BARBARA KOSCHESKI
1929-2007
VINITA, Okla. - Barbara Koscheski, 77 year old Vinita resident, passed away Monday, January 22, 2007 at Craig General Hospital.
Barbara was born September 11, 1929 to Donald McCullough Lannin and Martha (Wiggins) Lannin in Rochester, New York. She was a bookkeeper with KBTN Radio station in Neosho, Mo. Barbara graduated from Brighton High School, Rochester.
She belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary, Delphi Club, D.A.R. and attended Pilgrim Presbyterian Church. She worked on the Election Board in Vinita and liked to knit, quilt and read books.
Barbara is survived by: a daughter, Carolyn Sue Hencmann of Millersville, Pa.; a son, Scott Thomas Koscheski of Vinita; a sister, Martha Jane Maes of Idaho Falls, Idaho; a sister-in-law, Clara Mae Freeman of Vinita; two grandchildren, Stacey and Sean Hencmann; and a host of friends.
Barbara was preceded in death by both of her parents, husband Walter W. Koscheski, Jr., and one brother Thomas Lannin.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 26, 2007 at Burckhalter Memorial Chapel at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Richard Evans of Pilgrim Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will follow at Timpson Chapel Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Burckhalter Funeral Service of Vinita.

NELDENA JESSIE MATHISON
1917-2007
BIG CABIN, Okla. - Neldena Jessie Mathison, 89, of Big Cabin, passed away on January 22, 2007 in Big Cabin. She was born September 27, 1917 in Shamrock, Okla. to Ottis Ottman and Jesse Vites (Roark) Rice. Mrs. Mathison worked in banking while living in California. In 1972 when she moved back to Big Cabin she worked in the insurance industry for Ted Dixon before she retired. Neldena graduated from Big Cabin High School and was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She was a master seamstress who loved painting and gardening; she also enjoyed to bowl up into her 80’s until she had thumb surgery. She spent some time traveling to Europe, Italy and Scotland mostly while she was in her 80’s. Most of all she enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren and knew hers were a notch above the rest.
Survivors include: her children Shirley Ladonna Gregg of Grove, Okla.; Raymond Dean Mathison of Big Cabin; Sharon Gayle Waterman of Huntington Beach, Calif.; a stepson Donn Mathison of Water Town, Wis.; one brother Ottis Dale Rice of Las Vegas, Nev.; 13 grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 27, 2007 at the United Methodist Church in Big Cabin with Reverend Max Adams officiating. Interment will follow in the Big Cabin Cemetery under the direction of the Luginbuel Funeral Home in Vinita.
The family has asked that memorial donations be made to REMO Ambulance service to be earmarked for an Automated External Defibrillator to be put on the Big Cabin Ambulance. Donations may be sent to P.O. Box 216 Big Cabin, OK 74332.

BROOKLYN NICOLE SANDERS
2006-2007
JAY, Okla. - Brooklyn Nicole Sanders died Monday, January 22, 2007 at Integris Grove General Hospital in Grove.
Brooklyn was born March 3, 2006 in Tulsa, Okla. to Kelly Sanders. Although her life was too short, she was deeply loved by her family and will be greatly missed.
Her family includes: her mother, Kelly Sanders; grandparents, Larry and Lana Sanders of Jay; great-grandparents William and Sandra Sanders of Jay; Janet and Jerry Metcalf of Blanco, Texas; great-great grandparents Claude and Evelyn Rowbotham of Locust Grove, Okla., Bill and Helen Ferguson of Blanco, and Carl and Betty Gardner of Jay; uncles Billie Sanders, Steven Sanders and Larry Sanders of Jay; great-uncles Claude Sanders of Jay, Joe Gray of Tupelo, Okla., and Jerry Metcalf of Fairland, Okla.; great Aunt Lacey Cortez of Blanco; great-great uncles Billy Ferguson of Tumball, Texas and Kelly Ferguson of Blanco; five cousins, and many others who cared about her.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 25, 2007 at 2 p.m. at the Mount Hermon Church in Jay. Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 24, 2007, from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Jay. Pastor James Bryan will officiate. Butch McDonald, Wendell Bullard, Trent Maggart and Fruitie Evans will serve as pall bearers. Kim Ritchie will provide special music.

AKEY TIMOTHY
1961-2007
CATOOSA, Okla. - Akey Elizabeth Timothy of Catoosa, died Monday January 22, 2007 at the St. Francis Hospital at Tulsa, Okla. She was 45.
Akey was born November 14, 1961 to John and Barbara (Leaf) Davis at Pryor, Okla. She was a homemaker; she enjoyed making beads and cooking. She has lived in Catoosa for 23 years and was a member of the Emanuel Baptist Church at Claremore, Okla. She was preceded in death by her parents, and one nephew, Robert Chisholm.
Survivors include: two children, John Ross Davis and Rachael Dawn Timothy, both of Catoosa; one sister, Karen Lee Chisholm; two nieces, Samantha, Kiyah; and one nephew, Jeremy.
Services will be 10 a.m., Friday January 26, 2006 at the Emanuel Baptist Church at Claremore. Rev. Richard Pickup will officiate. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Eucha Roundsprings Cemetery. Services are under the care of the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home at Jay, Okla. LUCILLE B. ZWIRTZ
1916–2007
GROVE, Okla. - Lucille B. Zwirtz was born October 6, 1916, and passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2007 in Grove.
She moved to Honeycreek Retirement Village in January 1998 from Del City, Okla.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, James A. Zwirtz; a baby daughter Mary Evelyn; her parents, Tom and Mary Elledge; four brothers; and two sisters.
She is survived by: two daughters, Barbra Zwirtz of Del City, Okla. and Deanna Brady and husband Vernon of Grove; six grandchildren, April Williams and husband Guy, Lisa Elliott and husband Bill, Jamie Duggan, Bruce Duggan and wife Vicky, Cindy Larson and Kari Surbeck and husband Bill; eight great grandchildren; and a large extended family.
There will be a graveside service on Saturday, January 27, in Hinton, Okla. Services are under the direction of the Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home in Del City.

RONALD BARRETT
1944-2007
SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Ronald Barrett, born April 19, 1944 at McCarron Air Force Base in Las Vegas, Nev., died January 22, 2007, in San Antonio.
Ronald moved to Grove, Okla. in 1947, where he attended Grove public schools for 12 years. He graduated with the class of 1962. Following graduation, Ron attended Oklahoma State University and graduated with a degree in Business Administration. While attending OSU, he was active in the advanced Air Force R.O.T.C. and entered the United States Air Force as a Second Lieutenant. His Air Force career consisted of one year of training in the U.S., one year in Vietnam, and two years in Europe. He worked in the Air Force finance department, and earned a Master’s Degree while serving in the Air Force.
After his service in the Air Force, Ron enrolled in the International School of Business in Phoenix, Ariz. It was while enrolled there that Ron met his future wife, Maryann Piazzo, a school teacher. Ron remained active in the Air Force Reserves and retired in 1995 as a Lieutenant Colonel following a total of 30 years combined active duty and reserve service. While in the Air Force, Ron was awarded the Bronze Star for his duty in Vietnam.
Following his graduation from the International School of Business, he accepted a job with American Express Bank and spent two years managing a bank in Okinawa. Ron and Maryann agreed that Okinawa was too far from family and friends, so they moved to San Antonio, where he worked for the Air Force non-appropriated fund division, which controls all P-X’s and commissaries world wide. He and his wife also established a successful private tax practice. Ron loved to hunt and fish and was an avid tennis player
Twelve years later Ron accepted a position with Randolph-Brooks Federal Credit Union. He retired from Randolph-Brooks as an Executive Vice-President in 2006.
Ronald is survived: by his wife, Maryann, of the home; one daughter, Joanna, of Houston, Texas; one son, Ronald D. Barrett, Jr. of San Antonio; his brother, Jim Barrett and wife Karen and family of Dallas, Texas; his sister, Susan Sutter and husband Charles and family of Leesburg, Va.; his father, Dean Barrett and wife Anna Lee of Grove, Okla.; two step-brothers Greg Spicer and wife Jackie of Grove, and Mike Spicer and family of Grove.
He was preceded in death by his infant brother, Roger Barrett, and his grandparents, A.G. and Lola Nicks, long time residents of the Hickory Grove community, as well as other relatives whom he loved.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 3, at the First Christian Church Celebration Hall in Grove. Family will receive friends at a visitation from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, February 2.
In lieu of flowers, friends may make memorial contributions to the National Cancer Society Institute, c/o Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, 711 South Main Street, Grove, OK 74344, or to the First Christian Church Building Fund in Grove, P.O. Box 450327, Grove, OK 74344.

CAROL JEAN TYLER
1941 – 2007
JAY – Carol Jean Tyler, 65, of Jay, Oklahoma, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, January 7, 2007, at Monroe Manor Nursing Center at Jay.
Carol was born April 14, 1941 in Indiana. She is survived by one brother John Erps of Omaha, Neb., and one cousin Judy Compton of Lexington, Ill.
Carol worked for Simmons Poultry Plant for many years until becoming disabled. She lived in the Cherokee Nation Housing for 14 years. Her loves were her dog Pepe, her flower garden and her many friends. She will be greatly missed by all.
Memorial services will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Jay on Sat., Feb. 3, 2007 at 1 p.m. Her ashes will be spread at a later date.
Services are entrusted to Turner Funeral Chapel of Jay.

WANDA LEE BLACKFOX
1930-2007
KANSAS, Okla. - Wanda Lee Blackfox, 76 year-old resident of Kansas, died February 6, 2007 at Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital, in Siloam Springs, Ark.
She was born August 16, 1930 in Salina, Okla., the daughter of John Potter and Nina Hendren Potter. She was a lifetime resident of Delaware County and a graduate of Colcord High School. She was a housemother for Whitaker State Children’s Home in Pryor, Okla. and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the First Baptist Church in Kansas.
She was preceded in death by: one son, Bobby Blackfox; one grandson, Shelby Blackfox; one great grandson, Reed Blackfox; one brother, Chandler Potter; and one sister, Frankie Hughes.
Survivors include: her husband of 57 years, David Blackfox of the home; two sons, Jay Blackfox and wife Carolyn and Beaver Blackfox and wife Fran, all of Kansas; one daughter, Nina Turtle and husband William of Kansas; eight grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; one brother, Johnnie Potter of Oaks, Okla.; and one sister, Ginger Green of Bartlesville, Okla.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Friday, February 9, at the First Baptist Church, of Kansas, with Rev. John Crowley and Rev. Rod Arnold officiating. Burial will follow at Kansas Cemetery, in Kansas.
Visitation will be 6 to 7:30 p.m., Thursday, February 8, at Wasson Funeral Home, of Siloam Springs.
Pallbearers will be Larry Barnett, Les Arnold, Jesse Glass, Laramy O’Leary, Larren O’Leary, Larelee O’Leary, and Bob Wiley.
