Janice Joy Coley
Janice Joy Coley, 65, of Shawnee died Oct. 1 after a long illness.

She was born Nov. 30, 1937, in Shawnee to Jim and Marie (Edwards) Giddens.

Coley worked at Tinker Air Force Base as an inventory specialist.

On July 2, 1958, she married Orbie Coley in Shawnee.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Donald Giddens; and son, Ricky Coley.

Survivors include her husband; daughter and son-in-law, Janna and Mickey Childers of Tecumseh; son and daughter-in-law, Vince and Carolyn Coley of Lubbock, Texas; six grandchildren; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Tom and Ruth Giddens of Bethel, Roger and Pat Giddens of Bethel and Bob and Sheryl Giddens of Moore; and friend and care giver, B.J. Beavers.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Resthaven Funeral Home with the Rev. Chad Brodrick and the Rev. Robert Rider officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home.

Helen Louise Hasbell
Shawnee resident Helen Louise Hasbell, 79, died Oct. 1.

She was born July 4, 1924, near Tishomingo to John and Etta Harris.

She married David H. Hasbell Sr. Sept. 25, 1940. He preceded her in death on Jan. 9, 2003. She and was a homemaker.

Hasbell attended Oak Park Church of God and lived in the area since 1932.

She also was preceded in death by her parents, eight brothers and sisters and a daughter, Clara Belle Hasbell.

Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Hubert and Barbara Hasbell of Bethel Acres, David "Leon" and Shirley J. Hasbell of Shawnee, Edward and Shirley F. Hasbell of Shawnee and Kenneth and Susan Hasbell of Shawnee; daughter and son-in-law, Janis and Charles Linville of Princeton, Texas; one brother and three sisters; 21 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives.

Service will be 2 p.m. today at Oak Park Church of God. The Rev. Leroy Kerbo will officiate. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Walker Funeral Service.

Brent Edwin Bryant
Shawnee resident Brent Edwin Bryant died Sept. 30 at the age of 40.

Bryant was born on July 11, 1963, in Shawnee. He was the son of Jim Bryant and Mary Clarice Melot, both of Shawnee.

He graduated in 1981 from Shawnee High School, was a 1983 graduate of St. Gregory University and a 1985 graduate from the University of Oklahoma.

Bryant owned and operated StripeCo parking lot and driveway maintenance company. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church.

Survivors include his father and stepmother, Jim and Sherry Bryant; his mother, Mary Clarice Melot; his brother, John Bryant of Shawnee; his sister and brother-in-law, Rhonda and Tim Belcher of Shawnee; his nephew, Samuel Belcher of Shawnee; and many other relatives.

Service will be 2 p.m. today at Liberty Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Matthews and the Rev. Phil Thompson officiating. Burial will follow at Tecumseh Cemetery.

Thelma Susan Jenkins
Stroud resident Thelma Susan Jenkins died Sept. 30 at the age of 87.

Survivors include two daughters, Anita Davis of Tulsa and Zelda Wade of Springfield, Mo., two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Stroud. The Rev. Joe Molencupp will officiate. Burial will follow at the Stroud Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Stroud.

C. Clayton Jones
C. Clayton Jones of Shawnee died Thursday, Jan. 13, in Shawnee. He was 77 years old.

He was born Nov. 5, 1927, in Shawnee to Clarence Carson "C.C." and Lucy Lee (Wyant) Jones. He was a lifelong resident of Shawnee.

He attended grade school at Acme School and graduated Shawnee High School in 1945.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1945 to 1947. He worked at Sooner Supply for 32 years before retiring in 1987.

Jones married Jackie Spaugy April 15, 1946, in Shawnee.

He was a member of the Retreads motorcycle club.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Bob Jones.

He is survived by his wife, Jackie Jones of the home; two daughters and one son-in-law, Linda Thomas of Shawnee and Donna and Chris Rigney of McLoud; grandchildren and spouses, Rachelle and Eric Miller of Oklahoma City, Kelli Thomas and Robert Maggard of Edmond, Todd and Shawna Rigney of Shawnee, Traci Rigney and Thomas Keel of Harrah; three great-grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law, L. Keith and Marge Jones of Shawnee and Russell W. and Marilyn Jones of Guthrie.

Service will be 10 a.m. today at Cooper Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Guy Cagle officiating. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Park.

Cooper Funeral Home is directing arrangements.

Janet Elaine Webster
Stroud resident Janet Elaine Webster, 59, died Saturday, Jan. 15, in Stroud.

Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Milfay First Baptist Church with the Rev. Don Wilburn officiating.

Parks Brothers Funeral Service is directing arrangements.

William L. Smith
Former Stroud resident William L. Smith, 80, of Fort Rock, Ore., died Wednesday, Jan. 12, in Fort Rock.

He was born Feb. 20, 1924, in Stroud to Samuel and Martha (Bockman) Smith.

On May 26, 1942, he married Floy Woodward in Stroud. On Feb. 14, 1999, he married Maryann Steward in Fort Rock.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and earned the Purple Heart.

Smith was a pipe fitter for Grinnell Fire Protection and installed sprinkler systems in the GE Building, the U.S. Bank building and the Lloyd Center in Portland, Ore. He also was a federal inspector for fire protection systems around the country.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Floy, and sisters, Ruby, Zera, Mildred and Martha.

Survivors include his wife, Maryann Smith of Fort Rock; sons, Gary of Las Vegas and James of Yreka, Calif.; daughters, Evelyn Senske of Beaverton, Ore., Martha Smith of Cape Girardeau, Mo., Deborah White of Coburg, Ore., and Teresa Lindsey of Paisley, Ore.; stepdaughter, Becky Bias of Tulsa; and stepson, Tony Stewart of Bozeman, Mont.; 14 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Service will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Fort Rock Community Church.

Niswonger-Reynolds Funeral Home, Bend, Ore., is directing arrangements.

Dalton James Keihl
Meeker resident Dalton James "Jim" Keihl, 59, died Saturday, Jan. 15, in Oklahoma City.

He was born April 13, 1945, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Delton C. and Hazel (LaBaugh) Keihl.

On Feb. 14, 1999, he married Thelma Milton in Harrah.

He served in the U.S. Cost Guard for more than 26 years and was awarded the Bronze Star. After his retirement, Jim worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 10 years. He was a member of the American Legion and attended Morning Star Baptist Church in Meeker.

His parents and first wife, Lou, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Thelma Keihl of the home; four daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Ray Lovett of Florida, Sharon Willis of Norman, Linda Moore of Tulsa and Cynthia and Rex Conley of McLoud; three sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth Nelson of Cancun, Mexico, Dennis and Lawanna Coots of Norman and Billy and Vanessa Coots of Norman; one brother, Dennis Keihl of Florida; one sister, Marnie Horn of Florida; 15 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

Viewing will be 8 a.m. to noon today at Parks Brothers Chapel in Meeker.

Service will be 2 p.m. today at Morning Star Baptist Church in Meeker with the Rev. Glen White officiating. Burial will follow at New Hope Cemetery in Meeker. Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler is directing arrangements.

Willie Belle Martin
Meeker resident Willie Belle Martin, 85, died Sunday, Jan. 16, in Meeker.

She was born Feb. 5, 1919, in Shawnee to Rolly Jay Corrick and Elizabeth (Michael) Corrick.

In 1948 she married Virgil Martin in Shawnee. She worked at Mission Hill Hospital for 18 years in nutritional preparation.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother, Cletos Corrick of Chandler.

Surviviors include two sisters, Betty Kuhn of Euless, Texas, and Sadie Hollis of Shawnee; five brothers, David Ray Corrick of Shawnee, Clifford Corrick of Houston, A.J. Corrick of Dallas, Paul Corrick of Galveston, Texas, and Rolly B. Corrick of Stafford, Texas.

Service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Resthaven Memorial Park with the Rev. Leroy Kerbo officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home.
