Sheila Sue Ellis
Former Shawnee resident Sheila Sue Ellis, 56, currently of Fountain, Colo., passed away Tuesday, Sept. 4.

She was born July 28, 1951.

Survivors include son, Scott Johnson and his wife, Tina, and their son, Alex, of Fountain, Colo.; daughter, Julie Hanson and her children, Austin and Savannah of Yukon; her mother, Betty Clark of Shawnee; brothers, Steve Davis and his wife, Karrie, and their children, April, Brett and Beau, Roy Condray his wife, Leanne, and their children, Haleigh and Hayden; sister, Betty Zumwalt and husband, Russell, and their children, Jana and Cody; and very dear friends Shirley Orr and Donna Lonon.

Service will be 1 p.m. Sunday at New Beginnings Church, Shawnee.

Warren H. Heatley

Shawnee resident Warren H. Heatley, 79, passed away Friday, Sept. 7, in Shawnee.

He was born June 16, 1928, in Econtuschka, Okla., to Henry and Mae Heatley.

He spent his childhood on a farm in Econtuschka, and attended school at Prairie Valley.

He married Alice "Snooky" Jones Sept. 3, 1949, in Prague.

He retired from Southwestern Bell after 38 years in 1986. After retiring, he served as Captain for the Pottawatomie County Sheriff's reserve with Sheriff and dear friend, Paul Abel. He then worked as an officer for the Tecumseh Police Dept.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Wynnewood, being baptized in February 2005.

He was a Mason for 55 years. He had a passion for gun collecting and hunting and was an excellent gunsmith. He was a member of the National Rifle Association, and former president of the Shawnee Rifle and Pistol Club. He was a member of the Telephone Company Pioneers and served as vice president and president of that organization.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Teresa Dale; sister, Marie Wilkins; half-sister, Helen Raper; and four half-brothers, George, Ed, Lester and Ervin Kruger.

Survivors include his wife, Alice "Snooky" Heatley of the home; son, Warren "Kip" Heatley of Wynnewood; three daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and Bob Graham of Stillwater, Molly and James Moody of Shawnee, and Patty and Don Davis of Shawnee; brother: "Bear" Heatley of Tecumseh; three grandchildren and their spouses, Brian and Sara Dale, Misty and Michael Roberson, and Jacob Davis; two great-grandchildren, Hayley Dale and Myca Roberson; and many friends and other family members.

Service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Cooper Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Warren "Kip" Heatley officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery.

John Henry Crane

Shawnee resident John Henry Crane, 88, passed away Thursday, Sept. 6, in a local nursing home.

He was born Oct. 10, 1918, in Tecumseh to Henry and Bessie Crane.

The Crane family moved to Earlsboro when John was just six weeks old where he remained on the family farm until the age of 80.

John attended Fairview Grade School and Earlsboro High School.

In March of 1941, John was drafted into the U.S. Army, where he would serve on the Pacific front and Korea until he returned home in November 1946.

He married Pauline Kottke Jan. 29, 1948, in the Fairview Church parsonage, in Earlsboro, and have since celebrated 59 years of marriage.

He farmed, raised cattle and retired from Tinker Field in 1980 after 16 years. He also pumped an oil well for Eason Oil Company for 27 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, James and Theodora Crane; and sister, Pearl Luckett.

He is survived by wife, Pauline Crane of the home; son, Carl Crane and wife Debbie of Earlsboro; daughter, Kathy Crane of Oklahoma City; sisters-in-laws, Yolanda Crane of Chico, Calif., Helen Elliott of Shawnee; Dorothy Mikish of Rogers, Ark.; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 1 p.m. until 8 p.m. today.

Service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Resthaven Funeral Chapel with Pastor Kay Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.

A special thanks is given to all the staff of Heartland Hospice.

Maurice F. Hall

Former Shawnee resident Maurice F. Hall, 92, passed away Saturday, Sept. 8, at Norman Veterans Center.

He was born Dec. 11, 1914, in Shawnee, to William J. Hall and Katherine (Morris) Hall.

He was in the U.S. Army 45th Division from 1943 until 1945, landed at Sicily, Italy, then marched on to France and Germany.

He worked as a truck driver for a Produce Company from 1946 until 1949 in Shawnee, drove for Conoco Oil for 23 years then was a Deputy Sheriff for three years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three wives, Florene, Helen and Marie; and six brothers, Mike, Joe, George, Robert, Edward, and Thomas Hall.

Survivors include three nieces and six nephews.

A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be made to Alleve Hospice, 8524 S. Western Suite 105, Oklahoma City, OK 73103.

Lindsey Jean Steward
Shawnee resident Lindsey Jean Steward, 27, passed from this life peacefully Sunday, Sept. 9, at her home with her family by her side.

She was born Aug. 5, 1980, to Dr. Scott and Nancy Steward.

Lindsey was baptized in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ at the age of 18 at First Christian Church in Shawnee.

Lindsey graduated from Shawnee High School in 1998, following graduation she received her cosmetology license in Texas, she also attended 2 years of college at Seminole State College and Oklahoma State University.

Lindsey was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and loyal friend.

Lindsey was preceded in death by her father Clarence "Scott" Steward; uncle, Stacy Steward; grandmother, Jean Stubbs; and grandfather, Clarence W. Steward.

She is survived by her mother, Nancy Steward of the home; brother, Greg; sister-in-law, Stephanie and niece, Stevie Jean Steward of Edmond, niece, Alexandria Moos of OSU Stillwater; aunt, Shirley Stubbs of Shawnee; grandfather, Connie Mack Stubbs of Shawnee; grandparents, Betty and Bud Lowry of Mission, Texas; aunt, Peg Nally and cousins, Kelsey and Megan Steward of Garden City, Kans.; uncle, Bruce; aunt, Abby and cousin, Russell Steward of Overland Park, Kans.; cousins, Ric, Sheri, Summer and Nicolas Moran of Shawnee, Kari and Erik Gowland and Catie Williams of Florida, Oliver, Lucky, Pebbles and Kitty of the home; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Many thanks to all the loving and caring people of Crossroads Hospice and the services of Stewart's Home Care especially the long hours lovingly devoted by Glenda Ellison and Jane Pyle.

Service will be 4 p.m. today at Walker Funeral Service. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park, Shawnee.

There will be no hosted gathering at the family's home following services.

Louisiana Palmer
Midwest City resident Louisiana Palmer, 73, died Thursday Sept. 6.

Service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church in Asher. Burial will be at Vista Cemetery under the direction of Bill Eisenhouse S.E., Oklahoma City.

Janet Ruth Breedlove
Oklahoma City resident Janet Ruth Breedlove, 60, died Sunday, Sept. 9, in an Oklahoma City hospital.

No services are scheduled at this time. Cremation is under the direction of Walker Funeral Service, Shawnee

Warren H. Heatley
Shawnee resident Warren H. Heatley died Friday, Sept. 7, in Shawnee at the age of 79.

Service will be 10 a.m. today at Cooper Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Warren "Kip" Heatley officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.

Alexis Flair Skalla
Alexis Flair Skalla, infant daughter of Elizabeth Cowen and Edwin Joseph Ramsey Skalla II, died Friday, Sept. 7, in Gulfport, Miss., at the age of nine months.

Service will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Tom Washburn officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.
