Barbara Sue (Tomlinson) Climer
Earlsboro resident Barbara Sue (Tomlinson) Climer, 61, died Saturday in Shawnee.

A graveside service will be 10 a.m. today at Fairview Cemetery. The Rev. Glen Pence will officiate.

The daughter of Clayton and Lois Bell (Reid) Tomlinson was born Sept. 18, 1939, in Eureka, Kan. She attended Konawa schools.

She had lived most of her life in the Shawnee area.

On Nov. 25, 1957, she and Joe Climer were married in Meeker.

Mrs. Climer was a self-employed housekeeper for 27 years.

Her parents precede her in death.

Survivors include her husband, of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Monte and Junia Climer of Shawnee, and Jackie and Angela Climer of Earlsboro; two daughters and a son-in-law, LaDonna Sue Climer of Louisiana, and Chrystal and Todd Ring of Shawnee; a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Patsy Tomlinson of Bristow; his mother-in-law, Dorothy Climer of Shawnee; four grandchildren, Justin Climer, Mackenzie Climer, Andrea Climer and Andrew Ring, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association.

Edith Pearl Casteel
Edith Pearl Casteel, 96, Shawnee, died Saturday in a local nursing home.

A graveside service will be 10 a.m. today at Resthaven Memorial Park. The Rev. Richard Stillwell will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel.

She was born July 3, 1905, in Rorton, Texas, the daughter of Henry and Letha (Farris) Billings.

She worked at Sylvania and was a cook for Shawnee Medical Center Hospital.

On Sept. 11, 1926, she and Euin Robert Casteel were married in Tecumseh. They farmed in Seminole County.

Mrs. Casteel was a member of Fairview Baptist Church, Prairie Valley Extension Homemakers Club, the Rose Society and the AARP.

Preceding her in death were her parents; two sisters, Edwina Billings and Susie Bonfiles; one brother, Guy Billings; one son-in-law, Stelza Wood; and one grandson, David Wayne Wood.

Survivors include her three daughters and sons-in-law, Nadine and Gerald Hensley of Anaheim, Calif., Sandra and Robert Green and Joyce Wood, all of Shawnee; her sister, Eva McGuffee of Shawnee; brother, Fred Billings of Hot Springs, Ark.; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to Fairview Baptist Church.

Delmar Leon Smith
Delmar Leon Smith, Marlow, died Friday at West Wind Assisted Living in Marlow at the age of 92.

He was born May 11, 1909, in Grandfield to E.F. Smith and Rosa (Betts) Smith.

He was a graduate of Snyder High School. He had lived in Marlow since 1978, living in Wynnewood and Frederick before his move to Marlow.

On Feb. 29, 1936, he and Nina Thomas were married in Marietta. She preceded him in death.

Smith worked in the oilfield and as a welder for Chicago Bridge and Iron. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist.

He also was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Harold Jackson.

Survivors include his daughter, Delores Jackson of Shawnee; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Lavonne and Nancy Smith of Redding, Calif.; Leon Smith of Wynnewood, and Robert and Angie Smith of Cumby, Texas; four sisters, Marie McCarley, Margaret Martin and Nellie McLearen, all of Marlow, and Irene McGuff of California; a brother, Eugene Smith of Marlow; seven grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Services will be 10 a.m. today at Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel, Marlow. Victor Adams will officiate. Burial will be at Green Hill Cemetery in Davis.

Mildred Ione Bryant
Mildred Ione Bryant of Shawnee died Sunday at a local hospital. She was 88.

She was born Oct. 9, 1912, in Allen, Okla. She attended Seminole schools, graduating in 1932. She was class president, captain of the debate team and football queen.

She married Nova Berry Bryant July 21, 1934, in Konawa. He preceded her in death Feb. 5, 1972.

She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and was a collector and seller of antiques.

Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Ernie Taber of Shawnee; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Sherry Bryant of Shawnee, Chuck and Jan Bryant of Enid; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one sister, Marcella Peck of Oklahoma City.

Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel with Bill Matthews officiating, assisted by Phil Thompson. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park.

Palmira Diaz
Former Shawnee resident Palmira Diaz died July 17 in Miami, Fla. She was 97.

She was born Dec. 26, 1903, in Valencia, Spain. She moved to Shawnee from Havana, Cuba, and lived here until 1976. She then moved to Miami.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Orlando and Mickey Diaz, Shawnee; Amado and Gladys Diaz, Savannah, Ga.; four grandchildren and their spouses, Susie and Johnie Malone and Dr. Orlando "Lanny" Diaz Jr. and Jeanie, all of Shawnee; Gretel and Tony Aboujaoude, Miami; and Carlos and Carolyn Diaz, Savannah; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Services were held July 19 at Rivero Funeral Home, Miami, Fla. Burial was in Woodlawn Park North, Miami.

James E. Raupe
Macomb resident James Raupe died Monday at the age of 71.

He was born Dec. 27, 1929, in Stillwater to Lester and Flossie Raupe. He attended school in Stillwater and graduated high school in Bryan, Texas.

He married Ilse Hartman March 19, 1955 and lived throughout Europe during his military career. He had also lived in Del City before moving to Macomb in 1988. Raupe joined the U.S.. Air Force in 1947 and served during the Korean conflict. He retired as a master sergeant in 1968.

He later worked in Civil Service for Oklahoma City, retiring in 1988.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Ted Raupe, and an infant sister.

He is survived by his wife, Ilse, of the home; three daughters and one son-in-law, Liz Cannon of Edmond, Kathy and Blane Allen of Shawnee and Jenny Lloyd of Macomb; one son and daughter-in-law, Ed and Caroline Raupe of Anchorage, Alaska; one brother, B. Glen Raupe, Bryan, Texas; one sister, Elsie Mae Davis of South Carolina and six grandchildren, Eric Neller, Kyle Neller, Emilie Allen, Rachel Anderson, Sean Raupe and Catherine Raupe.

Graveside services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Prairie View Cemetery with the Rev. William H. Bentley officiating.

Services will be conducted by Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.

Ethel Mae (Smith) Dudley
Ethel Mae Dudley of Oak Grove died Sunday at the age of 93.

She was born May 8, 1908, in Cushing to Henry and Sophia (Pauli) Smith. She grew up and was educated in Cushing.

She married John E. Dudley Dec. 17, 1927 in Sapulpa.

She was a member of the First Christian Church for more than 50 years and was an elected officer in the Order of the Eastern Starr. She was active in the Cushing senior citizens group, performing in the Kitchen Band for several years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, son Tommy Ray Dudley, seven brothers and four sisters.

She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Mildred and Doyle Jenkins of Tulsa; one son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Roberta Dudley of Shawnee; one sister, Orpha Fisher of Cushing; five grandchildren, Pam Burnley, Karla Burnley, Gina Burnett and her husband, Chris, all of Tulsa, Greg Dudley of Seminole, and Michaelle Davis and her husband, Adam, of Shawnee; 12 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. today and Wednesday at the Davis Funeral Home of Cushing.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in the First Christian Church with Curtis Mason officiating. A private burial will be held in the Harrell Cemetery prior to the memorial service.

Roy Stevens
Roy Stevens, 84, died Monday, July 21, at Southwest Medical Center in Oklahoma City.

A service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Northridge Church of Christ in Shawnee with Mike Shelburne and Cliff Craig officiating. Burial will take place in Resthaven Memorial Park.

Stevens, a 29-year resident of Shawnee, was born March 13, 1919, in Van Horn, Texas, to John and Etta (Wilson) Stevens. He graduated from high school in Water Valley, Ky.

On Feb. 1, 1942, he married Martha Ford in Charleston, Mo.

Four days later, he was inducted into the United States Army Air Corps. While stationed in England, he served as a technical sergeant. His decorations include the American Theater Ribbon, EAME Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, World War II Victory and DUB GO 50 WD.

He worked at Wolverine Tube for 43 years, and was a maintenance supervisor before he retired in the early 1980s.

Stevens was a charter member of Northridge Church of Christ, where he served as treasurer for many years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Martha; three brothers, Jim, Earl and Buster Stevens.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Roy and Cheralynn Stevens of Oklahoma City; two grandchildren, Jeremy B. Stevens and Kailee A. Stevens, both of Oklahoma City; one sister, Ruth Twigg of South Fulton, Tenn.; one sister-in-law, Barbara Stevens of Fredericksburg, Pa., and many other relatives.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Resthaven Funeral Home, Shawnee. Memorials may be made to Northridge Church of Christ.
