JEWELL M. BANKS

HARDESTY, Okla. -- Jewell Mable Banks, 91, Hardesty, died Saturday, May 12, 2001, at Ochiltree County Hospital in Perryton, Texas.

She was born Feb. 12, 1910, to Alonzo and Lydia (Irons) Woodrum in Kansas City, Mo.

She married Willis Leslie Banks Nov. 26, 1927. He died May 11, 1988.

She attended Pleasant Hill School, and had been a lifelong resident of Hardesty.

She was a member of the Range Missionary Ladies' Association.

Her hobbies included making quilts for various charitable groups.

Survivors include three sons, Leslie Banks and wife, Reba, Hardesty, Carl Banks and wife, Janelle, Guymon, Okla., and James Banks and wife, Eve, Perryton; three daughters, Mable Headrick and husband, Don, Elkhart, Lula Overstreet and husband, Robert, Aurora, Colo., and Phyllis Brant, Redmond, Wash.; two brothers, Paul Woodrum and wife, Verda, Salem, Ore., and Robert Woodrum and wife, Lois, Perryton; three sisters, Rinda Bartlett, Dodge City, Naomi Hillis and husband, Leonard, Liberal, and Verda Cooper and husband, Lee Jr., Hardesty; 19 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, Willis Eugene Banks; one granddaughter, Sharlet Jewell; one brother, Leroy Woodrum; and one sister, Edith Matheson.

Funeral services were at 10 a.m. today at the Hardesty Apostolic Faith Church with the Revs. Harold Bollinger and Kevin Cornell presiding.

Burial followed at the Hartville Cemetery in Hardesty.

Memorials are suggested to the Hardesty Apostolic Faith Church or to the Range Missionary Council in care of Henson-Novak Funeral Directors, Box 1306, Guymon, OK 73942.

VERLE R. ELDRIDGE

HARDESTY, Okla. -- Verle R. Eldridge, 61, Hardesty, died Monday, May 7, 2001, at Memorial Hospital of Texas County in Guymon, Okla.

He was born Sept. 4, 1939, to Merle Franklin and Hazel Marie (Pennington) Eldridge in Liberal.

He married Glenda L. DeHarde Nov. 3, 1961, in Hardesty. She survives.

He attended school in Hardesty and graduated from Hardesty High School. He then attended Panhandle State University in Goodwell, Okla. He also attended recruiting school in Indianapolis and Bethesda, Md.

He joined the U.S. Army in 1959 and served for 21 years. He retired April 1, 1980, with the rank of E7, Sgt. First Class. He served in Alaska from 1959-1960; Germany from 1961-1963; Vietnam from 1968-1969; and Korea from 1972-1973.

He was a recruiter for five years in the Oklahoma Panhandle area, Kansas and Texas. After retirement from the Army, he was employed by the Corps of Engineers and Hooker, Okla., public school.

He was a member of Kiwanis Club of Hardesty and attended the United Methodist Church in Hooker.

He received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with four bronze service stars, Vietnam Campaign medal with 60 Device, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Bronze Star Medal, Good Conduct Medal with fifth awards and Meritorious Service Medal.

Other survivors include two sons, Alvin Eldridge, Santa Fe, N.M., and Frank Eldridge and fiancee, Lisa Williams, Liberal; one daughter, Arletta Thompson and husband, Johnpaul, Greenville, N.C.; four brothers, Cleberne Eldridge and wife, Shirley, Denver, Leon Eldridge and wife, Carol, Edmond, Okla., Eldon Eldridge and wife, Emma Mae, Hardesty, and Roy Cooper and wife, Debbie, Atoka, Okla.; two grandchildren, Layne Eldridge, Guymon, Okla., and Bailey

Williams, Liberal; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one nephew, Nathan Cooper; a sister-in-law, Shirley Eldridge; and a half-brother, Billy Cooper.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the United Methodist Church in Hooker with the Rev. Kim Domnick presiding.

Burial will be at the Hooker Cemetery in Hooker.

Memorials are suggested to the Shriner's Children's Hospital in care of Roberts Brothers Funeral Home, Box 745, Hooker, OK 73945.

BOBBY G. HAGEN

BETHANY, Okla. -- Bobby Gene Hagen, 51, died Monday, May 7, 2001, in Oklahoma City.

He was born Feb. 11, 1950, to Ray and Mada Hagen in Perryton, Texas.

He was raised on a farm in Balko, Okla. He attended Turpin, Okla., Grade School, Balko High School and Panhandle State College before entering the U.S. Navy.

He served on the aircraft carrier USS Constellation during the Vietnam War.

He moved to Oklahoma City and was employed in the heating and air conditioning industry.

Survivors include his parents, Balko; one daughter, Holly Rae Hagen, Yukon, Okla.; one sister, Connie Gard and husband, Jon, Waretown, N.J.; and two nephews, David Gard and wife, Diane, Bayville, N.J., and Brad Gard, Philadelphia.

Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Mercer-Adams Chapel in Bethany.

A second service will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church in Balko.

Burial will be at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Balko.

Mercer-Adams Funeral Home in Bethany is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society or the Apostolic Faith Church Building Fund, Balko, OK 73931.

GINA GAYE CURRIER

BEAVER, Okla. -- Gina Gaye Currier, 42, died Saturday, May 5, 2001, at the Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa, Okla., following a brief illness.

She was born Jan. 28, 1959, to Ray Vernon and Jo Ann (Branstetter) Cramer in Beaver.

She graduated from Beaver High School.

She married Tommy Dale Currier. He survives.

She lived around Oklahoma, and was a resident of Tulsa for the past few years.

She was a gardener in the landscaping industry.

Other survivors include one son, Jarrod Scott Shuey, Oklahoma City; two daughters, Callie Marie Currier and Jesse Nicole Currier, both of the family home in Tulsa; her mother and Darrell Cox, Woodward, Okla.; one brother, Ray Cramer, Forgan, Okla.; one sister, Sandy Reidle, Weatherford, Okla.; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Church of the Firstborn in Beaver, with Brother Benny Watkins presiding.

Burial will be at the Overton Cemetery in Beaver, under the direction of Clark Funeral Service in Beaver.

CHRISTROPHER A. WILKINSON

LAVERNE, Okla. -- Christropher Alan Wilkinson, 15, died Tuesday, April 24, 2001, from injuries he sustained in a a motor vehicle accident.

He was born July 13, 1985, to Sammy and Theresa Wilkinson in Shattuck, Okla.

He was an eighth grade student in the Laverne School system.

Survivors include his parents of the home; two brothers, Samuel Joe Wilkinson and Nichlos Wilkinson, both of the family home; two sisters, Ashley and Mandy Wilkinson, both of the family home; grandparents, William and Nelda Bump, Dallas, Texas, Franky and Elaine Johns, Sharon, Okla., and Jay Wilkinson, Woodward, Okla.; great-grandparents, Al and Georgia Jacobs, Laverne; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Shackelford Hall, Laverne Schools, with the Rev. Wes Peterman presiding.

Burial will be at the Laverne Cemetery in Laverne under the direction of Clark Funeral Service in Beaver.

FANNIE H. ROBB

FORGAN, Okla. -- Fannie Helen Robb, 89, died Saturday, July 7, 2001, in Idaho Falls, Idaho.

She was born Jan. 26, 1912, to Mathias and Carolina Posl in Floris, Okla.

She had been a lifetime resident of Beaver County, Okla., before moving to Idaho.

Survivors include one son, Jean William Spohn, Oklahoma City; one daughter, Alice Kay Wilson, Adaho Falls; three sisters, Rose Posl, Kathryn Noon and Clara McMillan; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Jean R. Spohn and her second husband, Jim Robb.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Forgan United Methodist Church in Forgan with David Mercer presiding.

Burial will be at the Beaver Pioneer Cemetery in Beaver under the direction of Clark Funeral Service in Beaver.

ASHLEY E. BISHOP

HOOKER, Okla. ­ Ashley Elizabeth Bishop, infant daughter of Mark and Cara Bishop, died Thursday, July 26, 2001 at Memorial Hospital of Texas County in Guymon, Okla.

Survivors include her parents of the home; two sisters, Alyssa Nicholle Bishop and Alexis Machelle Bishop, both of the home; paternal grandparents, Ron and Lareta Bishop, Clinton, Okla.; maternal grandparents, Charles and Carole Rhoades, Hooker; paternal great-grandmother, Maxine Green, Amarillo, Texas; maternal great-grandparents, Dillan and Aldene Caddell, Guymon, and Dewey and Rosabel Coldiron, Guymon; two uncles, Chad Rhoades and wife, Kristie, Tyrone, Okla., and Dalton Scott and Jennifer Bishop, Burns Flat, Okla.

Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Hooker with Brother Ron Mimms presiding.

Burial was at the Hooker Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to the First Baptist Church Nursery in Hooker in care of Roberts Brothers Funeral Home, Box 745, Hooker, OK 73945.
