ALVIN R. CONWAY
1929-2007
GROVE - Alvin R. Conway, 78, a resident of Grove, Oklahoma passed away Thursday, June 14, 2007 at Integris Grove General Hospital. Mr. Conway was born in Elgin, OK to Tim and Clara (Schettler) Conway.
Alvin moved to Oakley, Kansas in 1947.
He married Julie Ann Fehring on October 1, 1949.
Alvin worked as a dairyman and farmer for forty-four years. He retired in 1994 from the farm.
Mr. Conway and his wife moved to the Grove area from Oakley, KS.
In Oakley he was very active in the Saint Joseph Catholic Church, he was on several committees, and Alvin was also a member of the school board in Oakley. Mr. Conway was also an active member of the Knights of Columbus. After retiring and moving to Grove he loved to fish.
His wife Judy of fifty three years preceded him in death on February 6, 2003.
He married Patricia Hinn on April 23, 2005. Others that preceded him in death are his parents Tim and Clara Conway, a son Michael Conway, a sister Mary Ann Beauchamp.
Survivors include his wife Patricia (Hinn) Conway of the home, his children Ron Conway and his wife Ronda of Holcomb, KS, Don Conway and his wife Judy of Dodge City, KS, Jeanne Janzen and her husband Ken of Krebs, OK, Kenny Conway and Trish of St. Mary’s, KS, Dennis Conway and his wife Jo Ann of Olathe, KS, Pat Koster and her husband Patrick of Grinnel, KS, Michael Hinn of El Paso, TX, John Hinn of Amarillo, TX, Robert Hinn of Little Rock, AR, his brothers and sisters; Tim Conway and his wife Mary Ann of Duncan, OK, Pat Conway and his wife Patt of Lawton, OK, Marvin Conway and his wife Jean of Bethany, OK. Mr. Conway has eleven grandchildren who will be serving as Pallbearers, they are, Kevin Janzen, Shaun Conway, Sarah Stanfield, Amy Conway, Krista Waldman, Jennifer Conway, John Conway, Jeff Conway, Chase Waldman, Megan Conway and Melissa Conway.
A Rosary will be given at 7:00 PM on Friday, June 15, 2007 at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove.
There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at the Saint Elizabeth Catholic Church in Grove, Oklahoma at 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 16, 2007 with Father Alex Kennedy officiating.
There will be a Rosary at 7:00 PM on Sunday, June 17, 2007 Kennedy-Koster Funeral Home in Oakley, KS.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Oakley, KS at 10:30 AM on Monday, June 18, 2007 with Father Roger Meitl and Father Michael Elan officiating. Interment will follow in the Saint Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Oakley.
Memorial contributions may be made to Saint Elizabeth Catholic Church Building Fund in Grove, OK or Saint Joseph Catholic church in Oakley.
Services are under the direction of the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove, Oklahoma. Kansas arrangements are under the direction of the Kennedy-Koster Funeral Home in Oakley Kansas.

JAXON DAKOTA HADDOCK
2007 - 2007
GROVE – Jaxon Dakota Haddock died Wednesday, June 13, 2007 at the OSU Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
He was born in Tulsa on June 10, 2007 to Joyce Ann Thompson and Daniel Lee Haddock.
Survivors include his parents; one sister, Riley Haddock; maternal grandparents, William Donald Thompson, Brenda K. Thompson, Robert Wesley Betts, and Patricia Betts; paternal grandparents, Ronald and Bertha Haddock and Shelly and John Barton.
No services are planned at this time. Memorial contributions may be made to the March of Dimes in Jaxon’s name.
Arrangements are under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove, Ok.

JOANN ATCHISON
1927 – 2007
GROVE- Joann Atchison, 80, of Grove, Oklahoma passed away in Grove on Tuesday, December 18, 2007.
Visitation will be 9-10 A.M. Friday, December 21, 2007 at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove, Oklahoma.
Burial will be in Olympus Cemetery, Grove, Oklahoma

JOSEPH EDWARD DENNY
AUGUST 22, 1981 – DECEMBER 18, 2007
Joseph Edward Denny, 26, of Gentry, Arkansas, was called home to heaven on December 18, 2007. He was born August 22, 1981 in Gravette, Arkansas. He graduated from Genty High School in 2000, where he loved playing football and baseball for the Pioneers. He became an electrician and was employed by Coones Electric in Gentry. He became a volunteer fireman for the city of Gentry. He then opened his own business, Denny Construction of Gentry. He loved the great outdoors, camping, hunting and fishing, and spending time with his cousins and friends. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Gentry, Arkansas.
Joseph is survived by his father, Denny and wife Misty of Jay, Oklahoma, his mother and step-father, Kathy and Damon Hummingbird of Gentry, Arkansas, his grandparents, David and Loretta Millsap of Gentry, and Thomas and Gladys Denny of Jay, OK; two brothers, Thomas of Gentry and Justin of Jay, one sister, Jessica Hughs of Jonesboro, Arkansas; one step-brother, Brandon Denny of Jay, Oklahoma; two nephews, Dylan and Aiden and two nieces Sidney and Mackenzie; numerous aunts and uncles and friends. He also leaves a very special woman, his fiancé, Angela Wilmoth Beeler and her two sons, Hudson and Crafton Wilmoth Beeler of Gentry, Arkansas
Funeral services were at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 21, 2007 at First Baptist Church, Gentry, Arkansas. Dr. Robin Cowin, Pastor Stone Faulkenberry and Pastor Kenny Robertson officiated the service. Burial followed Visitation was Thursday, December 20, 2007 at Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs, Arkansas.

KENNETH W. JENKS
NOVEMBER 12, 1957 – DECEMBER 17, 2007
MUSKOGEE-Kenneth W. Jenks, 50-year-old former resident of Colcord, Oklahoma died December 17, 2007 at his home in Muskogee, Oklahoma. Born November 12, 1957 in Siloam Springs, Arkansas, he was the son of Charles and Pauline (Shaffer) Jenks.
He lived most of his life in Delaware County, Oklahoma. He retired as an aircraft mechanic from McDonald Douglas in 1991. Mr. Jenks was a member of the Colcord Missionary Baptist Church, Colcord, Oklahoma.
His wife Peggy Jenks in 1996 and his father Charles Jenks preceded him in death.
Survivors include two daughters, Jaylene Martin of Tulsa, OK and Crissy Sanders of Colcord, Oklahoma; five grandchildren; his mother Pauline Jenks of Muskogee, OK, and three brothers, Chuck Jenks of Kansas, OK, Tim Jenks of Muskogee, OK and Mike Jenks of Siloam Springs, AR.
Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 22, 2007 at Kansas Cemetery, Kansas, Oklahoma with Bill Sanders officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs, Arkansas.

ELMER G. KINGFISHER
1943 – 2007
Elmer G. Kingfisher of Wyandotte, Okla., passed away Friday, Dec. 7, 2007, at St. John's Regional Medical Center in Joplin, Mo., after a long illness. He was 63.
Elmer was born Dec. 31, 1943, in Picher, Okla., to Sam and Ollie (Lawhead) Kingfisher. He graduated from Picher High School in 1963 and had lived in the Picher, Wyandotte area all of his life.
He had worked at Seneca Indian School in Wyandotte, Okla., as a counselor and had worked at Bordertown Casino in Seneca, Mo., in the Maintenance Department.
Mr. Kingfisher was very proud of his Native-American heritage. He was of Cherokee descent and of the Wolf Clan. He gave speeches around the country on Native-American knowledge and culture and was a spiritual advisor to many. He will be greatly missed by his many friends and loving family. He was a wonderful person, a loving husband, father and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Duke Kingfisher, and a sister, Louise King.
He married Brenda Frost on June 24, 1967, in Afton, Okla. She survives, of the home.
Other survivors include one son, Ronnie Glenn Kingfisher and his wife Cyndi of Wyandotte, Okla.; a daughter, Clista Wynea Newman and her husband James of Seneca, Mo.; three sisters, Gladys Thatcher of Claremore, Okla., Lucinda Sveen of Portland, Ore., and Marion Thompson of Miami, Okla., and five grandchildren, Christian Schrader, Kaden Schrader and Greyson Newman of Seneca, Skyleigh Kingfisher of Baxter Springs, Kan., and Kyah Kingfisher of Wyandotte.
Funeral services were Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2007, at 2 p.m. at the Paul Thomas Funeral Home in Miami, Okla.
Pallbearers were Dan Brumley, Jeff Brumley, Daryl Spencer, Richard Lux, Richard Moore and Jim Smith.
Charles Whitekiller did officiate.
Indian rites were conducted by Jim and Molly Smith. Interment will be in G.A.R. Cemetery in Miami, Okla.
The family received friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9, 2007, at the Paul Thomas Funeral Home in Miami, Okla.

DELBERT LEE MORGAN
MARCH, 1929 – DECEMBER 18, 2007
COLCORD - Delbert Lee Morgan, 78 of Colcord, Oklahoma passed away at his home on Tuesday, December 18, 2007.
Delbert was born in Delaware County, OK on March 25, 1929 to George Dewey and Blanche (Allen) Morgan. He married Elwanda Aileen Davis in Bentonville, AR on October 11, 1949. Mr. Morgan was a member of the Colcord Church of Christ. He loved horses, fishing, playing cards and raising his cattle.
Survivors include; two daughters, Carol Sumpter and Wanda Ramsey and husband David all of Colcord, Oklahoma. one son, Danny Morgan also of Colcord, Oklahoma, 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Reba Hill of Cleburne, TX, Loneta Davis of Rogers, AR and Janis Walker of Springdale, AR.
Delbert was preceded in death by is parents, George and Blanche, his wife Aileen, a son-in-law Jim Sumpter, one brother Leonard Morgan and a sister Lola Bond.
Services for Mr. Morgan will be held on Friday, December 21, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home of Siloam Springs, Arkansas.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, December 20, 2007 from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.

WORDNA SAWYER
1923-2007
Wordna Duryea Sawyer, my precious wife, died at Grove General Hospital Tuesday December 18, 2007. She was 84 years old.
She grew up in Coalgate, OK. And entered nurses training at Oklahoma General Hospital in 1941. Wordna graduated nursing school in 1944 as a Registered Nurse. Wordna was very proud to be a R.N. In the summer of 1946 she met Herchel Sawyer and they were married on March 15, 1947 in the Olivet Baptist Church in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Wordna and Herchel celebrated 60 years of marriage this year. Mr. Sawyer was employed by American Airlines in Tulsa so they moved to Tulsa.
To this marriage was born two sons. Herchel Jr. and the late Phillip whom passed away in January of 2003. Wordna retired from Hillcrest Hospital September 1, 1978 and her and her husband, Herchel retired to Grove, OK the summer of 1978.
She loved Grove and the many friends she had. She loved her home and neighbors and especially her “Bunco Buddies”.
She was preceded in death by her son Phillip, her mother Lydia Dawson and Aunt Wilma Hall.
Leaving to grieve is her husband Herschel of the home, son, Herchel Jr., a grand daughter Suzanne Sawyer and great-grandchildren Jacob and Bailey Sawyer.
Memorial services will be at Ellis Funeral Chapel at 1:00 p.m. on Friday December 21, 2007. Burial will be at a later date at Floral Haven Cemetery in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
