Lucille Krause
Shawnee resident Lucille Krause, 84, died Monday, June 25, in Oklahoma City.

She was born Dec. 21, 1922, in Wewoka to Virgil and Lester (Pilgrim) McPherson.

Lucille graduated from Meeker High School (Valedictorian of her class).

She married the love of her life, Henry Krause, in Glendale, Calif., on on June 6, 1943. They celebrated 64 wonderful years of marriage together.

She was a homemaker and a member of the First Christian Church; the Cocker Spaniel Club of Central Oklahoma; Mid-Del Tinker Kennel Club; and a founding member of Seminole Kennel Club.

Lucille attended Oklahoma Baptit University. She loved to sew and was an avid flower gardener.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Waneetha "Nicie" Hart.

Survivors include her husband, Henry, of the home; daughter, DeLinda Garrett and husband, Frank, of Wills Point, Texas; grandchildren, Heather Garrett of Forney, Texas, John Garrett and wife, Holly, of Dublin, Calif., Matthew Garrett of Wills Point, Texas; great-grandchild, Kade Henry Garrett; brother, Harold McPherson; sisters, Nadine Dutton and Violet Barton; numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives and friends.

Service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Walker Funeral Service Chapel with the Rev. Milo Steffan officiating. Burial will be at Tecumseh Cemetery.

Claud Leon Weatherly
C.L "Jack" Weatherly, 84, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, June 26.

He was born on Dec. 28, 1922, in Fleetwood, Okla., to Claud Jefferson and Laura Lorene (Day) Weatherly.

He received a BS degree at Oklahoma City University after he was discharged from the U.S. Navy at the end of World War II. While in the Navy he served on the USS SC#669 in the 7th fleet in the Pacific Ocean.

On Aug. 3, 1946, he married Mary L. Henderson in Henrietta, Texas. Together in this wonderful union they shared more than 60 years and raised three children, Michael Rand, Billy Claud, and Craig Steven.

His career included working as a sales manager in the petroleum marketing business and fertilizer business.

Jack loved working at the Rock Creek Baptist Church where he served as a church teller, a trustee, an adult Men's Sunday school teacher, and provided research for the Rock Creek History Book. At home he enjoyed working on his family genealogy, and writing articles. Jack was a Master Mason of Shawnee Lodge AF & AM, and was active in Masonic work for 50 years. He was Past Master of Guymon, Okla., Lodge. He received an award from "Prevent Blindness Oklahoma" and was elected as Mr. Mason in 2001.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mildred Henderson, and beloved son, Craig Steven.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Weatherly; his son, Michael and his wife, Tina, and their children, Adam and Jacob, of Guthrie; his son, Bill and his wife, Kathy, and their children, Brannon and Keysha and Mike Hill, of Fort Worth, Texas; his brother and wife, Gene, and daughter, Mary Marie Weatherly, of Wichita, Kan.; brother-in-law, Ira Henderson of Newcastle; brother-in-law and wife, Jim and Ella Henderson of Shawnee; sister-in-law, Gladys Gamble of Moore, Ida Mae Peterson and Ruby Marshall of Ryan, Okla.

Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Walker Funeral Service.

Service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Walker Funeral Service, Shawnee.

The family requests in lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Angelic Family Hospice, 421 North Beard Street, or the Rock Creek Baptist Church building fund, 44900 Hardesty Road, Shawnee, Oklahoma 74801.

Charles Wayne Sturgis
Tecumseh resident Charles Wayne Sturgis, 68 died Monday, June 25, in Oklahoma City.

Arrangements are pending with Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh and will be announced.

Glenn Eugene Merriman
Holdenville resident Glenn Eugene Merriman, 87, died Sunday, June 24, at Holdenville General Hospital.

Graveside service will be 2 p.m. today at Bilbe Cemetery, Holdenville under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.

C.L. "Jack" Weatherly
Shawnee resident C.L. "Jack" Weatherly, 84, died Tuesday, June 26, at his residence.

Service will be 2 p.m. Friday at the Chapel of Walker Funeral Service.

Arrangements are under the direction of Walker Funeral Service.

Joe Edd Sharber
Vamoosa resident Joe Edd Sharber, 73, died Monday, June 25, at his home.

Service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Swearingen Funeral Chapel, Seminole with Michael Vallandingham officiating. Burial will follow at Vamoosa Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.

Edward Lee Bender
Edward Lee Bender, 57, passed away Monday, June 25, in Norman. He was a long time resident of Norman and the Little Axe area.
He was born on Oct. 15, 1949, to Lotman and Mary L. Bean Bender in Holdenville. He attended Norman High School and graduated in 1967.

Edward was a retired Vietnam Veteran Marine since 1993.

Edward was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Bender; his father, Lotman Bender and mother-in-law, Lucille Longhorn.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Longhorn Bender of the home; son, Jason Bender; daughters, Leah Bates, Lisa Botone and Leal Bender; brothers, Coleman Bender and Jonas Bender; sisters, Sherri Prevost and Cindy Scott and six grandchildren.

Service will be 1 p.m. today at Immanuel Baptist Church in Norman with Brother Bryce Scott officiating.

Services are under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman. After services, Ed will be moved to Shawnee Tribal grounds where he will be laid to rest at daybreak Thursday morning.

Ramsey Larney
Ramsey Larney, 56, of Meeker, died Friday, June 25, at Unity Health Center, North Campus.

A wake service will be 6 p.m. Monday at Swearingen Funeral Chapel in Seminole and funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel, with George Harjochee and Bob Kernall officiating. Burial will follow at Brown Cemetery in Seminole.

Robert Gerald Bailey, Camilla Pearl Bailey
Robert Gerald "Scruffy" Bailey, 56, and Camilla Pearl Bailey, 59, of Konawa, died Friday, June 25.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at the Church of Christ in Konawa, with Kevin Duck and Frank Brewer officiating. Burial will be at Vamoosa Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Pickard-Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa.

Leah Nora Penny
Leah Nora Penny, 95, of Anacortes, Wash., died Wednesday, June 23, in Anacortes.

She was born Dec. 24, 1908, west of Tecumseh, to William and Nora Martin.

She married Oather E. Penny in November 1930 and was a homemaker.

She had been a member of New Hope Baptist and Wallace Baptist and Blackburn Chapel Baptist churches. She taught Sunday school for nearly five years and served as the treasurer at Blackburn Chapel.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1992, sister, brother, and daughter, Margaret Smith.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Dorothy and Ben Short of Anacortes, Wash.; sons and daughters-in-law, Travis and Patricia Penny of Mesquite, Texas, and John Penny and Kristen Watts-Penny of San Mateo, Calif.; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

The family will be at Walker Funeral Service from 4 to 6 p.m. today to greet friends.

Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Tecumseh Cemetery.

Maurine Moore
Maurine Moore, 81, of Oklahoma City, died Friday, June 25, at her home.

She was born Sept. 11, 1922, in Lajunta, Colo., to Ed and Jennie (Shook) Allison. She attended Berlin, Merrit and Shawnee schools.

She married R.C. "Pete" Moore on Jan. 28, 1940, in Pampa, Texas, and was a homemaker. After their marriage, the couple settled in the Bethel area and moved to Shawnee in 1957.

She was a longtime member of Blackburn Chapel Baptist Church, Temple Baptist Church and Graceway Baptist Church.

She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and was a past matron.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, four brothers, and a grandson, Randolph James Jr.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Randy James of Oklahoma City; grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Tony Sr. and Lenora James of Oklahoma City; grandson, Chris James of Oklahoma City; four great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; a sister, Jorea Schwartz of Carnegie, and many other relatives.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Chapel of Walker Funeral Service, with the Rev. Mike Craig officiating, assisted by the Rev. Greg Kennan. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery.
