Gladys Stidham

RICHWOOD -- Gladys Stidham, 90, Richwood, passed away at 5:05 p.m. Sunday, June 22, 2003, at Heartland of Marysville.

Born Feb. 26, 1913, in Greenup, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Henry and Minnie May (Crisp) Giliam.

On Sept. 10, 1934, in Cattlettsburg, Ky., she married Leonder (Lee) Stidham; he died Jan. 27, 1991.

A homemaker, she was a member of Richwood Church of Christ.

She is survived by seven sons, Robert Lee (Esther) Stidham of Westmoreland, Tenn., Charles Stidham, Bradenton, Fla., Ralph (Marlene) Stidham, Jasper, Ark., Kenneth (Beverly) Stidham, Richwood, Ronnie (Pam) Stidham, Warm Springs, Va., Jerry (Giney) Stidham, Willard, Phillip (Pat) Stidham, Richwood; two daughters, Bonnie (Ted) McClenen, South Vienna, Barbara (Bill) Jones, Marysville; a sister, Geneva Jones, Ashland, Ky.; 19 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by six brothers and six sisters and a grandson, Lance Eric Stidham.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 25, 2003, at the Richwood Church of Christ with the Rev. Scot Gorsuch officiating. Burial is in Claibourne Cemetery. Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Ballinger Funeral Home in Richwood. Pallbearers will be her seven sons.

Memorial contributions may be made to Richwood Church of Christ Memorial Fund. Cards are available at the funeral home.

Linda L. Lehner

MARION -- Linda L. Lehner, 55, passed away at 10:05 a.m. Monday, June 23, 2003, at Morning View Care Center.

Born April 17, 1948, in Marion, she was the daughter of Carl H. and Frances I. (Wentz) Lehner; her mother survives in Marion.

She was self-employed as a housekeeper and member of First United Church of Christ and its Sunshine Circle.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by a brother, Thomas E. Lehner; two nieces and three nephews; and several grand-nieces and grand-nephews. She was preceded in death by her father and a sister, Patricia Lehner.

The funeral is 10 a.m. Thursday, June 26, 2003, at Denzer-Farison-Hottinger Funeral Home with the Rev. Clifford Bollenbacher officiating. Burial is in Caledonia Cemetery. Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Quality of Life Hospice.

Pamela S. Garnow

REYNOLDSBURG -- Funeral arrangements are pending with Gunder/Hall & Folk Funeral Directors for Pamela S. Garnow, age 57, of Reynoldsburg, formerly of Marion. She died Monday morning, June 23, 2003, at Mount Carmel Medical Center East.

Stella Irene Akers

MARYSVILLE -- Stella Irene Akers, 90, died at 4 p.m. Monday, July 14, 2003, at Hearland of Marysville.

Born Oct. 5, 1912, in Boyd County, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Harrison and Anna (Horn) Akers.

A homemaker, she attended Community United Methodist Church in Richwood.

She is survived by a daughter, Carolyn (Jessie) Boysel, London; grandson, Steven Pinson; great-grandchildren, Zackary and Allison Pinson; special granddaughter-in-law, Pamela (Jim) Bolger and brother, Clifford "Jim" Akers, Marion. She was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters.

Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, July 17, 2003, in the York Cemetery, York Center, with the Rev. Phyllis Radlinski officiating. Calling hours will not be observed. Arrangements are by Ballinger Funeral Home, Richwood.

Memorial contributions may be made to Community United Methodist Church, York Center.

Hazel Mae Evans

RICHWOOD -- Hazel Mae Evans, age 67, of Richwood, died Monday evening, July 14, 2003, at the Marion General Hospital.

She was born Jan. 20, 1936, in Richwood, to the late Francis Leo and Mildred Fern (Wilson) Hendrickson.

Hazel was a homemaker and enjoyed going to flea markets and yard sales.

On April 7, 1952, at the Baptist parsonage in Richwood, she married Robert O. Evans and he survives.

Also surviving are one son, David Robert (Joyce) Evans of New Bloomington and one daughter, Diana Sue (Richard) Robbins of Orange Park, Fla.; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; four sisters, Dorothy Dever of Marion, Ruth (Jack) Rouse of Richwood, Anna (Glenn) Carman of Bucyrus and Helen Jean (Harold) Smith of Richwood; one brother, Francis "Ed" Hendrickson of Richwood and aunt, Hazel Graham, Richwood. She was preceded in death by one brother, Donald Hendrickson, and one sister, Ruby L. Dowell.

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 18, 2003, at 1 p.m. at the Stofcheck Funeral Home in Richwood where friends may call Thursday from 5-8 p.m. Minister will be the Rev. George Freer. Burial will be in Price Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.

William M. Utley Sr.

CHARDON -- William M. Utley Sr., 74, of Burton Health Care Center in Burton, passed away at 6:37 p.m. Monday, July 14, 2003, at Geauga Hospital in Chardon.

Born June 21, 1929, in Grayson, Ky., he was the son of the late Strother and Dollie (Terry) Utley.

Twice married, he first married Barbara A. Rizer Utley in 1954, in Marion, and she died in January 1980. He later married Helen L. Smith Utley in January 1982, in Kenton, and she died Dec. 1, 2002, in Bellefontaine.

He was a retired electrician working most of his life with Marion Electric Sales and Service and Kenton Electric Motors.

He is survived by four sons, Les E. Utley (fiance Debbie) Newbury, William M. (Sheila) Utley Jr., Marion, Robert M. (Judy) Utley, Sidney, James E. Thompson, Colorado Springs, Colo.; a daughter, Martha T. Utley, Hilliard; three brothers, Arthur (Shirley) Utley, LaRue, Thomas (Rosemary) Utley, Marion, Robert Utley, Prospect; five sisters, Mrs. Leonard (Thelma) Mustard, Marion, Mrs. Glen (Glenda) Craft, Fort Wayne, Ind., Mrs. Chuck (Thena) Simmons, Tennessee, Mrs. Bill (Rena) Rose, Marion, Mrs. Dean (Lu) Chivington, Marion; seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother and one grandchild.

The funeral is 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 18, 2003, at Boyd Funeral Home with the Rev. Fred Buckner officiating. Burial is in Marion Cemetery. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Thomas J. McCleese

CAMBRIDGE -- Thomas J. McCleese, 71, Cambridge, died at 12:35 a.m. Wednesday, July 16, 2003, at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Friday, July 18, 2003, at the Bundy-Law Funeral Home in Cambridge, with the Rev. Mark Smith officiating. Burial is in Northwood Cemetery. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.
