Dottie was born Feb. 24, 1924, in Ottumwa, Iowa, to Alfred and Alice Goodwin.

She attended Ottumwa High School, then came to Oklahoma in 1948, when her family brought Vari-Color Duplicator Company to Shawnee.

Dottie attended the University of Colorado for a short time, then after marrying Edward B. Antosh June 7, 1953, she attended the University of Oklahoma for three years, majoring in Interior Design.

As a gifted interior decorator, she completely redesigned and decorated her parents' Broadway Street home in Shawnee, as well as the original First State Bank building downtown and her son Steve's offices in Virginia and in Guatemala. She also designed and built her family's Shawnee residence at 1524 N. Oklahoma Ave., with many creative ideas that were featured in several interior decorating articles.

Creativity and fun characterized all that Dottie did. She was a wonderful homemaker and the best mom in the world who was utterly dedicated to her children. She got involved in all their activities, from being den mother for Jim and Steve's Cub Scout Packs to leading Judy's Camp Fire group to being an active band parent during all of their many years in the Shawnee High School band. For four years, she also played piano for a Bible Study Fellowship group in Norman. She taught countless children and adults how to water ski, both at Camp Fire camp and while taking friends out in the family's boat.

Dottie was also a licensed twin-engine pilot and loved to fly around the country. She was quite involved in politics and was the Pott. County Republican Women president several times. Dottie loved the Lord, and taught children's Sunday School and led the Bethel Bible Series for many years at St. Paul's Methodist Church. She later became an active member of Immanuel Baptist Church and had a passion for seeing people come to know Christ.

For the past 12 years Dottie has lived in northern Virginia, most recently living five years with Steve and his family in Fairfax, Va.

Also surviving her are one brother, Alfred J. Goodwin of Independence, Mo.; and six grandchildren, David Antosh and wife, Ashley of Stanford, Calif., Bob Antosh of Shawnee, Peter Antosh of Austin, Texas, Jonathan, Catherine, and Lucas Antosh of Fairfax, Va.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Immanuel Baptist Church, 1101 E. Main St., Shawnee, with the Rev. Todd Fisher officiating. Immediately after the service the family will be receiving guests, followed by a short graveside memorial at Resthaven Memorial Cemetery where Dottie will be laid to rest.

They were married Oct. 19, 1930, in Galva. The couple moved to Oklahoma in 1932. In 1947 they opened the second Dairy Queen in the state; one of the first 15 in the United States. While working at the Dairy Queen she was instrumental in starting the Alpha Mothers Club and was a charter member of the Chrysantheum Garden Club. She was an active member of Chapter CI of P.E.O, St. Pauls Methodist Church; various bridge groups; and other civic organizations. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother and son-in-law. These are the facts of her life: The pulse of her life were her family and friends. Her hospitality is legend. She nourished all who came to know her with either her famous vanilla wafer pudding or her quiet strength and sense of humor. Her creativity extended from her exquisite handwork to her garden and her prized mystery lillies. Her love of life extended to bird watching and doll collecting. She loved her coffee and prided herself on never drinking water; perhaps that is why she lived to be 100. All who knew her benefited from her long, vigorous life. We had her longer than most.
