Marcha Charlene Hickey
Tecumseh resident Marcha Charlene "Cookie" Hickey, 61, died Tuesday, Jan. 18, in Tecumseh.

She was born Aug. 27, 1943, in Earlsboro to Elbert Simon and Helen (Holmes) Simon.

She married Quentin Hickey on May 2, 1986, and was a homemaker.

Hickey was a Tecumseh resident for more than 20 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Robert Simon.

Survivors include her husband, Quentin Hickey of the home; five children, Kent Hickey of Tecumseh, Keith Hickey of Shawnee, Quentin Hickey Jr. of Tecumseh, Ramona James of Tahlequah and Deborah Gamble of Tecumseh; 10 grandchildren; and a brother, Jimmy Leroy Simon of Shawnee.

Graveside service was 2 p.m. Friday at Tecumseh Cemetery. Gaskill Funeral Home is directing arrangements.

Ronald Gene Dudley
Arlington resident Ronald Gene Dudley, 60, died Wednesday, Jan. 19, in Prague.

He was born on Aug. 23, 1944, in Bradley to Otis W. and Pauline Rachel (Painter) Dudley.

He retired from the Oklahoma Department of Transportation.

Dudley was a member of the NRA and a supporter of the Arlington volunteer fire department and neighborhood.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his brothers, Billy M. Dudley of Paden and Don Dudley of Shawnee; sister, Mary Jo Lewis of Shawnee; and nieces, Donna Lyn Dudley of Oklahoma City and Stefani Lyn Dudley of Richard Hills, Texas.

Service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Prague with Dr. Warren Danskin officiating.

Parks Brothers Funeral Service is directing arrangements.

James C. Williams
Tecumseh resident James C. "Jay Bird" Williams, 66, died Sunday, Jan. 16, in Tecumseh.

He was born Feb. 6, 1938, in Gore to Sid and Opal (Cooper) Williams.

He served with the U.S. Marines for 11 years during the Vietnam era and was stationed at Okinawa, Japan. He also was a member of the Oklahoma National Guard, Okemah.

He worked for Bond Baking Company and Mistletoe Express. He also worked as a cook and baker at Kettle Restaurant, Rainbow Inn and Art's Cafe.

He was a member of Bass-Pro.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Bill Williams.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Jamie Williams of Oklahoma City, Chris and Bonnie Williams of Oklahoma City and Kimberly Williams; former wife, Correne (McGowan) Williams; one brother, Leon Williams of Shawnee; two sisters, Charlene "Sherry" Deegan of Fresno, Calif., and Pat Brown of Bakersfield, Calif.; four grandchildren, Lauren Wocher, Madison Williams, Parker Williams and Austin Williams; and numerous other family members and friends.

Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Hopewell Cemetery in Bethel with the Rev. William Bentley officiating.

Cooper Funeral Home is directing arrangements.

Hobert Franklin Wilson
Seminole resident Hobert Franklin "Son" Wilson, 78, died Wednesday, Jan. 19, in Oklahoma City.

He was born March 3, 1926, in Graham to Samuel Hobert and Birtie Lorene Wilson.

He attended school in Sulphur.

He was the owner and operator of Brown Refrigeration.

Wilson served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He married Margueriete White in Clovis, N.M.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Sybil Keller and Mildred Owings; and daughter, Madge Elaine Coblentz.

Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Margueriete Wilson of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Allen Dale and Delores Shelby; four sisters, Gladys Worthern, Wanda Kohr, Lois Kinsley and Suzie Woodruff; four brothers, Travis Wilson, Glen Wilson, Jimmy Wilson and John Wilson; six grandchildren, Tammy Edwards, Kent Craft, Donny Coblentz, Steven Shelby, Stephanie Shelby and Paige Elaine Anderson; and five great-grandchildren.

Graveside service will be 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Tecumseh Cemetery.

Cooper Funeral Home is directing arrangements.

Glenn O. Beal
Shawnee resident Glenn O. Beal, 67, died Wednesday, Jan. 19, in Shawnee.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leslie and Geneva Beal; and brother, James Beal.

Survivors include his wife, Fern Beal of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Laura Beal of Collinsville, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Nikki and Jon McDaniel of Broken Arrow; grandchildren, Heather, Tara, Whitney and Grant; one great-grandson; stepchildren, Gloria Douthit, David George, Beverly Chapline and Gerry George, all of Shawnee; sisters and brothers-in-law, Erma and Danny Nicely of Meeker, Joyce and Glen Roberts of Meeker and Freda and Bill Daugherty of Noble; sister-in-law, Donna Beal of Shawnee; and several nieces and nephews.

No service has been planned.

Resthaven Funeral Home of Shawnee is directing arrangements.

Maurita Joyce Tibbits
Shawnee resident Maurita Joyce Tibbits, 75, died Saturday, Jan. 22, in an Oklahoma City hospital.

She was born Dec. 7, 1929, in Tecumseh. She graduated from Tecumseh High School in 1947.

She worked for Southwestern Bell as an operator and later a stores attendant before retiring in 1985.

She was a member of First Baptist Church in Shawnee and the Tecumseh High School Alumni Association.

She was preceded in death by her father, Jeff O'Neal; mother and stepfather, Lacy and Mildred Alston, and son, David Ernest Tibbits.

Survivors include her daughter, Millie Tibbits of Oklahoma City; two sisters, Sannie Deatherage of Shawnee and Louise McKee of Florida; several nieces and nephews including Melanie Corter and her husband, Mark, of Shawnee and Larry Trice and his wife, Judy, of Tecumseh.

Viewing will be until 8:30 p.m. today at Gaskill Funeral Home. There will be no viewing at the service.

Service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Tecumseh Cemetery.

Jerry Wayne Freeman
Shawnee resident Jerry Wayne Freeman, 53, died Saturday, Jan. 22, in an Oklahoma City hospital.

He was born Aug. 26, 1951, in Oklahoma City to J.D. and Rosemary Freeman. He attended several community schools and graduated from Shawnee High School. He later graduated from Okmulgee Tech and Oklahoma State University.

He married Millie Hunter Nov. 30, 1970, in Okmulgee and served in the United States Army during Vietnam.

Freeman was a surveyor.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Survivors include his wife, Millie Freeman of Tecumseh; daughter and son-in-law, Melanie and Brian Johnson of Shawnee, Kan.; son, Jeremy Freeman of Tecumseh; mother and stepfather, Rosemary and Bill Henson of Choctaw; brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Sharon Freeman of Lawton; sisters and brothers-in-law, Janise and R.D. Dean of Tecumseh, Lisa and Gary Lively of Choctaw, and many other relatives.

Service will be 10 a.m. today at Walker Funeral Service Chapel with the Rev. Paul Whitlock officiating. Burial will be at Fort Sill National Cemetery at 2 p.m.

Joe Wilson Taylor
Joe Wilson Taylor died Friday, Jan. 21, in Clinton, Mo., at the age of 32.

He was born Sept. 7, 1972, in Wewoka to Calvin Wilson Taylor and Mary Sue Larney Brown. He was a graduate of Shawnee High School where he excelled at track and basketball. He was a member of Shawnee First Indian Baptist Church where he served as Sunday school teacher and sponsor of the youth group.

He was preceded in death by his father, Calvin Taylor, in February 2004, and his grandparents, Charlie and Munna Larney and Joe and Edna Taylor.

Survivors include his daughter, Brittani Taylor of Shawnee; mother, Mary Sue Brown of Dallas, Texas; brother, Brad Taylor of Shawnee; uncles and aunts, Jimmy and Lina Taylor, Geneve Larney, Kenneth Larney, Richard Larnbey, all of Holdenville, Leon Postoak of Oklahoma City, and many other relatives.

Service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Spring Baptist Church, Sasakwa, with the Rev. Jimmy Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemeteryunder the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home of Holdenville.
