Nancy Jane Collins
Nancy Jane Collins, 66, of Shawnee died Wednesday in Oklahoma City.

She was born March 15, 1936, in Seminole. She was a registered nurse for 15 years in Arkansas and head of the oncology unit at Central Arkansas Hospital. She moved to Shawnee with her daughter, DeeAnn and son-in-law, Richard.

Collins was preceded in death by her husband, Howard "Rip" Collins.

Surviving relatives include three children, Larry Sanford and wife Jeannie of Edmond, DeeAnn Schroyer and husband Richard of Shawnee, and Judy "JB" Sanford of Dallas; five grandchildren, Shannon Schoonover, Kelly Dies, Haley Dies, Sarah Sanford and Lacey Sanford; two stepgrandchildren, Lance Schroyer and Jill Zellmer; and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be 1:30 p.m. today at Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Shawnee.

Memorial gifts may be made to the American Cancer Society.

William Jackson O'Neal
William Jackson "Bill" O'Neal, 80, of Tecumseh died Thursday in Tecumseh.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Cooper Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Tecumseh Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.

JoAnn Carolyn Carver
Norman resident JoAnn Carolyn Carver, 62, formerly of Shawnee, died Monday in Norman.

Survivors include her stepdaughter, Roberta Motes, Fletcher; five daughters, Janie Soto and husband, Tony of Norman, Lynda Shafer and fiance, John Yates, Oklahoma City, Robin Wertz, Chowchilla, Calif., Christy Carver, Oklahoma City, and Traci Putman, Norman; nine grandchildren, including two whom she adopted and raised; two great-grandchildren, and many other relatives.

Services will be 2 p.m. today at Havenbrook Funeral Home Chapel in Norman with Hugh English officiating. Burial will follow at the Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in Norman.

Lonnie Neal Smith
Meeker resident Lonnie Neal Smith, 45, formerly of Shawnee, died Thursday at his home.

Survivors include his mother, Letha Lee Smith, Meeker; brothers and sisters-in-law Harold and Coretha Smith, Skiatook; Steve and Verena Smith, Shawnee; David Smith, Seminole; John and Margaret Smith, Seminole; sisters and brothers-in-law Ruth and Claid Bales, Meeker; Sandra and James Eddings, Prague; Brenda and Richard Scott, Byers; Elaine and Jerry Bledsoe, Sallisaw; and Regina and Lee Sexton, Kingston, and several other relatives.

Graveside service will be 1 p.m. today at the Tecumseh Cemetery with the Rev. Mike McCauley officiating. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.

Kimberly Ann Thomas
Kimberly Ann (Duncan) Thomas, 37, of Konawa died Friday, Feb. 21, at an Ada hospital.

Survivors include her mother, Mary (Hailey) Miller of Konawa; her stepfather, Donnie Branscum of Ada; two sisters, Keri (Branscum) York of Konawa, and Christina (Branscum) Fleming of Shawnee; one niece and one nephew; her grandfather, Roy G. Duncan of Shawnee; aunt, Alma Griffin, Shawnee, uncle, Mike Hailey, Eufaula; and several friends.

Services were 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church in Saint Louis under the direction of Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa. Graveside services and burial was in Vamoosa Cemetery.

Walter Earl Kinsey
Seminole resident Walter Earl Kinsey, 80, died Tuesday at his home.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Ann (Piersing) Kinsey, of the home; son Michael Kinsey of Gilbert, Ariz.; daughter Sharon Haley, Pt. Heneme, Calif.; stepdaughter Tammy Cicogna, Virginia Beach, Va.; nine grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and numerous great great-grandchildren.

Services will be Saturday at Swearingen Funeral Chapel, James Johnson officiating.

Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.

Wilma Lowry
Meeker resident Wilma Lowry, 70, died Wednesday at a local hospital.

She was born in Meeker on Dec. 3, 1932, to Ben Gentry and Mary (Martin) Gentry.

She was a Meeker resident most of her life and was formerly employed by Tinker Air Force Base.

She was a member of the First Christian Church of Meeker.

Her parents and brothers Donald Eugene, Clifford and Jimmy Gentry preceded her in death.

Survivors include her son, Johnny Fowler, Watonga; her daughter and son-in-law, Terri and Alan Bernard, Sherman, Texas; stepchildren Judy, Christine and David, all of Houston; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law, J.B. and Mary Lee Gentry, Eufaula; sister Marietta Gouker, Freedom, Calif.; sisters and brothers-in-law Jess and Della Linn, Meeker; Richard and Sue Green, Meeker; and Dan and Janie Wilson, Meeker; sisters-in-law Gertrude Gentry, Tecumseh; and Susan Gentry, Salina, Kan.; former husband and friend Bert Lowry, Eufaula; and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. Leon Williams officiating.

Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Park, under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home.

Alma Lee Brown
Alma Lee Brown, 84, died Wednesday.
Survivors include three sisters, Orene Bridges, Reba Fern Elliot and Helen Chaffin; and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Hahn-Cook/Street and Draper Chapel.

Nina Mae Wallace
Nina Mae Wallace of Shawnee died Sunday at a local nursing home. She was 83.

She was born Aug. 31, 1919, in Asher to Glen Emery Jackson and Altha Mae (Hughbanks) Jackson. She graduated from Shawnee High School and attended Shawnee Beauty School. She was sent by Tinker Air Force Base to Chicago Instrument School and, during World War II, she worked on airplane instruments at Tinker. She also was bookkeeper and part owner of Polly Shade Factory.

On Feb. 23, 1948, she married Charles Seth Wallace in Chicago, Ill.

She was a member of The Living Church of God and had been a Shawnee resident since 1959.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband; two sisters, Doris and Virginia, and a brother, Harold Leroy.

Surviving relatives include a son, Gordon Wallace of Shawnee; two daughters, Linda Crist of Oklahoma City and Peggy Befort and her husband Albert of Shawnee; brother and sister-in-law, Glen Emery and Lila Jackson; sister-in-law, Delores Jackson; three grandchildren, Kenneth S. Befort, Susan Crist and John Crist, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be 11 a.m. today at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.

Marvin Owen Jones Sr.
Shawnee resident Marvin Owen Jones Sr., 85, died Saturday at an Oklahoma City hospital.

He was born April 14, 1917, in Prairie Hill, Texas to Jeromie D. and Sara Victoria (Downs) Jones. He married Amy Lee Coslow in Oklahoma City, June 1, 1940.

Jones served in the Merchant Marine during World War II. He moved to Shawnee from Bethany in 1970 and retired from Tinker Air Force Base in 1975.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Lewis Jones, and five sisters, Myrtis Perkins, Verdie Harner, Bessie Jones, Dessie Jones and Leora Jones.

Surviors include wife Amy Lee Jones of the home; son, Marvin Jones Jr. of the home; a granddaughter and her spouse, Jennifer and Denver McCray of Earlsboro; two great-granddaughters, three great-grandsons; sister and brother-in-law, Lula and James Elliot of Bishop, Calif.; brother, Gerold Jones of Vallejo, Calif., and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services are 2 p.m. today at Blackburn Chapel Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry Sparks and the Rev. Eric Costanzo officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Garden of Oklahoma City under the direction of Walker Funeral Service.

Ernest Monroe Wickware
Shawnee resident Ernest Monroe Wickware died Monday at a local nursing home. He was 88.

He was born in Maysville on March 4, 1914, to Eura and Alice Wickware. He served in the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC). He married Naomi Neovella White. He later married Mayme Burke.

He retired from Tinker Air Force Base after 15 years.

He attended Oak Park Church of God for approximately 10 years.

He was preceded in death by an infant son, Larry Ray Wickware; parents, Eura and Alice Wickware; sister, Myrtle Johnson, and four brothers, Elmer, Marvin, Lester and Calvin Wickware.

Survivors include his brother and sister-in-law, Albert and Lorelle Wickware, Tyler, Texas; daughters and sons-in-law, Louvilla and Tom Dame, Fort Lumpton, Colo.; Barbara and Joe Smith, Tecumseh; nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the chapel of Walker Funeral Service, the Rev. Leroy Kerbo officating. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Park, under the direction of Walker Funeral Services.

Jerry Paul Kennedy
Jerry Paul Kennedy, 50, of Harrah died Friday in Midwest City.

Surviving relatives include his mother, Annie Kennedy of Harrah; brothers and sisters-in-law, Virgil and Frances Kennedy of Mableton, Ga., and Bill and Samorn Kennedy of Fort Worth, Texas; family friend, Anita Eileen Roberts of Del City, and many other relatives. His father, Barney Warren Kennedy, preceded him in death.

Services will be 10 a.m. today at First Baptist Church in Harrah with the Rev. Gary Eubanks officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Lane Cemetery in Harrah. Arrangements are under the direction of Smith-Parks Funeral Service, Harrah.

Mary Presley Cardwell
Longtime Chandler resident Mary Alice Marie Presley Cardwell died Saturday in Meeker at the age of 76.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Bill Duncan, Sparks; sons and daughters-in-law, Curtis and Jean McFarland, McLoud; Bill and Cheryl Presley, Enid; Leonard and Dora Presley, Lawton; two brothers, Paul Hobbs, Blackwell; Gearl Hobbs, Enid; 22 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren, and other relatives.

Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Chandler with the Rev. Doyle Seeley officiating. Burial will be at Bethel-Greenwood Cemetery, Chandler.

Virginia Masterson
Virginia "Gayle" Masterson, 58, Fort Worth, Texas, died Feb. 28 at a Texas hospital.

She was born Oct. 30, 1944, in Rayne, La., to Virginia Doy and Baldwin Haynes Jones. She attended Sulphur, La., High School.

She was married to Charles Masterson from 1962 to 1987 and was a homemaker.

Preceding her in death were her father, Baldwin Jones, and son, Chuck Masterson.

Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Shannon and Bernardo Pana of Fort Worth, Texas; grandchildren, Antonio Pana of Fort Worth, Texas; Brigette Masterson and Curtis Masterson, both of Edmond; her mother, Doy Christian of Fort Worth, Texas; brother, Mark Jones of Ruidoso, N.M., and niece, Alisa Cavener of Midwest City.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. today in the Chapel of Walker Funeral Service with the Rev. Larry Sparks officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens, Oklahoma City.
