Rita Joyce Hall Walker
Boulder, Colo., resident Rita Joyce Hall Walker, 58, died Thursday, Jan. 27, in Boulder.

She was born March 27, 1946, in Shawnee to Harold R. Hall and Elsie V. Hale Hall.

She earned a bachelor of arts degree from The University of Oklahoma in 1968.

She was in social work for 38 years, 25 of those in Boulder.

She received the Boulder County Circle of Honor award and the Boulder County Employee of the Month award for February 1989 from Boulder County Social Services.

In 1968, she married Bob Walker in Oklahoma City.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include a son, Brett Walker of Austin, Texas; two brothers, Ron Hall of Albuquerque, N.M., and Carroll Hall of Austin, Texas.

A memorial service was held Saturday, Jan. 30, at Crist Mortuary, 3395 Penrose Place, Boulder, Colo.

Howard Ray McLaughlin
Seminole resident Howard Ray McLaughlin, 70, died Sunday, Jan. 30, at his home.

He was born Jan. 23, 1935, in Carnegie to Robert Daniel McLaughlin and Goldie Mae Reinking.

He lived in Shawnee until nine years ago when he moved to Seminole.

McLaughlin was employed at Shawnee Milling Co. until his retirement.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

Survivors include two sons, Michael McLaughlin and Dan McLaughlin, both of Shawnee; one daughter, Diana Heffley of Midwest City; one brother, Vernon McLaughlin of Shawnee; one sister, Mildred Edmonds of Longview, Miss.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Service will be 10 a.m. today at Swearingen Funeral Home chapel, Seminole, with the Rev. Art and Pat Coffey officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery, Shawnee.

Swearingen Funeral Home is directing arrangements.

Jimmie Randel Cox
Shawnee resident Jimmie Randel Cox, 71, died Monday, Jan. 31, at his home.

He was born Nov. 12, 1933, in Shawnee to Tom and Dosha Harmon-Cox.

He graduated from Shawnee High School and later attended college.

On Aug. 7, 1952, he married Lola Dobbs in Seminole.

Cox worked as a production control supervisor with Aero Commander and had worked with small personal aircraft.

He was a lifetime member of Trinity United Methodist Church and was a member of the Seminole Elks Lodge.

He was preceded in death by his father; brother, Jerry Cox; and two sisters, Nancy Windel and Linda Cox.

Survivors include his wife, Lola Cox of the home; four sons, Steve Cox of Shawnee, Jimmie Cox of Wellston, David Cox of Shawnee and Timothy Cox of Shawnee; two daughters, Cathy Robinson of Shawnee and Karen Cox of Great Falls, Mont.; mother, Dosha Sayers of Shawnee; two brothers, Tommy Cox of Athens, Tenn., and Dick Cox of Sand Springs; numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Service will be 1:30 p.m. today at Trinity United Methodist Church.

Gaskill Funeral Home is directing arrangements.

Lola D. Ingram
ADA -- Services for Lola D. Ingram of Ada, Oklahoma, are 2:00 p.m., Thursday, February 3, 2005, at Smith-Phillips Chapel, Ada, OK. The Rev. Edward Horton officiating. Interment will be at Rosedale Cemetary in Ada, OK.

Ms. Ingram died Monday, January 31, 2005 at Shawnee Care Center in Shawnee, OK at the age of 97. She was born November 22, 1907, in Pontotoc County to William T. King and Mary Oliver King. She married Jack Ingram on October 24, 1925 at Stonewall, OK, they were married for 70 years. Mr. Ingram passed from this life in 1995.

Ms. Ingram attended Eubanks Schools while growing up. She was a homemaker and lifelong resident of the Ada area. She also attended the First Free Will Baptist Church. She loved being a caregiver and visiting people in nursing homes.

Ms. Ingram is survived by three nephews: Dill King of Wayne, Michigan, George King of Oklahoma City, OK and Bobby King of Shawnee, OK, and five nieces: Tommie Lou Har of Shawnee, OK, Lorene Caruthers of Tupelo, OK, Estalene Jackson of Coalgate, OK, Margrett Ann Johnston of Eufaula, OK, and Doris Myers of Florida.

Preceded in death by: her husband Jack Ingram, a daughter: Mary Edith Ingram, her parents: William and Mary King, three brothers and three sisters.

The family of Lola D. Ingram would like to Thank the Preferred Hospice Care and the Shawnee Care Center for all that they did to help Ms. Ingram.

Pallbearers: George King, Randy King, Bill Russell, Bobby King, Mike Hair and Shawn Rhoades

Eunita Clifton
Shawnee resident Eunita Clifton, 81, died Sunday, Jan. 30, at an Oklahoma City hospital.

She was born Aug. 1, 1923, in Tillman County, Hunter Township, to Tracy Phillip Haught and Pearl Leona (Fort) Haught.

She graduated from Leedey High School in 1942.

Clifton was a member of Rock Creek Baptist Church.

On March 4, 1943, she married Virgil Dee Clifton in Arapaho. They moved to a farm east of Shawnee Aug. 18, 1948.

She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband; son, Larry Clifton; and daughter, Carol Dettmann.

Survivors include four daughters and sons-in-law, Connie and Donnie Heffley, Donna and John Schwegman, Gayla and Ralph Casey and Rita and Jerry Campbell; son-in-law, Rich Dettman; 13 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

Service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Rock Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Richard Zimmer officiating. Burial will be at Tecumseh Cemetery.

Walker Funeral Service is directing arrangements.

Charles Victor Pearce
Charles Victor (Charlie) Pearce, 76, of Shawnee died Thursday at a local hospital.

He was born Dec. 12, 1925, in Stockton, Calif., to William Charles and Violet (Bunt) Pearce.

He was a retired carpenter.

Pearce served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean conflict.

He was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Chapter 1317 and the Disabled American Veterans No. 54 in Shawnee.

He lived in Afton, Va., for 35 years before moving to Shawnee in 1994.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Michael C. and SaraRuth Pearce of Shawnee; one daughter, Nancy L. Gamboni of Chowchilla, Calif.; two grandchildren, Charity S. Pearce and Christiana R. Kostura; and two great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Fairview Cemetery witha representative of the Veterans of Foreign Wars officiating.

Burial will follow under the direction of Gaskill-Owens Funeral Chapel.

Dema Louise Sloan
Dema Louise Sloan, 83, of Maud died Friday at Sunset Estates Care Center in Maud.

Survivors include one sister and brother-in-law, Jerri and Dewey J. Smith of Maud; niece and nephew, Topsey and Albert Flesher of Maud; a great niece and her husband; a great nephew and his wife; and eight great-great nieces and nephews.

Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Memorial Park Cemetery in Ada with the Rev. John Borrego officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Knight-Swearingen Funeral Home of Maud.

Jessie Joe Davis
Jessie Joe Davis, 62, of Wewoka died Thursday at Presbyterian Hospital in Oklahoma City.

Survivors include his parents, Crawford "Curley" and Alta Davis of Seminole; two sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Michele Davis of Seminole and Curtis and Stephanie Davis of Sacramento, Calif.; one daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Terry McGinnis of Seminole; three brothers, James Davis of Wewoka, Crawford Davis of Cromwell and Gary Davis of Ardmore; two sisters, Carolyn Brewer of Wewoka and Linda Knotz of Roswell, N.M.; and 10 grandchildren.

Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Russell Ryker officiating. Burial will follow at the Little Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
