Reuel Jamison Kirk
Reuel Jamison "Jamie" Kirk, 76, died peacefully Wednesday, May 11, at home his home in Paradise Valley, Ariz.

He was born in Konawa to Reuel G. and Madge Kirk.

He graduated from Shawnee High School in 1946 and was a graduate of Oklahoma University. He also was a former Marine Corps Staff Sergeant. Retiring from Intel Corporation in 1994, he had a long career in the semiconductor industry.

Kirk was an avid tennis player, golfer, woodworker, reader, traveler and lover of jazz music and movies -- especially the classics. He was active and engaged in life until his final days.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Margaret Ann; four children, Bruce, Brian, Jennifer and Laurie; sister, Mary Walton Teape of Shawnee, brother, Wendell P. Kirk of Birmingham, Ala.; daughter-in-law, Lori, and granddaughters, Sarah and Claire.

Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Barnabas on the desert, 6715 Mockingbird Lane, Paradise Valley, Ariz..

Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower Street, Phoenix, AZ 85014, the St. Barnabas on the Desert Music Program or a charity of choice.

Frances Juanita Beahan
Shawnee resident Frances Juanita Beahan died Friday, May 13, in Shawnee at the age of 81.

She was born Nov. 8, 1923 in Shawnee to Doc and Esther Welsh-Kinnamon. She attended Shawnee schools and had lived in Shawnee 30 years. She was a member of Bible Baptist Church of Shawnee.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and three sisters.

Survivors include three sons, Bill and Linda Beahan of South Caroline, Dennis and Judy Beahan of South Carolina, and Mark Beahan of Shawnee; one daughter, Frances Liberty of Shawnee; five brothers, Bob Kinnamon of Shawnee, Charles "Manie" and Pat Kinnamon of Shawnee, Ted Kinnamon of Hunting Beach, Calif., Jack Kinnamon of Kenefic, Okla., and Bill and Mary Kinnamon of Muskogee; eight grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Service will be 2 p.m. today at Resthaven Funeral Chapel with Father Paul Zahler OSB and Brother Kevin McGuire OSB officiating. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home of Shawnee.

Hazel Rudolph
Former Tecumseh resident Hazel Rudolph, 82, died Tuesday, May 17, in Denver, Colo.

Visitation will be 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, May 22, at Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh with the Rev. Clint Dawkins officiating. Burial will follow at Tecumseh Cemetery.

Other information is pending and will be announced by Cooper Funeral Home.

Jackie Lee Lewis
Chandler resident Jackie Lee Lewis, 58, died Thursday, May 19, at his residence in Chandler.

Service will be 10 a.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church in Chandler with the Rev. Rick Blackwell officiating. Burial will follow at the Ward Grove Cemetery in Foyil at 3 p.m.

Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler is directing arrangements.

Sarah C. Comer
Former Tahlequah resident Sarah C. Comer, 87, died Wednesday, May 18, in Meeker.

She was born Feb. 5, 1918, in Omaha, Neb., to John J. and Lina B. (McCoy) Castles.

Sarah moved to Warr Acres from Omaha as an infant and graduated from Putnam City High School in 1935.

She married Kenneth Comer on June 8, 1940.

Sarah played piano at Woodall Methodist Church in Tahlequah for 40 years.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Kenneth Comer, and two sister, Amy Castles and Mary Stone.

Survivors include her daughter, Oneta Capps and her husband, Jim, of Shawnee; son, John Comer of Tahlequah; grandchildren, Gary Capps of Flower Mound, Texas; Tammy Morris of Juno, Alaska; Kenneth Joel Comer of Norman; Camille Westbrook of San Diego, Calif.; Dawn Gauf of Arizona; Michelle Rowe and Stephanie Miller, both of Oklahoma City; sister-in-law, Louise Thomas of Peggs; 13 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and friends.

Casket bearers are Richard Robins, Arlie Manship, Mark Manship, Joe Weaver, Robert Sevier and Mike Matthews.

Service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Reed-Culver Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Garland Thomas and Brother Frank Haven officiating. Graveside service will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Oklahoma City, with Dr. Sam Matthews officiating. Graveside casket bearers will be Cecil Stone, Jimmy Stone, Lum Roberts, Matt Porter, Kenny Comer and Gary Capps. Services are under the direction of Reed-Culver Funeral Home.

Lealon Roland Lewis
Lealon Roland Lewis, 83, passed away Sunday, May 22, in Shawnee.

He was born June 19, 1921, in Hazel to Thomas Joseph and Mary Lewis.

On Jan. 22, 1939, he married Lola Ann Lester. They celebrated 65 years of marriage in January 2004. From their union were born three children, Ira Lee Lewis, Donald Ray Lewis and Patsy Lewis Poag. His wife, Lola, preceded him in death on Oct. 9, 2004.

Lealon was in the United States Navy during World War II, serving as a gun captain aboard the U.S. Neal A. Scott, a destroyer escort that patrolled in the Atlantic and Mediterranean Oceans. After the war, he and Lola raised their children in Tecumseh, Sulphur and Duncan. Lealon worked in the oilfields in Oklahoma for 21 years as a roughneck, driller, toolpusher and later as drilling superintendent for Perkins Drilling Company, Duncan. He also was part owner of his own drilling company. He especially enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.

After their children were grown, Lealon and Lola returned to Tecumseh in 1963. For a short time, he worked in the oilfield in Venezuala and then returned to Oklahoma and was employed at Tinker Field for 11 years before retiring. He attended the First Assembly of God Church in Tecumseh.

Survivors include three children, Ira Lewis and his wife, Roxanne, of Sun City, Calif., Don Lewis of Shawnee, Patty Lewis Poag and her husband, Leon, of Oklahoma City; brother, Jack Lewis, of Oklahoma City; grandchildren, Joe Don Lewis of Tujunga, Calif., Michelle Graves and her husband, John, of Aliso Viejo, Calif., Katie and Deborah Lewis of Sun City, Donnie Lewis and his wife, Karen, of Shawnee, Kim Lewis Richmond and her husband, Tim, of Shawnee, Steve and Dana Poag and Donna Poag, all of Chickasha; great-grandchildren, Ryan and Chase Lewis of Tujunga, Luis Larios of Shawnee, Matthew and Chris King of Shawnee, Megan Boswell and Lauren Savage of Chickasha, and Trey Richmond of Seminole.

Service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at First Assembly of God Church in Tecumseh. Burial will follow at Tecumseh Cemetery under the direction of Walker Funeral Service.

Sharla Beth "Tish" Coffee
McLoud resident Sharla Beth "Tish" Coffee, 47, died Tuesday, May 24, at an Oklahoma City hospital.

Tish was born April 18, 1958, in Lawton to Ben Coffee and Margaret (Neash) Downs. She was a homemaker and lived in the McLoud-Harrah area all her life.

She is preceded in death by her father, stepfather, Leroy Downs, mother and brother, David Mahtapene.

Survivors include four children, Ben Johnson Riley, Wachie Allen Riley, Sahaunie Nicole Coffee and Hulbutta Kotcha Riley; grandchildren, Erin Jordan Riley, Kyla Renee Robertson and Zachary Allen Riley; brother, Larry Otis Coffee, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and "sisters."

Tribal rites were held Wednesday at sunrise by the Native American Church. Burial was at the Kickapoo Tribal Cemetery.

James K. Kinnamon
McLoud resident James K. Kinnamon, 73, passed away Thursday, June 2, at his home.

Mr. Kinnamon was born June 30, 1931, in Tecumseh to John R. and Anna Kinnamon.

He attended North Rock Creek and Dale Schools.

Mr. Kinnamon worked at Tinker Air Force Base for 27 years. He retired Dec. 31, 1987, as a section unit chief of structural repair.

On Dec. 9, 1950, he married Sue Cox northeast of Shawnee.

Mr. Kinnamon was a former member of the Dale Lions Club and coached summer league baseball at Dale for 16 years. He also was a triple A pitcher for JONCO.

He is preceded in death by his parents, twin grandsons and twin great-granddaughters.

Survivors include his wife, Sue, of the home; four children and their spouses, Debbie and Jimmie Roberts, Jimmy and Debi Kinnamon, all of Shawnee, Vera Hudson and Ron Zabel of McLoud, and Michael and Troylene Kinnamon of Meeker; 10 grandchildren; 20 grandchildren; five brothers and their spouses, R.S. "Bob" and Beulah Kinnamon of Shawnee, Johnny and Gladys Kinnamon of Dale, J.D. and Linda Kinnamon of Dale; four sisters, Wilma Lackey of Shawnee, Anna Mae Enocks of Plano, Texas, Rose Honeycutt of Shawnee, and Betty and Monty Barnett of Tulsa; two brothers-in-law and their wives, J.R. and Rebecca Cox of Oklahoma City, and James and Janice Cox of Shawnee; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Dale Cemetery with the Rev. Larry Sparks officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Walker Funeral Home.

Langston James Stone
Langston James Stone, infant son of James Dean Stone and Brandi Chantel (Copeland) Stone, was born and died Sunday, May 29, at Unity Health Center in Shawnee.

Survivors include his parents, James Dean Stone and Brandi Chantel (Copeland) Stone; sister, Jeanne Breanna; grandparents, Geri Stone of Meeker and Bobby Carol Grammer of Campbellsville, Ky.; aunts and uncles, Kenneth Stone of Meeker, Randee Stone and his wife, Allie, of Dallas, Texas, Deana Davis of Shawnee, Bridgette Copeland of Campbellsville, Bethany Copeland of California; and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Robert Lee Stone; and a cousin, Blake Ryan.

Services will be privately held under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home.

Harold Glen Raper
Konawa resident Harold Glen Raper, 73, died Thursday, June 2, in Ada.

Service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Pam Shirk and the Rev. Charley Henthorn officiating. Burial will follow at Konawa City Cemetery under the direction of Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa.

Elsie Jarvis James
Elsie Jarvis James passed away to be with her family and our Lord on June 24. Elsie was born on a ranch in Seminole County on June 20, 1916, to William "Wm" Jackson Jarvis and Nettie Horsely Jarvis. She was the youngest of 11 children, all whom preceded her in death.

Elsie's family later moved to Shawnee, where she attended school. She graduated high school at age 16 and attended Oklahoma A&M, Oklahoma Women's College, Oklahoma Baptist University and then graduated with a teaching certificate from The University of Oklahoma.

She was a licensed real estate and insurance broker and taught first grade at Harjo Elementary and Bethel Schools for 14 years. She was always proud that one of her first-grade students later became one of the original Mercury 7 Astronauts, Gordon Cooper.

Elsie married Harry Corbut James on Dec. 24, 1940. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, and a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority. She and Harry spent many of their final years together researching their family history, which was a source of pride for them both.

She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings, two sons, Harry C. James Jr. and William "Bill" J. James, and a granddaughter, Margaret Maxine James.

She is survived by her two granddaughters and their spouses, Rebecca and Ronnie Carico of McLoud and Mickie and Michael Smith of Oklahoma City; grandson Harry R. "Bob" James of Shawnee, six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations may be made to Golden Rule Nursing Home in Shawnee.

Service will be 2 p.m. Monday at the Walker Funeral Service Chapel in Shawnee. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Shawnee.
