Mildred Catherine Jordan Mann
Shawnee resident Mildred Catherine Jordan Mann, 85, died Tuesday, March 15, in Sulphur.

She was born Jan. 3, 1920, in Dewar to Jonathan David and Arlie (Hamilton) Jordan.

On Jan. 24, 1942, she married Haldene Mann in Edinburg, Texas.

She grew up in Porum and graduated from Porum High School. She lived in Sulphur many years before moving to Oklahoma City and the Shawnee area. She retired from Dotson Cafeteria in Oklahoma City as a cook in 1986.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a sister, Frances, and a brother, Joe.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Dean Digby of Davis; two sons and daughters-in-law, Joel and Nona Mann of Dougherty and Jerry and Jolene Mann of Sulphur; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brothers, Fred Jordan of Muskogee, Frank Jordan of Shawnee, Chuck Jordan of Muskogee and Kenneth Jordan of Martinez, Calif.; and nieces and nephews.

Service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at First Free Will Baptist Church in Sulphur with the Rev. Brad Ransom officiating. Burial will be at Drake Cemetery in Sulphur under the direction of Clagg Funeral Home.

Paulette Louise Tall Chief Coffey
Shawnee resident Paulette Louise Tall Chief Coffey, 57, died Tuesday, March 15, in Lawton.

Prayer service will be 7 p.m. today at Deyo Mission Church in Lawton.

Service will be 10 a.m. Friday at First Indian Baptist Church in Shawnee.

Burial will be in Holdenville under the direction of Comanche Nation Funeral Home of Lawton.

James Timberlake
Dr. James Timberlake, 87, of Shawnee died Sunday, March 13, at his home.

Burial will be 9 a.m. Friday at Resthaven Memorial Park and the service will be 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church, Shawnee.

Walker Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Betty Nadene Affentranger
Las Vegas resident Betty Nadene Affentranger, 70, died Thursday, Feb. 23.

She was born Feb. 8, 1935, in Turkey, Texas, to Otis Earl and Carrie Armenda (Clemons) Garrison

She lived most of her childhood in Clinton.

She was married Aug. 8, 1952, in Clinton to John Delmar Affentranger.

She was an alumna of Pomona College in Claremont, Calif., and San Fernando Valley State College in San Fernando, Calif. She held a bachelors degree in elementary education and a masters degree in school counseling.

Affentranger's career spanned 28 years. She was an elementary school teacher in Lancaster, Calif., and in Prague. She also was a Title IX Indian educator in Prague. Upon retiring in 1990 she moved to Oklahoma City, where she volunteered in Oklahoma Gov. David Walters' office. She moved to Las Vegas in July 2002.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her brother, Jess David Garrison; and three infant siblings.

Survivors include two sons, John Jr. of Oklahoma City and Gary of Norman; three daughters, Janet of Hays, Kan., Delana of Moore and Deborah of Las Vegas; a brother, Otis Earl "Chuck" Garrison of Amarillo, Texas; two sisters, Ada Mae Harper of Granada, Miss., and Wanda Jo Thornburgh of San Augustine, Texas; and 11 grandchildren.

Service will be 2 p.m. Monday at John Ireland Funeral Home and Chapel in Moore. Burial will be at the Moore Cemetery.

Harvey Glen Godsoe
Richardson, Texas, resident Harvey Glen "Bud" Godsoe, 73, died Saturday, Feb. 26, in Richardson, Texas.

He was born April 3, 1931, in Oklahoma City to Harvey Gaston Godsoe and Beryl Godsoe.

Bud served two years in Korea with the National Guard, graduated from Oklahoma State University and was co-owner of Godsoe Special Lines Insurance Brokerage.

He was a longtime member of the Pathfinder's class at the First United Methodist Church in Richardson, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Ann Godsoe.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Paul and Wravan Godsoe Baker and Scott and Andra Godsoe Kunkle; two grandchildren, Claire and Bryan Baker; two sisters, Patsy Jean Brooke and Janie Hand.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Friday at the First United Methodist church, 534 W. Beltline Rd., Richardson, Texas.

Memorials may be made to the Network of Community Ministries, 741 S. Sherman St., Richardson, TX 75081.

Agnes Marie Carter
Shawnee resident Agnes Marie Carter, 93, died Tuesday, March 1, in a local hospital.

She was born April 13, 1911, in Wanette to Oliver and Francis Benton.

She graduated from St. Benedict High School in 1930.

She worked for the county clerks office and Lewis Pott County Abstract office in Shawnee.

She was a member of the St. Benedict Catholic Church, Altar Society and the Prayer Line.

She was married to Kenneth Carter Oct. 3, 1936, in Holdenville. He preceded her in death in 1995.

She also was preceded in death by her parents and five brothers; Anthony, Robert, Clarence, Elbert Joseph and Oliver Jr.; and one sister, Mary Cunningham.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, James and Beverly Carter of Corinth, Texas; one daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Lewis Hullum of Shawnee; one granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Kim and Alan Jones of Corinth, Texas; one sister, Dorothy Buchanan of Shawnee; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

A wake service will be 7 p.m. today at the chapel of Walker Funeral Service.

A Mass of the Christian Burial will be held noon Friday at St. Benedict Catholic Church with the Rev. Maurus Jaeb, O.S.B., officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.

Walker Funeral Service is directing arrangements.

Gladys Bernice Kaskaske
Shawnee resident Gladys Bernice Fixico Kaskaske, 59, died Friday, Feb 25, in Shawnee.

A wake service was held 7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 27, at Schumacher Funeral Home Chapel in Okemah. A service was held 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 28, at Snake Creek Baptist Church No. 2 in Seminole with the Rev. T.J. Fixico and George Mooney officiating. Burial will follow at Snake Creek Cemetery.

Schumacher Funeral Home of Okemah directed arrangments.

Clarence J. McWhirt
Davenport resident Clarence J. McWhirt, 84, died Tuesday, March 1, at his home.

Service will be 2 p.m. Friday at the Rossville Cemetery with the Rev. Johnny Miller officiating.Parks Brothers Funeral Service of Chandler is directing arrnagements.

Robert Eugene Dodson
Seminole resident Robert "Bob" Eugene Dodson, 58, died Wednesday, March 2, at an Okahoma City hospital.

He was born Aug. 31, 1946, in Washington, D.C., to George Henry Dodson and Dorothy Mae (Lewis) Dodson.

On Sept. 4, 1965, he married Linda Sue (Lemmings) Dodson at the Seminole home of his grandparent, C.E. "Charley" and Opal McDaniel.

He lived most of his life in Seminole, moving here in 1960 from Germany where his father was in the U.S. Army.

Dodson worked for his grandparents at McDaniel Casing Pulling from 1966-1977 and was a firefighter for Seminole Fire Department from January 1977 until he retired as captain in January 1999. He served as captain for several years, then interim fire chief. He also was a respiratory therapist since 1986, currently working at Valley View Hospital in Ada. He worked at the old Seminole Hospital and the new Seminole Hospital as well as Mission Hill and Unity North Health Center in Shawnee.

He was a member of the Seminole Jaycees and the Oklahoma Jaycees. He also served on the Seminole Civil Defense and Auxiliary Police Force and as a scuba diver for Seminole County. For the past 34 years he was associated with the Seminole Gospel Singing Association, where he was one of its main organizers.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George Henry and Dorothy Mae Dodson and his grandparents, C.E. "Charley" and Opal McDaniel

Survivors include his wife, Linda Dodson of the home; two daughters and son-in-law, Roberta and Greg Moore of Yukon and Robin McCoy of the home; brother, Tony M. Dodson of Oklahoma; three sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Rosetta and Rex Bird of Oklahoma City, Loretta and Larry Swan of Oklahoma City, and Judy and Harris Thacker of Seminole; four grandsons, Brice Daniel Sims, Dustin McCoy and Sheldon McCoy, all the the home, and Brady Moore of Yukon; one granddaugher, Parker Lynn Moore of Yukon; and other family and friends.

Service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Swearingen Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Steve Cline officiating. Burial will follow at Little Cemetery.

Donations may be made the Seminole Gospel Singing Association, P.O. Box 1358, Seminole, OK 74868.

Ralph Alfred Fowler
Shawnee resident Ralph Alfred Fowler, 66, died Monday, March 21, in Shawnee.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie A. and Ruth A. (Pennick) Fowler.

He is survived by his wife, Lavone Marie Fowler of the home.

Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Calvary Cemetery with the Rev. Maurus Jaeb, O.S.B., officiating.

Walker Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Marie Grundmann
Marie Grundmann left this life to be with her Heavenly Father on March 20, 2005, at her home in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Miss Grundmann was born July 23, 1909, to Henry and Minnie Grundmann in Little, Oklahoma. She graduated from Oklahoma State University. She taught in Lutheran elementary schools in St. Louis, Missouri, for nine years. She then taught for twenty-eight years at Prairie Valley Elementary School in Seminole County where she was devoted to the education and development of her first and second grade students for twenty-eight years. Miss Grundmann was a devout member from childhood of St. John Lutheran Church in Shawnee, Oklahoma, where she served as choir director and adult Sunday school teacher. In 1978 Miss Grundmann moved with her sister Ella to Oklahoma City to be closer to Ella's children and grandchildren, to whom she served as a beloved mother and grandmother. In Oklahoma City Miss Grundmann was a member of Our Lord's Lutheran Church for the last twenty-eight years. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother John Grundmann and sisters Minnie Williams and Louise Cunningham. She is survived by her sisters Ella Dockins and Katherine McNew, both of Oklahoma City; and her brother Henry C. Grundmann of Earlsboro, Oklahoma. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, March 24, 2005 at Our Lord's Lutheran Church, 2900 W. Hefner Rd. OKC, OK, with burial to follow at 2:00 P.M. at Resthaven Cemetery, east of Shawnee, OK.
