Rosa Sprinkles
Former Shawnee resident Rosa Sprinkles, 91, of Oklahoma City, died Thursday, Sept. 30, in Oklahoma City.

She was born July 18, 1913, in Rocky to William and Anna Bellah.

She was a homemaker

She married Frank Arlus Sprinkles in 1934 in the Cordell community. He preceded her in death Dec. 18, 1971.

She was a member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church.

She moved to Shawnee with her husband in 1955.

Also preceding her in death were two sons, Cleo L. Sprinkles and Arlus Sprinkles; two daughters, Pearl Smith and Wilma Sprinkles; an infant daughter, Joyce Nadine Sprinkles and an infant great-granddaughter, Morgan Mazza.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Sonny and Tina Sprinkles of Fairfield, Calif.; daughters and sons-in-law, Lenora and Carl Bain of Dumas, Texas, Wanda and Jack Erb of Oklahoma City and Dorothy Whitehead of Nicoma Park; a daughter-in-law, Mary Sprinkles of Nicoma Park; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Service will be 10 a.m. Monday at the chapel of Walker Funeral Service with the Rev. Leon McDowell of Oklahoma City, assisted by the Rev. John Bellah of Del City. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Walker Funeral Service.

Sharon Lynn Dye Johnson
Former Seminole resident Sharon Lynn Dye Johnson, 66, died Tuesday, Sept. 28, in Tomball, Texas.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.

Service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist church in Seminole.

Burial will follow at the Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Seminole.

Helen Spoon
Helen Spoon, 65, of Shawnee, died Saturday, Oct. 2, in Shawnee.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Cooper Funeral Home. Memorial service will be in Iberia, Mo., at a later date. Other information is pending and will be released by Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.

Margie C. Bath
Margie C. (Clagg) Bath, 65, of Shawnee died Tuesday, Sept. 28, in Midwest City.

She was born Jan. 24, 1939, in Seminole to Noah Lee and Ola (King) Clagg.

Bath was a graduate of Seminole High School.

She worked with Sears and Wal-Mart in retail sales for more than 30 years.

On June 19, 1962, she married John R. Bath.

Bath was a member of St. Benedict Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Richard W. Bath.

Survivors include her husband, John R. Bath, of the home; son, James D. Bath of Pacific, Calif.; brothers, Raymond Clagg of Shawnee and Harold Clagg of Newalla, sisters, Berchie Button of Shawnee and Wynema Anderson of Seminole; and a grandchild, Alexander Bath of Shawnee.

A memorial Mass will be noon Monday at St. Benedict Catholic Church with the Rev. Maurus Jaeb, O.S.B., officiating. Burial will follow at Little Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.

Brian Anthony Barron
Brian Anthony Barron left to be with his Lord and loved ones Monday, Oct. 1.

Brian was born April 24, 1973, in Springdale, Ark.

His family moved to Oklahoma where Brian graduated Valedictorian from McLoud High School in 1991. He attended The University of Oklahoma obtaining a Mechanical Engineering Degree and participating in student government and other student activities.

Brian thoroughly enjoyed his challenging career in Engineering, working at Delta Faucet, General Motors and York International.

Brian had a zest for enjoying life. Brian was deliberate and dedicated in everything he did. He was passionate about many outdoor activities, but especially enjoyed mountain bike riding, hiking, camping, water sports and spending time with friends and family on travel excursions and outings. He was an avid OU fan, and particularly fond of OU football with perennial season tickets and autographs of his favorite players over the years. His favorite pastime, however, was always to be with his family and many friends.

Brian was a special person not only to his family but to all those who know him and the great joy and strengths he shared with all those who were part of his life.

Brian was a beloved son, brother, uncle, grandson and friend to many; a ray of sunshine in the lives of many. Sadly, Brian was diagnosed five years ago with cancer, but in true Brian spirit he never complained or even asked "Why me". He just faced it head on. Unfortunately, he lost his battle Monday, Oct. 1, 2007. He will be missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents and his maternal grandfather.

Brian is survived by his parents, Tom and Jolene Barron of Harrah; two brothers, Craig Barron and wife, Kristal, and daughters, Skyler and Morgan of Harrah, Todd Barron and wife, Jessica, of McLoud; his maternal grandmother, Minnie Burrell of Lowell, Ark.; and numerous aunts, uncles and other relatives, and friends.

However as is the case with all loved ones, they are never really gone as long as someone thinks of them. Brian will live forever in the hearts and minds of his family and friends.

Visitation for Brian will be 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today with the family present to greet friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the Hibbs Funeral Home in Choctaw. Burial will follow at Memory Lane Cemetery in Harrah.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hibbs Funeral Home, Choctaw.

Lois Velma (Sapp) Jenkins
Former Seminole resident Lois Velma (Sapp) Jenkins died Monday, Oct. 1, in Heritage Villa Nursing Center in Bartlesville at the age of 94.

Service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the Church of Christ, Little, with Rusty Dawson officiating. Burial will follow at Little Cemetery, Seminole.

Arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.

Mildred Diaz
Bowlegs resident Mildred Gofosky Diaz, 81, formerly of Willet, N.Y., died Thursday, Jan. 3, 2008, at a Seminole Hospital,

Service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Swearingen Funeral Chapel.

Graveside service will be held in New York. Mildred will be laid to rest next to her husband in Willet, New York.

Service is under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home.

Elma Bell Lambert
Meeker resident Elma Bell Lambert, formerly of Shawnee, died Monday, Dec. 31, 2007, at the age of 98.

She was born May 18, 1909, in Clarksville, Ark., to W.T. and Dora Bell (Self) Qualls. She was reared in Wister. Elma came to Shawnee with her family and had lived in Shawnee since the 1930's until recently moving to Meeker.

On Oct. 15, 1927, she married Louie Lambert in McLoud. He preceded her in death in 1978.

She was a homemaker and was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Shawnee.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a son, Wayne Lambert; sister, Thelma Neal; and brothers, Otis, Orbie, Homer and William L. Qualls.

Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Wanda Lambert of Tulsa; grandchildren and spouses, Bruce and Denise Lambert of Round Rock, Texas, Paula and Dale Flowers of Meeker, Keith and Robin Lambert of Seminole, and Brian Lambert and finance, Gail Masters, of Owasso; brother, Willard Qualls of Shawnee; many great and great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, at Resthaven Memorial Park with Darrell Witten officiating.

Shirley (Plemons) Holcomb
McLoud resident Shirley (Plemons) Holcomb, 73, died Thursday, Jan. 3, 2008, in McLoud.

Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 7, at Dale Cemetery with Donnie Bond officiating, under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.

Anne Blair
Shawnee resident Anne Blair, 40, passed away Saturday, Dec. 29, 2007, from injuries suffered in a car accident in Amarillo, Texas the same day.

She was born Oct. 23, 1967, in Alberta, Canada to Kay and Robert Scholl. She moved to Amarillo at an early age and graduated from Amarillo High School.

Anne earned bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Oklahoma. While attending the University of Oklahoma, she was a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority.

She married Dr. Greg Blair on June 29, 1991, and they had three daughters.

Anne was a licensed real estate agent with Prudential Carolyn Harris Realty in Shawnee and was pursuing her GRI. She had served as food coordinator for the Kid Space project when it was built, she was a Brownie Troop leader for six years, she played competitive tennis and she loved horses. Recently, she competed in her first marathon in Dallas, Texas.

She was able to be an organ donor.

Her mother Kay Scholl preceded her in death.

Survivors include her three daughters, Catherine Blair, Alex Blair and Erin Blair, all of the home; her father and stepmother, Robert and Joanna Scholl, Amarillo; her sister and brother-in-law, Jamie and Marcus Fry, Austin, Texas; one nephew and one niece.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Immanuel Baptist Church in Shawnee. Officiating will be Kris Steele, associate pastor of Wesley United Methodist Church and Dr. Todd Fisher, senior pastor of Immanuel Baptist Church.
