Goldie Marie Austin
Goldie Marie Austin, 88, Shawnee, died Wednesday in Shawnee.

She was born March 8, 1915, in Oklahoma City, to Archie Raymond and Nola (Caldwell) King. She attended Oklahoma City and Shawnee area schools through the eighth grade.

On June 13, 1934, She married Joel Creath Austin in Shawnee.

She worked at the Shawnee Milling Company for five years, then at Southwest Athletic Company (Austin Athletic) in Shawnee. She later worked as a seamstress at the Shawnee Garment Factory for five years.

She was a member of Heritage Baptist Church, and cooked for First Baptist Church for many years. She worked in the church nursery for 30 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Gene and James Raymond King, and husband, Creath Austin.

Survivors include two children, Kenneth and his wife Diana Austin of Tecumseh and Janice and her husband Gary Moore of Shawnee; seven grandchildren and their spouses, Tammy and Howard Freeman, Shawnee; Gary and Darla Moore, Shawnee; Kris and Grover Cleveland, Shawnee; Janie Austin, Canadian; Sarah and Al Skelton, Shawnee; Gene and Karon Austin, Oklahoma City; Nancy and Darold Madden, Tecumseh; great-grandchildren, Summer Moore, Kimberly and Beth Freeman, April and Neil Weathers, Cody Ray Hale, Caleb Madden, Becky Skelton, Heather Swearingen and Christina Wiggens; great-great-grandchild, Alexis Morris, and three sisters-in-law.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at Gaskill-Owens Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Larry Norris officiating. Burial will be at Tecumseh Cemetery.

There will be a dinner for family and friends at noon Monday at Heritage Baptist Church.

Robert E. Williams
Tulsa resident Robert E. Williams, 73, died Friday in Tulsa.

He was born Nov. 10, 1929, in Okemah, the son of Clarence Luther and Lottie (Lester) Williams.

He married Glenda Sue Kilby on Dec. 12, 1951, in Prague.

He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean conflict. He was a Tulsa resident for 37 years and was a retired architectural engineer.

He was preceded in death by his wife in 1986, and his parents.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Mark A. and Jo Ann Williams of Owasso; two daughters, Jennifer Williams and Linda Minnick, both of Tulsa, and three grandchildren.

Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Prague Cemetery, Dr. Ben Husted officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.

Shirley Yvonne Winkcompleck
Shirley Yvonne Winkcompleck, 48, of Shawnee died Thursday at St. Anthony's Hospital in Oklahoma City.

Survivors include sons and a daughter-in-law, Freddy and Summer Smith of Tecumseh and Cory Smith of Prague; sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda and Gary Patrick of Tulsa and Stella and Buster McCoy of Seminole; brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Shirley Winkcompleck of Seminole, Robert Winkcompleck of Seminole; and Gary and Shelly Winkcompleck of Tecumseh, and many other relatives.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Temple of Praise Church in Seminole. Arrangements are under the direction of Gaskill-Owens Funeral Home of Shawnee.

Kiley Gabrielle Kean
Kiley Gabrielle Kean, newborn daughter of Kyle and Lori Kean of Seminole, died Friday at a local hospital.

Also surviving are her grandparents, Lonnie and Kim Kean of Seminole, Sherry Warrenburg of Seminole, and Reid and Connie Warrenburg of McAlester; great-grandparents, Dean and Joe Booth of Norman; Nan Fowler of Seminole, and great-great-grandmother, Alice Thrasher of Dale.

Service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Grace Community Church, Ralph Jones and Drew Isaacs officiating. Burial will be at Little Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole.

Leo Jones
Tecumseh residen Leo Jones, 83, died Tuesday, June 5, in Tecumseh.

He was born July 13, 1923, in Keota, Okla., to Bryant and Nora Alberta (Brigance) Jones.

Leo was a member of the Broadway United Methodist Church of Tecumseh.

After 20 years in the Military Air Transport Service, Leo retired as a Chief Petty Officer from the U.S. Navy in 1962. He served during World War II, as well as Korea and Vietnam as a flight engineer. He enjoyed his Navy Career which took him to Europe and Asia.

He was married February 28, 1948, in Ft. Smith, Ark. to Maxine Hall.

Leo attended San Jose State and San Jose City colleges in California completing an associates degree in accounting and real estate. Upon moving back to Oklahoma in 1971 he and his family moved to Tecumseh. Leo was a real estate broker and an appraiser for nearly thirty years in the Shawnee area. He completed an additional associate degree from Seminole Junior College.

Leo enjoyed working in the community and his church. He was president of the Shawnee Board of Realtors, president of the Central Oklahoma National Association of Independent Fee Appraisers, president of the Diamond K Kiwanis, vice president of American Legion Post #260 in Tecumseh, Chair of the Pottawatomie County Democrat Party, president of the India Shrine Club in Shawnee. Leo was a 33rd Degree Mason. For many years he was treasurer of the Home Finance Authority in Shawnee.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Bill Jones; and sisters Lola Williams and Gerldine Vermeulen.

He leaves his wife, Maxine of the home; sister, Christine Tate and husband, Wayne, of White House, Tenne., brother, Wayne Jones and wife, Jill, of Norwich, England; brother-in-law, Bud Hall and wife, Geri, of Council Hill, Okla.; sons, Richard of Meeker, Robert and wife, Jerry, of Tecumseh; five grandchildren, Cavan Jones and wife, Erika, Rashael Jones, Lacey Jones, Miles Jones and Sarah Weeks and husband, Jeff; and four great-grandchildren, Raven Jones, Reign Jones, Madison Jones and Blake Weeks.

Service will be 10 a.m. Monday at Broadway United Methodist Church of Tecumseh.

Glenda F. Buck
Our beloved Glenda F. Buck passed away Saturday, June 2, in San Diego, Calif., while visiting her daughter and son-in-law, Dr. Martina Buck and Dr. Mario Chojkier.

Glenda spent many years abroad with her late husband, George Buck, and family. She has now come home.

Glenda is survived by her finance' Bob Valderas, her daughter, Dr. Martina Buck and son-in-law, Dr. Mario Chojkier; son, Kevin Buck; and a host of other family and friends.

A Rosary service will be 7 p.m. today at Swearingen Funeral Home in Konawa.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Konawa with Father Matthew Brown, O.S.B. officiating.

Pall bearers will be Mario Chojkier, George Winters, Kevin Buck, Bob Valderas, Charles Johnston and Gene Dennie. Honorary bearer will be David Green.

Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery. She will be laid to rest at the Sacred Heart Church Cemetery in Konawa next to her father, Elmer Johnston; mother, Lorena Boyd Johnston; sister, Mary Winters; and her brothers, J.E. Johnston and Jack Johnston.

Veda Mae Wall
Former Shawnee resident Veda Mae Wall, our beloved mother,went to be with her Heavenly Father Thursday, June 7.

She was born Nov. 29, 1925, in Shawnee to Floyd and Rosa Jackson.

Shortly after high school graduation she married Sturgeon "S.T." Wall. He preceded her in death in 1983.

Veda had a variety of interesting jobs. Always with flair, she taught modeling with Pat Shockley in Shawnee. She then worked for Ruth Meyers, Balliet's and Rothschild's. She also taught "White Gloves and Party Manners for Children" and served as Chairperson for Our Little Miss and La Petite from the late 1960s until about 1975.

Veda attended service at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church.

Survivors include two children, D'Lisa Reynard of Nashville, Tenn., and Dennis Wall and his wife, Sharon, of Chesterfield, Mo.; two grandchildren, Corbin and Allyson Wall; special care giver, Sarah Shassetz; and a host of other family and friends.

Service will be 10 a.m. today at Guardian Funeral Home North Chapel with burial following at 1 p.m. at Resthaven Cemetery in Shawnee.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation (OMRF) for Alzheimer's Research.

Darrell Allen Dukes
Prague resident Darrell Allen Dukes, 71, departed this life Friday, June 8, in Prague.

He was born July 1, 1935, to Arthur Dewey and Alta Belle (Little) Dukes in Paden.

He was a graduate of Paden High School. He married Maxine Ellison on Dec. 23, 1955, in Paden. Darrel was long-time employee of the Prague Public Schools. He worked tirelessly as a volunteer with the City of Prague in various capacities including ambulance service, fire department, and civil defense. He was a retired Prague Fire Chief Defense Director. Darrell was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Masonic Lodge.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and one sister.

Survivors include his wife of over 50 years, Maxine Dukes of the home; sons, Mike Dukes and his special friend, Amanda of Prague, Dennis Dukes and his wife, Jamie of Prague; grandchildren, Allen and Brandy Moore of Paden, Mike Dukes Jr. of Eufaula, Denise and Scott Cindle of Paden, Aimee Dukes of Tecumseh, Shelby Dukes of Prague; great-grandchildren, Tanner Moore, Garrett Moore, and Bailey Cindle; sisters-in-law, Dolores Dukes of Prague, Cheryl Dukes of Prague; many nieces, nephews, and other friends.

Service will be 2 p.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church in Prague with Bro. Tim Emmons officiating. Burial will follow at the Prague Cemetery.

Debra Bambrough
Shawnee resident Debra Bambrough, 45, died Wednesday, June 6, at her residence.

Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Resthaven Memorial Park.

Arrangements are under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home.
