Cecil Rhodes, 82, of Norman,
Oklahoma, died Tuesday, April 29, 2003 in
Norman, Oklahoma. Funeral Services will
be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, May 2, 2003
at Havenbrook Funeral Home Chapel in
Norman, Oklahoma with Reverend Glenn
Faison officiating. Private Graveside
services will follow at the Sunny Lane
Cemetery in Del City, Oklahoma.
Services are under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home of
Norman, Oklahoma.
Mr. Rhodes was born November 20, 1920 in Tuttle,
Oklahoma, to Robert Ewing and Annie Jewel McCurdy Rhodes. He
grew up in Tuttle-Newcastle area and graduated from Newcastle High
School and attended the University of Oklahoma. He married Mary
Stanmire. Mr. Rhodes was a veteran of World War II serving with
the U.S. Navy Air Corp. He moved to Norman from Oklahoma City
in 1948. He owned and operated Rhodes Grain Company for over
fifty-five years and was a pioneer in the modernization of the grain
business in Oklahoma. Mr. Rhodes was a member of the First Baptist
Church in Norman.
Mr. Rhodes was preceded in death by his parents and sister.
Survivors include his wife, Mary of the home; two daughters, Sherry
McDonald and husband, Richard of Norman, OK and Mary Kathleen
Rhodes and husband, Brad Quillen of Oklahoma City, OK; and three
grandchildren, David A. McDonald and wife, Julianna of Oklahoma
City, OK, John McDonald and wife, Sandra of Moore, OK and Seth
McDonald and wife, Kara of Norman, OK.

Oleta Ann Batson
Oleta Ann Batson, 62, of Norman, Oklahoma, died Wednesday, April 23, 2003 in Norman, Oklahoma. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, April 28, 2003 at Havenbrook Funeral Home Chapel in Norman, Oklahoma with Chaplain Harry Smith officiating. Services are under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman, Oklahoma.
Ms. Batson was born June 25, 194 in Proctor, Oklahoma, to Bernie and Lola Reese Kindle. She grew up in Proctor, Oklahoma and lived a number of Oklahoma towns, including Tulsa, Owasso, Choctaw and Edmond. She moved to Norman from Edmond in February 2003. Ms. Batson worked as a checker for I.G.A. stores throughout most of her life.
Ms. Batson was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister. Survivors include her son, Mark Allen Rogers and companion, Rick Steiner of Norman, OK; daughter, Debbie Ann Cooper and husband, Steve of Ft. Gibson, OK; brother, Lloyd Kindle of Berryhill, OK; four grandchildren, Heather Hamilton, Amber Cooper, Ashley Cooper, Stevie Kristen Cooper; one great-grandson, Cole Hamilton; four nieces and six nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Hospice Memorial Fund, 623 N. Porter, Suite 300, Norman, OK 73071.

Roy Dale Rames
Roy Dale Rames, 73, of Norman,
Oklahoma, died Wednesday, May 5, 2004,
at the Norman Veterans Center in Norman,
Oklahoma. Services will be held at 2:00
P.M., Monday, May 10, 2004, at
Havenbrook Funeral Home Chapel in
Norman. Interment will follow at the
Memory Lane Cemetery in Anadarko,
Oklahoma with full military honors.
Honorary casket bearers are Alex Rames,
Cory Smizer, Rick Davis, Jerry Davis, Dr.
Bill Shadid, Bob Hines, Judge Tom Lucas,
Jarrett Rames, Donnie Cox, Ronnie Cox and Carson Rames. Services
are under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman,
Oklahoma.
Roy was born April 22, 1931 in Anadarko, Oklahoma, to Tom
and Lilly Guiterrez (Guthrie) Rames. He grew up and attended
school in Anadarko. At the age of sixteen, Roy joined the U. S. Army
and was honorably discharged in 1952. He was a veteran of the
Korean War. Roy married his childhood friend and sweetheart, Esta
Montelle Garrett, on June 5, 1953, in Anadarko. Roy worked a
variety of jobs until 1963. He then joined the Oklahoma Army
National Guard and moved to Norman. He retired in 1992 from the
National Guard. He then worked for Judge Tom Lucas as a bailiff for
a few years. He enjoyed guns, hunting and traveling. Roy was an
avid fan of the University of Oklahoma, Dallas Cowboys and Notre
Dame. He was a Mason and a member of the 45th Infantry Division
Alumni Association. Roy was a loving and caring father, grandfather,
uncle and friend.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Esta.
Survivors include two sons, Steve Rames and wife, Stephanie of
Perry, OK and Wendell Rames and wife, Melissa of Norman, OK;
a daughter, Paula Smizer and husband, Larry of Norman, OK; sister,
Dora Cox of Norman; brother, Willie Rames and wife, Dorothy, of
Norman; five grandchildren, Cory Smizer, Alex Rames and Hannah
Rames, all of Norman, Jarrett Rames of Fort Collins, CO and Carson
Rames of Perry, OK; nieces and nephews include Rick Davis and
wife, Fannie, Jerry Davis, Annette Russell and husband, John,
Jannette Stewart, Donald Cox and wife, Debbie, all of Norman, and
Ronald Cox and wife, Bonnie of the State of Washington; and many
other nieces and nephews across the country.

Robert Bynum Jr.
Mr. Bynum was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
Survivors include his wife, Judy of the home; son, Michael Ray Bynum
and wife, Linda of Vallejo, CA; two daughters, Robbie Moffeit of
Norman, OK and Nancy Chapin of Dallas, TX; sister, Evelyn Ward of
Sallisaw, OK; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Charles Francis Harding III
Charles (Chas) Francis Harding III, 33,
of Norman, Oklahoma, died Sunday, June 1,
2003 near Hydro, Oklahoma. Funeral Services
will be held at 3:00 P.M., Wednesday, June 4,
2003 at Trinity Baptist Church in Norman
with Reverend Ron Rogers officiating and
Bryan Slocomb assisting. Services are under
the direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home of
Norman, Oklahoma.
Chas was born October 01, 1969 in
Dallas, Texas, to Charles F. Harding II and Sherry Reece Harding.
He moved from Dallas to Norman in 1970. He graduated from
Washington High School in Washington, Oklahoma and later
graduated from the Colorado School of Mines. He worked as a
Petroleum Engineer. Chas was a member of the Kappa Sigma
fraternity and the Society of Petroleum Engineers. He married Kari
Marie Anderson on July 11, 1998 in Norman. The family is
expecting a baby, Carter Anderson Harding, any day. Chas was
preceded in death by his grandfather, B.F. Reece. Survivors include
his wife, Kari of the home; son, Charles (Case) Francis Harding IV,
of the home; father, Charles F. Harding II and wife, Margo of
Norman, OK; mother, Sherrilynn Reece of Washington, Oklahoma;
five brothers, Brennan Harding and wife, Meghan of Silver Springs,
MD, Nathaniel Harding of Norman, OK, David Beedon and wife,
Caroline of Santa Monica, CA; John Beedon of Santa Monica, CA
and Joseph Beedon and wife, Shirley of Des Moines, IA;
grandparents, Charles Francis Harding and wife, Onieta of Dallas,
TX, Veatrice Reece of Pauls Valley, OK and Harry Hermann of
Norman, OK.
