J.A. Riley
Longtime Seminole resident J.A. Riley died Thursday, June 28, in Shawnee at the age of 87.

Burial will be 10 a.m. Monday at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery in Oklahoma City. Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Monday at the Church of Christ in Seminole with Lyndal Werner and Barry Hubb officiating.

Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.

Supa Daughty
Supa Daughty born March 21, 1937, to Gee and Ce Tuppra Pai in Bangkok, Thailand, passed away Thursday, June 28, at 4 p.m.

She grew up in growing up in ChungBuri, Thailand.

She Married Mr. Chainurux leng, 1957, and he died in 1970. From this marriage came Monk, Leak, Thongchai, Sudai Chainurux.

March 11, 1974, Miss Supa Tuppra Pai married Thomas Daughty in Chomqbrui, Thailand.

In 1975 They moved to the United States of American living in Fairfield, Calif., and moved again in 1986 to McLoud. Of their marriage came Terry Daughty born in Thailand and growing up in California and Oklahoma.

Supa spent many hours at the Temple in Oklahoma City and made many friends in California and Oklahoma.

Leitha Viola Arms
Tecumseh resident Leitha Viola Arms, 102, died Thursday, June 28, at Shawnee Colonial Estates Nursing Home.

She was born March 10, 1905, in Hobart, Okla., to Julius and Rose (Cunningham) Boettler.

Leitha loved gardening, canning and sewing. She loved spending time with her family most of all.

She was preceded in death by her son, Ernest Arms; and all her siblings.

Survivors include her children, Juanita Riddle of Shawnee, Betty Young of Tecumseh, and Anna Nease of Shawnee; grandchildren, Dennis Arms, Rick Arms, David Young and Steve Young; numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Service will be 10 a.m. today at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at Bethel Cemetery.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the wonderful and caring staff of Heartland Hospice and Shawnee Colonial Estates Nursing Home.

Juanita Catherine Hopper
Maud resident Juanita Catherine (Slaybaugh) Hopper, 94, died Saturday at her home.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Church of God, Main Street and SH 9A in Maud. Burial will follow at Cummings Cemetery of Maud. Further information is pending with Knight-Swearingen Funeral Home.

Cameron Coleman
Cameron Coleman, 89, Prague, died Friday in Oklahoma City.

Services are pending and will be announced by Parks Brothers Funeral Service, Prague.

Lillie May Oldham
Shawnee resident Lillie May Oldham, 73, died Saturday at her residence.

She was born April 23, 1929, in Tecumseh to Steve and Annie (Johnson) Walker.

Oldham attended Tecumseh schools and was a homemaker.

She married John C. Oldham May 14, 1952.

Oldham was affiliated with the Church of Christ and did volunteer work in the schools. She was a lifelong resident of the area.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and 13 siblings.

Survivors include three sons, John Oldham and Steve Oldham, both of Shawnee, and Kenneth Oldham of Oklahoma City; a daughter and son-in-law, Martha and Bill Nelson of Ada; three granddaughters and a grandson-in-law, Sunny and Terry Swopes, Summer Nelson and Sky Nelson; and a great-grandson.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Gaskill-Owens Funeral Chapel with Bill Nelson officiating. Burial will follow at Tecumseh Cemetery.

Lee Spangler
Oklahoma City resident Lee Spangler, 81, died Thursday in Oklahoma City.

He was born Dec. 20, 1920, in Canute, Okla., to Eugene and Nora Spangler.

Spangler lived in Clinton before moving to Oklahoma City in the early 1950s.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and later worked as a fabricator.

Spangler was a member of Wilshire Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and three brothers.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Spangler of the home; four children and spouses, Doris and Keith Sparks of Port Huron, Mich., William and Margaret Spangler of Jeffersonville, Ind., Sandy and Ray Thaxton of Oklahoma City and Katie Spangler of the home; 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild, two brothers, Estel Spangler of Bravette, Ark., and Troy Spangler of Madera, Calif.; and a sister, Juanita Lynes of Ontario, Calif.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Cooper Funeral Chapel with Doug Arnold of the Wanette Church of Christ officiating. Burial will follow at Wanette Cemetery.

Donna Jean Griffith
Seminole resident Donna Jean Griffith, 57, died Wednesday, June 27, at Seminole Medical Center in Seminole.

No service is planned at this time under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.

Albert Blair
Chandler resident Albert Blair, 91, died Wednesday, June 27.

Graveside service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Oak Park Cemetery under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service, Chandler.

Mildred M. Jackson
Shawnee resident Mildred M. Jackson, 86, died Tuesday, June 26, in Shawnee.

She was born Oct. 14, 1920, to Lee and Mary Mercer in Avery, Okla., She had lived in Shawnee since 1942.

Mildred married Ray Jackson Oct. 3, 1942, in Stillwater and he died Feb. 28, 1983.

She attended school and graduated from Avery, Okla. and also attended L.P.N. Nursing School at the Shawnee City Hospital and was employed at the A.C.H. and later Shawnee Regional Hospital retiring in 1977 after 27 years.

She was a member of North Rock Creek Community Club and worked for Star Pharmacy, doing blood pressure work for 4 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter, two brothers, and two sisters.

Survivors include her sister-in-law, Elizabeth Marcer of Cushing and her close friend and caregiver, Rose Honeycutt of Shawnee.

Service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Walker Funeral Service Chapel with Darrel Whitten officiating. Burial will be at Tecumseh Cemetery.

William Monroe Byers
Akron, Ohio, resident William Monroe Byers and formerly of Shawnee, passed away Thursday, April 26, at a long-term care facility in Akron at the age of 80.

He was born on Jan. 13, 1927, in Shawnee. He attended Shawnee High School before enlisting in the U.S. Navy in 1944. Mr. Byers was a Chief hospital corpsman in the U.S. Navy and served his country for 21 years including deployment during the Korean War and World War II. In addition, he was a retired civil servant having worked for the District of Columbia Housing Division for 20 years where he developed their lead paint detection program for Section 8 housing. More recently, Mr. Byers served as a deacon for Springfield Fellowship Church in Akron, Ohio.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Margaret Nadine Byers; his children, William Monroe Byers Jr. of Texas and Margaret Susan Baitis of Virginia; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Friday at the Fairview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the American Cancer Society.

Hazel M. Kelough
Longtime Seminole resident Hazel M. Kelough, died Wednesday, June 27, at Pioneer Nursing Home at the age of 64.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Mickey Shaw officiating. Burial will follow at Little Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.
