C.W. Annanders Sr.
C.W. Annanders Sr., 87, of Tecumseh died Saturday, Feb. 19.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Cooper Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Mars Hill Cemetery.

Further arrangements will be announced.

Lonnie Norman
Konawa resident Lonnie Norman, 59, died Friday, Feb. 18, at the Norman Veterans Center.

Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Oakwood Cemetery in Wewoka with the Rev. Drew Issacs officiating.

Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole is directing arrangements.

Lorene Johnson
Lorene Johnson, 66, of Oklahoma City died Friday, Feb. 18, in Oklahoma City.

Services are 2 p.m. Monday at Washington Cemetery with Seyed Atharinikrouh officiating. Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh is in charge of arrangements.

Amy Joyce Whitehead
Amy Joyce Whitehead, 78, of Shawnee died Wednesday, Feb. 16, at a local nursing home.

She was born Feb. 20, 1926, in Honolulu, Hawaii. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one grandson.

Survivors include five daughters, Gale York of San Francisco, Calif.; Shirley Kendrick of Denver, Colo.; Laura Johnston, Lisa Whitehead and Joyce Keen, all of Shawnee; three sons, John Troupe of Wellston, Raymond Willingham of Sulphur, Tommy Whitehead of Shawnee; one sister, Dreen Franklin of Nevada; 13 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and many other relatives.

Private services will be held in Hawaii. Arrangements are under the direction of Walker Funeral Home of Shawnee.

Margy Wynelle Ford
Margy Wynelle (Tucker) Ford, 81, died Friday, Feb. 18, at a local hospital.

She was born May 13, 1923, in Tea Cross, Okla., to James Quantrell and Carrie (Burt) Tucker.

She graduated from Hollis High School in 1942. She married W.H. "Bill" Ford Oct. 13, 1941, in Hollis and was a homemaker.

Ford was a member of Xi Alpha Xi, Beta Sigma Phi, in Shawnee.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and one son-in-law, Tommy D. Royal.

Survivors include one brother, Blaine Tucker of Hollis; three daughters, Gay Painter and her husband, Roger, of Desoto, Texas; Billie Royal and her fiancé, Dan Gibson, of Shawnee; Shelee Stewart and her husband, Don, of Edmond; one son, Jim Ford and his wife, Susan, of Prosper, Texas; grandsons and their wives, Trent and Cheri Painter of Plano, Texas; Brett and Lori Royal of Shawnee; W. Craig Everett of Edmond; granddaughters and their husbands, Traci and Sammy Wagner of Crockett, Texas; Carrie and Jason Pitts of Oklahoma City; Katie and Andy Landes of Shawnee; Kelee Everett of Wetumka; Jessica Ford and Hannah Ford, both of Prosper, Texas; stepgrandchildren and their spouses, Michelle and Ron Lentz of Wellston; Brandon and Mandy Stewart of McLoud; eight great-grandchildren and other extended family.

Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Fairmount Cemetery in Hollis.

Viewing will be 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. today at Walker Funeral Home in Shawnee. Patterson Greer Funeral Home of Hollis is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to the Harmon County Historical Museum, 102 W. Broadway, Hollis OK 73550.

Heather Harwell
Former Tecumseh resident Heather Harwell, 32, currently of Tyler, Texas, died in Texas.

Service and other information is pending and will be announced by Cooper Funeral Home, Tecumseh.

Willard Chambers
Longtime Earlsboro resident Willard Chambers, 93, passed away Thursday, Feb. 14, 2008, in Tecumseh.

He was born Oct. 2, 1914, in Council Hill, Okla., to Percy and Lela (Self) Chambers. Willard graduated from Harjo High School.

He married Ima Jean Bristow Oct. 13, 1917, and they spent 62 years together before her death in 1999.

They moved to Earlsboro in 1927 and lived on Chambers Road, which they named after him 5 years ago, for 80 years. Willard was a member of Fairview Baptist Church. He was a farmer/rancher his entire life. He loved gardening and was very proud of his tomatoes. He also loved to hunt, fish and play dominos.

Willard was a very generous person to anyone he saw in need and will be remembered for his love, humor, and graciousness.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ima Chambers; parents; seven brothers and one sister.

He is survived by his children, Ron Chambers of Cabot, Ark., and Claude Chambers of Earlsboro; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Addie Mae Van Antwerp.

Visitation will be 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. today.

Service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Resthaven Funeral Home with the Rev. Keith Henley officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.

Herbert Newton Sims
Shawnee resident Herbert Newton Sims, 79, died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2008, at his residence.

He was born July 28, 1928, in Fayette, Ala., to Reuben Fred Sims and Verra (Woods) Sims.

He married Sylvia (Anderson) June 16, 1957, in Yanush, Okla.

He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Cassin Young.

He was a Maytag Service Technician. He attended Twin Lakes Church of the Nazarene and enjoyed spending time with his children and great grandchildren.

Hew was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Ward L. Sims and John T. Sims.

Survivors include wife, Sylvia Sims of the home; two children, Bill J. Sims and wife, Marsha, of Shawnee, and Robert Sims and wife, Jeanie, of Shawnee; four grandchildren, Billy Joe Sims Jr. of Norman, Rodney Sims of Shawnee, Kimberly Vanderburg and husband, J.V., of Shawnee, and Melissa Kobolt and husband, Eric, of Shawnee; eight great-grandchildren, Keala, Bradley, Taci, Zackery, Evan, Lanie, Marshall, and Chloe; one brother, Rex Sims and wife, Nita, of Auburn, Ala.; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Chapel of Walker Funeral Service with Jerry Anderson and Wayne Cable officiating. Burial will be at Cupco Cemetery, Yanush, Okla.

Vera Pearman
Stroud resident Vera Pearman, 89, died Thursday, Feb. 17.

Service will be 10 a.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church, Stroud. Burial will follow at Stroud Cemetery under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service, Stroud.

George Wells Jr.
Sparks resident George Wells Jr., 90, died Monday, Feb. 14, in Stroud.

Further information is pending and will be announced by Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.

Bettie Louise Taylor
Maud resident Bettie Louise Taylor, 78, died Thursday, Feb. 17, at her home.

She was born Jan. 31, 1926, in Seminole to R.D. and Addo (Bedford) Strawn.

She was a retired waitress.

On April 30, 1944, she married Raymond Taylor in McKittrick, Calif.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Maud.

Taylor was a Seminole County resident for 15 years. She previously lived in California, where she was a member of the Kiwanis Club, Pocuantus Club and the Sportsmans Club and Elks Lodge.

She was preceded in death by her parents and son, Danny Ray Taylor, in 1983.

Survivors include her husband, Raymond Taylor of the home; one brother, Grady Strawn of Bullhead City, Ariz.; two brothers-in-law, Alfred Pierce of Oklahoma City and Lemuey Hale of Maud; three sisters-in-law, Rachel Hale of Maud, Virgie Colum of Seminole and Mary Lee Brewer of Seminole; three grandchildren, Tammy Kestler and husband Kris, Teresa and Larry Brockett and Raymond Taylor; and five great-grandchildren.

Service will be 2 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church, Maud, with the Rev. Jim Kirkendall officiating. Burial will be at Cummings Cemetery.

Knight-Swearingen Funeral Home is directing arrangements.

Franklin Onen Woodruff
Longtime Seminole resident Franklin Onen Woodruff, 75, died Friday, Feb. 16, at Seminole Estates Care Center.

Viewing will be from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.

Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Wolf Cemetery, South of Seminole, with the Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Seminole.
