Smith

Judy Ellis Smith, 42, died Nov. 8, 2003 at Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City of complications due to diabetes. Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 14 at Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel with Rev. Joe Elmore and Larry Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Tuscaloosa Memorial Park.

Born in Tuscaloosa, Ala. on May 18, 1961, she was a graduate of Tuscaloosa High School. Following graduation, she received training in Cosmetology at Shelton State and worked in that field for a short time. On July 16, 1983 she married Timothy Shelton Smith. Soon after their marriage they moved to Del Rio, Texas for his flight training with the U.S. Air Force. His career took them to stations at Charleston AFB, S. C., Hickman AFB, Hawaii, Scott AFB, Ill., McGuire AFB, N.J., Fairchild AFB, Wash. and Altus AFB. A devoted wife and mother, she supported her family during their many moves, overseas deployments, and assignments.

She was preceded in death by her father, William Jordan Ellis; her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Giles Ellis and Mr. and Mrs. Milton Moss.

She is survived by her husband, Lt. Col. Timothy S. Smith; a daughter, Rio Ellis Smith of Altus AFB; her mother, Jean Moss Ellis; a sister, Jane Ellis; in-laws, Dr. and Mrs. Billy S. Smith, all of Tuscaloosa; brother-in-law Dr. Gregory Smith (Becky); nephews Ben, Luke and Matt Smith of Marietta, Ga. and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.

Pallbearers will be Dan Gant, Chris Hollyhand, Mike Moss, Tracy Moss, Harry Renfroe, Dr. Gregory Smith, Matthew Smith and Moe Smith.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the National Kidney Foundation (NKF), the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), or the charity of your choice.

Gaddie

A.D. "Pat" Gaddie, 81, died Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2003 at his home in Graham, Texas. Funeral services are scheduled Friday, Nov. 14, 2003 at 10 a.m. in the Morrison Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend James C. Hill, pastor of First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at 4 p.m. Friday in Warren Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

Gaddie was born Mar. 24, 1922 in Bucklin, Mo. to the late Ben Franklin and Betty (Hayes) Gaddie. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army serving during World War II as a liaison pilot for the 228th field artillery battalion in Europe and he also served in the Korean War.

He married Nadine Peevey Dec. 21, 1945 in Tulsa. Gaddie moved to Graham in 1956 from Burkburnett, Texas. He was a retired pilot for Atlantic Richfield. He was a member of the Lake Country RV Club, Young County Masonic Lodge #485, The First Baptist Church and the YAHA Sunday School Class.

Survivors include his wife, Nadine Gaddie of Graham; two daughters, Rhonda Rothell and husband Harvey of Big Spring and Regina Scroggins and husband James of the Colony; son, Richard Gaddie and wife Janice of Haslet; brother, Jim Gaddie and wife Connie of Kingman, Ariz.; four grandchildren, Lane Rothell, Lisa Jenkins, Michaela and Eric Scroggins; three great-grandchildren, Alisa and Cameron Rothell and Brooklyn Jenkins.

Memorials may be made to Warren Cemetery Association-- Eris Hendricks, 15402 S. CR 213, Blair, OK 73526; American Cancer Society or The First Baptist Church, 623 Third Street, Graham, Texas 76450.

Willis

Ima Jean Willis, 69, of Altus, died Tursday, Nov. 11, 2003 at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Funeral Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 14, 2003 in the Memorial Chapel at the Kincannon Funeral Home with Pastor Robert Green and Pastor B.L. Alexander officiating. Interment will follow at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home.

Willis was born Mar. 12, 1934 in Caddygap, Ark. to Elmer and Ophelia Hill. She married Ira Willis in Altus in 1953. To this union, 12 children were born. She worked tirelessly as a homemaker and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed reading, listening to gospel music and singing in the church choir. She was a member of the First Church of God In Christ in Altus where she served on the Usher Board and the Mother's Board for the last several years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Ira; three sons and two daughters, all infants; two sisters, Edna Hill and Claudie Hill and three brothers, L.C. Hill, Fred Hill and J.W. Hill.

She is survived by four sons, Ronal Willis and Ira Willis Jr., both of Altus, Kenneth Willis and Allen Willis, both of San Diego; three daughters, Sheila Young and husband Gene of Altus, Debra Willis of Altus and Lenora Motten and husband Clyde of San Diego; seventeen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Smith

Netherton

John D. Netherton, 82, of Ada, formerly of Altus, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 6, 2003. Services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 9, 2003 at Central Church of Christ, with minister Bud Rose officiating.

Honorary Bearers were Frank Bates, James Sherrell, Leonard Briley, Toby Ross, Don Woods, Jim Arnold, Frank Jared and Ronnie Johns. Committal Service was held Monday, Nov. 10 at Denison Cemetery in Idabel.

Netherton was born July 22, 1921 in Altus to Jasper Netherton and Maudie Jones Netherton. He attended grade school and high school in Warren. He received a bachelor's degree from Oklahoma State University in 1951 and a master's degree in 1953.

He was a Special Agent in Agronomy with the Oklahoma Cooperative Extension Service with Oklahoma State University, serving in Southwest Oklahoma for 30 years.

He served in Choctaw, Latimer, McCurtain, Pushmataha and Pontotoc Counties. He taught pecan grafting all over the state of Oklahoma. He retired in 1984.

He was also a farmer/rancher.

Netherton married Earnestine Bagwell, who preceded him in death in 1964. He later married Charlene Bozarth in 1965. He was a member of Central Church of Christ.

He enjoyed golfing, tennis, hunting and fishing. He was active with the 4-H programs in McCurtain County for many years. He werved in the U.S. Army Air Corps from Aug. 28, 1944 until Jul. 23, 1946. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Julie, in 1985. He is survived by his wife, Charlene Netherton, of the home; three daughters, Mary Jane Marlow of Las Vegas, Nev., Rita and Stephen Ford of Edmond and Renee and Jack Neeld of Pooleville; one son, John C. and Lauren Netherton of Ada; grandchildren, Matt, Clinton and Crystal Marlow of Las Vegas, Nev., Stephanie Ford of College Station, Charley Ford of Edmond, Jackie and Julie Neeld of Pooleville and Jaley, Carley and Cadey Netherton of Ada.

Johnson

Graveside service for Lawrence LaRue Johnson, 57, of Altus will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2003 at Altus City Cemetery in Altus.

Johnson died Thursday, Nov. 6, 2003 at a Lawton hospital.

Arrangements are under the direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home.

Lawrence was born Sept. 3, 1946 in Carthage, Miss. to Horace Glynn Johnson Sr. and Emma Chamblee Johnson.

He joined the United States Marine Corp in March of 1964 in Jackson, Miss. He served in the Vietnam War and received several medals including the Good Conduct Medal with six stars, Navy Commendation, Vietnamese Service Medal, Army Presidential Unit Ribbon, Vietnamese Campaign Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon with Star, Meritorious Unit Citation, National Defense Service Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry with Palm and Gold Frame, and the Purple Heart Medal. He retired from the military in 1985 in Jacksonville, N.C.

He is survived by one brother, Horace Glynn Johnson, Jr., of Altus; three nieces, Patricia Johnson, of Norman, Tammy Somers of California, and Shirley Rosenthal of California.

He is preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Martha Sloan and one son, Christopher Johnson.

Kouri

Mary Izora Kathleen Kouri was born on Jun. 13, 1938 at Whitebread to John and Ida (Bogle) Schoolcraft. She departed this life on Saturday, Nov. 8, 2003 at Hobart at the age of 65. She had lived in Greer county since 1960. She had worked in health care for many years at the local hospital and nursing home.

Kouri was married to George Kouri in Wellington, Texas on Jan. 23, 1975.

Funeral Services will be held at Greer Funeral Chapel in Granite. Joel Bogle will officiate. Greer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Kouri was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters; two brothers; a daughter, Zenie Adams and her husband, George Kouri.

She is survived by two sons, Paul Adams and his wife Pat of Lone Wolf and Phillip Adams of Lexington; brothers, Ace Schoolcraft of Granite, Victor Schoolcraft of Mangum, Lawrence Schoolcraft of Lone Wolf, Butch Schoolcraft of Willow, Issac Schoolcraft of Yukon, James Schoolcraft of Mukwonago, Wis. and John Schoolcraft of Ore.; sisters, Sissy Galloway of Lone Wolf and Valena Raines of Granite.

Cochran

Linda Sharlene Cochran, 57, of Gould died Thursday, Nov. 6, 2003, at Harmon Memorial Hospital in Hollis.

Cochran was born May 26, 1946, in Hollis to Boyd and Billie (Miller) Parr. She graduated from Hollis High School in 1963 and attended Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee. Linda Parr and Harry Cochran were united in marriage Oct. 9, 1964, in Hollis.

She worked as a legal secretary for Cummins Law Office in Hollis for many years. Cochran enjoyed handiwork, sewing, scrapbooking, computer, photography, and most of all, being with her family. She was always very active in all her daughters' activities. She was a member of 1971 Sorosis Club, 4H Leader and Honorary Leader, a member of both the Harmon County Fair Board and Friends of the Library. She was an active member of Corinth Baptist Church where she was the director of meals for Wednesday night children's services. She loved feeding the children and they loved her.

Cochran is survived by her husband, Harry Cochran, of the home in Gould; three daughters, Carin Lyn Cochran of Hays, Kan., Jill Blinda Henderson and her husband, George, of Las Vegas, Nev. and Beth Sharlene Cochran of Edmond; her aunts, Teddie Hamrick of Altus, Glenn Wallin and her husband, Ray of Ephrata, Wash. and Lou Nell Barnes of Magnolia, Ark. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Nikayla and Jamal Henderson.

Funeral Services for Linda Cochran will be held 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 10, at the Corinth Baptist Church south of Gould with Reverend Mark Farr officiating. Interment will follow at Gould Cemetery under the direction of Patterson Greer Funeral Home in Hollis.

In Lieu of flowers, family requests memorial donations be made to the college campus ministry directed by her daughter, Carin Cochran, Christian Challlenge, c/o Corinth Baptist Church, Rt. 1, Eldorado, OK.

Mathews

Shirley Beatrice Mathews went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, Nov. 6, 2003 at the age of 90. She was born Apr. 22, 1913 in McComb. Her parents were Ezra and Jenny Holford. Mathews moved to Mangum as a child and attended Mangum schools. She and Don W. Mathews were married Feb. 9, 1932 in Elk City. They resided in Carter for a brief period before moving to Mangum in 1933. They have resided in Mangum for the past 70 years.

Mathews was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Ezra Holford and Wales Holford.

She is survived by her husband, Don of the home; two children, Harley Mathews of Mangum and Janis Bell of Altus; two grandchildren, Jim Kerbo and Gayla Turner of Mangum; three grandchildren, Devin Kerbo, Kassi Thompson and Taylor Thompson, all of Mangum.

Mathews was a Homemaker for the most part of her life. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Mangum.

Funeral Services for Mathews will be Sunday, Nov. 9 at 2:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery with Rev. J.V. Lobaugh and Rev. Don Ross officiating. Arrangements are with Stewart Funeral Service in Mangum.
