Tecumseh resident Pauline J. Lollar, 79, died Wednesday in Shawnee.

Services are 2 p.m. Saturday at Cooper Funeral Chapel of Tecumseh. Burial will follow at Holdenville Cemetery. Further arrangements will be announced later by Cooper Funeral Home.

Georgia Belle Welborn
Meeker resident Georgia Belle (Barnes) Welborn, 75, died Wednesday, Feb. 2, at an Oklahoma City hospital.

She was born Dec. 18, 1929, in Shawnee to Willie Hute Barnes and Gladys (Douglas) Barnes.

She attended Jarvis and Prairie Valley schools.

She was married Oct. 22, 1948, in Gainesville, Texas, to J. W. Welborn. He preceded her in death Nov. 19, 2004.

They owned J. W. Welborn Trucking Co. of Shawnee.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Meeker.

She also is preceded in death by her parents, infant son, Billy Don Welborn; brothers, Donald Barnes and Johnny Price Barnes; sisters, Margaret Sykora, Elaine Jeffcoat and Geraldine Barnes; mother and father-in-law, Rosa and Jim Welborn.

Survivors include three daughters, Pat Welborn Kaplan of Houston, Texas, Beverly Welborn Ball and husband, Greg, of Meeker and Karen Welborn Mills and husband, Chuck, of Shawnee; grandson, Matt Kaplan of Houston, Texas; granddaughters, Britan Mills and Kurstyn Mills of Shawnee; sister, Eleanor Hammonds of Pryor; brothers, Edd and Retha Barnes of Tecumseh, Leroy and Susie Barnes of Oklahoma City, Dayton and Linda Barnes of Seminole, Darrell Barnes of Shawnee and Kenneth and Carolyn Barnes of Shawnee.

Service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church of Shawnee with the Rev. Joe Jones officiating. Burial will be at New Hope Cemetery in Meeker under the direction of Walker Funeral Service.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Meeker Building Fund.

Laura Lee Mayes
Tecumseh resident Laura Lee (Hogue) Mayes, 78, died Thursday, Feb. 3, in Tecumseh.

Service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Cooper Funeral Chapel in Tecumseh. Other information is pending and will be announced by Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.

Carl Walter Peercy
Carl Walter Peercy, 92, died Monday, Feb. 1.

He was born Jan. 18, 1913, in Oliver Springs, Tenn., to William Bart and Maud Ellen (Upchuch) Peercy.

He lived in Kentucky until 13 when his family moved to Oklahoma. He worked most of his life in oilfield construction and retired from the Department of Transportation, where he worked in the road maintenance department.

Peercy is preceded in death by his parents, William and Maud Peercy; his brothers, Earnest A. Peercy, Larnce J. Peercy, Haral Peercy, Billy G. Peercy, Willard Peercy, Tack Peercy, Jack Peercy; and one sister, Rema Grimes.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred of Tecumseh; son, Mack and his wife, Karen, Peercy of Tecumseh; three grandchildren, Michael and wife Tori Peercy, Kara Dillman and Marty Peercy; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Jean Smith of Yukon and Jo Myers of Okemah; many nieces and nephews and other relatives.

Service will be 1 p.m. today at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Tecumseh. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Wewoka with the Rev. Mike Raines. Arrangements are under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home of Wewoka.

Ellis David Casteel
Seminole resident Ellis David Casteel, 89, died Wednesday, Feb. 2, in Seminole.

Service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole with the Rev. Harold Turner officiating.

Burial will follow at Little Cemetery. Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole is directing arrangements.

Harvey Lee Riggin
Tecumseh resident Harvey Lee Riggin, 48, died Friday, Feb. 4, in Tecumseh.

A private family service is scheduled.

Neva Irene Wood
El Reno resident Neva "Peggy" Irene Wood, 84, died Thursday, Feb. 3, in an El Reno hospital.

Service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jim White officiating. Burial will be at Maple Grove Cemetery.

Swearingen Funeral Home is directing arrangements.

William Edgar Bland
Longtime Seminole resident William "Bill" Edgar Bland, 88, died Friday, Feb. 4, in Seminole.

Service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Swearingen Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Larry Sparks officiating. Burial will be at Holdenville Cemetery.

Swearingen Funeral Home is directing arrangements.

Charles E. Shorney
Shawnee resident Charles E. Shorney, 80, died Friday, Feb. 4, in Meeker.

He was born Sept. 17, 1924, in Shawnee to Joe and Audrey Shorney.

He graduated from Shawnee High School in 1942.

He was a farmer and a mechanic for 24 years at Theo's Auto Service.

On July 20, 1951, he married Catherine Brown in Lawton.

He was a member of Aydelotte Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon, Sunday school director, Sunday school teacher and a church bus driver.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Louise Blassingame.

Survivors include his wife, Catherine Shorney of the home; daughter, Dr. Mayda Shorney of the home; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Bernice Rose, Joanna and Bill Fowler, and Velma and Ron Neeley, all of Shawnee; and several nieces and nephews.

Service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Aydelotte Baptist Church with the Rev. Ken May and Dr. Charles Cavett officiating. Burial will be at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Aldrich, Mo.

Walker Funeral Home is directing arrangements.

Ruby H. Clay
Shawnee resident Ruby H. Clay, 100, died Thursday, Feb. 3, at her home.

Service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Gaskill Funeral Home Chapel. Other information is pending with Gaskill Funeral Home.

Laura Lee Mayes
Tecumseh resident Laura Lee (Hogue) Mayes, 78, died Thursday, Feb. 3, in Tecumseh.

She was born June 19, 1926, in Shawnee to Ora Gibson and Lou Vina (Roberts) Hogue.

On Oct. 31, 1946, she married Olen B. Mayes in Tulsa. He preceded her in death on March 4, 1996. She was a homemaker and a member of Sharon Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters; and one brother.

Survivors include her sister, Anna Edgeman of Tecumseh; brother and sister-in-law, Charley and Annette Hogue of Tecumseh; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Service will be 10 a.m. today at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Clint Dawkins officiating. Burial will be at Brown Cemetery.

Cooper Funeral Home is directing arrangements.

Frankie Louise Taylor
Frankie Louise Taylor, 75, longtime resident of Seminole, died Sunday at Oklahoma Heart Hospital.

She was born Dec. 21, 1927, in Duncan to Jasper and Mollie (Smith) Howell.

She married Albert Morris Taylor on Dec. 24, 1946, in Seminole and was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughters, Mary Anglin and Penny Berry; son, Rodney Taylor; grandson, Gary Anglin; great-grandson, Marcus Brooks; brothers, Jack Howell, Jim Howell and Jerry Howell, and sisters, Norma Blair and Billy Kelley.

Survivors include her husband, Morris Taylor, of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne "Butch" and Vickie Taylor, and David and Dana Taylor, all of Wewoka; daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Lonnie Goodnight of Coweta, and Linda and David Mead of Smithland, Iowa; a sister-in-law, Mary Lee Howell, 17 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel, with Gene Hill officiating. Burial will follow at Little Cemetery.
