Anna Mae King
Longtime Seminole resident Anna Mae (Everett) King died Wednesday, March 9, at a Seminole nursing center.
Service will be 10 a.m. today at Swearingen Funeral Chapel with Rick Ham, Ron Ham and the Rev. Roy Robertson officiating.
George "Henry" Hunt
Bethel Acres resident George "Henry" Hunt, 79, died Friday, March 9, at his home.
He was born Nov. 17, 1927, Lexington, Okla., the 18th child of 20 brothers, sisters, half-brothers and half-sisters, born to George Hunt, Sr. and Edith (Newville) Hunt.
Born east of Lexington, he was reared in Bethel Acres, where he graduated as Salutatorian of Bethel High School.
On September 15, 1948 he married Doris Killman in Gainesville, Texas. Following their marriage, they lived in Midwest City, moving back to Bethel in 1979, where they built their home on the family homestead, established in 1947, and have lived there since.
He worked as a supervisor for Townley's Dairy, as well as working for a time with Jordan Construction. He also worked for General Motors, from which he retired. He was a Deacon at Emmanuel Baptist Church in McLoud, as well as being a member of Shawnee Composite Lodge #107 of Shawnee, a 32nd degree Mason of Guthrie Scottish Rite, and a India Shriner. He enjoyed water skiing when he was younger, gardening, cutting wood, and the outdoors. He was a city councilman for the city of Bethel Acres, going on to serve as Mayor. He served on the Bethel School Board until just last month.
He was preceded in death by his parents and several brothers and sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Hunt of the home; three daughters and sons-in-law, DeCarla and Joseph Powers of Bethel Acres, Sheila and Jimmy Jordan of Tecumseh, Sonya and Richard Wood of Bethel Acres; four grandchildren, Ryan Deatherage, Chad Deatherage, Jennifer Roberson, and John Jordan; three step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Maudie Cox of Tecumseh and Mary Henderson of Schertz, Texas; numerous friends and family.
The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at Cooper Funeral Home.
Service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Cooper Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Donnie Bond and the Rev. Glen Pence officiating. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Park.
The family has designated the Emmanuel Baptist Church Building Fund, McLoud, as appropriate for memorials.
Vera F. Cline
Shawnee resident Vera F. Cline, 87, died Saturday, March 10, at a local nursing home.
She was born Feb. 18, 1920, in Wichita, Kan., to Edmund H. Smith and Nora Hazel (Elliott) Smith.
Vera attended Shawnee schools and graduated from high school in 1937. She married Earl Cline in September 1938.
She was part of Oak Park Church of God, Rebekah Lodge and Murrow Chapter of the Eastern Star. A past Grand Matriarch of Oklahoma Grand Encampment Auxiliary and Past Worthy Matron 5 times. She lived in Shawnee until after "World War ll", moving to Wichita, Kan. In 1952 she moved to Los Angeles, Calif., working for Douglas Aircraft. She married Edward Cortez in 1955 and returned to Shawnee.
Preceding her in death were her parents, both husbands, her son, Gary Cline, and a grandson, Chris.
Survivors include her two daughters and spouses, Glenda and Gaylord Connor of Denton, Texas and Gayle and Dan Poole of Wichita, Kan.; grandsons and spouses, Kip and LuAnn Connor, Michael and Allison Wheat, Aaron and Kathy Cline, Chad Thomas and wife, Michelle; granddaughter and spouses, Kim and David Darrough, Christy and J.D. Kennedy, Kelli Daggett, Savannah Cline; 18 great-grandchildren; and her dear friend Melba Boston and Family.
Service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Walker Funeral Service Chapel with the Rev. Leroy Kerbo officiating. Burial will be at Tecumseh Cemetery.
Harry James Harjo
Seminole resident Harry James Harjo, 66, died Saturday, March 10, in Henryetta.
Wake services will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel.
Service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Williams Family Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Ree Perry Cooper
Seminole resident Ree Perry Cooper, 93, died Saturday, March 10, in Seminole.
Service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Sulphur, Okla. Burial will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Sulphur Cemtery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Carlos N. Sisson
Shawnee resident Carlos N. Sisson, 83, died Friday, March 9, aat a local hospital.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Walker Funeral Service.
Mary Maxine Nolen
Former Shawnee resident Mary Maxine Nolen, 87, died Friday, March 11, in Norman.
Service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Shawnee.

Mary Maxine Nolen
Former Shawnee resident Mary Maxine Nolen, 87, of Norman died Friday, March 11, in Norman.
She was born Sept. 10, 1917, in Paris, Ark., to John and Lillie Thompson.
Nolen lived in McLoud from 1946 to 1985, moving to Shawnee in 1985. She moved to Norman in 2003.
On June 26, 1945, she married Clarence Nolen in Waddell, Ariz. He preceded her in death March 21, 1976.
She worked at a McLoud cafe for many years.
Nolen was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church and was active at the Senior Citizen Center.
She also was preceded in death by her parents; brothers and sisters, Wiliam Thompson, Frances Flanary, Ruby Deeds, Otis Thompson, Ethel Purdy and Laverne Woolsey; two stepsons, Alton Nolen and Bobby Nolen; and one grandson, Alton Wayne Nolen.
Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Ann Coreil of Baton Rouge, La., and Patsy Burbank of Norman; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Georgia Nolen of Asher and Betty Nolen of Shawnee; and several nieces and nephews.
Service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul's United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Rockford Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Dale Cemetery. Walker Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to Heartland Hospice of Norman or St. Paul's United Methodist Church.
W.R. Walton
Former Shawnee resident W.R. "Dick" Walton, 90, of Guthrie died Saturday, March 12, at a Guthrie nursing home.
He was born Aug. 17, 1914, in Turley to John and Pansy (Welch) Walton.
He went to school in Turley, Seminole and East Central State University in Ada.
He was an oil field worker.
On Dec. 2, 1940, he married Nina Burk in Reno, Nev. She preceded him in death May 31, 1999.
He lived in Oklahoma for the past 40 years, having lived in Oregon, California and Arkansas.
Survivors include daughters, Karen Sue Roberts of Guthrie, Linda June Toops of Cushing, Gwen Ellen Fisher of Alamosa, Calif., Billie Ann Hensley of Norman and Galen Patricia Rowlands of Aurora, Colo.; sons and a daughter-in-law, David and Karol Walton of Long Grove and Paul Stuart Walton of Coos Bay, Ore.; a sister, Nellie Moore of Rogers, Ark.; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Walker Funeral Service Chapel.
The casket will be open until service time and will not be opened after the service.
Arrangements are under the direction of Walker Funeral Service.
Naomi M. Smith
Naomi M. Smith 85, died March 10, at home in Oklahoma City.
She was born June 14, 1919, in Hardinsville, Ill., to Louie W. and Jessie M. (Rice) Shaneck.
Smith attended schools in Hardinsville and Oblong, Ill.
On April 20, 1940, she married Delbert F. Smith in Oblong, Ill. They made their home in Stillwater and Shawnee and in 1963 they moved to Oklahoma City. He preceded her in death on Dec. 18, 2002.
Smith was a homemaker and helped her husband with the family owned business, Oklahoma Seismograph Co., until her retirement.
She also was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.
Survivors include by one son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Diane Smith of Nashville, Tenn.; one daughter and son-in-law, Pat and Robert Knight of Shawnee; three grandchildren and spouses, Stephanie and Travis Shepherd and Kathy and Terrance Gray, all of the Nashville, Tenn., area, and Jason and Lisa Knight of Dallas, Texas; three great-grandchildren of Tennessee; and many family members.
Graveside service and burial will be 2 p.m. Monday at Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Sheri Weaver will be officiating.
Visitation will be at Hahn-Cook/Street & Draper Funeral Directors of Oklahoma City. The casket will be closed Monday at noon.
