Lucy Lillian Burt, 63, of Norman,
Oklahoma, died Monday, February 10, 2003
in Norman, Oklahoma. Funeral Services
will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, February
14, 2003 at Havenbrook Funeral Home
Chapel in Norman, Oklahoma with
Reverend Lester Vogler officiating.
Services are under the direction of
Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman, Oklahoma.
Mrs. Burt was born September 24, 1939 in Hartford, New
York, to Pete and Mary Bushey Bushee. Lucy was a caregiver
working at nursing homes and also providing in-home care for people
for over forty years. She moved to Norman, Oklahoma in 1966 from
Bakersmills, New York. She married Edward Jason Burt Jr. on
August 6, 1994 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Mrs. Burt was preceded in death by her parents, previous
husband, brothers, sisters, daughter, granddaughters. Survivors
include ten sons, William, Wallace, Clyde and Calvin Steves, all of
Norman, OK, Wesley Steves of Hudson Falls, NY, Victor Steves and
wife, Peggy of Glens Falls, NY, Clifford Steves Jr. and wife, Dana of
Noble, OK, Clinton Steves of Houston, TX, John Fahlmann of
Queensbury, NY and Edward Jason Burt III and wife, Candace of
South Glens Falls, NY; five daughters, Edith Miller and husband,
Richard Lowe of Houston, TX, Carol Ewing of Noble, OK, Christy
Williamson and husband, Kevin of Fort Hood, TX, Jean Marie Noble
and husband, Stan of Hartford, NY and Marlene Burt of Glens Falls,
NY; one sister, Helen Balfour of Glen Falls, NY; two sisters-in-law,
Betty Elizabeth Bushee of Norman, OK and Aggie Straight of
Bakersmills, NY; one brother-in-law, Cliff Burt and wife, Barb of
Kingman, AZ; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and
several cousins, nieces and nephews.

JoAnn Carolyn Carver
JoAnn entered into this world
September 1, 1940, born to Dave and Ruth
Propst Vaughan at Kings Mountain, North
Carolina and left for her heavenly home on
Monday, February 24, 2003. Services to
celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 P.M.,
Friday, February 28, 2003 at Havenbrook
Funeral Home Chapel in Norman with
Hugh English officiating. Interment will
follow at the Sunset Memorial Park
Cemetery in Norman, Oklahoma.
JoAnn spent most of her young life in the Anadarko and
Lawton area. After having a family, she went back to Rose State
College, getting a G.E.D. and Associates Degree. JoAnn lived and
traveled to many states but most of her time was spent in the Shawnee
and Norman area. She was employed by many of the Shawnee
restaurants, Western Electric and retired from Tinker Air Force Base
as a supervisor after thirty three years. Her spare time was spent with
her children, grandchildren and collecting clowns of which she had
over four hundred.
JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Brian and
a daughter, Diane. Survivors include a stepdaughter, Roberta Motes
of Fletcher, OK.; five daughters, Janie Soto and husband, Tony of
Norman, Lynda Shafer and fiancé, John Yates of OKC, Robin Wertz
of Chowchilla, CA., Christy Carver of OKC, and Traci Putman of
Norman; two grandchildren she adopted and raised, Kelly Carver and
Jerry Carver of Norman; seven grandchildren, Jon Michael Melott of
Norman, Jason Melott of OKC., Charles, Ashley and Christopher
Wertz of Winton, CA., Chelsea and Anthony Putman of Norman; two
great-grandchildren, Slade Carver of Norman, Connor Melott of
OKC; her extended family, Tony Gardner, Stephanie and Aaron
Scott, Linda Mitchell, Ashley and Richard (Bam Bam) Church,
Joshua Scott and Erin Nabinger; three brothers; Don Vaughan and
wife, Katie of Novato, CA, Bill Vaughan and wife, Donna of Sparta,
MO, Johnny Vaughan and wife, Carolyn of Shawnee, OK; stepfather,
John Johnson of Santa Anna, Texas; “buddies”, Millie Sawyer,
Maxine Melott and Louise Cowden; countless other relatives and
friends in Oklahoma and North Carolina.

Jessie Louada Clore
Jessie Louada Clore, 85, of Norman,
Oklahoma, died Monday, February 3, 2003
in Norman, Oklahoma. The family will
receive friends on Tuesday, February 4,
2003 between 4:00 and 7:00 P.M.
Graveside Services will be held at 1:00
P.M., Wednesday, February 5, 2003 at
Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa,
Oklahoma with Reverend Catherine
Bennett officiating. Services are under the
direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home of
Norman, Oklahoma.
Mrs. Clore was born January 11, 1918 in Tulsa, Oklahoma,
to Frank William and Grace Edna Cooper Fowler. She grew up in
Tulsa and graduated from Tulsa Central High School in 1935. She
received her B.A. degree from the University of Tulsa. Mrs. Clore
moved to Fort Worth, Texas in 1952 before returning to Tulsa in
1966. She served as a secretary for the Public School Administration
in Forth Worth, Texas and then for the Public School Administration
in Tulsa, Oklahoma for fourteen years. She married Hubert Charles
Clore in 1940, and he preceded her in death on February 11, 1989.
Mrs. Clore moved to Norman in October 1994 from Tulsa. She was
a member of First Christian Church in Tulsa and Norman, Oklahoma,
the Oklahoma Educators Association, the American Association of
Retired Persons and a former Garden Club member.
Mrs. Clore was preceded in death by her parents and husband,
Hubert. Survivors include
two sons, Lawrence Clore and wife, Martha of Houston, Texas and
Ralph Clore and wife, Nancy of Norman, Oklahoma; seven
grandchildren, Robert W. Clore, Lisa Swisher and husband, Kyle,
James Clore and wife, Lynn, Kathy Clore, Larry Clore, Katy Clore
and Mike Clore; and three great-grandsons, Jake Swisher, Benjamin
Clore and Luke Swisher.

Robert Lewis Dale
Robert Lewis Dale, 51, of Norman, Oklahoma, died Monday,
February 10, 2003 in Norman, Oklahoma. Memorial Services will
be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, February 12, 2003 at McFarlin
Memorial United Methodist Church in Norman, Oklahoma with
Reverend Phil Fenn officiating. Services are under the direction of
Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman, Oklahoma.
Mr. Dale was born February 24, 1951 in Ponca City,
Oklahoma, to Aaron Francis and Dorothy Lucille Moore Dale. He
graduated from high school in Vernon, Texas and then attended South
Plains Junior College. Bob graduated from the ninth Norman Police
Academy in 1972 and joined the Norman Police Department where
he served until 1989. He then became Director of Security and Chief
of Campus Police for the Norman Public Schools. Bob married Judy
on November 22, 1997 in Norman, Oklahoma. He was member of
McFarlin Memorial United Methodist Church.
Mr. Dale was preceded in death by his father, Aaron Francis
Dale. Survivors include his wife, Judy of the home; mother, Dorothy
Dale of Norman, OK; three daughters, Tanya Coelho and husband,
Jesse of Moore, OK, Kristy Craig and husband, Matt of Norman, OK
and Jody Grippen and husband, Barry of Norman, OK; stepson,
Robert Rose of Norman, OK; step daughter, Melissa Stanley and
husband, Rob of Dallas, TX; three sisters, Bobbie White and
husband, Kenneth of Vernon, TX, Mary Lawless and husband, John
of Eldora, Iowa and Patsy Dale of Norman, OK; eight grandchildren,
Katie Peden, Wesley Grippen, Kimberly Coelho, Sydney Grippen,
Duane Coelho, Jacob and Ryan Craig, and Miranda Stanley.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.

Melba Bailey Robertson Dean
Melba Bailey Robertson Dean, 84, died Sunday,
February 23, 2003 in Norman, Oklahoma after a period of
declining health and complications from a stroke.
She was born August 20, 1918, in Ball, Louisiana to
Steve and Leano Bailey. One of four children, she grew up in
Louisiana and was married and had four daughters with her
husband, Bruce Robertson. They moved to Norman in 1959.
Melba worked for the University of Oklahoma in the Financial
Aids Department for several years after her husband's death. She
was remarried in 1973 to Jarrett Dean and retired to enjoy her
hobbies of gardening, bird watching, and needlework.
Melba was preceded in death by her parents, Steve and Leano
Bailey; her husbands, Bruce Robertson and Jarrett Dean; an infant
son; and a brother, Hickman Bailey.
Melba is survived by her four daughters and their
husbands, Pat and Robert Denton of Norman, OK; Linda and
Michael Martin of Manassas, VA; Shirley and Bill Monical of
Oklahoma City, OK; Kaye and Joe Hylton of St. Thomas, US
Virgin Islands; a brother, Wallace Bailey of Shreveport, LA; a
sister, Eunice Corley of Ball, LA; five grandchildren, Jennifer
and her husband, Michael Drury, Jeff Chrisope, Amy and her
husband, Chad Roberts, Kali Hylton, and Bailey Hylton; four
great-grandchildren, Mickey, Sarah, Sam, and Katie Drury, and
numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at St. Stephen’s United
Methodist Church in Norman, OK on Wednesday, February 26th,
2003 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Hixson
Brothers Funeral home in Pineville, LA on Friday, February 28,
2003 at 1:00 P.M. Burial will be at Kitchen Creek Cemetery in
Ball, LA.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be
sent to St. Stephen's United Methodist Church, 1801 W. Brooks,
Norman, OK 73069.
