Neal Linn Craig
Neal L. Craig 61, of Noble, Oklahoma passed away
Thursday, July 3, 2003. He was born May 18, 1942 in Norman.
Neal is the second of four children born to Silvie and Grace
(Moody) Craig. He attended Norman schools. He and Jeannie
Heflin of Norman were married Oct 4, 1963 and have lived in
Noble for the past 30 years.
Neal is survived by his wife, Jeannie of the home; one
daughter, Lynn Wells and husband, Jerry of Blanchard; one son,
Darrel Craig of Noble; two brothers, Boyd Craig and wife, Sharon
of Plano, TX and Charles Craig and wife, Pam of Noble; one
sister, Elaine Chapman and husband, Freddie of Norman; four
grandchildren, Gary Craig of Minneola, TX, Nicklas and Justin
Wells of Blanchard, and Coty Craig of Tishomingo, OK.; four
nephews, three nieces and several great nieces and nephews.
Neal was preceded in death by his parents, Silvie and Grace
Craig, and one grandson, Joshua Craig. Graveside Services will be
held at 2.00 P.M., Saturday, July 5, 2003 at Noble I.O.O.F.
Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral
Home of Norman, Oklahoma.

Olivia Jane Dougherty Wallace
Olivia Jane Dougherty Wallace, of Norman died late
September 28th at home after an extended illness. A
celebration of Olivia's life will be held at the First Presbyterian
Church in Norman, Oklahoma at 10:00 A.M., Friday, October 17,
2003.
Olivia was born February 19th 1934 in Bellefontaine, Ohio,
she was the daughter of the late Dr. Clark McReight and Olivia
French Blinn Dougherty. Olivia attended Western College for
Women in Oxford, Ohio for three years. She was a flight hostess
with TWA. She also was a medical transcriptionist for Lompoc
Memorial Hospital. Olivia was a member of the First Presbyterian
Church of Norman. Her lifelong passion was playing the violin
and enjoyed the piano and classical music. For many years she
greatly enjoyed being a member of the
Lompoc Pops and the Santa Maria Symphony Orchestra.
Survivors include three sisters, Mary Jean Dougherty of Pacifica,
Calif., Ruth Joyce Zimmerly of New Philadelphia, Ohio, and
Elizabeth Joan Eichele of Coshocton, Ohio. Olivia had three sons
and daughters-in-law, Howard Clark and Janet Wallace of Lompoc
California, Joseph Martin and Stormy Wallace of Grass Valley,
California, and William Alston and Teri Wallace of Norman.
Olivia had 7 grandchildren, Jennifer Olivia, Clark William, Jo
Janelle, Sara Jean Wallace
of Lompoc, and William Alston Jr., John Chaney, and Andrea Lee Wallace of
Norman. In keeping with her wishes, Olivia's body is to be
cremated and buried with her parents in Evergreen Burial Park in
New Philadelphia, Ohio.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to: The

John Robert Taylor
John Robert Taylor went to be
with the Lord on Monday, September
29, 2003. He was born in Bartlesville,
Oklahoma, on May 11, 1925. Memorial
Services will be held at 1:00 P.M.,
Thursday, October 2, 2003 at Westside
Church of Christ in Norman with Mr.
Leon Dennis officiating. John was
preceded in death by his parents, Ralph
and Reba Taylor, and brother, Ralph
Taylor, Jr., all of Bartlesville, as well as
his sister, Maribel1e Ledlie, of Tyler, Texas.
John is survived by his wife of 48 years, Nova Taylor, of Norman,
Oklahoma, and sons and daughters-in-law, Todd and Stacy Taylor
of Ft. Myers, Florida, and Tye and Shelly Taylor of Rowlett,
Texas. John was affectionately referred to as a G-Dad by his five
grandchildren, John Robert Taylor, II, and Carl Anthony Taylor,
II, of Ft. Myers, FL, and Bayley, Bryne and Thaddeus John Taylor
of Rowlett, TX. In addition to his wife, children, and
grandchildren, John deeply loved his three sisters-in-law. Kathy
Nail of Phoenix, Arizona, was loved as if she were his own
daughter.
John joined the military as a Navy Cadet at the age of seventeen.,
He received his Naval wings in Jacksonville, Florida, at 18 years
of age. John was awarded the honor of serving in a select group of
naval aviators.
He graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of
Science degree in Geology. John worked for Phillips Petroleum
Company in Midland, TX, for many years, and returned to
Norman, Oklahoma, in 1963 to work with Reserve National
Insurance Company.
Later, John joined his wife and went into the real estate business.
He and Nova worked together in Norman, OK, for over 30 years.
For the last 11 years, until the time of his death, John and Nova
worked together at Don Cies, Inc., in Norman, OK.
John was a faithful member of Westside Church of Christ in
Norman. He touched the lives of many people, who will forever
remember him.

Jack Lee Sparger
Jack Lee Sparger, 71, of Norman, Oklahoma, died
Wednesday, September 24, 2003 in Norman, Oklahoma. Visitation
will be held from 1:00 to 5:00 P.M. on Monday, September 29, 2003
at Havenbrook Funeral Home Chapel in Norman. Graveside Services
will be held at 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, September 30, 2003 at Highland
Cemetery in Durant, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of
Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman, Oklahoma.
Mr. Sparger was born April 25, 1932 in Durant, Oklahoma,
to Harry D. and Birdie Lee Moody Sparger. He grew up in Durant,
Oklahoma and graduated for high school there in 1950. He moved
to Norman, Oklahoma from Ada, Oklahoma in 1968. Mr. Sparger
worked as a clerk typist for the Severe Storms Laboratory for six
years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Sparger was a
member of First Christian Church.
Mr. Sparger was preceded in death by his parents, one sister
and three brothers. Survivors include his sister, Rebecca Sparger of
Durant, Oklahoma and a number of nieces and nephews.

Dean Hodges Crew Robbins
Dean Hodges Crew Robbins, 78, of
Norman, Oklahoma, died September 4, 2003,
in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Mrs. Robbins
was born November 20, 1924 in Macomb,
Oklahoma, to James Anthony and Allie Eliza
Burden Henderson. She grew up in Macomb
and graduated from Macomb High School.
After graduation she moved to Shawnee,
Oklahoma and worked as a dental assistant.
Dean married Ralph A. Hodges on December
22, 1945 in Shawnee, he preceded her in death on July 25, 1968. In
January 1950, she moved to Norman, Oklahoma from Shawnee.
Dean earned her living by managing her own real estate investments
from 1971 until her death. She married Howard F. Robbins on
August 30, 1993 in Norman. She enjoyed a number of hobbies
including reading, gardening, china painting, dancing and playing the
piano. She was a member of the Town and Country Garden Club, the
Norman Chamber of Commerce, the League of Women Voters, Beta
Sigma Phi, the ExLibras Book Club and St. Stephen’s United
Methodist Church.
Mrs. Robbins was preceded in death by her parents; first
husband, Ralph; and one brother and two sisters. Survivors include
her husband, Howard of the home; daughter, LaDean Hodges
Campbell of Norman, OK; three stepsons, Philip E. Robbins of
Glenwood Springs, CO, Gary Robbins and wife, Lisa of Reno, NV
and David C. Robbins and wife, Kathy of Norman, OK; one brother,
Jimmy Dale Henderson and wife, Kay of Eugene, OR; two
grandchildren, Heather Campbell Vaughn and husband, Joe of
Edmond, OK and Robert A. Campbell Jr. and wife, Jacqlyn of Tulsa,
OK; and two great-grandchildren, Haven and Grayson Vaughn.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Stephen’s
United Methodist Church, 1801 W. Brooks, Norman, Oklahoma
73069.

Victoria Olympia Penate
Victoria Olympia Penate, 46, of El Salvador, died Monday, September 15, 2003, in Norman, Oklahoma. A Vigil will be held at 7:00 P.M.,Wednesday, September 17, 2003 at Havenbrook Funeral Home Chapel in Norman. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, September 18, 2003 at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 211 N. Porter, Norman, Oklahoma with Reverend Edward Menasco, celebrant. Interment will follow in El Salvador. Services are under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman, Oklahoma.
Mrs. Penate was born December 18, 1956 in Santa Ana, El Salvador, Central America. She was the second eldest of nine children, the only girl. She came to the United States in 1988 and worked in Beverly Hills, California cleaning homes. Mrs. Penate later moved to Norman in 1998. She worked in housekeeping for the Villager Lodge Hotel in Norman for five years. She was a wonderful cook and loving mother of four and grandmother of four. Mrs. Penate loved dancing and won many awards and dancing contests. Her life here on earth was short, however, she lived it well.
Mrs. Penate was preceded in death by her father, Manuel Penate and two brothers, Mario Ernesto Penate and Carlos Alonso Penate. Survivors include her mother, Lucia Villanueva of El Salvador; four children, Zully Penate of Oklahoma City, OK, Noe Lopez and wife, Jennifer, Manuel Lopez and Alex Penate, all of Norman, OK; six brothers; four grandchildren and countless cousins, aunts and uncles all over the world, from Oklahoma to California to El Salvador.
Mrs. Penate was a wonderful mother, grandmother and friend. She is greatly loved and will be dearly missed.
