Juanita Ownsbey
Oakhurst, N.J., resident Juanita Ownsbey, 73, died Sunday, Feb. 18, at St. Barnabas Hospice at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch.

She was a graduate of Atoka High School in Oklahoma. Ms. Ownsbey worked for Chrisman-Sawyer Bank and most recently Bank of Independence, until her retirement. She also worked part-time at The Whistle Stop in Asher, where everyone remembers her huge smile and ornery sense of humor. Her favorite role however was that of Granny.

She loved nothing in this world more than playing with her beloved great-granddaughter, Chloe. Born in Upshur County, Texas, she was a long time resident of Asher, before moving to Oakhurst, N.J., to live with her granddaughter, Sheri Anderson.

In addition to Ms. Anderson, she is survived by her daughter, Jeannie Ownsbey of Independence, Mo.; three additional grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Services will be held 10 a.m. at Kolb Cemetery in Spencer, Okla., under the direction of Damiano Funeral Home, Long Branch.

Geraldine J. Buoy
Shawnee resident Geraldine J. Buoy, 79, went to be with the Lord Sunday, March 4.

She was born June 6, 1927, to Frank and Virginia (Swain) Hoover in Shawnee.

On Dec. 7, 1973, she married William (Bill) E. Buoy. They enjoyed many wonderful years of marriage.

She worked as a secretary for the Shawnee Police Department for many years, retiring in the late 1970s. She enjoyed playing bridge, traveling, and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Virginia; son, Jim H. Bugg; sister, Carolyn Vandegrift; and brother, Paul Hoover.

Geraldine leaves many loving memories with her family, husband, William (Bill) Buoy; stepchildren, William Stephen Buoy, David Buoy and wife, Rita, both of Meeker, Steve and Lisa Clifton, David and Regina Simpson, both of Shawnee; step-grandchildren, Michael and Amy Buoy, Tim and Misty Scott, Matthew and Carmencia Buoy, L.E. and Renee Buoy, Anthony Buoy, Parker Buoy and Wesley Buoy, all of Meeker, Jason and Amy Buoy of McKinney, Texas, Blake, Brooke, and Benjamin Simpson, Levi and Garrett Clifton, all of Shawnee; one nephew, four nieces, four stepgreat-grandchildren and several cousins.

Graveside service to celebrate her life will be 2 p.m. today at Resthaven Memorial Park with Pastor Joe Jones officiating.

Barbara J. Sherrill
Tecumseh resident Barbara J. Sherrill, 60, died Monday, in Midwest City. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Thursday at the Evangelistic Center Church with the Rev. Mark McIntosh and the Rev. Larry Sparks officiating. Burial will follow in Tecumseh Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home, Tecumseh.

Marion O. Donaldson
Stroud resident Marion O. Donaldson, 69, died Saturday, March 3, in Stroud.

Visitation will be 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at Paks Brothers Funeral Services in Stroud.

Service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at 504 N. 8th Ave., Stroud, with the Rev. Burl Mackey officiating.

Arrangments under the direction of Park Brothers Funeral Service, Stroud.

Eugene Booth Berry
Former Shawnee resident Eugene Booth Pee Wee Berry, 73, died Thursday, March 1, at his home in Oak Grove, Mo.

Memorial service was held 2 p.m. Monday at the Ralph O. Jones Chapel with his brother Jerry Berry officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to Eugene Pee Wee Berry Scholarship Fund.

Arrangements are under the direction of Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. 2nd street, Odessa, MO., 64076.

Denzellmay Gensmer
Stroud resident Denzellmay Gensmer, 55, died Monday, Mar. 5, in Stroud.

Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the United Pentecostal Church of Stroud with Greg Jones officiating. Arrangements under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Services of Stroud.

Nella Pauline Novack
Stroud resident Nella Pauline Novack, 81, died Saturday, March 5.

Memorial service will be 4 p.m. today at New Covenant Church in Stroud with the Rev. Jerry Murphin officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler.

Rickie R. Vincent
Shawnee resident Rickie R. Vincent, 25, died Monday, Mar. 5, at an Oklahoma City Hospital.

He as born June 10, 1981, to Randy and Mary Diane (Hendershot) Vincent in Shawnee.

He attended Shawnee High School and graduated from East Central University.

On May 20, 2006, he married Elizabeth Langwell.

He worked as a Contracting Specialist at Tinker Air Force Base.

He was a member of the Shawnee Christian Church, and Bowfish USA. He was an avid outdoorsman with a passion for bowfishing and hunting.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ed and Mary Vincent.

Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Vincent of the home; parents, Randy and Diane Vincent of Shawnee; sister, Schyla Howe and her husband, Kevin of Moore; grandparents, Ed and Mary Lou Hendershot of Dale; aunts and uncles, Rick and Roxane Vincent of Shawnee, Vicki and Robert Files of Stigler, Tracy and Tommy Nicholson of Edmond, Kelly and Mark Elliston of North Carolina; cousins, Courtney, Ben, and Harley Goliwas, Jake Vincent, Alex Meador, Shelby and Brandon Nicholson, Luke and Logan Elliston.

Viewing will be at Walker Funeral Home from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday, and 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Thursday. There will be a closed casket service.

Service will be 2 p.m. Thursday outside of the Shawnee Home Builders Cabin with John Mayhue officiating. Burial will follow at the Dale Cemetery.

A fund has been set up at Arvest Bank in the name of Rickie Vincent for friends and family wishing to make a more lasting donation in lieu of flowers.

Harold John Wilson
Norman resident Harold John "Bud" Wilson, 77, passed away Tuesday, March 6.

He was born Oct. 6, 1929 in Amarillo, Texas to James Monroe and Matilda Pearl (Lofgren) Wilson.

Bud worked construction as a bricklayer. He liked fishing, hunting, watching auto racing and was an avid reader. He also enjoyed bird watching and would build bird houses from his woodworking shop. However, he especially enjoyed spending time with his loved ones. He was a loving companion, father, grandfather and friend who will be greatly missed.

Bud was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Howard, Henry, Harvey and Horace; sister, Helen; and his wife of 20 years, Willa.

He leaves wonderful memories with his very special companion, Virginia Dingler; his daughters, Betty J. Norton, and Deborah K. Bourbonnais and husband Larry; grandchildren, Heather R. Taron, Stephen R. Taron and wife Brooke, Jason Wilson Bourbonnais, Melissa K. Bourbonnais; great-granddaughter, Addison Taron; many nieces, nephews, friends and Virginia's children, Greg White and wife Danita, and Cheryl Mathis and husband Gary; and her grandson, Michael Rountree.

A memorial graveside service to celebrate Bud's life will be 2 p.m. Friday at Hopewell (Bethel) Cemetery on Hardesty Road, across from Bethel United Methodist Church in Shawnee, OK. A memorial celebration will follow the graveside service at the Homebuilder Association Cabin at Shawnee Lake. The family encourages all of Bud's family, friends and co-workers to join the family as they celebrate his life.

Seth Patterson Jr.
Shawnee resident Seth Patterson Jr., 59, died Monday, March 5, at his residence.

He was born December 23, 1947, in Dallas, Texas to Seth Patterson Sr. and Dorothy (Carrol).

He worked as a welder.

Preceding him death were his parents, wife, and one daughter, Jennilu Patterson.

Survivors include three children, Stacy Patterson and wife Fouzie of Shawnee, Amanda Patterson of Grapevine, Texas, Brandy Patterson of Grapevine, Texas; three grandchildren: Summer, Nicholas, and Dalton; one great-grandchild, Scottland; one brother, Richard Patterson of Dallas, Texas.

The cremation is being handled by Walker Funeral Service. No services are scheduled at this time.

Mary Anna Sturgis (nee Stickles)
Chandler Nursing Center resident Mary Anna Sturgis (nee Stickles), 79, died Wednesday, March 7.

She was born October 13, 1927, in Daviess County Indiana to Sherman C and Dewey (Grubbs) Stickles.

She was a 1945 graduate of Arsenal Technical High School and of Central Business College in Indianapolis. With her beloved husband of 53 years, Charles M. Sturgis, who died in 2001, she lived for many, many years, near Washington High School campus. She was a homemaker and an active volunteer, serving especially the Indianapolis Public School #50 (Hawthorne School) Parent-Teacher Assn., as President, and Fairfax Christian Church of Indianapolis in the choir, as an accompanist, and with the Benevolence Committee. Mary was known for her sewing and crafting, and artistically crocheted "Gramma Blankies". She lived in retirement in Carol Stream, Ill., and then at the Chandler Nursing Center.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Charles M. Sturgis, and one grandchild.

Survivors include her sister, Wilma S. Goode of Bedford, Ind. and Ada S. Shamblin of Chandler; daughters, Charlene McElhiney of Chandler and Bonita (Kenneth) Lamb of Brandon, Miss; grandchild, David McElhiney of Chicago, Ill., Daniel McElhiney of Elgin, Ill., Jeffrey (Elizabeth) McElhiney of Urbana, Ill., and Christina (Garret) Salassi of Clinton, Miss.; great-grandchildren, Rachel, Logan, and Kendall Salassi of Clinton, Miss.; nieces and nephews, Carol (Carl) Herndon of Chandler, Ruth (Juan) Medina of Logan, Ala., James Goode of Crane, Ind., Sharon Thompson of Crane, Ind., Patty (Timothy) Rocco of Bedford, Ind.

Service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Parks Brothers Chapel in Chandler.

John C. Reynolds
Former Ardmore resident John C. Reynolds, 80, died Tuesday, March 6, in Ardmore.

Visitation will be 8 a.m.-8 p.m. Friday.

Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Saturday with Dr. Ed Fox officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Gaskill Funeral Home.

James Monroe Barnett
Oklahoma City resident James Monroe Barnett, 84, died Monday, March 7, in Oklahoma City.

Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at New Hope Cemetery in Meeker with the Rev. Laddy Adams officiating under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.

Bill Riffe
Tecumseh resident Bill Riffe, 78, died Friday, March 7, in Shawnee.

Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Oaklawn Cemetery in Sulphur.

Other information is pending with Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
