Survived by mother, Winna Lee Castle; daughters, Yolonda (Darryl) Peoples of Fla., Melinda (Patrick) McMillan of Ashville, Threasa Cook of Canal Winchester, Danielle (Henry) Senig of Columbus, Michaela Cook of Lancaster; sons, Bryan (Lisa) Cook of Reynoldsburg and Thomas Cook of Canal Winchester; 7 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; several nieces and 1 nephew. DIGGS Oliver Lee Diggs Jr., age 46, passed away February 27, 2001 at his residence. Preceded in death by parents Oliver Lee and Bessie Mae Diggs, and one sister. DeVICTOR Albert R. "Juggie" DeVictor, age 80, Saturday, March 3, 2001. WWII Army veteran, 2nd Lieutenant. He participated in all the European Campaigns and was decorated with Purple Heart, Bronze Star, and Bronze Leaf Cluster. Retired from Big Bear Stores. Former member of St. Andrews Church. Preceded in death by parents Guy and Donata DeVictor; brother Sam, Duke, Harold, and Robert DeVictor. Survived by wife, Evelyn; daughter, Phillis (Tony) Bull of Cincinnati; sons, Sam (Gretchen) DeVictor, Cleveland, Guy (Kathleen) DeVictor of Galena; nine grandchildren; sisters, Margaret (Edward) Lombardo, Yola Bruce and Donna (Don) Veri; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. ELIN Michael Elin, age 81, of Bexley, Friday, March 2, 2001 at Whetstone Care Center. He was an Engineer with Rockwell International and the State of Ohio. Member of the first graduation class of Jacksonville NAS in 1941. Veteran of World War II. Navy Fighter Pilot stationed on the Carrier Wasp until sunk by enemy torpedoes. He then served various assignments until the end of the war obtaining rank of Lieutenant Commander. After the war, Michael served as Assistant Naval Attache in Moscow then as Naval Attache in Poland. Member of Christ Lutheran Church and Junior Chamber of Commerce in Blacksburg, Va. Preceded in death by parents Michael and Iraida Elin; son Christopher Elin; grandson Alexander Rogers; brothers Nicholas Elin and Kronid Elin and beloved pets Tamara, Boris, Rocky, and Penny. Survived by wife of 56 years, Jean Elin; children, Michael (Karen) Elin, Jennifer Elin, and Christina (Scott) Rogers; grandchildren, Juliane and Eric Elin, and Alexandra Rogers. Funeral service 1 p.m. Monday, March 5, 2001 at Christ Lutheran Church, 2314 East Main Street, Bexley. Pastors Thomas L. Hudson and Sarah D. Talley officiating. FAIR Dolores Elizabeth Fair "Dee", 71, resident of Columbus, Oh., passed away on March 1, 2001 after a long illness. Preceded in death by loving parents Alexander and Elizabeth Casey  Woods of Columbus and brothers Alexander  Woods Jr. and Ralph  Woods of Columbus. Survived by her aunts, Sarah Casey, Ann Casey and Florence Cook of Columbus; brothers, Jerry (Mildred)  Woods and Earl (Barbra) Woods; and her sister-in-law, Ann Woods, all of Columbus; 10 children, Sylvester (Mary) Fair Jr., Teresa (Charles) Moody, Sheila (Percy) Jackson, Bettye Fair, Jayme Fair, all of Columbus, Duncan (Dorothy) Fair of Delaware, Oh., Kimberly Fair of Columbus, Oh., Bryan (Tana) Fair of Tuscaloosa, Ala., Mark (Michele) Fair of Columbus and Brett Austin of Atlanta, Ga.; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and many friends. FETHEROLF Harry C. Fetherolf, age 82, passed away Thursday, March 1, 2001 at Mt. Carmel Hospital West. He retired from Commerical Motor Freight Inc. WW II U.S. Army Veteran serving in the Battle of the Bulge. Former member of V.F.W. and American Legion Posts. Mr. Fetherolf also enjoyed CB Radio where he was known as "Bertha" or "City Map." Preceded in death by wife Martha. Survived by sons, Bill (Janet) Fetherolf, Steve (Jayne) Fetherolf; daughter, Linda (Larry) Starr; 7 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and all his CB Buddies. GAMPHER Gene L. Gampher, age 82, of Dublin, Oh., Friday, March 2, 2001 at Windsor Place. Retired from Ohio Bell. A Signal Corp Army Veteran of WW II. Member of the American Legion Post #614. Member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church of Upper Arlington. Survived by wife of 58 years, Erma Light Gampher of Dublin; daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Dr. Michael Ehman of Portland, Maine; granddaughter, Heather Ehman of Portland, Maine; grandson, Matthew (Susan) Ehman of Erie, Pa.; great-grandchildren, Juliana and Tyler of Erie, Pa.; nephews, Jim Kingery of West Carrollton and Charles Gampher of Midland, Oh. HAMPTON Charles "Ted" Hampton, age 50, died February 28, 2001 at Whetstone Care Center. Preceded in death by parents Charles and Marilyn Hampton. Survived by brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Michele Tobin; sisters, Susie Hampton and Tina Tobin; nieces, Appollonia, Sade, China; nephew, Chino. According to his wishes, Ted's body was donated to science for the good of mankind. Arrangements by COOK & SON-PALLAY FUNERAL HOME.

HELMICK (NEWHOUSE) Evalyn L. Helmick, nee Funk, Saturday, March 3, 2001 at the Forum at Knightsbridge following a long illness. She was born on March 17, 1916 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania . She came to Columbus with her husband, Carl F. Newhouse, and two daughters in 1946. After the death of her husband in 1954, she was associated with City National Bank (BankOne) at the time of the opening of their first east Columbus office. She was preceded in death by her husband Claude P. Helmick in 1964. Mrs. Helmick was a member of Christ Lutheran Church. She was a past president of Childhood League Board II, a past president of the Columbus Scholarship Board, a member of the Twigs of Childrens Hospital, Grant Hospital Women's Board and Buckeye Ranch Auxiliary. She was a former member of Columbus Country Club. Mrs. Helmick is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Carol and Ivor H. Young and Kathie and Dr. Stephen J. DeVoe; grandchildren, Anne Y. Gerlach, Jane Y.  Jackson (Walter), of Wyckoff, New Jersey, Sara H. Young, Robert E. Mathews III, of Lexington, Kentucky, and Margaret M. Freytag (Gavin); great-grandchildren, James M., Hilary Jane and Alison Young Gerlach,  Taylor Anne, Avery June, Ivor Young  Jackson and Robert E. Mathews IV. HOLSTEIN Hailey Holstein, 7, of Grove City passed away, Friday, March 2, 2001 at Children's Hospital. Our one and only Little Angel, Hailey Kendra went to heaven to be with her first grandma Rings (Betty Lou) who she always wished she could have known. Hailey was born on February 23, 1994 in Columbus. She was a first grader at Beautiful Savior Ev. Lutheran School and she enjoyed gymnastics at Reflections. She went suddenly and very unexpectedly after suffering a series of strokes on March 2 one week after celebrating her 7th birthday. She is survived by her parents, who absolutely adored her, Tim and Susan; Loving Grandparents, Don and Mary Rings, Sandy Holstein "Florida Grandma", Pat Gentile and Richard Holstein; special aunts and uncles, Dave and Cathy Stamman, Teresa Barry "Aunt Sissy", Aunt Dana Steinbrink "Uncle Dana", Dan Rings "Uncle Dude", Jonathan Gentile "Uncle Johnny", Jeff and Dawn Milanovich, Ralph and Dina Moore, and Uncle to be Eric Thorla; best cousins, Lindsey Steinbrink, Kaleigh Barry and Dalton Normoyle, Garrett, Tony, Ryan, Alyssa, Paige, Baby Emily and Jason; cousins to be Danny and Andrea. KUDER Louise Schwenkbeck Kuder, age 94, died Thursday, March 1, 2001 at Kobacker House in Columbus, Ohio, Born in Town of Porter, Ny., she was the daughter of the late Jakob Schwenkbeck and Margaret Hosbach. She graduated from Niagra Falls High School in 1922 and worked at E.I. Dupont in Niagra Falls, Ny. In 1928 she married the Rev. John H.F. Kuder who was a Lutheran pastor in Hanover, Ont. They were missionaries in Papua, New Guinea from 1934 until their retirement in 1974. Louise is preceded in death by her husband; and sister Marie Schwenkbeck. She is survived by sons, John (Iris) of Lewiston, Ny., Paul (Edna) of Reynoldsburg, Oh., James (Susan) of Fanwood, NJ.; daughter, Maryanne (John) Friend of Plain City, Oh.; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren. Friends may call Monday, March 5 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the WEIR-AREND FUNERAL HOME, 4221 N. High St. (3 blocks S. of Henderson Rd.).
