Sue Nickel
Sue Nickel, 67, died Monday, March 7, in Arlington, Texas.

She was born Aug. 17, 1937, in Tecumseh to Beatrice and Louie Kieffer.

She was a homemaker and a member of the VFW Post 8661 Auxiliary.

Survivors include her husband, Dudley Nickel of Arlington, Texas; sons, Wayne Miles Jr., of Arkansas, Kenneth Leon Blain of Hurst, Texas, and Dudley Nickel Jr., of Louisiana; daughters, Cathy Sue Kirby of Kennedale, Texas, Sonja Miller of Arlington and Janine Krajca of Coppell, Texas; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brothers, Clifford Kieffer, Donnie Kieffer and Kenneth Kieffer, all of Oklahoma.

Prayer service will be 7 p.m. Thursday at Arlington Funeral Home, followed by visitation.

Service will be 10 a.m. Friday at St. Matthew Catholic Church. Burial will be at Moore Memorial Gardens in Arlington.

Jean Webb
Meeker resident Jean Webb, 72, died Friday, Feb. 18, in Meeker.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Christian Church in Chandler with the Rev. Fred Ryder officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler.

George Rayfield
Tecumseh resident George Rayfield, 83, died Sunday, March 6, in Shawnee.

He was born May 14, 1921, in Davis to Bill and Martha (Denton) Rayfield.

He attended school in Davis. He was reared in Davis and had lived in Tecumseh for the past 64 years.

In September 1940, Rayfield married Maxine Burch in Shawnee.

He worked at Shawnee Milling Company for 46 years and also was a cattleman.

He was preceded in death by one son, John Richard Rayfield, and one daughter, Joyce Sue Rayfield.

Survivors include his wife, Maxine Rayfield, of the home; son and daughter-in-law, George W. and Judy Rayfield of Richardson, Texas; and numerous other relatives.

Service will be 10 a.m. today at Cooper Funeral Chapel of Tecumseh with the Rev. Will Bentley officiating. Burial will be at the Tecumseh Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.

Johnie Lois Adams
Former Shawnee resident Johnie Lois Adams, 96, died Sunday, March 6, in Fort Smith Ark.

She was born March 5, 1909, in Fluvana, Texas, to Mike Spears and Elsie Turkett.

She attended Fredrich High School and the Oklahoma College for Women. She was a vocational home economics teacher.

On June 9, 1935, she married Otis S. Adams in Oklahoma City. He preceded her in death Jan. 17, 1995.

She moved to Shawnee in 1969. She was a Sunday school and BTU teacher. She also lived and taught school for six years in Ethiopia, Africa.

She also was preceded in death by her daughter, Mikela Grider and two grandsons, David Seth Adams and Michael Steele Adams.

Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, O.S. Adams Jr. and Cathy of Fort Smith, Ark.; son-in-law, Rex Grider of Shawnee; four grandchildren, Lisa Grider White of Muskogee, Rex Lee Grider Jr. of Fort Smith, Ark., and Cassandra Adams of Fort Smith Ark.; three great grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Mikela Adams Grider Memorial Scholarship Fund at Oklahoma Baptist University.

Graveside service will be 11 a.m. today at Resthaven Memorial Park with Dr. Bob Searl officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Walker Funeral Service of Shawnee.

John C. Reynolds
Former Shawnee resident John C. Reynolds, currently of Ardmore, died Tuesday, March 6, in Ardmore at the age of 80.

He was born April 5, 1926, in Vamoosa, Okla., to Benjamin and Ora (White) Reynolds.

John was married to Jean (Lincicome) Reynolds for 43 years before she went to be with the Lord in August 1992.

He was in the U.S. Navy and then worked at Tinker Air Force Base in the civil service until he retired at the age of 55.

Proceding him in death were his wife and his parents.

Survivors include two children and their spouses, Jenny and Howard Bryson of Ardmore and Jimmy and Glenna Reynolds of Amarillo, Texas; many, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Gaskill Funeral Chapel.

Graveside service will be 1 p.m Saturday at Fairview Cemetery with Dr. Ed Fox officiating.

Bill Mendenhall
Chandler resident Bill Mendenhall,73, departed this life on Wednesday, Mar. 7, at his home in Chandler.

He was born Jan. 8, 1934, in Colcord, Okla., to Burlie Lee and Ruth (Creed) Mendenhall.

Bill served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He married Winifred Hanke on March 3, 1956, in Oklahoma City.

He was a graduate of the University of Central Oklahoma. Bill worked as an Oklahoma Highway Patrolman for 29 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister.

Survivors include his wife, Winnie of the home; daughters, Jerri Toumbs and Deborah Currid both of Chandler; brothers, Ralph Mendenhall of Tennessee and Carl Wilbanks of Eufaula; sister, Wanda Coffee of Oklahoma City; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.

Service will be p.m. at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Chandler, Oklahoma, with the Rev. Leon Williams officiating. Burial will follow at New Zion in Chandler.

Robert Brassfield
Wellston resident Robert Brassfield, 54, died Wednesday, Mar. 7, in Wellston.

Visitation will be today from noon - 8 p.m. at Gaskill Funeral Home.

Graveside service will be 10 a.m. at Rossville Cemetery with Pastor Paul Speer officiating.

Arrangements under the direction of Gaskill Funeral Chapel.

Velma Brumley
Longtime Seminole resident Velma Brumley, 76, died Tuesday, March 8, at her home.

Service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Little Chapel with Lee Estep officiating. Burial will follow at Little Cemetery.

Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole is directing arrangements.

Olderich Rumler
Tecumseh resident Olderich "Alex" Rumler, 57, died Tuesday, March 1, in Shawnee.

Service will be 11 a.m. today at Cooper Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Hogan officiating. Burial will follow at Tecumseh Cemetery.

Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh is in charge of arrangements.

Leland Guy Williams
Midwest City resident Leland Guy Williams, 52, died Monday, March 7, in Midwest City.

Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Pilgrims Rest Cemetery in Newalla with the Rev. Bill Derrick officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of Smith-Parks Funeral Service in Harrah.

Valdean Raye Buckhanon
Shawnee resident Valdean Raye Buckhanon, 41, died Tuesday, March 8, in a local hospital.

She was born March 28, 1963, in Carlsbad, N.M., to Charles Ray Lemons Sr. and Dixie Lee Abel. She has been a resident of Shawnee since she was 17 having attended school in California. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Tammy Lemons in 1992.

Survivors include her daughter and son, Chelsea and Rocky Buckhanon respectively of the home; brothers, Charles E. Lemons of Shawnee, Terry Burns of Midwest City, Roy Burns of Arkansas, Charles Ray Lemons Jr. of California, Kerry Lee Lemons of Nevada, Sean Black of Utah and Jason Black of California; parents, Charles and Freda Lemons of Shawnee and Dixie Lee Able of Utah; and friend and caregiver, Jim Brachard.

Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Open Door Church of God in Shawnee under the direction of Gaskill Funeral Home.

Margaret Elizabeth Emarthle
Konawa resident Margaret Elizabeth Emarthle, 51, died Wednesday, March 9, at her home in Konawa.

Wake service will be 6:30 p.m. Friday at Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Konawa.

Service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church with Kellos Walker officiating. Burial will follow at Emarthle family cemetery.

Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Home is directing arrangements.

Mary H. Green
Former Shawnee resident Mary H. Green, 61, died Tuesday, Feb. 20, in her home in Malvern, Ark.

Funeral was held Feb. 23 in Malvern, Ark. under the direction of Atkinson Funeral Home.
