly of Chillicothe, Oh., died Wednesday evening at the Kobacker House following an extended illness. Arrangements for the Sunday and Monday services are pending at the HALLER FUNERAL HOME, Chillicothe, Oh.

KARSHNER Brian Phillip Karshner, age 37, of Columbus, died Wednesday, February 28, 2001 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. He was the Sales Manager in his family's firm, Clintonville Electric Co. He was a graduate of Centennial High School, Ashland University and was a former announcer and Music Director of WBBY Radio and a member of Linworth United Methodist Church. He is survived by his parents, Phillip and Patricia Karshner; brother, Matthew W. Karshner, M.D. and his wife, Brenda Ball Karshner of Joplin, Mo.; sister and her husband, Christine and Kenneth McSwain; and beloved fiancee', Sara Louise Nichols, all of Columbus; uncle and aunt, Albert and Charmaine Garey of Covington, Oh.; great-aunts, Clara Miller Townsend of Romney, W.Va. and Dorothy Williams of Mt. Vernon, Oh.; as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. Brian leaves many, many friends, who will remember him always for his loyalty, good humor and quick wit. A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, March 3, 2001 at Linworth United Methodist Church, 7070 Bent Tree Blvd., Columbus with The Rev. Max Williams officiating. The family will welcome friends at the church 1 hour prior to the service. KIRK Clarence E. Kirk, age 69, passed away Wednesday, February 28, 2001. Attended Concord College in WVa. Korean War Navy veteran. Member of Gates Fourth United Methodist Church. Retired from Buckeye Steel Casting Co. He is survived by his wife, Margery; sons, Richard A. Kirk and Robert W. Kirk; 3 grandchildren, Rickey, Lindsay and Elaina; great-grandson, Jacob; sisters, Joanne and Connie of Wheelersburg, Oh.; brother, Danny of Circleville; sister-in-law, Dr. Lois Zimmerman of Pickerington; numerous other relatives and friends.
