ALBERT L. DOAN
1937- 2007
JAY, Okla. – Albert L. Doan, 70 years old passed away Saturday, March 10. Albert was born January 21, 1937, in Craig County, Oklahoma to Walter and Veria (Dick) Doan. Albert married Wavis Burton on March 28, 1957, in Jay, Okla. In Jay, he raised his three sons and one daughter. Albert farmed and worked for Jay School until retirement.
Survivors include; his wife Wavis of the home, one daughter, Bonnie Wolf of Jay, three grandchildren, Lucy Cummings, Samathia Winkler, and Gerry Wolf, three sons, bill Doan, James Doan and Christia of Jay, Jerry Doan and Angel, two grandchildren, Lavauna Doan and Crystal Doan, and two step-children, Ross Barton and Amanda Barton all of Jay, Okla. Also surviving are eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by both of his parents and one sister, Ruby Doan.
Graveside Services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 14, at Indianola Cemetery, Delaware County, Okla.

ROBERT E. HEDRICK
1934 – 2007
JAY, Okla. – Robert (Bob) E. Hedrick, 72, years old passed away Sunday, February 4th. Bob was born on February 11, 1934, in Kenwood, Oklahoma to the parents of Claude and Ora Hedrick. He is preceded in death by both parents; one brother; Eugene, one sister; June and one daughter Darlena.
Bob began working for Linwood Stone at an early age, when the Eucha Dam was being built. He continued working with them for many years in Missouri, Kansas, Montana, Illinois, and Iowa, until he opened his own business; as a diesel service center, named “Bob’s Garage,” in Rock Island, IL. He worked there until his retirement, when he returned to Jay, Okla.
He is survived by five children, Tish Waddell and husband Jim of Joplin, Mo. Tamara Rottau and husband Wayne of Godfrey, Il. Robert Hedrick and wife Ruth of Davenport, Ia.; Melody Hedrick of Jay, Okla. Roger and wife Terri of Moline, Il. 11 grandchildren, Zachary and Chelsey Waddell; Garrett Rottau; Ashley (Rottau) and Joseph Stewart; Jeremy and Jessica Hedrick; Clinton, Mackenzie and Erica Hedrick; and Marci Hill; 2 great grandchildren, Jordyn and Daevanie Stewart. In addition he is survived by four siblings, Jeri Herrin of Pineville, Mo. Donna Birks of Miami, Okla.; Mac Hedrick of Grove, Okla.; and Preston Hedrick of Davenport, Il. Plus he leaves behind many friends and loved ones that he called family.
Memorial services will be held at a later date to celebrate his life. It will be in the spring, and the date will be announced. The legacy he leaves behind is far more valuable than most. He leaves the love nature, the never-ending positive attitude, and the ability to always see the good in people. Memorials may be made to The American Lung Association.

ELLAR BAKER
1912-2007
KANSAS, OK – Funeral services for Ellar Baker, age 94, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 16, 2007, at Lowrey Freewill Baptist Church with Brother Francis “Red” Berka and Brother Lance Rogers officiating. Interment will follow at the Kansas Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home.
Ellar Baker was born on July 5, 1912, in Scraper, OK to Richard C. “R.C.” and Mary (Carrigan) Williams and passed away on May 11, 2007, at Quail Ridge Living Center in West Siloam Springs, OK. Ellar was raised in the Scaper Community and attended school at Scaper Schools. She met Charlie F. Baker and on December 26, 1930, they married. A true homemaker, Ellar enjoyed the outdoors and spent time gardening and helping with the chickens and the cattle. But most of all, Ellar loved her family and especially enjoyed her grandchildren. Faith was important to Ellar and she was the last surviving charter member of the Lowry Freewill Baptist Church. Her family and her church family will dearly miss her.
Ellar is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charlie; two brothers, Ernest and Lewis Williams; two sisters, Nellie Odle and Lila Coombs; one grandson, Kurty Baker; and a great grandson, Daniel Gentry.
She is survived by her children, Charles Clifford Baker and his wife, Alta, and Christine Graves and her husband Everett, all of Kansas, OK; three grandchildren, Dale Graves and his wife, Sharron, Marsha Diane Gentry and her husband David, and Karl D. Baker; seven great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter; along with many other relatives, friends, and loved ones.

JOSHUA AARON DEFOREST
2005 – 2007
MONKEY ISLAND - Joshua Aaron DeForest, 2 year old infant son of Sarah Smith, was found dead along with his brother Skyler and mother, Sarah at a home on Monkey Island, on Tuesday, May 8, 2007 due to injuries inflicted by gunshot wound.
Joshua was born in January of 2005 at Grove Oklahoma to Sarah Smith and Aaron Deforest. He was preceded in death by his mother Sarah and brother; Skyler.
Joshua is survived by one brother; Riley Smith of Missouri, grandparents; Dona Smith of Percival, Iowa, Sandy Smith of Pierce City, Missouri, Judy Smiley and Dennis DeForest of California, great grandparents; Dora L. Smith of Percival, Iowa and Dallas and Sylvia Waite of Nebraska.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, May 12, 2002 at the Turner Funeral Chapel, 722 N.W. 46th Street, Grove, Oklahoma. Rev. Nancy S. Smith will officiate.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, May 14, 2007 at Hamburg Cemetery in Hamburg. Iowa.
The family has request that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to any local charity set up on behalf of the family or the Oklahoma State Victims Compensation fund.
Services are entrusted to Turner Funeral Chapel of Grove, Oklahoma.

EVA LEE HALL
1949-2007
JAY – Eva Lee Hall, 58, a resident of Jay, Oklahoma, passed away May 11, 2007, at Tulsa Regional Hospital, Tulsa, OK.
Eva Hall was born in Claremore, Oklahoma on February 18, 1949. She was one of fourteen children born to Henry and Mary (Grass) Tagg, Sr.
Eva spend her life working as a general laborer, working in chicken houses and nursing homes. She attended the Hillside Baptist Church in Eucha. She remained a member of the Ribbon Indian Church in Spavinaw, OK. She enjoyed camping and fishing, and spending time with her family. She loved her grandchildren. Eva enjoyed cooking and baking, and was well-known for her excellent pies. She loved her dog, “Nubbins.”
Evan is survived by her longtime companion, Phillip Jim Martin. She is also survived by two children, Jamie Matthews of Eucha, OK and Alisha Strickland of Tahlequah, OK. She will be greatly missed by her four brothers, Henry Tagg, Jr. of Tahlequah, William Tagg of Lincoln, Ark., Tommy Grass of Spavinaw, and Charlie Grass of Pryor. She will also be greatly missed by her nine sisters, Kelly Wilson of Grove, Carolyn Prine of Ketchum, Cathleen Kind of Jay, Bertie Logan of Oakley, CA, Mary Gree of Tahlequah, Loretta King of Salisaw, Janie Alberty of Tulsa, Mary Grass of Tahlequah, and Jean Bolin of Welling.
Eva was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Mary (Grass) Tagg.
Services have been entrusted to Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Jay, OK. The family will receive friends at a visitation Monday evening, May 14, 2007, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. The funeral service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 15, 2007, at the First Baptist Church in Jay. Pastor Randall Cummins will officiate. Burial will be at the Ribbon Indian Cemetery in Spavinaw following the service. SKYLER LEVI PRICE
2002- 2007
MONKEY ISLAND - Skyler Levi Price, four year old son of Sarah Smith, passed away Tuesday, May 8, 2007 at a home on Monkey Island, due to injuries sustained by a gunshot wound.
Skyler was born August 12, 2002 in Ft. Scott, Kansas to Shannon Price and Sarah Smith. He moved to the Grand Lake area in 2002 with his mother Sarah.
He is survived by one brother; Riley Smith, Grandparents, Dallas & Sylvia Waite of Nebraska, Dora L. Smith of Percival, Iowa, grandparents Darwin Smith of Percival, Iowa and Sandy Smith of Pierce City, Missouri, Paternal grandparents; Judy Smiley and Dennis DeForest of California.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, May 12 2007 at the Turner Funeral Chapel, 722 N.W. 46th street, Grove, Oklahoma. Rev. Nancy S. Wilson will officiate.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, May 14, 2007 at the Hamburg Cemetery in Hamburg, Iowa.

SARAH MOLINA SMITH
1980-2007
MONKEY ISLAND - Sarah Molina Smith, 26-year-old Monkey Island resident was found dead, along with two of her sons; Skyler Price, age 4 and Joshua DeForest age 2 on Tuesday, May 8, 2007 at 14 Missouri Drive, Afton, Oklahoma due to injuries inflicted by a gunshot wound.
Sarah was born October 17, 1980 in Sue City, Iowa to Darwin Donald Smith and Sandy Lea (Waite) Smith. She and her children moved to the Grand Lake area in 2005. Sarah worked as a sales clerk at Littlefield’s Market on Monkey Island and will be greatly missed by both family and her many friends and customers,
Sarah is survived by her parents; Darwin Smith of Percival, Nebraska, mothers; Sandy Smith of Pierce City, Missouri, grandparents; Dallas and Sylvia Waite of Nebraska, Dora L. Smith of Percival, Iowa, one son; Riley Smith of Pierce City, Missouri, one brother: Nathan Smith of George Town, Texas, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, May 12, 2007 at the Turner Funeral Chapel, 722 N.W. 46th Street Grove, Oklahoma. Rev. Nancy S. Wilson, pastor of All Saints United Methodist Church of Eagle Rock, MO will officiate.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, at Hamburg Cemetery in Hamburg, Iowa and interment to follow.
The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to any special fund set up locally on behalf of the family or the Oklahoma State Victims Restitution Fund, in care of Turner Funeral Chapels.

AARON KEITH DEFOREST
1972 – 2007
MONKEY ISLAND - Aaron Keith DeForest, 34-year-old resident of Monkey Island, Oklahoma died on Tuesday, May 8, 2002 at his home, due to a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
He is survived by his mother; Judy Smith of California and father; Dennis Deforest of California.
Arrangements are pending and will be announced by Turner Funeral Chapel of Grove, OK
