Mary Louise Barrett
Longtime Shawnee resident Mary Louise Barrett, 96, died Wednesday, Aug. 16, at Golden Rule Nursing Home in Shawnee.

She was born June 12, 1911 in Wetumka to Thomas Hall Gantt and Marry Luzzata (Fredrick) Gannt.

Mary worked in food service in many places.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, two brothers, one sister, one son-in-law and one grandbaby.

Survivors include her son and wife, Don and Alma Spencer of Grandview, Mo.; daughter, Joan Trimble of Spanaway, Wash.; daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Royce Peerson of Holdenville; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside service will be 10 a.m. at Resthaven Memorial Park in Shawnee with Minister Alan Eck officiating.

Daniel Arthur Coscia
Tecumseh resident Daniel Arthur Coscia died Friday, Aug. 17, in Tecumseh at the age of 68.

Services are pending and will be announced by Walker Funeral Service of Shawnee.

Esperance Kizzair Cleere
Esperance Kizzair Cleere, 102, died Wednesday, Aug. 15.

Graveside service will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday at Resthaven Cemetery in Shawnee under the direction of Moore's Memory Chapel, 1403 S. Peoria, Tulsa, Okla.

Melpherd James "Doc" Switch
Shawnee resident Melpherd James "Doc" Switch, 89, passed away Sunday, Aug. 19, in Norman.

He was born April 17, 1918, to James and Mary Switch in Norman.

He was a laborer, a member of Bible Temple Church and an Absentee Shawnee Elder.

Preceding him in death were his parents; son, Willie James Switch; sister, Zelma Couch; and brother, Floyd Switch.

Survivors include Beatrice Ellis, Melpherd Dewayne Switch, Douglas Vaughn Switch and daughter-in-law, Kathryn, June Marie Buckner and son-in-law, Jay, all of Shawnee; Marilyn Sue Longden and son-in-law, Mike of Potwin, Kan.; two brothers, William Switch and sister-in-law, Oma of Shawnee, and Herbert Switch of Midwest City; 23 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and friends.

Family will greet friends 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. today at the Funeral Home.

Service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Walker Funeral Service Chapel with the Rev. Wayne Sloan and the Rev. Victor Cope officiating. Burial will follow at Johnson Cemetery.

Beverly Ann Murray
Konawa resident Beverly Ann Murray 75, died Friday, Aug. 17, in Konawa.

Graveside service will be 11 a.m. today at Non Cemetery near Calvin, Okla., with Ron Stewart officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Konawa.

Adam Wayne Ashley
Harrah resident Adam Wayne Ashley, 24, died Saturday, Aug. 18, in Cushing.

A rosary and wake will be 6:40 p.m. today at the Asa Smith Memorial Chapel, Harrah. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Teresa Catholic Church, Harrah with Father James Mickus officiating. Burial will follow at St. Teresa Catholic Cemetery, Harrah.

Arrangements are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah.

Mary Elizabeth Emarthle Tanyan
Oklahoma City resident Mary Elizabeth Emarthle Tanyan, 56, died Sunday, Aug. 19, at Integris Southwest Medical Center in Oklahoma City.

Service will 10 a.m. Wednesday at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Konawa with Eastman Factor and Roy Huckeby officiating. Burial will follow at Little Cemetery in Seminole.

Arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Konawa.

Daniel Arthur Coscia
Tecumseh resident Daniel Arthur Coscia died Friday, Aug. 17, in Tecumseh at the age of 68.

The family will greet friends 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Walker Funeral Service Chapel with the Rev. Larry Sparks officiating. Burial will be at Forrest Hill Cemetery under the direction of Walker Funeral Service of Shawnee.

Carolyn Cox Adams
Chandler resident Carolyn Cox Adams died Saturday, Aug. 18, at the age of 86.

Graveside Service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Oak Park Cemetery in Chandler.

Service is under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler.

Margaret McDonald Scott
Longtime Barnegat, N.J., resident Margaret McDonald Scott, 82, died Thursday, Aug. 16, in Seminole.

Service will be 10 a.m. today at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Barnegat, N.J., with Father Ken Tuzenau officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Barnegat, N.J.

Arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole and Barnegat Funeral Home in Barnegat, N.J.

Kathy Ann McGinnis
Prague resident Kathy Ann McGinnis, 64, departed this life, Tuesday, Aug. 21, in Midwest City.

She was born Aug. 29, 1942, in Newport, Ark., to Marvin Dee and Myrtle Ann (Caughron) Hodges.

She graduated from Prague High School.

She married Thomas Patrick McGinnis on March 1, 1960, in Prague.

Kathy was a member of the First Baptist Church in Prague and was the Beta Sigma Phi Lady of the Year in 1988. She loved to read, listen to music, and was a generous contributor to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital. Kathy especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Cynthia Jane McGinnis; granddaughter, Anna Olivia Linn; one sister; brothers-in-law, Buck McGinnis, John McGinnis, and Don Ed Traywick; and sister-in-law, Willa Lou Guinn.

Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Pat McGinnis of the home; daughters and sons-in-law, Patti and Bob Reynolds of Prague, Susan and Michael Linn of Norman, Jeanne McGinnis of Prague; sisters and brothers-in-law, Millie and Richard Smith of California, Nancy and Randy Buckner of Enid; grandchildren, Sara, Sally, Abby, Aftahn, Luke, Jake, Addey, Matthew, Kyle, Chad, Candace; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Mary McGinnis, C.P. Guinn, Sam and Betty McGinnis, Richard and Imogene McGinnis, Marclyn McGinnis, and Nancy Traywick.

Family will receive friends 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Parks Brothers Funeral Service.

Service will be 2 p.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church in Prague with Bro. Tim Emmons officiating. Burial will follow at the Prague Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to: Memorial and Honor Program, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Daniel Arthur Coscia
Tecumseh resident Daniel Arthur Coscia, 68, died Friday, Aug. 17, in Tecumseh.

He was born Feb. 4, 1939, in New York, N.Y., to Carlo Anthony and Katherine (Scemica) Coscia.

Daniel graduated Kansas State University with a masters in Nutrition and a masters in Psychology and received a nursing degree from St. Francis.

He married Cathy Shoemaker in 1981 and then married Vicky Coscia in April 1990.

Daniel worked as a CRNA at OU Health Sciences Center with the Department of Anesthesiology. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of AANA.

He loved his animals and loved spending time with his family

Daniel was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, David Anthony Coscia.

Survivors include his wife, Vicky L. Coscia of the home; children, Meagan Leigh-Ann, Mariah Elizabeth, Joseph Jordan, and David Michael Coscia, all of the home; adult children, Carl, Lynn, and Valerie; aunts and uncles, Mary Theresa Coscia, Anthony Coscia, and Esther Serpe; mother-in-law, Marie Cunningham; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Amber and Alvin Cunningham; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Gina and Kevin Clair; ex-wife and long time friend, Cathy Shoemaker; nephews, Blaine and Cason Cunningham and Cody Clair; as well as many other loving relatives, friends and colleagues.

Service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Walker Funeral Service Chapel with the Rev. Larry Sparks officiating. Burial will be at Forrest Hill Cemetery, southeast of Tecumseh.

Francis E. Bowman
Shawnee resident Francis E. Bowman, 73, died Monday at a local hospital.

Service is pending and will be announced by Walker Funeral Service.

Patsy Elaine Smith
Seminole resident Patsy Elaine Smith, 61, died Sunday, Aug. 22, at a Wewoka nursing home.

Service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church in Frisco, Texas, with the Rev. Raymond Horne of Celina, Texas, officiating. Burial will be at Little Elm Cemetery in Frisco, Texas.

Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole is directing arrangements.
