Christine Marie Lofties
Christine Marie Lofties of Shawnee died Friday at an area nursing home. She was 77.

Lofties was born March 24, 1926, in Seminole. She was one of five sisters and attended school in Shawnee.

In 1944, she married Lloyd L. Lofties of Shawnee. The two were married for 58 years.

The couple lived in many states. Lofties was a homemaker. She worked as a bookkeeper in Booker, Texas, and a clerk in an Arkansas women's apparel shop.

The Lofties retired to to Bella Vista, Ark., where they were active in the Church of Christ. They moved back to Shawnee in 1995.

Lofties is survived by her husband, Lloyd Lofties of Shawnee; two children and spouses, Steve and Timmy Lofties of Guymon and Pam and John Taylor of Corpus Christi, Texas; two grandchildren and spouse, Lindsay and Zachary Barton of Guymon and Tyler Taylor of Corpus Christi; two sisters, Ethylene Wilbanks and Wilma Ferguson, both of Shawnee; two brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law, Glen and Louise Lofties of Pennsylvania; and Cecil Decker of Midwest City.

Visitation will be 8 a.m. to noon today at Gaskill-Owens Funeral Chapel, Shawnee. Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. at Little Cemetery.

Memorials may be made in her name to Golden Rule Nursing Home, 38801 Hardesty Road, Shawnee.

Ina Duggan
Ina Dugga, 97-year-old Tecumseh resident, died Thursday in Shawnee.

Service will be 10 a.m. Monday at Cooper Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Burress officiating. Burial will take place at the Tecumseh Cemetery.

Other information is pending and will be announced by Cooper Funeral Home, Tecumseh.

Dorothy Lucille Bennett
Dorothy Lucille Bennett, 88, died Thursday at a Moore hospital.

She is survived by two sons and their spouses, Dewey and Linda Bennett of Midwest City and the Rev. Louis and Glenda Bennett of Moore; six daughters and spouses, the Rev. Floretta Reed of Oklahoma City, Virginia Van Curen of Stroud, Kaye and Jimmy Hulsey of McLoud, Billie Acree of Oklahoma City, Linda and Joe Garrett of Oklahoma City and Patty and Jerry Jackson of Midwest City; one sister, Zelma Jeans Sims of Shawnee; sister-in-law, Martha Ramsey and Naomi Mitchell, both of Lexington; niece, Ann Dean Rose of Jacksonville, Fla.; 27 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; and many other family.

Service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Lakeside Church of God in Norman with the Rev. J.H. Ford, the Rev. Paul Jackson and the Rev. Kenneth Adams officiating. Burial will take place at Lexington Cemetery. Wadley Funeral Service, Purcell, is in charge of arrangements.

Richard Glenn Lee
Richard Glenn Lee of Shawnee died Wednesday at OU Medical Center after a car accident. He was 39.

Lee was born July 8, 1964, in Lawton to George and Sandra Gill Lee. He graduated from Shawnee High School.

He was employed at the Onix Industrial Service.

Lee is preceded in death by his mother, Sandra Lee; one brother, Kenny Lee; and one nephew, Alan Salgado.

He is survived by his father, George Lee; his son, Dawson Lee; two brothers and their spouses, Mike and Pat Lee and Craig and Belinda Lee; five neices and nephews, Amy and Chris Perkins, Cindy Lee, Tasha Salgado, Kenny Lee and Grant Lee. He also is survived by one great-niece and two great-nephews.

A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Fairview Cemetery with the Rev. John Mixon officiating.

Alvin Louis Littleton
Alvin Louis Littleton of Shawnee died Thursday at St. Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City. He was 91.

He was born Jan. 14, 1912, near Wellington, Texas, to Alvin Ernest and Alice Virginia (Caver) Littleton.

He grew up in Oklahoma, then moved to California in 1942. In 1975, he returned to Shawnee after retiring from painting.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lois; his daughter, Virginia Ruth Sullivan; five sisters; and five brothers.

He is survived by three sisters, Ruth Reese Kaler of Shawnee, Vesta Mays of Shawnee, Lahoma Reese of Shawnee; three brothers, E.T. Littleton of Del City, and Gary Littleton of Ada; three granddaughters; four grandsons; 10 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; many other relatives; and lifelong friends, Ralph Mays and Jake Reese.

Service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dwayne Dennis officiating. Burial will be held at Resthaven Memorial Park.

Laquita Ledford-Legarda
Broken Arrow resident Laquita Ledford-Legarda, 52, went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 16.

Laquita was born in Shawnee on August 21, 1954 to Herbert "H.L." and Inez (Jones) Ledford. She lived in Shawnee for all but the last ten years of her life, which she spent in the Tulsa/Broken Arrow area.

Laquita was a member of Liberty Baptist Church, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, and 40 et 8. She loved hummingbirds, beading, and spoiling her grandchildren.

Laquita was preceded in death by her grandparents and her mother.

She is survived be her father, H.L. Ledford of Shawnee; children, Jeremy Clifford of Broken Arrow, Micca Legarda of Tulsa, and Kerry Legarda of Broken Arrow; siblings, LaVon Davis and Dianna Ledford, both of Shawnee; grandchildren, Mercedes, Lexi, and Xavier; numerous nieces and nephews.

Service will be 10 a.m. Friday at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.

Marcella Burrows
Shawnee resident Marcella (Rimer) Burrows, 62, died Friday, July 13, at a local hospital.

She was born July 19, 1944, in Shawnee to Foy Marion Rimer and Mattie Love (Page) Rimer.

She went to high school and business college.

Marcella was previously married to Gene Burrow, Sr.

She was a Secretary/Bookkeeper for 15 years at Harvey's GMC. She loved working, loved her dogs, fish pond, gardening, and her children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, 2 year old Wade Burrows; and sister, Sharon Kinnamon.

Survivors include two daughters, Darla Kinnamon and Sheila Burrows; son, Gene Burrows Jr.; grandchildren, Destinee Burrows, Jennifer Brown, Brett and Brock Kinnamon, Brian Jarvis and Miranda Easley; five great-grandchildren; four brothers, R.C. Rimer, Foy Lee Rimer, Clayton Rimer, and Mark Rimer, Marcella's twin; three sisters, Betty Withrow, Shirley Hayden and Virginia Guthrie; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Graveside service was held Tuesday at Dale Cemetery with the Rev. Bill Derrick officiating.

Dora Mae Herrera
Dora Mae (Dirt) Herrera, 69, of Shawnee died Friday.

Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Cornerstone Indian Baptist Church in Little Axe with the Rev. Bryce Scott officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery.

Further arrangements are pending and will be announced by Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.

Eula D. Fore
Eula D. Fore died Wednesday at a local nursing home in Shawnee at the age of 92.

She was born Dec. 17, 1910, in Maud, the daughter of Thomas L. and Sara (Wade) Shelton.

She was a member of the Lakeview Church of Christ in Shawnee.

Fore is survived by her daughter, Wanda Ray of Shawnee; two grandsons and spouses, Mike and Debi Brittain of Shawnee and Larry and Jackie Brittain of Ennis, Texas; one granddaughter and her husband, Teresa and Sam Gann of Shawnee; great-grandchildren and spouses, Michael and Julie Brittain, Jason Brittain, Chance and Stephanie Mathews, Ryan Gann and Kayci Gann, all of Shawnee, Jennifer Brittain of Stillwater, Kim and Denis Jones of Ada and Larry Allen, Zachary, Jorden and Brandon Brittain, all of Ennis, Texas; and 10 great great-grandchildren.

A service will be 10 a.m. Monday at the Walker Funeral Service Chapel with the Rev. Ben Glover officiating. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Park.

Dora Mae Herrera
Dora Mae Dirt Herrera, 69, died Friday in Shawnee.

Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Cornerstone Indian Baptist Church, Little Axe, with the Rev. Bryce Scott officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.

Cooper Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Herrera was born Oct. 26, 1932, in Lawton to Wilber and Emily "Little Bear" Dirt. She lived most of her life in Shawnee and attended Haskell Indian School in Lawrence, Kan.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member and elder of the Absentee Shawnee Tribe. She also was a member of the Cornerstone Indian Baptist Church.

Herrera is preceded in death by her parents; one son, Robert Wayne Tyner, and a granddaughter, Keona Moletta Jordon.

Survivors include her daughter, Arlene Herrera, Denver, Colo.; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Dan Tyner, Shawnee, Rudy and Frankie Herrera, Shawnee; four sisters, Jenny Lee Ross, Cordelia Maxfield, Dorothy Dirt, Alice Dirt; brother, Paul "Mutt" Day; four grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
