Lena Virginia (Addington) Crabtree
Shawnee resident Lena Virginia (Addington) Crabtree, 91, passed away Saturday, Aug. 25, at a local nursing home.

She was born Dec. 29, 1915, in Jennings to Lawrence Wellington and Laura Justice Addington.

She graduated from Shawnee High School in 1933 and then attended Cheatham Business College.

She married Roy Crabtree June 15, 1946, in Shawnee. He preceded her in death Feb. 25, 1995.

She was a homemaker and wonderful mother. She attended The First Church of The Nazarene from 1955 until ill health prevented her attendance. She worked on the ration board at Tinker Air Force Base during World War ll.

Also preceding her in death were her parents; brothers, Votra, LeRoy and Charles Addington; sisters, Ruby Addington, Elizabeth Whitfield and Juanita Dodd; and a grandson, David Scott Fuller.

Survivors include daughter's and son-in-law, Jacquetta and David Fuller and Gwendolyn Woods; grandchildren, Alisa and Randy Ross, Tara and Donnie Smith, and Jeffrey Woods; great-grandchildren, Tracy, Scotty and Scottlyn Fuller, Devin and Kara Ross, Andrew, Emily and Trinity Smith; sister and brother-in-law, Glatis and Gene Gierhart; and many nieces and nephews.

Service will be 4 p.m. Wednesday at The First Church of The Nazarene with the Rev. Johnny Stephens officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery.

Olive Lorene Bogenreif
Paden resident Olive Lorene Bogenreif, 90, died Wednesday, Aug. 25, at her residence.

She was born April 26, 1914, in Paden to James Samuel and Nancy Melville (Johnson) Newton.

She retired from The Emporium in San Francisco, Calif., where she worked as a seamstress.

She married George Joy Bogenreif on May 13, 1943, in Sacramento, Calif. He preceded her in death in 1995.

She also was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, John David Newton and William Elliott Newton.

Survivors include brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles D. and Jimmie Newton of Bethel Acres; Lynuel and Harriett Newton of Hot Springs, Ark.; sisters and brothers-in-law, Goldie Ellen and Art Montgomery of Auburn, Calif.; Norma Lee and Van L. Officer of Oklahoma City; nieces and nephews, Larry Don Watts, Nathan Watts, Linda Charlene Dawson, Judy Carol Ramsey, Sharon Sue Moore, Nancy Mary Iven, Ronald E. Officer, Wretha Lynn Joiner, Cheryle Ann George, Aneta Sue Newton and Karen Gwynn Davenport, and many other relatives.

Service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Prague with the Rev. Paul Heard officiating.

Burial will be at Oakdale Cemetery in Paden.

Kyle Lawrence Giddens
Macomb resident Kyle Lawrence Giddens, 21, died Saturday, August 25, in Macomb.

Service will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Cooper Funeral Chapel.

Further arrangements will be announced by Cooper Funeral Home, Tecumseh.

Naomi M. Stevens
Naomi M. Stevens, 91, of Tecumseh died Wednesday.

She was born April 2, 1911, in Denison, Texas, to Edward Terry and Alice (Stone) Carter.

She had lived in Bethel for many years before moving to Tecumseh in 1989.

She married William K. Stevens in Oakland, Calif., in 1942. He preceded her in death on Sept. 5, 1979.

She was a homemaker.

She was also preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Harold Carter.

Survivors include her stepdaughter and spouse, Pat and Herb Yones of Tecumseh; one brother and sister-in-law, Glenn and Charlotte Carter of Sedalia, Mo.; three stepgrandchildren and their spouses, Mike and Karen Yones of Oklahoma City, Kim and Jim Rayburn of Oklahoma City and Joe and Sally Yones of Prague; six great-grandchildren; four nieces and one nephews.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Brown Cemetery with the Rev. Robert Rider and the Rev. Chad Brodrick officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.

Wallie Donahoo Jr.
Wallie Donahoo Jr., 75, of San Jose, Calif., died Thursday, Aug. 22, in San Jose.

He was born Aug. 8, 1927, in Shawnee, the son of Wallie and Ora Belle (Parks) Donahoo.

Donahoo was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Navy.

He was a member of the American Legion Post in San Jose.

Donahoo owned Fonda's Shoes.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Earl and Gilbert.

Survivors include his daughter, Rebecca Burke of Lincoln, Calif.; a sister, Betty Jo Williams of Tulsa; a brother, Bert Donahoo of Albuquerque, N.M.; two grandchildren, Casey and Bobbie; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be 10 a.m. Friday at Fairview Cemetery, with the Rev. J.C. Farrand officiating.

Arrangements are being handled by Gaskill-Owens Funeral Chapel.

Chrystal Janelle Dunn
Chrystal Janelle Dunn, 32, Talihina, died Aug. 24.

Surviving are three sons, Derrick Jones, DeMontre Jones and Roger Jones, all of Talihina; father, Reuben Dunn Sr., Oklahoma City; her mother, Geraldine Harjo Dunn, Shawnee; four brothers, Daniel Dorsey, Shawnee, Christopher Adkins, Miami, William Marlow, Oklahoma City, and Reuben Dunn Jr. of Shawnee; three sisters, Christine Blaylock, Miami, Edith Scott, Iowa, and DeWanda Marlow, McLoud; four aunts; four uncles; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Wake service will be 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Stout-Phillips Funeral Chapel in Wewoka. Burial will follow at Snake Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

Joseph Hinex Jr.
Joseph Hinex Jr., 68, of Earlsboro died Tuesday in Seminole.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph and Susie Hinex, III of Chushing and Curtis Dewayne and Carol Hinex of Shawnee; two daughters and one son-in-law, Ethel Hinex and Tonya and Michael Ford, all of Norman; five grandchildren; three brothers, Creataylor Hinex of Norman, George Hinex of Albuquerque, N.M, and Jon Hinex of Mountain View, Calif; four sisters, Pauline Winrow of Earlsboro, Joann Samilton of Tulsa, Wilma Neal of Anchorage, Alaska, and Willie Mae Stargell of Earlsboro; and five grandchildren.

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Galilee Baptist Church of Seminole with the Rev. Lorenzo Jacobs, the Rev. Larry Crawford and the Rev. Michael Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Earlsboro Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.

Stella Harjo
Lifelong Paden resident Stella Harjo, 84, died Aug. 27 in Seminole.

She was born July 16, 1919, in Paden, to George and Louise (Larney) McCuller.

She belonged to the Methodist faith.

She was married to J.B. Harjo, who preceded her in death in 1957.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister; two brothers; and one son, Herman Eugene Harjo.

She is survived by her brother, Clarence McCuller of Paden and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Prague with Paul Heard officiating. Burial will be in Prague Cemetery.

Lois Gwendolyn Testerman
Lois Gwendolyn Testerman of Shawnee died Aug. 27 in Shawnee at the age of 74.

She was born April 15, 1929, in Livingston, Tenn., to Elbert Shirley and Eula Mae (MacDonald) Norris.

She married Harvey Gene Testerman Feb. 28, 1953, in Angola, Ind.

Testerman also is preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Cindy Jean Testerman; and one brother, Russell Norris.

She is survived by two daughters, Jill and Debra Testerman of Shawnee; one brother, Leonard Norris of Battle Creek, Mich.; and one sister, Shirlene Stouten of Grand Rapids, Mich.

Graveside service will be 4 p.m. today at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Ardmore.

Arrangements are under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home in Ardmore.

Sammy John Pruitt
Sammy John Pruitt of Fairfield, Ill., died Thursday, Aug. 26, at his residence. He was 83 years old.

He was born Feb. 16, 1921, in Jasper, Ark., to William Allen Pruitt and Ora Frances (Harp) Pruitt.

He worked in construction as a heavy equipment operator.

He is survived by his wife, Mildred Pruitt, of the home; three sons, Sammie Pruitt of Fairfield, Johnnie Pruitt of New Baden, Ill., and Garrie Pruitt, and 10 grandchildren.

Service will be 2 p.m. today at Johnson Funeral Home in Fairfield. Burial will be Tuesday at Fairview Cemetery in Shawnee.

Local arrangements are under the direction of Gaskill Funeral Chapel.
