BETTY JANE WINKLER
JANUARY 28, 1926 – DECEMBER 17, 2007
Betty Jane Winkler, 81 of Afton, Oklahoma formerly of Kankakee, IL, died December 17, 2007 in Grove, Oklahoma after a lingering illness. At her request, there is no visitation or service planned.
Betty was born January 28, 1926 in Gilman, IL, daughter of Raymond and Elma (Gillespie) Classen of Danforth, IL. She graduated from Gilman Community High School in 1943. Betty was married to James T. Winkler, January 9, 1981 in Rogers, Arkansas. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Grove. She had previously been a member of churches and choirs in Kankakee, IL. Elkhart, IN., Rogers, AR., and Grove.
Mrs. Winkler was retired from Pel-Freeze of Rogers, AR., where she was a Marketing Representative for Biological Products and Serums. She had been previously employed in similar positions with Armour Labs and Miles Labs in Kankakee and Bayer Laboratories in Elkhart, IN. Betty was well known to her friends in the Grove area as an avid pilot with multi-engine and instrument ratings. Her father, husband, two brothers were also pilots. She was an immaculate housekeeper, a fabulous cook and enjoyed working with her plants and gardening. Interior decorating was a great hobby. She always enjoyed traveling, especially when flying her own plane.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father Raymond and Elma Classen of Danforth, IL. She is survived by her husband James of the home, three children, Maria (Walter) Lemmond of Murfreesboro, TN, Steven Joe (Laura) Redman of Kankakee, Douglas (Marsha) Redman of Lee’s Summit, MO, eight grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers Charles (Norma) Classen of Danforth, IL. Harry (Bonnie) Classen of Fond du Lac, WI, and sisters Virginia (Ray) Tholen of Carterville, IL and Annette (Michael) Walczak of Naperville, IL sister’s in-law Tuck (Bill) Winkler of Galesburg, KS and Mary Winkler of Fayetteville, AR and one aunt, Gladys Schroeder of Gilman, IL.

ALFRED E. DICKMAN, JR.
1928-2007
Alfred E. Dickman, Jr., 78, passed away, August 15, 2007 at the Grove Nursing Center in Grove Oklahoma.
Alfred was born October 16, 1928 in Joplin Missouri to Alfred E. and Beryl Dickman. He graduated from Marshfield High school in 1947 then one month later, joined the United States Air Force. Alfred proudly served his country for 22 1/2 years. Alfred served during the Berlin Air lift, the Korea Conflict and Vietnam. Alfred retired from the military in 1969 as Chief Master Sergeant.
After retiring from the military, Alfred worked as the Manager of Camp Charles for the Sand Springs Home for twelve years. He volunteered for the Christian Mission Thrift Store in Grove Oklahoma for twenty-five years. Alfred enjoyed working with stained glass, computers and electronics. Alfred has been affiliated with the Masonic Lodge since 1977, and a member of the Methodist Church since 1980.
Alfred married the love of his life, Carol, on December 22, 1950 in Wahoo Nebraska.
Survivors include his wife Carol Dickman of the home, daughter Linda Cardoza, son Alfred E. Dickman III, both of Grove Oklahoma, two grandchildren, Jessica Taylor and her husband Doug of Beaumont California, James Cardoza and his wife Rachel of Phoenix Arizona, one sister Betty Ipock of Grove Oklahoma and one brother, James Dickman of Carlsbad New Mexico.
Alfred was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Ronald Dickman.
A Memorial Services has been scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 18, 2007 at the Ellis Family Funeral Home Chapel. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donation be made to the Grove Christian Mission Thrift Store, P.O. Box 451581, Grove, Oklahoma 74345. TIMOTHY LEROY SELSOR
1966-2007
FAIRLAND - Timothy Leroy Selsor, resident of Fairland, died at home, Saturday, Aug. 11, 2007, after an illness. He was 41. He was born Aug 5, 1966, at Miami, to Roy and Susan (Vaughan) Selsor He graduated from Fairland, was a graduate of Oklahoma University, and had studied law at the University of Tulsa. He had lived in Fairland since 1981, coming from Broken Arrow. He was of the Pentecostal faith. He is survived by his mother, Susan Selsor, of Fairland, his father, Roy Selsor, of Independence, KS., two brothers, Mark Selsor of Fairland, and Charlie Troy Selsor of Vinita, three half-sisters, Trudy Osburn of Commerce, Rhonda Kinser of Liberal, KS., and Christa Jennings of Oklahoma City, and his step-father, Troy Selsor of Fairland. A funeral will be at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2007, at First Assembly of God Church in Fairland, with Rev. Jackie Crafton officiating. Burial will be at Hickory Grove Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Brad Foo, Brian Foo, Chano Smith, Rex Osburn, Rick Greenfeather, and Jason Philpott. Honorary pallbearer will be George Poznik. A visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Monday, Aug. 13, 2007, at Adcock Funeral Home in Fairland. Arrangements provided by Adcock Funeral Home of Fairland.

MERL F. TINNEY
1930 – 2007
Merl F. Tinney, resident of Fairland, died at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, Monday August 13, 2007, after an illness. He was 76. Merl was born November 7, 1930 at Columbus, KS to William and Ruth (Cooley) Tinney. He had been a businessman, owning several businesses, with the last being that of an Internet Service Provider. He married May Helen Mercer on May 16, 1958 and she preceded him in death on July 23, 2003. He married Audrey Boyer on April 29, 2005. He moved to Fairland in 2005, coming from Grove, where he had been a resident since 1976. He was a member and elder in the First Christian Church in Fairland. He is survived by his wife of the home, two sons; David Tinney and wife Judy of Grove, Paul Douglas Tinney of Grove, a step-son and wife Vic and Brenda Boyer of Fairland, three step-daughters and their husbands, Frances and Keith Henson of Fairland, Donna and Cole Cummins of Sarcoxie, MO Nancy and Charles Welch of Joplin, MO, a brother William Tinney of Joplin, two half sisters; Gail Campbell of Carl Junction, MO and Verne Leeper of Columbus, MO six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, four great great-grandchildren and five step-great grandchildren. He was preceded by his parents, a step-mother, Nola Tinney, a brother Carl Eugene Tinney, and two half-sisters; Katie Wade and Lois Taylor. A funeral will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday August 17, 2007 at First Christian Church in Fairland with Minister Truman Brady officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be William Tinney, Eric Tinney, James Trollope, Reuben Hernandez, Mark Theeton and Shane Bowman. Burial will be at Park Cemetery in Columbus, KS at 2:00 p.m. Friday. A visitation for family and friends will be from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday August 16, 2007 at Adcock Funeral Home in Fairland. EVERETTE ‘SKIP’ WATSON
1949-2007
LABADIE, MO – Everette “Skip” Watson, age 58, of Labadie, Missouri passed into eternal life on Saturday, August 11, 2007 at Integris Grove General Hospital in Grove, Oklahoma.
Everette was born to Everette and Dorthea (Tucker) Watson on July 14, 1949 in Sikeston Missouri. He received his education in Granite City Illinois. Skip attended University for Electricians, and Missouri Baptist University, studying to become a pastor. Skip served in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged.
On November 27, 1982, Skip married Sheila Rodermund in Saint Louis Missouri.
Everette and Sheila lived in Brigton and Labadie Missouri. Skip accepted Jesus as a small child and lived his life for Jesus until the time of his death.
Skip enjoyed his computer, Hamm radio, playing cards, horse racing, camping, movies and just having fun.
Everette is survived by his wife of 24 1/2 years Sheila of the home, One sister, Janet Watson of Granite City Illinois, one son Scott Watson and his wife Heather and their three daughters of Highland Illinois, two daughters, Christine Cristobal and her husband Ernie and their two boys, Linda Garner and her husband Josh and their one son and two daughters all of Troy Illinois, sister in-law Sherry Smith and her husband (Steve) and their two boys, sister in-law Sharon Nichols and her two boys and one girl of Kaseyville Illinois.
Everette was preceded in death by his parents; a nephew Paul; and a brother in-law Larry.
Memorial Services will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 17, 2007 at the First Baptist Church of Grove located at 501 South Main street, Grove, Oklahoma.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested contributions be made to the First Baptist Church to help offset medical expenses. Services have been entrusted to Ellis Family Funeral Home.

EULA MAE ANDREWS
1928 – 2007
KANSAS, OK – Eula Mae Andrews, 78 of Kansas, Oklahoma died September 11, 2007 at her residence. Born October 5, 1928 in Manella, Arkansas she was the daughter of Sam and Emma Pickett Morgan. She lived most of her life except for 31 years in California. She was a school cook for Kansas Public School, Kansas, Oklahoma and a member of the Gospel Lighthouse Church in Kansas. She married Floyd Andrews in Yuma, Az. on September 13, 1945.
She was preceded in death by her husband on February 15, 2000. Survivors include two sons, Nick Andrews and wife Brenda of Twin Oaks, Oklahoma and Sam Andrews and wife Anita of Kansas, Oklahoma, one daughter Vicki Simmons and husband Beryl of Colcord, Oklahoma; 10 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Funeral services were 10:00 Friday September 14, 2007 at Gospel Lighthouse Church, Kansas, Oklahoma with Brother Sam Andrews officiating. Burial followed at the Kansas Cemetery. AFTON - Jadzeia Leigh Cross, infant daughter of Otis and Cassidy Shaul Cross, died at Integris Grove General Hospital, Sep. 11, 2007, after a sudden illness. She was born Jan. 18, 2006, at San Diego, CA., moving to Afton soon after birth. She is
survived by her parents, of the home, maternal grandfather, Phillip Shaul of Afton, maternal grandmother Leslee Crusing of San Diego, CA, maternal great-grandparents William and Zelda Shaul of Grove, and Jim and Linda Wells of San Diego, paternal grandparents Otis and Sandra Cross, Sr. of San Diego, paternal great-grandmother,Lillie Cross of Texas, and paternal great-grandfather, Jesse Cherry of Crosby, TX. A funeral will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, Sep. 15, 2007, at Adcock Funeral Home Chapel, with Roland Adcock officiating. Arrangements provided by Adcock Funeral Home in Afton.

BETTY SUE JARVIS
1934 – 2007
Betty Sue Jarvis, 72, of Grove Oklahoma, died at her home on Sunday, September 9, 2007. She was born at Ocala, Arkansas on October 8, 1034 to Willie Drew and Bessie Guinn. On September 10, 1951 she married John Jarvis at Lonoke, Arkansas. John's career with Multifoods took the couple to residences in Iowa, Missouri, Indiana and Kansas before settling into retirement in Grove, Oklahoma. Betty owned and operated “Bookworm”, a bookstore in Grove during the 1990's. The couple spent fifty loving years togther before John's death in 2006.
Survirors include: her mother Bessie Drew, three children, Doug Jarvis of Empire, Alabama, Pam Simons and husband Wally of Arma, Kansas, Dyana Conroy and husband Kirk of Girard, Kansas; a sister Shirley Perry and Charles Payne, grandchildren; Michael Darr, Andrew Simons, Christopher Jarvis, Thomas Proffitt, Jackie Proffitt, Katie Conroy, great grandchildren; Beth Yost, Bridget Yost, Wade Barnett, Raven Darr, Kaitlyn Darr, Maddie Darr, Grace Johnson and Ben Johnson.
A memorial service will be held at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove, Oklahoma at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Guy Morrow officiating.

MAXINE FRANCIS
1922 – 2007
TULSA- Maxine Francis passed away November 16, 2007 at Leisure Village Healthcare, Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was 85 years of age. Maxine was born September 4, 1922 in Schaberg, AR to Jesse Jewel Schaberg Francis and George Wilgus Francis. The Francis family moved from Schaberg, AR to the Dodge, OK community east of Grove. Maxine attended Grove High School and graduated from high school at Stilwell, OK.
During World War II, Maxine worked fro Southwestern Bell Telephone at Camp Crowder, Neosho, MO She was also employed for many years in the lab at St. John’s hospital in Tulsa, OK. Maxine was a born again Christian of the Pentecostal faith. She loved music and was an accomplished violinist and also played the guitar.
Maxine is survived by one sister, Janelle Rose Francis Cypret of Tulsa, OK four nephews Michael Cypret of El Segundo, CA, George Francis of Owasso, OK, David Francis and Gary Francis of Golden City, MO, one niece Joan Pendleton of Grove, OK. One sister-in-law Ella Francis also of Grove.
Maxine was preceded in death by her parents Jesse and George Francis, sis brothers, Hoyt Francis, Lyle Francis, Ralph Francis, Afton Francis, Kerwin Francis and her twin brother Arby Francis, one niece Debra Cypret.
Maxine will be laid to rest beside her parents at Olympus Cemetery near Grove, OK at 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 26, 2007. Graveside services are under the direction of Ninde-Brookside Funeral Home in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

NANCY LYNN INMAN GREAVES
1958-2007
MIAMI- Nancy Lynn Inman Greaves of Miami died at 12:37 p.m. Monday November 19, 2007 at Integris Baptist Regional Health Center in Miami after a long illness. She was 49. Nancy was born on November 22, 1958 in El Paso, Texas to Doyle and Patsy (Leforce) Inman. She graduated from Vinita High School in 1975. She attended Northeastern Oklahoma A & M College in Miami. In 1984 she moved to Miami from Vinita. She was a homemaker and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
On November 22, 1987 she married Billy R. Greaves. He survives of the home in Miami, Oklahoma.
Additional survivors include three daughters, BJ Greaves of the home, Melissa Waldon and husband Sean, Jennifer Bradford and husband Chris, two stepdaughters, Cristie Vaughn and husband Jim and Shelly Hartley, her parents Doyle and Patsy Inman, two sisters, Dee Dee Runge and husband Jim, and Kathy Palmer and husband Craig, 17 grandchildren, 10 nieces and nephews and a multitude of friends. One daughter Queesta, brother Mike and Nana and Grandpa, preceded her in death.
There was a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 23, 2007 at First Christian Church in Miami, OK with Minister Gary Reed officiating. Private burial of her cremains will take place later in G.A.R. Cemetery, Miami, OK.
The family suggests memorials in memory to Mrs. Greaves to the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home.
