Naomi Adilee Fielden

WAGONER -- Naomi Adilee "Granny" Fielden departed this life on Monday, June 14, 2004 in Wagoner. Services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, June 17, 2004, at the First Baptist Church in Wagoner, with Rev. Glen Rowan officiating.

Naomi Fielden was born Jan. 5, 1913, in Wagoner, to Gilbert Vincent and Nettie (Sullivan) Cobb. She was a longtime Hulbert resident and a member of the First Baptist Church of Hulbert.

Mrs. Fielden is survived by six sons and their spouses, Charles Edward and Ruth Fielden, Don and Melva Fielden, Howard and Ruth Fielden, Bonnie and Pam Fielden, all of Hulbert, Gary and Karen Fielden of Collinsville and Dale Franklin and Marta Fielden of Hulbert; brothers and sisters and their spouses, John and Lena Cobb, Isabel Allen, Bill and Lorene Cobb, all of Wagoner, Bob Cobb of Claremore, Ruth Ann Holt of Canadian, Texas, Nettie Henson and Betty and Roy Center, all of Wagoner; two daughters-in-law, Wanda Tannehill of Hulbert and Donna Doris of Claremore; 23 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Fielden was preceded in death by her husband, Bonnie Fielden in 1964; her parents; and two sons, Steve Gilbert Fielden and William Paul Fielden.

Interment will be in Pioneer Cemetery in Wagoner. Pallbearers will be Donnie Fielden, Mark Fielden, Chet Fielden, Doug Fielden, John Fielden and Josh Doris.

Arrangements are under the direction of Mallett Funeral Home of Wagoner.

Tommy Hayes

PARK HILL -- Services for Thomas Gene Hayes, 58, will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, July 29, 2004, at Park Hill Presbyterian Church. Interment will follow at Park Hill Cemetery under the direction of Reed-Culver Funeral Home.

Pallbearers include Michael Wasson, Danny Jackson, David Jackson, Larry Hayes, Troy Lee Jackson and Kenny Jackson. Honorary pallbearers include Bob Jackson, Luke Jackson, Don Thompson, Mike Villegas and Freddie Wasson.

Thomas Gene Hayes was born Dec.10, 1945, in Park Hill, to Thomas and Rose (Jackson) Hayes. He passed from this life Sunday, July 25, 2004, in Broken Arrow.

Tommy served his country in the United States Army from Oct. 27, 1966 to Oct. 16, 1969; in the U.S. Navy from Sept. 30, 1976 to Jan. 18, 1979; and in the Army National Guard of Oklahoma from Feb. 10, 1979 to Feb. 9, 1993.

Tommy was preceded in death by his parents.

Surviving Tommy are his three sisters, Shirley Wasson and husband Freddie, of Broken Arrow, Ruth Villegas and husband Mike, of Park Hill, and Hazel Thompson and husband Donald, of Broken Arrow; two half-sisters, Valorie Waggoner of Blackwell and Lola Mae Heltman of Tempe, Ariz.; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mose Edward Parris

HASKELL -- A graveside committal service for Mose Edward Parris, 82, will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 11, 2004, in the Colbert Family Cemetery, 21501 Ferguson Road, in Haskell, with Rev. Harry Long officiating. Pallbearers will be the Mvskoke Nation Honor Guard.

Mose Edward Parris was born Feb. 26, 1922, in the month of the bony moon, and died May 16, 2004, in the month of the planting moon.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Native American Rights Fund, 1506 Broadway, Boulder, Colo., 80302; or the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian, P.O. Box 23473, Washington, D.C., 20026-3473.

Linda Faye Ritchie Coker

MUSKOGEE -- Services for Linda Faye Ritchie Coker were held at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 27, 2004, at Muskogee Church of Christ, with Minister Kevin Stewart officiating. Interment followed at Holland Cemetery, under the direction of Reed-Culver Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Steven Ritchie, Colton McFarland, Dustin Ritchie, Joseph Ritchie, Eddie Morgan, Jeremy Fallen, Tony Fallen and Jimmy Hughart.

Linda Faye Ritchie Coker passed from this life, Thursday, Sept. 23, 2004, in Tulsa at the age of 51 years. She was born Nov. 5, 1952, in Tahlequah, to Clifford Anderson Ritchie Sr. and Wilma Alice (McClure) Anderson. She was raised by loving parents in the Woodall community, with four sisters and five brothers.

Linda was a bank teller and supervisor since the age of 18; after 25 years she opened and operated Denney's Daycare for eight years and then returned to banking. She worked for Liberty Bank, Fort Gibson State Bank, First National Bank which later became Bank of Oklahoma.

Linda was a member of Our Father's House of Worship in Muskogee, as well as a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and stay at home "Ninny" for her grandson Cade, whose birth made her life complete.

Linda is survived by her husband, Kevin Paul Coker, of the home; one daughter, Lisa (Randy) Clayton of Muskogee; one son, Ryan N. (Neisha) Denney of Eldorado, Ark.; two grandchildren: Cade Ryan Clayton and Taylor Capps; her mother and step-dad, Wilma Alice and Joe Anderson; five brothers: Ronnie (Sue) Ritchie of Tahlequah, Fred (Joyce) Ritchie of Park Hill, Jim (Nelda) Ritchie of Park Hill, Clifford (Jamie) Ritchie of Tahlequah and Danny Joe (Melissa) Ritchie of Tahlequah; four sisters: Alice (Estel) Ritchie Tidwell of Park Hill, Gail (Richard) Morgan of Tahlequah, Donna (Richard) Welch of Tahlequah and Marsha (Cobey) Morgan of Muskogee; her mother-in-law, Judy Coker, her father-in-law, Paul O. Coker; her stepmother-in-law, Barbara Coker; a sister-in-law, Cindy Treat; 18 nieces and nephews; and 23 great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father and a niece.

Donations may be made in Linda's honor to Fort Gibson State Bank.

Betty J. Miller

TAHLEQUAH -- Services for Betty J. (Cooper) Miller, 65, Gentryville, Ind., formerly of Tahlequah, will be held at noon, Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2004, in the Green Country Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Joe Christie officiating and Rev. George Hubbard assisting. Interment will follow in the National Cemetery in Fort Gibson under the care of Green Country Funeral Home

Betty J. Miller lost her battle with cancer on Sept. 24, 2004. She had been ill for two years but diagnosed with cancer in May, 2004. She was born Betty J. Cooper on Jan. 3, 1939, to Elber and Mamie Cooper in Burlington, N.C. She was one of six children. She had three brothers and two sisters.

She was predeceased by her parents, her brothers, one sister and her youngest daughter.

During her lifetime, she worked as a clerk, bookkeeper, and a meat cutter. After her marriage to her current husband in 1971, she worked for the U.S. Army Club System as a culinary chef for 12 years, while traveling with her husband to Germany and military bases in the United States.

Surviving her are her husband of 33 years. Johnny D. Miller Sr. (SFC(E-7)USA-Ret.) of Gentryville, Ind.; two daughters, Carolyn Oles and husband Charles of Evansville, Ind., and Katie Edwards and husband Nathan of May, Texas; a son, John D. Miller of Evansville, Ind.; a sister, Dorothy Anderson of North Wilkesboro, N.C.; two granddaughters, of May, Texas; a grandson of Evansville, Ind.; two great-granddaughters of Attica, Ind; two great grandsons of Brownwood, Texas; and a host of nieces, nephews, close friends, and acquaintances all over the world.

Christine Kay Clark

PENSACOLA, Fla. -- Christine Kay Clark, 94, of Vinita, a former teacher, homemaker, and civic leader, died suddenly Saturday, Sept. 25, 2004, at the Pembrooke Rehabilitation Center in West Chester, Pa. Mrs. Clark was born near Pensacola, Fla., Feb. 18, 1910. Her parents were Stella Maude Ghormley (a citizen of the Cherokee Nation) and Charles Napoleon Kay.

Christine Kay attended Oklahoma State University, Stillwater, where she met her future husband, Everett R. Clark of Mangum. After raising a family of four boys and assisting her husband's career in the Soil Conservation Service of the Department of Agriculture, Christine resumed academic studies, attaining a bachelor's degree in elementary education at North Texas State University and a master's of education at the University of New Hampshire. As a remedial reading specialist, Christine taught 20 years at Durham, N.H.

Mr. and Mrs. Clark retired from public service in 1971, returning to Tahlequah, for their retirement. Mrs. Clark's husband, Everett Clark, died Oct. 27, 1980 (age 78) at Tahlequah.

After returning to Oklahoma in 1971, Mrs. Clark served in state and national offices with the National Daughters of the American Revolution (NSADAR). As vice chairman of the American Indian Committee, she helped establish the American Indian Book Collection of the DAR Library. She also administered the DARs scholarship program for Native American students. She was active in genealogical research on her family history, which led her to serve as president of the Cherokee Genealogical and Historical Society and the Pocahontas Club. She was a member of the National Society of Colonial Dames of the 17th Century, National Society of the U.S. Daughters of the War of 1812, Daughters of American Colonists, Magna Charta Dames, Dames of the Court of Honor, Jamestowne Society, National Society of New England Women, and the Oklahoma Board of the Society of Mayflower Descendants.

Christine Clark was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church, and served as president of the United Methodist Women in Portsmouth, N.H., and Tahlequah.

She is survived by her sons Robert K. Clark of Seattle, Wash.; Jerry L. Clark of Washington, D.C., and Richard O. Clark of West Chester, Pa. Another son, Lloyd K. Clark, died in 1991 at Dallas, Texas. Christine K. Clark left a loving legacy to her children, grandchildren, and many friends over a life filled with unusual achievement.

A graveside funeral service is planned at the Ghormley Family Cemetery at 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 2, 2004. The family cemeteryis located 1 mile west of Pensacola and one-half mile north.

Charles Edward Draper

TAHLEQUAH -- Services for Charles Edward Draper, will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 7, 2004, at Reed-Culver Chapel with Dan Melhus conducting the service. Pallbearers will be his cousins, Alan Jarvis, Neil Jarvis, Rick Carter, Ched Capps, Matthew Capps and Kerry Spears. Honorary pallbearers include Bill Carter, Jesse Ayala, Jim Loftin, William Pearce, Leonard Cole, Bill Hix, Gary Coward, Wayne Sturgeon and Steve Strugeon.

Charles Edward Draper was born May 10, 1951, in Tahlequah to William B. and Betty Draper. He passed from this life Monday, Oct. 4, 2004, in Tulsa at the age of 53 years. Charles was a longtime resident of Tahlequah. He attended Tahlequah schools and graduated from Northeastern State University in 1974 with a bachelor of science degree. Charles was employed at Northeastern State University for 28 years, operating the campus mail room for the first 20 years and then transferring to shipping and receiving. He was a member of the Central Church of Christ in Tahlequah and served as a song leader for the congregation since he was 19 years of age. Since his retirement from NSU a year ago, he has enjoyed traveling and studying genealogy of his family's history.

Survivors include his mother and father of Tahlequah; a sister, Melissa Rickard; a nephew, James Paul Rickard; and a niece, Jodee Rickard; all of Ponca City; and many cousins, family and friends.
