Choctaw resident Billy Gene Yousey, 68, died Saturday, Feb. 5, in Midwest City.

Graveside service will be 2 p.m. today at Dale Cemetery.

Smith-Parks Funeral Service of Harrah is directing arrangements.

Willie E. Smith-Blackwood
Konawa resident Willie E. Smith-Blackwood, 91, died Sunday, Feb. 6, in Ada.

Service will be 2 p.m. today at Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Chapel with Pam Shirk officiating. Burial will be at Vamoosa Cemetery.

Alberta Greenwood
Shawnee resident Alberta "Bert" Greenwood, 83, died Thursday, Feb. 3 in Shawnee.

She was born Feb. 22, 1921, to Willie and Nora (Crawford) Gilmore.

She lived in Wichita, Kan., for ten years and had lived in Shawnee for the past 30 years.

She was a housekeeper.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Willie Gilmore and Gerlean Hill; four brothers, Jack, Fred, Akers and Louis Gilmore.

Survivors include numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Graveside service will be 11 a.m. today at Earlsboro Cemetery.

Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh is directing arrangements.

Kylie Grace Standlee
Kylie Grace Standlee, infant daughter of Shawnee residents Denay Dale Jordon and Mark Standlee, died Tuesday, Feb. 6, in an Oklahoma City hospital.

Service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Walker Funeral Service Chapel.

Further information is pending from Walker Funeral Service, Shawnee.

Mildred Alice (Elwell) Moore
Glenpool resident Mildred Alice (Elwell) Moore, 89, died Monday, Feb. 5, at Glenpool Health Care Center.

She was born Aug. 28, 1917, in Stillwater to Rex Elwell and Beulah (Miller) Elwell.

Mildred was very talented at cooking, canning her own food, and making beautiful quilts. She loved crocheting, as well as tatting, knitting and sewing.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Stanley Moore; two brothers and one sister.

Survivors included one son and wife, Everett and Virginia Potter of Shawnee; one daughter and husband, Betty and John Farrar of Bixby; four grandchildren, Dwight Farrar and Susie of Kiefer, Debria and Clay Perry of Beggs, LaNora and Mike Bean of Glenpool, and Keith Farrar of Tulsa; eight great-grandchildren, Lora and Brian Dowler of Bixby, Aaron and Tana Perry of Broken Arrow, Crystal and Scott Kraftchick of Orlando, Fla., Stephanie and Tim Dodge of Wichita, Kan., Justin Bean of Tulsa, Adam and Daniel Farrar of Bixby, and Ryan Perry of Beggs; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Resthaven Memorial Park. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Park.

Kathy Turnpaugh
Prague resident Kathy Turnpaugh, 43, died Sunday, Feb. 4, in Prague.

She was born Jan. 17, 1964, in Norman to Ted C. and Carolyn June (Sullivan) Geyer. She grew up in Tribbey and had lived in Wanette, Asher, and South Fork, Colo. She had lived in Prague for the past six years.

She attended Wanette High School.

She was married in 1983 to Michael Scott Turnpaugh in Wanette. He preceded her in death on April 29, 2001.

She was a farmer and had driven a mining truck. She raised two children by herself; they were the focal point of her life. She enjoyed the outdoors, and hunting.

She also was preceded in death by her mother, Carol Lee; step-father, George Lee; grandfather, Travis Sullivan and sister, Debbie Gregg.

Survivors include her daughter, Sarah Turnpaugh of the home; son, Michael Turnpaugh of the home; friend, Larry Belcher; father, Ted C. Geyer of Wanette; sister and brother-in-Law, Donna and Mickey Akerman of Konawa; brother, Ted A. Geyer of Lexington; grandmother, Ruby Sullivan of Norman; mother-in-law, Eva Rader of Noble; brother-in-law, Kevin Tunrpaugh and his wife, Lisa, of Blanchard; sister-in-law, Angie Privett of Noble; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Service will be 1 p.m. Friday at Cooper Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Jim Adams officiating. Burial will be at Garden Grove Cemetery.

Josie Kate Watkins
Josie Kate Watkins, 3 month old daughter of Edmond residents Toby and Sara (Salter) Watkins, died Tuesday, Feb. 6, at an Edmond hospital of a sudden illness.

Visitation will be noon until close today at Matthews Funeral Home, 601 S. Kelley Avenue, Edmond.

Viewing at the church will be 10 a.m. Friday until service time.

Service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Quail Springs Church of Christ, 14401 N. May Avenue, Oklahoma City.

Walker Funeral Service of Shawnee is directing arrangements and will announce further information.

Bobby June Graddy
Milfay resident Bobby June Graddy, 72, died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2008, in Milfay.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to noon today.

Service will be 2 p.m. today at Parks Brothers funeral Service Chapel, Stroud.

Service is under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service, Stroud.

Leah Bird
McLoud resident Leah (Horton) Bird, 79, died Tuesday, Feb. 8.

Service will be 10 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church in McLoud. Burial will follow at Dale Cemetery.

Other information is pending with Smith-Parks Funeral Service.

Elbert Middleton (Bert) Lane
Shawnee resident Elbert Middleton (Bert) Lane, 80, died Tuesday, Feb. 6, at a local hospital.

Bert was born March 2, 1926, in Shawnee to Josiah M. and Ester E. Lane.

He graduated from Shawnee High School and attended Oklahoma Baptist University.

When World War II broke out, he quit school at the age of 17 and joined the U.S. Navy. He served on the U.S.S. Porter. Following his service he came home and finish school.

On Aug. 1, 1951, he married Ina Anderson. She preceded him in death in 1994. On Jan. 13, 2004, he married Wanda (Hess) Blackstone.

Bert worked for Boeing and Douglas Aircraft. He was a mason and a member of Liberty Baptist Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents, a sister, a brother, and his first wife.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda of the home; step-daughters, LuWana Lowe, Pamala Riggin and June Penton; niece, Bettie Hall; nephew, Dick Buzzard; several other nieces and nephews; great-nephews and nieces, Mike Buzzard of McLoud, Guy Buzzard of Texas, Kay Rials of Newalla, Suzanne Frits of Stillwater, and Milhea Hall of Cottrill, Wash.

Service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Liberty Baptist church with Bill Matthews officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Walker Funeral Service.

Freda LaNan Mize
Longtime Shawnee resident Freda LaNan Mize, 70, died Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2007. She was surrounded by her loved ones when she took her journey back to God.

Freda was born Aug. 9, 1936, in Sulphur, Okla., to Cecil and Gertie Stephens.

On August 30, 1973, she married Edward Mize.

Freda loved her family. She was a kind and generous person and was a nurse for more than 40 years. She had cared for others all her life. Freda was dearly loved by her family and will be missed tremendously.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Ronny Wyrick; one brother, De Loyd Stephens; one sister, Jayne McGarry; and one brother-in-law, Hilton Phillips.

Freda is survived by her husband, Edward Mize; two sons, Ricky Wyrick of Bethel, Jerry Wyrick of Houston, Texas; her sister, Donnie Phillips of Idabel; four grandchildren, Jennifer Wyrick who resided with her; J. Don Wyrick of Ada, Jerrita Wyrick of Houston and Travis Wyrick of Bethel; two nieces, Terri Phillips and Kristi Phillips of Dallas; one nephew, Brad Phillips of Idabel; two step-daughters, Terri Mize of Fort Worth, Texas, and Sherri Graham of Fort Myers, Fla.

Service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel with Delbert Akin officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park in Shawnee under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home.

Marcia Maxine Brewer
Longtime Shawnee resident Marcia Maxine Brewer died Wednesday, Feb. 7, at the age of 93.

She was born to Otis P. Stamphill and Ruth M. (Michael) on Jan. 15, 1914, in Caney, Okla.

On Jan. 30, 1932, she married Floyd Virgil Brewer.

She was a Rosie the Riveter during World War II and worked at Tinker Air Force Base as an inventory clerk until her retirement. Maxine enjoyed spending time with her family and bowling.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Floyd Brewer Sr.; four sisters; two sons, Floyd Brewer Jr. and Gary Arthur Brewer; two daughters, Loretta Faye Nixon and Elizabeth Jean Holland; two granddaughters, Debra Fay Pooler and Tracy Lynn Johnson.

"Nonny", as she was known to her family, is survived by her grandchildren, Marcia Cowan and husband, Johnny, Dayle Nixon, Gayle Riley and husband, Marvin, David Nixon, Chuck Day and wife, Connie, and Michael Brewer; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Graveside service will be 1 p.m. today at Resthaven Memorial Park.
