Meggan Sierra Corbin
Shawnee resident Meggan Sierra Corbin, 15, died Wednesday, Aug. 22, at her residence.

She was born June 25, 1992, in Tishomingo to Shawn Preston Cooper and Donna Corbin.

She attended Shawnee High School and enjoyed poetry, singing and listening to music.

She is survived by her mother, Donna Corbin of the home; father, Shawn Cooper; brothers and sisters, Jackmond Gallina of Shawnee, Travis Cooper of Roff, Kyle Cooper of Tulsa, Chance Cooper of Jennings, Tamara Cooper of Lindsey; aunts and uncles, Sohalah Corbin, Melinda Corbin, Donald Corbin, A.J. Corbin; grandparents, Sandra Corbin and Alton Corbin Sr.

Graveside service will be 3:30 p.m. Monday at Fairview Cemetery with Bro. Bill Matthews and Bro. Phil Thompson officiating.

Richard M. Smith
Richard M. Smith, 72, passed Wednesday, June 27, from a courageous two and a half year battle with lung cancer.

He was born 1934 in Shawnee to Melvin and Mayme Smith.

Richard graduated from Shawnee High School where he was the drum major for two years. He was a graduate of Oklahoma Baptist University.

Richard worked as a manager in the aerospace industry. He also was a musician, comedian and actor. Richard especially loved washing his car every day!

Preceding him in death were his parents and his daughter, Lauren Kindler.

Survivors include his wife, Ann; son, Steven Smith of Tucson, Ariz.; daughter, Sandra Lang of Tucson; grandchildren, Lynsey and Dustin Kindler of Tucson and Cassidy and Shawnee Lang of Los Angles, Calif.; brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Barbara Smith of Shawnee; and many relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Oct. 6, in Tucson, Ariz.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Richard's name to the American Cancer Society or charity of your choice.

Edna Mae Higgs
Edna Mae Higgs died Thursday in her Shawnee home. She was 78.

She was born on March 15, 1922, to Charles Jackson and Rebecca Elizabeth (Hamilton) Helton in Omega Community, Okla.

She graduated from Shawnee High School and w as a homemaker. On Aug. 10, 1941, she married George Edwin Higgs in Rockwell, Texas. She was a member of the Calvary Full Gospel Church in Tecumseh, where she was the Sunday school teacher and church secretary for 25 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant son Donley Higgs and two infant brothers.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Larry Edwin and Wailene Higgs of Tecumseh, one grandson, Larry Charles Higgs of Prague, one granddaughter, Rebecca Ann Dodson of Tecumseh, four great-grandsons, one brother and sister-in-law, Charles Jr. and Carol Sue Helton of Shawnee, one sister and brother-in-law, Virgie Cloe and Virgil Reichert of El Reno, several other relatives and friends.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in the Gaskill-Owens Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Art Coffey will officiate, with burial in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Oklahoma City.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Shawnee, 1102 W. MacArthur, Shawnee.

Franklin Gray
Franklin Gray of Shawnee died Friday at a local hospital. He was 82.

He was born Oct. 1, 1917, in Shawnee. He was the son of Charles and Ida Gray.

He was raised in Shawnee. He was a farmer.

He married Leta Sanford on March 4, 1947, in Shawnee. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was a member of Fairview Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon; lifelong member of the American Legion; member of Disabled American Veterans; Disabled Blind Center; Gideons.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Leta Gray of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Lillian Gray, Ada; four grandchildren, Larry Gray, Steve Gray, Ronnie Gray and Mike Gray all of Shawnee; five stepchildren, seven great-grandchildren, one great-grandson, one brother, Neal Gray, Shawnee; one sister, June Schmidlkofer, Tecumseh and a number of nieces and nephews.

Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Fairview Baptist Church with Richard Stillwell officiating. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Park, under the direction of Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel.

Daniel Joseph Wallace
Daniel Joseph Wallace was stillborn Thursday in an Oklahoma City hospital.

Daniel was the son of Mark and Chris (Allen) Wallace of Shawnee.

Mark Wallace is a captain with the Shawnee Fire Department, and Chris Wallace works as a receptionist at a BancFirst in Oklahoma City.

Daniel is survived by his parents; a sister, Gabby LaFerr, of the home; grandparents, Charles Allen, McLoud; Gladys Sloan, Oklahoma City; and Anna Wallace, Shawnee; great-grandmothers, Daphine Allen, St Louis; and Edith Wallace, Yukon; and many other relatives.

Private services are scheduled under the direction of Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel of Shawnee.

Walter Barton Walker
Walter Barton Walker, 69, Bowlegs, died Friday in an Oklahoma City nursing home.

He was born on June 17, 1932, in San Bernardino, Calif., to Walter and May Ruth (Boyd) Walker. He moved from Colton, Calif., to Bowlegs 10 years ago. He married Ola McBroom and worked as a truck driver. He also worked in the aircraft industry.

Walker served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bowlegs, Eagles 506 of San Bernardino and the American Legion of Seminole.

Survivors include his wife of the home, two daughters, Lynette Hager of San Bernardino, Calif., and Michella Halborn of San Bernardino, Calif., two stepdaughters, Barbara Iser of Noble and Kathy Meshew of Wewoka, three stepsons, James Brown and Thomas Brown, both of Wewoka, and Johnnie Brown of the home, one brother, Johnnie Walker of Swartzcreek, Mich., 16 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church in Bowlegs. The Rev. Rick Harrison will officiate under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.

Ron Dale Heath
Ron Dale Heath died Wednesday in Norman. He was 48.

He was born on Nov. 5, 1951, in Holdenville to Bill and Wilma Nicar Heath. He was raised in Wetumka and Holdenville, where he attended school until the ninth grade.

He later moved to Nowata and graduated in 1970. He attended the University of Oklahoma and was a trumpet player for The Pride of Oklahoma band. He married Geralyn Marie Mock in 1976. He was a dual member of the Meeker and Holdenville Masonic Lodges; he was also a member of the OU Band Alumni Association.

He was preceded in death by his wife in 1985, sister Rebecca Lynn Heath in 1962, and both his maternal and paternal grandparents.

Survivors include one son, Christopher Dale Heath of Meeker, his parents, two sisters, Ramona and husband Harold Rowland of Bartlesville and Rita Heath of Oklahoma City, one brother, William E. Heath and wife Sherri of Siganelli, NAS-Sicily, Italy, and many other relatives.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the First United Methodist Church of Meeker. Burial will be at 2 p.m. in the Holdenville Cemetery under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Meeker.

Clarence Winn
Clarence "Abe" Winn, Seminole, died Friday at a Midwest City hospital. He was 64.

He was born on Oct. 19. 1935, in Seminole to Clarence Arthur and Mary Ann (White) Winn. He married Juanita (Mann) Winn on Dec. 6, 1960 in Columbus, Ohio. He owned and operated Abe's Planting in Tulsa before retiring in 1989. He returned to Seminole seven years ago.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, four brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include one son, Randy Winn of Tulsa, one daughter, Mary Payne of Konawa, three brothers, Wayne Winn and Ben Winn, both of Seminole, and J.D. Winn of Branch, Mo., sisters Zelda Stewart of Midwest City, Colleen Ess of Dalton, Mo., Madge Riddle of Independence, Mo., and Mary Ann Collier of Paden, and five grandchildren.

Services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Monday in the Swearingen Chapel. The Rev. JoAnn Pritchett, assisted by Walter Lamb, will officiate under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Little.

Dexter Page
Meeker resident Dexter Page died Thursday in an Oklahoma City hospital. He was 89.

Page was born March 12, 1911, in Crabtree, Ark., the son of Floyd Hatfield and Rutha (Denny) Page.

He was a rancher, and a member of View of the Cross Baptist Church in Prague.

He lived in Seminole and the Shawnee area for most of his life.

Survivors include his two sons and daughters-in-law, Paul and Sharon Page, Cactus, Texas; Carl and Judy Page, Edmond; a daughter and son-in-law, Patty and Danny Dunagan, McLoud; brother and sister-in-law, Arvel and Dorothy Page, Midwest City; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Algia Fawcett, Prague; and Lucille and Marvin Good, Prague; six grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; and many other relatives.

Viewing will be until 1:50 p.m. Monday, at Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Waldo Young officiating. Burial will be in Garden Grove Cemetery.

Daniel Joseph Wallace
Daniel Joseph Wallace was stillborn Thursday in an Oklahoma City hospital.
