Bree Amanda Giles

Age 25, Lawton - Memorial service will be 1:30 PM Thursday, October 5, 2006 in the Becker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Rev. Cliff Gravitt, Pastor, Northside Baptist Church, officiating.

Mrs. Giles died Wednesday, September 27, 2006 in Lawton.

She was born on November 19, 1980 in Lawton to Sandra Nathe and Scott Camp. She attended local schools and graduated from Eisenhower High School in 1997. While in high school, Bree started her LPN training at Great Plains Vo-Tech and graduated from there in 1998. She married Joe H. Giles, Jr. in Lawton on April 4, 2001. Her family was very important to her and she loved music and playing guitar. Her favorite composer was Mike Oldfield. She wrote numerous songs and had one of them recorded at a local studio.

Survivors include her husband of the home; a son, Nathaniel Gage Giles, of the home; two daughters, Micah Gonderzik and Cynthia Belle Giles, both of the home; her father and stepmother, Scott Camp and Darla, of Lawton; her mother and stepfather, Sandra Noel and John, of Lawton; a sister, Clair Noel, of Lawton; her maternal grandmother, Glenna Nathe, North of Lawton; and an uncle, Jeff Camp.

Her maternal grandfather, Steve Nathe, paternal grandparents, Frank and Anna Camp, and her aunt, Cynthia, preceded her in death.

H. Louise Sasser Clay

Age 83, Lawton - Service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday in the Memorial Chapel First Baptist Church with Rev. Les Banks, Chaplain, Hospice of Southwest Oklahoma, officiating.

Mrs. Clay died Wednesday in Lawton.

Burial will be in Highland Cemetery under the direction of the Becker Funeral Home.

She was born October 19, 1922 in Wapanucka, Oklahoma. She grew up in Lawton where she attended Lawton High School and was a baton twirler in the band. She married Stanley Sasser on June 6, 1940 in Lawton. He preceded her in death on December 16, 1976. She later married Charles Louis Clay on March 12, 1977 in Oklahoma City. He preceded her in death on October 20, 2003.

She was primarily a homemaker but had worked at Fort Sill National Bank and a Lawton furniture store. She worked for Flour Manufacturing in California where she lived with her 2nd husband. She returned to Lawton in 1994. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and was baptized on September 10, 1933. She had served as President of USPTA as well as the Garden Club. She loved to golf.

Survivors include a daughter and son in law, Jerry and Ron Childs, Niamey, Niger, West Africa; two sons and a daughter in law, Stan Sasser, Oklahoma City, and Rick and Sharon Sasser, Lawton; seven grandchildren, Julie Kraus, Springfield, Missouri, Neal Childs, Niger, West Africa, Sarah Lout, Mali, West Africa, Hiram Sasser, III, McKinney, Texas, Scott Sasser, Durant, and Brian and Jeff Sasser, both of Lawton; seven great grandchildren; three step children, Rick Clay, Janet Kempke and Jody Clay.

Erna “Monika” Barton

Age 80, Lawton - Services will be 1:30 PM Tuesday in the Becker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Rev. Wayne Schoonover, Pastor, Liberty Heights Chapel, officiating.

Mrs. Barton died Friday at her home.

Burial will be in the Post Cemetery, Fort Sill.

She was born on February 24, 1926 in Berlin, Germany to Bruno Willi Ernst and Anna (Nautsch) Eichler. She married SFC (Retired) William L. Barton in Mainstockheim, Germany on April 6, 1960. She became a United States citizen on November 22, 1963. She worked for AAFES for more than ten years. She received her realtor’s license in 1978 and worked for Liz Campbell and Frederica Grant. She was a member of the PX Tattlers.

Survivors include two daughters, Marianne Schweitzer and Debbie Peeler, both of Lawton; two sons, Hans-Jurgen Volkl of Obertroubling, Germany and Larry Barton and his wife, Nancy, of Lawton; four grandchildren, Bobby Volkl, Bryan Peeler, Jennifer Peeler and William Barton; two great grandchildren, Jaden Dickson and Brooklynn Mayle-Peeler; a sister, Lieselotte Munster of Berlin, Germany; a nephew, Ronald Eichler of Germany; and numerous other special friends.

Her parents, husband and a brother, Harry Eichler, preceded her in death.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans Center, 4704 NW Motif Manor Blvd., Lawton, Oklahoma 73505.

Alvin Bowles

Age 65, Sterling - Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday in the Sterling United Methodist Church with Tony Elkins, officiating.

Mr. Bowles died Thursday in Duncan.

Burial will be in the Sterling Cemetery under the direction of the Becker Funeral Home, Lawton.

He was born June 25, 1941 in Sterling to Jack and Mildred Bowles. He grew up in Sterling where he lived most of his life. He graduated high school in Sacramento, California. He had been a construction worker all of his life and was a member of the Sterling Methodist Church.

Survivors include his twin brother and sister in law, Calvin and Janie Bowles, Geronimo; a brother and sister in law, Leroy and Patricia Bowles, Lewisville, Texas; a nephew and his wife, Johnny and Leah Bowles, Geronimo; five nieces and their husbands, Cheryl and Larry Finney, Double Oak, Texas, Kim and Steve Bartlett, Sterling, Lisa Mitchell, Denison, Texas, Marcy and John McCain and Candice and Tye Carroll all of Highland Village, Texas; seven great nephews and seven great nieces.

Memorial contributions may be made to Autumn Light Hospice, 1608 Jones, Duncan OK 73533.

Goldie King

Age 78, Snyder - Services will be at 2:30 pm Monday in the First Baptist Church, Snyder with Rev. Jeff Flowers, Pastor officiating.

Mrs. King died Friday in a Lawton hospital.

Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of the Becker Funeral Home of Snyder.

She was born March 22, 1929 in Gotebo, Oklahoma to Alfie and Clara (Jump) Campbell. She married A.V. King on July 22, 1950 in Vernon, Texas. She and her husband lived in the Snyder area all of their lives. She managed the Missle Drive-In in Snyder from the mid 1970’s until the mid 1980’s. At the time of her death she was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Snyder.

She is survived by her husband Al King of the home, four children and their spouses, Ann Bryant Dyson and husband John of Fayetteville, AR, Pam McLerran and husband Randy of Oklahoma City, OK, Mona Lamar and husband Darrell of Temple, OK and Kenny King and his wife Jill of Clinton, OK. She is also survived by her sister Dolly Ferguson of Grand Junction, CO, nine grandchildren, Ricky Bryant, Teresa Emerson, Sherri Collins, Darren Lamar, Jeremy Lamar, Blake Lamar, Brandy Mankin, Kyle King and Megan King, six great grandchildren, Michael, Tanner, RanDea, Darra, Jaelie, Parker, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother.

Bet Benefiel

Age 56, Dallas - Graveside services will be 2:30 pm Saturday in the Highland Cemetery with Rev. A.L. Swagerty, officiating.

Mrs. Benefiel died Thursday in Dallas, Texas, following a 20 year bout with cancer.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Becker Funeral Home.

She was born March 1, 1951 in California, to Olen and Mable Hendricks Love. She grew up in Fletcher and was a 1969 graduate of Fletcher High School. She married Richard Benefiel on February 15, 1992 in Lawton. She owned and operated Bets Country Ritz in Lawton for many years. She moved to Dallas in 1994 where she operated a catering business and was the marketing director for a number of franchised Wendy’s Restaurants.

She was a past member of the First Baptist Church in Fletcher, a member of the Lawton Chamber of Commerce where she was active in Business after Hours. She was a member of the Junior League of Lawton. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and was an avid cook. At the time of her death she was writing a cookbook.

She is survived by her husband, of the home; a son, Jeff Lutonsky, New York City, New York; her mother, Mable Love, Lawton; three brothers and sisters in law, Charlie and Donis Love and Jim and Carolyn Love, all of Apache, and B.J. and Gail Love, Tulsa; a sister and brother in law, Linda and Nick Garrett, Lawton; several nieces and nephews.

Her father preceded her in death.

Jay R. Cunningham

Age 76, Lawton - Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday in the Becker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Rev. Mirl Yates, Comanche, officiating.

Mr. Cunningham died Monday in Lawton.

Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Gardens.

He was born on October 25, 1930 in Ada to Felix and Francis (Crumpton) Cunningham. He married Lavada Yates in Ada on June 21, 1950. He owned and operated Jay’s Painting for over 40 years.

Survivors include his wife of the home; seven children, Jackie L. Cunningham and his wife, Deborah, of Lawton, Michael S. Cunningham and his wife, Leah, of Madison, Alabama, Darlene Clark and her husband, Phil, of Lawton, Mary A. Locke and her husband, David, of Lawton, Joe Cunningham and his wife, Karen, of Lawton, Billy Cunningham and his wife, Pam, of Claremore, and Stevan Cunningham of Mustang; 14 grandchildren, Jacky Cunningham, Ray Cunningham and his wife, Misty, Lindsay Cunningham, Phillip Clark, Misty Taylor and her husband, Logan, Lesley Underwood and her husband, Matt, David Locke, Jr. and his wife, Brandi, Cassie Cunningham, Cody, Joshua and Jordan Cunningham, Stevan, Tyler, and Ashley Cunningham; eight great grandchildren, Sarah, B.J., Shayla, Kyndra, Madison, Michael, BreeAnne and Devin; a sister and brother-in-law, Christine Vanderpool and Lyle of Dallas, Texas; an uncle, Frank Cunningham and a half brother, Albert Cunningham.

His son, Ronnie Cunningham, and a granddaughter, Leslie Michelle Cunningham, preceded him in death.

Dakota Tyler Johnson

Age 16, Elgin - Services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday in the Elgin High School Gymnasium with Gary Canfield and Logan Prince, officiating.

Dakota died Sunday in Elgin.

Burial will be in the Fletcher Cemetery under the direction of Becker Funeral Home of Fletcher (Formerly Robbins Funeral Home).

He was born October 6, 1991 in Oklahoma City. He was a 10th grade student at Elgin High School where he played football on the defensive line and participated in weight lifting. He had also played baseball. He enjoyed riding four wheelers, bowling, fishing, jet skiing, water skiing, snow skiing, video games and texting. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Fletcher, but was active in the youth activities at the First Baptist Church in Elgin.

He is survived by his parents, Cody and Chris Peters, of the home; a sister, Jaidyn Peters, of the home; Maternal grandparents, Bill and Debbie Merkey, Fletcher, and Terry and Tammy Johnson, Dill City, Oklahoma; Paternal grandparents, Stanley and Debra Peters, Pauls Valley, Oklahoma; Maternal Great Grandparents, Barbara Lang, Valley View, Texas, Betty and Jess Merkey, Dill City, Oklahoma, and Ira Mike Johnson, Dill City; Paternal Great Grandparents, Minnie Pearl and Bobby Stevenson and Vernetta Peters, all of Pauls Valley; a Paternal Great Great Grandmother, Willie Mae Stevenson, Pauls Valley; Aunts and Uncles, Tanner Merkey, Jeremy and Hopie Johnson, Jerrid Johnson, Stanley Peters, Jr. and Wesley Peters; Several great uncles and aunts, Chris Johnson a friend and brother, and Kaysie Ennis a friend and sister both of Elgin.

He is preceded in death by his great grandfather, Claudie Lang, Great Grandmothers, Charlene Johnson and Marie Cox, Great Great Grandparents, Edgar and Ollibee Wilson, Ira and Helen Cunningham and Hilbert Stevenson and an uncle, Jeremiah Johnson.
