Anthony Joe Sanders
Former Earlsboro resident Anthony Joe Sanders went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 19. He was 36.

He was born Dec. 10, 1970, in Haleyville, Ala., to Linda Kessinger and Joseph Sanders.

Anthony loved to spend time with his family and friends. He lived an adventurous life that took him to many different places with the hope of making it rich. He liked to spend time playing poker and having bible discussions.

Survivors include his mother, Linda Kessinger of Tecumseh; father, Joe and Carol Sanders of Meeker; sisters and brothers and their spouses, Corrina and Rob Bruno of Tecumseh, Glen and Lacey Sanders of Earlsboro, Casey and Tammy Sanders of Earlsboro, Matt and Sarah Lynch of Meeker, Tazman and LaSheila Brannon of Shawnee, Bill and Tammy Carpenter of Shawnee, Jolene Sanders of Norman, and Dalton Sanders of Norman; nieces and nephews, Jamie, Rietta, Jessica, Ashley, Stormi, Courtney, Hanna, Abegale, Brooklyn and Janylah, Levi, J.R., Joshua, Austin, Christopher, Kaleb, Keveen, Keewan, Ryan, Braden, Hunter and Ajay.

Ants, we love you and you will be missed by all.

Viewing will be 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Friday at Cooper Funeral Home.

Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Friday, at Forest Hill Cemetery.

Phillip G. Parks
Longtime Seminole resident Phillip G. Parks died Tuesday, June 19, in Oklahoma City at the age of 85.

Service will be 10 a.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church with Paul Anderson officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Seminole.

Barba Rae Ford
Shawnee resident Barba Rae (Buoy) Ford died Wednesday, June 20, in Shawnee at the age of 71.

More information is pending from Walker Funeral Service.

Clara Belle Cloninger
Clara Belle Cloninger of Shawnee died Thursday at McLoud Nursing Center at the age of 91.

She was born May 30, 1912, in Coleman to Marion Clinton Lee and Ida Olive (Powell) Lee. She worked as a telephone operator.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and three sisters.

Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Darlene and Donald Johnson of Bethel, Christine and Ronald Slyter of Scottsdale, Ariz.; sister, Hazel Hefley of Clarita; brother, O.C. Lee of Clarita; seven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

A wake service will be 7 p.m. today at Resthaven Funeral Home. Funeral will be 10 a.m. Monday at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church in McLoud, with the Rev. Eugene Marshall officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.

Arrangements are under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home.

Verda Mae Alldredge Bearden
Verda Mae "Pokey" Alldredge Bearden died Friday in Big Spring, Texas. She was 56.

She was born Oct. 20, 1946, in Tecumseh. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Woodrow Max and Verda Lee (Banning) Alldredge, and a brother, William Max Alldredge.

Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Lloyd Arledge of Abilene, Texas; Debra and Ronnie Walker of Big Spring, Texas; two sisters, Pat Lauderdale of Choctaw and Joyce McCoy of Shawnee; brother, Jim Alldredge of Meeker; six grandchildren, Brandon Webb, Jamie and Maggie Sanders, all of Green Forest, Ark.; Michael and William Watts III, both of Abilene, Texas; Chelsea Watts of Big Spring, Texas, and three great-grandchildren.

Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Brown Cemetery, west of Tecumseh, with the Rev. Larry Sparks officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of Walker Funeral Service of Shawnee.

Marjorie Vaughn
McLoud resident Marjorie Vaughn, 67, died Saturday at Unity Health Center, North Campus, in Shawnee.

Arrangements are pending with Resthaven Funeral Home of Shawnee.

F. Clorene Neal
Former Konawa resident F. Clorene Neal died Friday at a Bartlesville hospital. She was 97.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Lowell and Betty Neal of Bartlesville; a granddaughter and two great-grandchildren, and other relatives.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Chapel in Konawa with the Rev. Charley Henthorn officiating. Burial will follow at Konawa City Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church in Konawa.

Alice E. Stever
Alice E. Stever, 50, of Tecumseh died June 13 in Shawnee.

Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Stever, of the home; sons, Michael Kenneth Stever of Shawnee and Robert James Stever, of the home; daughter, Nancy Lynn Stever of Shawnee, and numerous grandchildren.

Graveside memorial will be 10 a.m. Monday at Brown Cemetery.

Ezra Earl Johnson
Ezra Earl Johnson, 95, of Shawnee died Saturday at a local hospital.

Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery. Walker Funeral Services will announce further arrangements.

Glen D. Sturgis
Tecumseh resident Glen D. Sturgis died Thursday, June 21, in Tecumseh at the age of 84.

He was born April 16, 1923, in Wewoka to Guy Charles and Linda Lou (Moore) Sturgis.

He was reared in Butner, Okla., and attended Butner Schools.

On Feb. 23, 1944, he married Rose Marie Seckel. She preceded him in death on Dec. 21, 2000.

Following his marriage, they lived in Shawnee, Seminole, Sulphur, Ardmore and Moore. In 1974, they moved to Tecumseh where he had resided since.

Glen worked in pipeline construction. While living in Seminole, he worked as a distributor for the Tulsa World Newspaper. He had also sold insurance. Glen then worked as a flight mechanic at the Ardmore AFB and then worked as an aircraft mechanic at FAA. He retired from FAA.

He enjoyed traveling with his 5th wheel trailer, raising cattle and family history.

Also preceding him in death were his parents and one grandson, Jimmy Dale Kalivoda.

Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Glen and Vickie Sturgis of Boerne, Texas, and Don and Karen Sturgis of Tecumseh; daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Donnell Kalivoda of Oklahoma City; grandchildren, Rusty and Robin Sturgis, JoBeth Sturgis, Grant Sturgis, Christine Lopez, Amy (Sturgis) and Larry Hall, Margret Sturgis and Danielle Kalivoda; four great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Edna and V.A. Pratt of Maud; brothers and sisters-in-law, Guy and Fran Sturgis, Charles and Wanda Sturgis, all of Tecumseh; numerous other relatives and friends.

Service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Cooper Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Park.

Troy J. Swafford
Wellston resident Troy J. Swafford died Thursday, June 21 at the age of 39.

Services are pending with Parks Brothers Funeral Service, Chandler.

Neva "Lorene" McClatchey
Former longtime Konawa resident Neva "Lorene" McClatchey died Wednesday, June 20, at Valley View Regional Hospital in Ada at the age of 72. She was currently a resident of Ballard Nursing Center in Ada.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to noon Saturday.

Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Vamoosa Cemetery in Konawa with Bro. Wade Scott officiating.

Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeal Home, Konawa.

Murel Dean Wise
Pink resident Murel Dean Wise, 77, died Monday, June 21, at a local nursing home.

He was born June 25, 1926, in Monroe to Woodson Wise and Nena (Pickle) Coursey. He graduated from Monroe High School. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and received the Purple Heart. He married Clara Mooney.

He was a Missionary Baptist minister and served as pastor of many churches in Oklahoma, Arkansas, Texas and California. He also drove a truck for TransCon Freight Lines. Wise was a 32 degree Mason and a member of numerous Baptist church associations and TransCon Drivers Association.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Murel Wise Jr., and two grandsons, Albert Pacheco and James T. Wise.

Survivors include his wife, Clara Wise, of the home; four sons, Jerry D. Wise of Norman, Charles M. Wise of Oklahoma City, Larry D. Wise of Norman, John T. Wise of McLoud; three daughters, Sharon L. McLin of Tecumseh, Betty Murelene Miller of Del City, Mary Denise Davis of Moore; three brothers, Daryl "Pete" Wise and wife Sue of Ada, Joe M. Wise and wife Jean of Midwest City, J.W. Wise of Oklahoma City; sisters-in-law, Ruth and Floy May, both of Conway, Ark.; 19 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild, and many other relatives.

The casket will be opened until 8 p.m. Thursday and will not be opened at the church.

Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Northwest Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Ed Fox and the Rev. James Crawford officiating. Burial will be at 3 p.m. Friday in Monroe.

Walker Funeral Service is directing arrangements.

Willa Macsas
Willa Macsas, 78, died Tuesday, June 22, in a Midwest City hospital.

Arrangements are pending with Walker Funeral Service.
