Lucy Irene Setien
Cushing resident Lucy Irene (Delaware) Setien died Thursday, July 5, in Cushing at the age of 66.

Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Stroud Cemetery with the Rev. Tom Morris officiating.

Service is under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Stroud.

Linda Diane Bridge
Del City resident Linda Diane Bridge died Thursday, July 5, at the age of 60.

Service will be 10 a.m. Monday at Southside Assembly of God Church, Oklahoma City, under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service, Chandler.

Charlie Vernon Stroud
Charlie Vernon Stroud, 90, died Friday.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia, of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Ken and Carol Stroud of Harrah; daughter and son-in-law, Elaine and L.L. (Lee) Payne Jr. of Moore; a brother, J.L. Stroud; a sister, Buenos Webb; four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several other relatives and friends.

Services are 1 p.m. Monday at Capitol Hill Assembly of God in Oklahoma City. Burial follows at 3 p.m. in Tecumseh Cemetery.

Services are under the direction of Vondel L. Smith & Sons Mortuaries.

Blanche Parsons Lanier
Blanche Parsons Lanier, 87, died Friday at her home.

She was born Sept. 10, 1914, in Bethel, the oldest of four children of Joe and Nettie Parsons.

Lanier graduated from Bethel High School in 1932. She lived most of her life in Pottawatomie County. She married Jonas Dallas Lanier on Feb. 1, 1940. She earned a bachelor's degree from East Central State College and was a 30-year educator, retiring in 1980. She taught math at Horace Mann Elementary School for many years and was active in local and national teacher organizations.

Following retirement, she continued to be active in several local and state organizations. She served as a Silver-Haired Legislator. She received the George F. Hixson Award from Diamond K, and was a charter member of the Shawnee Diamond K. She was a member of the retired teachers association Alpha Delta Kappa, Yarn & Darn and the American Association of Retired Persons.

She served on the advisory council of the Central Oklahoma Economic Development District and was a Salvation Army bell ringer at Christmas. She was an active Pottawatomie County Democrat.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and a brother, Alfred M. Parsons.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Bobby D. and Karen Duvall Lanier of Midland, Texas; a brother and sister-in-law, L.D. and Barbara Parsons of Waco, Texas; a sister and brother-in-law, Betty Jo and Bill McClure of Shawnee; a sister-in-law, Vera Mae Parsons of Shawnee; in-laws, Ruby Lee and Quentin Coker of Oklahoma City, Lois and Leon Lanier, and Lester and Agatha Lanier, all of Shawnee, and Buzz and Donna Lanier of Oklahoma City; granddaughter, Whitney B. Lanier of Midland, Texas; and many other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Monday at Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel with the Rev. J.C. Farrand officiating.

Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society.

Arrangements are being handled by Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel.

Mary Etta Nee Smith
Stroud resident Mary Etta Nee Smith died Tuesday, July 3, in Stroud at the age of 79.

Visitation will b 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday and 8 a.m. to noon Monday at Parks Brothers Chapel.

Service will be 3 p.m. Monday at Methodist Church, Stroud, with the Rev. Joe Milencupp officiating. Burial will be at Stroud Cemetery under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Services, Stroud.

Reva Janell Mason
Longtime Chandler resident Reva Janell Mason, 65, departed this life on Sunday, July 1, at her home in Chandler.

Janell was born Jan. 17, 1942, in Sparks, Okla., to Arthur and Bessie (Wells) Johnson.

She worked as a dietician and attended the Assembly of God Church in Chandler.

Her parents, husband, David Mason, and three sisters preceded Janell in death.

Survivors include one brother, Arthur Johnson of Oklahoma City; four sisters, Nora Litle of Oklahoma City, Ethel Thompson of Wiggins, Colo., Ida Winsworth of Colleyville, Texas, and Geneva Stevens of Chandler; other relatives and many friends.

Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the White Dove Cemetery in Sparks with the Rev. Doyle Seeley officiating.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

JoAnn (Weaver) Kubiak
Shawnee resident JoAnn (Weaver) Kubiak died on Wednesday, July 4, at the age of 74.

She was born on Jan.17, 1933, at the Hogue homestead in Tecumseh to Lora Pauline Stevens and Joe Weaver. She attended Tecumseh and McLoud schools.

She married Al M. Smith and had four daughters. Later she married Fred "Pee Wee" Kubiak and had one daughter. She enjoyed being a homemaker.

She joins in heaven, her parents; her husband; her oldest daughter, Judy Arthur; one brother, Vernon Sweaney; one sister, Dorothy Penseneau; her maternal grandparents, Texas Jo and Cora Myrtle Stevens.

JoAnn is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa and Jim Martin of Shawnee, Sherri and Carl Straka of Harrah, Terri Lucy of McLoud and Carla Colwell of McLoud; 12 grandchildren, Stephanie Branch and husband, Freddie, Sterling Arthur, Bradley Arthur, Summer Yort and husband Brian, Jaime Reynolds and husband Matt, Logan Martin, Anthony Lucy, Danielle (Lucy) Williams, Brandi McGeehee, Season Straka, Corey Colwell and Dylan Colwell; seven great-grandchildren and one on the way; sister, Shirley Seaborn and beloved aunt, Frances Farris; numerous nieces and nephews as well as many other loving relatives and friends.

Service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Walker Funeral Service Chapel with the Rev. Larry Sparks officiating.

Helen B. Bromilow
Helen B. Bromilow, 85, of Earlsboro died Saturday at her residence. Arrangements are pending with Resthaven Funeral Home.

Paul E. Schmidlkofer
Tecumseh resident Paul E. Schmidlkofer, 76, died Thursday at Norman Regional Hospital.

Rosary will be 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel and funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Benedict's Catholic Church.

Claid Drew Bales
Meeker area resident Claid Drew Bales, 51, died Thursday.

Survivors include his wife, Helen Ruth Bales of Meeker; a son, Howard Davis of Meeker; daughters and sons-in-law, Sherrie and Keith Riley of Earlsboro, Shawntell and Johnny Weems of Texas; a brother, Steve Ernest Bales of Tulsa; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Judy Bales, Elizabeth and Howard Stanley, Susan Bales, all of Tulsa, and seven grandchildren.

A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Tecumseh Cemetery with the Rev. Mike McCauley officiating. Services are under the direction Parks Brothers Funeral Service of Prague.

Quinton George Kneisel
Longtime Shawnee resident Quinton George Kneisel, 78, died Friday at a Shawnee hospital.

He was born Feb. 5, 1925, in Pottawatomie County. At the age of 9, he was converted and baptized into the membership of Fairview Baptist Church. Kneisel was educated at Prairie Valley High School and graduated in Richmond, Calif.

He married Peggy Christian on March 29, 1955.

During the 1950s, Kneisel was manager of the Top Hat Drive In and was the first manager of Sonic in Shawnee. For the past 40 years, he has owned and operated George's Auto Air Conditioning Service with his son, Michael.

Kneisel was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Dena Kneisel.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Peggy Kneisel; daughter, Rosalind Vilardo of Little Rock, Ark.; son and daughter-in-law, Johnny and Shirley Kneisel of Shawnee; daughters and sons-in-law, Leitha and Jack Cantrell of Shawnee, Keitha and Richard Wilmeth of Chickasha; a son, Michael Kneisel of Shawnee; brothers and sisters-in-law, Edgar and Mary of Catistoga, Calif., Harvey and Charlene of Houston, Texas; nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and many other relatives.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Fairview Baptist Church with the Rev. Harvey Kneisel and the Rev. Richard Gay officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home. The family will greet friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Zeda Brendle
Tecumseh resident Zeda (Holstein) Brendle died Saturday at the age of 79.

She was born July 7, 1923, in the community of OK to Thad "T.K." and Malinda (Wilcox) Holstein. She was a graduate of Macomb High School.

She married Ralph Brendle, June 30, 1950, in Pink. He preceded her in death July 13, 1986. She lived in Norman and had lived in Tecumseh since 1992.

Brendle worked as a nurses' aide at Tecumseh Sunset Estates and Rosewood Manor of Norman. She worked at Douglas Aircraft during World War II. She also worked in the physical plant at the University of Oklahoma.

Also preceding her in death were two sisters, Mamie Boyd and Tressie Seaton; a brother, Eugene Holstein, and her parents.

Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Joe Gage of Tecumseh, Linda and Monte Edminsten of Little Axe; sisters and brothers-in-law, Marie West of Norman, Bessie and Dennis Phillips of Modesto, Calif., Vinita and Harland Kinsey of Tecumseh; five grandchildren, Rick Gage, Rusty Gage, Corrie Edminsten, Suzanne Edminsten and Chad Edminsten, two great-grandchildren and many other relatives.

Services are 10 a.m. Tuesday at Cooper Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard Boyanton officiating. Burial will follow at Brown Cemetery.

William O. Barton
William O. "Bill" Barton, 80, of Pampa, Texas, died Thursday in Amarillo.

Survivors include his wife, Geneva of the home; two sons, Larry Barton of Amarillo and Randal Barton of Piedmont, Okla.; one daughter, Joanie Lovelace of Mustang, Okla; one stepson, Robert Dalton of San Angelo, Texas; one stepdaughter, Pat Winkleblack of Pampa; two brothers, Russell Barton of Newalla, Okla., and Jim Barton of Newcastle, Okla.; one sister Mildred Capps of McLoud; five grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. today at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with the Rev. Don Larkin officiating. Burial will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Pilgrims Rest Cemetery in Newalla, Okla., under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Military rites will be courtesy of U.S. Army personnel from Fort Sill, Okla.

Memorials can be sent to Pampa Senior Citizens, 500 W. Francis St. Pampa, TX 79065.
